Eliza was funny and smart maybe not about stomping on a fire escape ladder to get it to come down, but smart where it counted in this nicely done murder mystery. She and Baxter are a pair whom I hope to see again throughout the series. They are cute and sexy together. The plot was a page turner and all of the characters did their part to make it happen. I look forward to the next installment in this series.

This book captured my attention from the first chapter and I didn't want to put it down.

The characters, the quirky apartment building and the story line make this a most enjoyable read. I liked that it is a mystery with enough twists and turns to keep it interesting and just a touch of romance to keep the characters interesting.

I can't wait to read the next one!

Wasn't exactly sure how this book would go, but once I got into the story I was hooked. Between shock, laughter, fear and anger the emotions run throughout the book. I liked the characters, the crazy ones and the sane work as a good balance. And the mystery and murders add a touch of spice as well. Great book, and highly recommend this book and author. I look forward to the next one in the series.

Trouble Magnet by DelSheree Gladden is the first book I've read from this author. And it won't be my last! The first book in the Elisa Carlisle Mystery is off to a great start. Fun characters that offer lots of possibilities. Laughs, romance, and mystery will keep you turning the pages. I'm looking forward to more of Eliza's life in her crazy apartment building!

I quite enjoyed this first in a new series! This is my first book by this author and I want to know when the next is available.

Eliza is a 23 and - after something major happened 5 years ago - is finally ready to start culinary school and be more outgoing. She moves into her absent sister's apartment and only then is informed of the extra requirements to stay a tenant in the low-rent building. The next day an elderly neighbor is murdered and somehow Eliza gets involved and starts sleuthing to save her own hide.

I loved the banter between Eliza and neighor Baxter. He is handsome but grumpy and helps her out several times. I feel something brewing!

There were several typo's and indeed a lot of eyerolling (lol) but I liked this mystery and the characters in it. Nicely done.

I requested and received a copy from Netgalley and this is my honest review.
