I received this book from the publisher via Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.
This book was not for me. In fact I couldn't bring myself to finish it - and I finish lots of books that I don't love. However, I read for the plot line and this book had a thin plot line that existed as a vehicle for boring sex scenes. Ick. Not my thing at all. I'd shelve this under vanilla erotic romance if that's your thing. It's not mine.

This Wylie girl is horny all the time. Will she be able to walk normally? And must she go to bed with every woman that appears in her path? I haven't figured out some of Amarina's reactions. She acts so strange. The dialogues are underdeveloped and silly. And the chapters, scene breaks, periods? Seem so oddly and inadequately situated to me. The sex scenes are very simple and I think some of them are three or four times repeated. It isn't a book that I will recomend reading.

If you are in the mood for a story that'll turn you on then this is the one for you. 'Love Down Under' seems like one sex scene after another from start to finish. Wylie is on a backpacking trip in Australia and seems to spend her time sleeping with any woman that moves. That is until she falls for Amarina and wants to spend all her time with her- again having lots of sex. I couldn't really see the attraction I'm afraid as Amarina was intensely irritating and contrary. Why Wylie bothered indulging her I couldn't fathom. Wylie was such a lovely character and I felt Amarina wasn't being at all fair on her. But people fall for who they fall for. An interesting insight into Australian life.
I was given this ARC by Netgalley and Bold Strokes Books in return for an honest review.

Disclaimer: As I'm not into criticizing an author when they take the time to write a story for people to enjoy, I'll start by saying this is just my opinion on what could have made this book better for me. The authors actual talent and style of writing was great, so these are just minor critiques to help or be ignored.
I also want to help other readers in figuring out whether they should purchase a book with their hard earned money and will be honest with my yes or no.
Well if you like sex scenes every 5 pages then you will love this book!! I'm unfortunately not one of those people, so it was a little too much for me.
It took a little too long for Wylie to meet Amarina. I didn't understand why we needed the whole beginning part with Sheila since it was pretty apparent that Wylie was a "player" through not only her actions with other women but also because it was said a whole bunch of times. It could have just started off with her hooking up with Julia and we still would have gotten it.
The books description was also a little off to me. It makes it seems like Wylie leaves Australia and then the majority of the book is her coming back to try and win Amarina back. This isn't the case at all, and is much more a book about Wylie and Amarina's closeted relationship. The books description gives away the main climax point at the end when Wylie leaves, so there was no surprise in the book. I would change the books summary as not to give that away.
Recommendation: If you like erotica books then this may be one for you. If you like a detailed romance book then I would skip this one.

An honest review thanks to NetGalley. I started out thinking that I would like this book, but as it went on, I realized that the book was constantly repeating itself. And there were so much sex scenes, I like sex scenes, but I felt no chemistry between Wiley and any of the characters. The lack of chemistry and the constant repetition irritated me. I thought I would be able to give this three stars when I started on the last chapter but even when I thought I could get really into the book it abruptly ended. This wasn't the book for me, and it is just Williamz writing style, many of you might enjoy it so don't let this review change your mind.

I was, again, left wanting by a publication from this author. A number of more recent works by Ms. Williamz, specifically "Heartscapes" and "Sheltered Love," have been quite thin on substantive plot lines and immersed instead in the depiction of the physical aspects of a relationship. Entire chapters will be devoted to graphic sex scenes, with minimal relief provided by introspection into the intimate background details that form the crux of a novel. One becomes tired of venturing into a world that is inhabited by no more than passion for passion's sake. Last year I encountered a release by Ronica Black that I feared would take the same course, "The Midnight Room" and was quite hesitant to delve into it. Four hours after beginning the text, I found myself both titillated by the raw nature of the intimate encounters between the protagonists as well as surprisingly touched by the journey through the classic womanizer to "perfect" girlfriend trope. Ms. Williamz would do well to follow that example-emphasize the physical less and construct tales in which the affections of the characters are more than just grazed over.

2 1/2 Stars. I'm sorry to say, I think I have to put Williamz on my do not read list. Maybe that will make her happy, that she won't have to read my reviews anymore. It is just that the last 3 books, I've read, have been so disappointing, I just don't think she is an author for my personal tastes. I do own her first two books, which have some higher ratings, maybe I will read them eventually. But when it come to new releases by Williamz, I think I am done.
The problem with the last three books, and why I feel this way, is sex, sex, and more sex. I want to make clear, I love a good steamy sex scene, or two or three, but not twenty. There was even more sex scenes than that, I just stopped counting when I hit twenty. The problem is these books have so much sex, and so little plot. As Dee put it, in her review, maybe the sex is the plot? That's what it really feels like, and that just doesn't work personally for me. They become so repetitive, that I kept begging for some scenes that involved clothes.
I did rate this slightly higher than her last book Love on Liberty, with an extra half star. That was because this book had one interesting thing. The main character Wylie, got a job as a pearl diver. I ate these non sex scenes up, and actually found it interesting. Unfortunately, it became Wylie went diving found 4 pearls. Wylie went diving and had a bad day with 1 pearl. It too became repetitive and lost it's cool factor.
The characters, well I don't really know much about them still. Wylie likes sex and hard work, and Amarina is in the closet, and very body self conscious. That's about all I learned in this whole book. Not a lot of character details, just a lot of repetitive sex.
I can not recommend this. If you are looking for a story with a lot of sex scenes, and not much else, then this book is for you.
An ARC was given to me by Bold Strokes Books, for a honest review.

I had a difficult time making it through this book. It was supposed to be a romance between Wylie and Amarina but about 1/3 of the book focused on Wylie's relationship with the tour guide Sheila. It amazed me how quickly Wylie could forget Sheila and move on because she alluded to the fact of how wonderful she was. I was a little disappointed that all of the sites that Wylie saw on her tour in Australia were glazed over. She apparently saw many amazing sights and did a lot of neat things, but there was no description about anyone of them. I would have liked some descriptions of at least a few of the sites. . Amarina was a solid character hiding who she is and loses Wylie in the process. Like any lesfic their is turmoil throughout. I have read several other MJ books and there is a lot of hotness in the book like the others. Overall I didn't really enjoy this one all that much but I am so grateful I was given the opportunity to read it.

This story is 75% sex, I won't say erotica, as some might not find the frequent, often brief, mostly repetitive, sex scenes erotic. In fact the sex overwhelmed the plot so much I started to cringe and literally said out loud – “Oh god. Please, no! Not again!” - and got to the point I skimmed over them. That’s a big comment coming from a reader who adores erotic fiction.
So, what else is there? Oh little bits of Aussie, and its red dirt, and Wylie the brick layers venture into diving for pearls. I actually rather enjoyed the insight to this job. It was a welcome break from the main plot. (sex?)
And then there's Wylie's attraction to Amarina, pronounced A-Marina? And there on-again off-again relationship. Initially, I liked Amarina, but by the end of the story her self-deprecating comments, and her lack of ability to listen to a word Amarina said, drove me to distraction. So much so I knocked a star off. It went on for far too long and became a convoluted mess that I struggled to keep read.
3 stars due to the fact that something about this story compelled me to keep reading. Less 1 star for the painful ending.
