3 1/2 Stars. I've been a fan of Cannon for a long time. Some of her latest books, have been a bit up and down for me. The beginning of this book had me worried, but I definitely warmed up to the story more, as the book continued.

The book is about Kiersten, the CEO of the popular energy drink JOLT. While growing up wealthy, Kiersten did not have the most loving parents or a great childhood. Shes worked hard to transform herself and her business into a success. When she gets the news that famous rock star and out lesbian, Tobin, wants to be sponsored by JOLT, Kiersten thinks it's a horrible idea. Tobin has a bad reputation as a player. Not too mention Kiersten has a bit of a crush on her. And business and pleasure can never mix for Kiersten. Tobin decides to have Kiersten spend a month on tour with her, to see the real Tobin. Will Kiersten take the chance? And if she does, can business and pleasure stay separate?

At first I was having a real problem with Tobin. She was the kind of character that picked a new girl or girls to sleep with every night on tour. It just was not too appealing to me, and I kept thinking about STD's, which I'm sure Cannon did not have in mind when writing this. As the book wore on, I started to soften up to Tobin. How much was really her, or what she thought she was suppose to be. After that I started to enjoy the book more. Kiersten could be a little stiff, but I liked her character. There was absolutely chemistry between Tobin and Kiersten, and I found myself hoping for a HEA. I found some of the angst to be a little blah and predictable, but I still enjoyed the book.

If you are a fan of Cannon and like a younger/older romance, this book might be right up your alley. It has a few small issues, but overall it was a good read.

An ARC was given to me by Bold Strokes Books, for a honest review.

I read this book in one day. It was a page turner but when I finished I was kind of like, "is that it"? Tobin and Kiersten are great characters and I thought they worked really well together. Tobin is a multiplatinum selling singer and songwriter who wants Kiersten's company to sponsor her next tour. Kiersten came off as a tough as nails businesswoman until about 1/3 of the way through. Then we begin finding out about her insecurities and why she is the way she is. Once the two meet they keep "accidentally " running into one another. How else will the plot progress?!? There is a lot of angst between the characters due to differences in opinions, ages, and beliefs. The story just abruptly ended (hence why I asked myself if this was it). I would have loved maybe a chapter or even a couple pages just to give it a little more closure. I think Julie Cannon is a fantastic writer (one of my faves) and I was thrilled to be able to read this book in exchange for an honest review. I look forward to her next book!!

Tobin Parks is famous, mega-popular, mega hot music star. Wherever she goes, whatever she does, dozens of girls and women want to be around her, want to be with her; Kirsten Fellows, CEO of a multi-million dollar company producing energy drinks, want to roll her eyes whenever someone mentions the name Tobin Parks. She's not thrilled about Tobin's lifestyle, about rumors going around, and she's definitely not thrilled about doing business with her, even though Tobin wants her to. Their lives couldn't be more different, considering the fact they come from very different background, but they are unusually and inexplicably drawn to each other.
Kirsten is something Tobin doesn't usually have around - she's mature, responsible, has developed her own business, and she's very hard working and grounded. She also hopes there is more to Tobin than her Lothario image media created. Is there more or is it just her hope and belief?
The book practically reads itself. Its written skillfully, has a great development, both characters have dept to them; each of them has a background story they want to hide and never talk about it in their life, but in spite of their effort, it comes to the surface. I loved reading this book, and loved every part of it!

From the Prologue until a few chapters in i got a bit confuse because this title sounded so good but the writing just did fit..everything just was so 100% contradictory with both main characters with everything that they were saying and doing..plus their POV even were a bit frustrating..a bit into the story the author wrote about one character that she love having sex with women then in the next breath she's thinking about being single or just meeting someone to settle down with..then in the next she's telling her band mate to call some lady from the crowd to come backstage to hook-up after...then here is the other one who us the readers find out later on that she's a virgin urgh!! this story was so confusing and twisted..she was so sure and confident and all that she want what she want.. but it's like this added piece of info the author put into the story..then there was the bits of family drama from both of them which was quite dramatic and just added a little spice to this book not that much anyway...this was just a teaser of a page or two just for this book...the supporting cast was not all that for this story anyway...romance? not!! no chemistry to talk of because the author force them together..no character development..just a surprise ending
