a very well written book with good insights. I really appreciated how honest the author talked about his health issues and is struggles throughout them, and think that its a great book for anyone having some kind of health struggle as well as along as you don't mind religious aspects in your book -or especially if you are looking for those in your books!
Thank you Netgalley for a free copy of this book to read and review!
This work was an amazing account of one man's journey through affliction -- having discovered that his mitral valve was destroyed by bacteria and open heart surgery was required, along with extensive rehab to recover. The book delves into feelings about mortality, marriage, each person's impact on community, the little things that mean so much, faith, questioning what God gives you and how we feel when He doesn't answer as we'd like. Very thought-provoking, with a calling for each reader to think about how we see God in our lives and what our own faith journey looks like. Short book, and highly recommended reading. Not preachy, despite the weighty topics.
This was written in such a raw honest way. This subject is something I think of once in a while. Struck is a beautiful and inspirational story of faith and God's love for humankind. I plan to buy several copies
This book is excellent. It's personal and yet helpful, even for someone not going through a near-death experience. Russ Ramsey is a brilliant and profound writer and I would recommend his works to anyone.
I found this book particularly interesting because I was an open heart surgery nurse for 10 years. It was so eye opening to see the "other side" of these operations. I appreciated his honest walk through such a grueling surgery. and how that weaved into his faith story. Such good words for those processing suffering and mortality.
