This is the 3rd and last book of this series.... I LOVED it!!!
The ending was perfect for the story... However, I think this series could continue if Ms. Mayer wanted to revisit these characters in the future, hint, hint....
Regardless, this fast paced journey was exciting with surprises at every turn...
Highly Recommend this series.... and anything written by Shannon Mayer....

What a thrilling conclusion to this wonderful series. Alena has really grown into her skin in book 3. She's rid of her horrid ex husband (good riddance to him) and on to bigger and better things. But there are speed bumps along the way, in the form of Hera. She's out for blood this time and it's up to Alena to be the hero she was meant to be and save everyone. This is an action packed ride and sure to please. I highly recommend this series.

I really liked this series and “Hisses and Honey” is a great ending. Alena finally got the divorce I waited for and has become some kind of super hero, a butt kicking one. I like that! I had so much fun with this series and even if all questions are answered for now, there is hope for more books with how the book ended. And I would love to read more.
I chose to read this book and all opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased. Thank you, NetGalley and 47North!

Hisses and Honey picks up where Fangs and Fennel ended off. After divorcing her ex-husband, Alena Budrene can now start enjoying her new life as a Supe. Sadly, due to her defeating Theseus in Fangs and Fennel, Hera decides to send another hero to face Alena. Not just any hero, this time she has sent Hercules along with a nine headed hydra. Not only that but Alena has to deal with Remo leaving her on their first date and find a way to make peace with her mother. Thankfully, Alena’s not the same woman we met back in Venom & Vanilla because now she’s not afraid to stand up for herself and protect those who she cares about.
Overall, Hisses and Honey was a well-written conclusion to the Venom series. Shannon Mayer once again proved to us that she can still write entertaining series like this with no trouble at all. I’m really going to miss the characters of this series, although we got a hint of a potential spinoff series so we might see them again one day. Once again, Shannon Mayer did another excellent job just like in her other series.

While I did enjoy this final book of the trilogy, it wasn't my favorite. I felt like she needed to stay mad at Reno longer. It felt like she gave In way to easily. I loved the action, but I needed a little more conflict with the romance storyline. But a good ending to a fun series.

I've been a fan of Shannon Mayer for a few years now. The Rylee Adamson novels are great and I love the author's turn of phrase. So, when I found out she had a new series out, it went to the top of my to-be-read pile. I really enjoyed the first two novels in the series and found this one, Hisses and Honey – the third and final(?) book, on netgalley. I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review. And, honestly, I REALLY liked it!
Overall, this series is about a fish out of water who comes into her own. It has been a lot of fun getting to know Alena through the first two books. Her world, her friends and family, and her struggles to find her place in the world have been handled with humor and relatable foibles that make for quickly paced, enjoyable novels and very fast reads. In this installment, Alena finally learns to trust her own strength and judgement. She silences the inner voices that make her doubt and question her path. With this book, the third and possibly final one in the series, she really settles into her snake skin. She is a leader, a fighter, a negotiator, and a true force for good in her world. Alena’s warmth and kindness are still there, but we also see her being comfortable with a willingness to do what needs to be done – even if that means killing or hurting others.
While the ending seems to have possibilities for new adventures, particularly for secondary characters, this was a good final novel in the series. We saw emotional resolutions and political conflicts end. Secrets were revealed. Questions were answered. There are no looming mysteries or concerns and no cliff hangers. It was a great ending to a fabulous series.
In general, if you’re looking for a good urban fantasy series, particularly one with a slew of Greek Mythological beings, vampires, and weres, give this one a read.

The third and final book of the Venom trilogy. Alena defeated Theseus in the last book, but Hera is still upset with her so she brings back Hercules giving him a nine headed hydra. Alena has found her groove with the new powers by this point having pretty much embraced who she is now. I admit that the drama with Remo threw me a little bit, and I lost some respect for him due to his lack of balls (all I can so without spoilers). It all seems to work out in the end though, and I am proud of Alena for stepping up. A good mix of fantasy, supernatural, drama, and action. My only complaint is that it is over now. It gets 4/5 stars.

I loved the first two books and this one was no different. A must read is what this is.

This was such a funny and enjoyable trilogy. The third book did not disappoint. Alena grew from a timid mouse to a guardian Super Duper. I really enjoyed seeing her stand up to the Greek gods and treat them like normal people. Looking forward to other books by this author.

Here it is, the final installment in the Venom Trilogy. In this book, Alena is finally rid of the problems posed by her husband, but several other problems take his place. She has to face another hero sent by Hera, the virus has accelerated and is killing more people faster, and Remo has decided to change their relationship. And, she must fix her relationship with her mother. How will she fix it all? And, will she save everyone or die trying? Before I go into the things that bothered me about this book, I have to say the things I loved about it. Alena really came into her own in the events in this book; she is more mature, more comfortable with herself, and does so well standing on her own. As always, the book was well-written and the characters were very entertaining. I really did enjoy the book from start to finish. However, I do have to say the plot wasn’t very cohesive and a couple characters really acted the opposite of how I would think they would act. Neither of these things interfered in my enjoyment of the book, but when I thought it about it after the book was over, I wondered. All-in-all, I really enjoyed this trilogy and am sad to see it go. Highly recommend!
Thanks to NetGalley and 47North for the e-copy of the book. This same review will be posted on both Goodreads and Amazon.

I'm sorry to see this series come to an end because I really liked Alena and all her friends and family. I was disappointed in the ending though. After all the build up and the battle comes down to Hercules, a hydra, and Hera and basically Alena talked Hera into a compromise, which is all fine and dandy but a bit of a let down. I was also surprised that Alena's Mom opted to stay where she was. Good series overall, and I love Mayer's writing style. I will have to delve into her other series.

This is a satisfying conclusion to this series. I was so glad that Alena got to learn more about her mother and father's origins. Greek gods can be a very whiney bunch!

This book was easy and fast for me to read. Its pretty good. This author was unknown to me before I came across some of her stories and read them because I love to read and love finding new authors to read from while waiting for new books come out. Im now glad I did read this book.

Loved the exciting and enthralling sequel to the trilogy and the third book in paranormal series by the fabulously talented Shannon Meyer. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reading copy from NetGalley.
While Alena is battling her enemies, she is dating the sexy vampire, Remo. Alena thought she was getting a break from all the mayhem but has to battle Hera and her evil minions to save not only the humans but also the supes.
Read the highly recommended and wonderfully written full of adventure, mystery, and intrigue.

She's finally come in to her own. Not easy to get the Gods and Goddesses to listen and agree. Add getting rid of (permanently) the Vampire Council and the main opponents to her relationship and you have non stop action and solid plot. I have thoroughly enjoyed this series so far.

Gods, monsters, humans and throw in a few self righteous ones and you have the incredible story of Alena! Must read if you love fantasy.

3rd book in the trilogy. Greek Gods, monsters, action and mystery. Culmination of this storyline tied up all loose ends. HEA. Ms. Mayer is a multitalented author that can jump paranormal worlds at the drop of a hat. A fairly prolific writer that never fails to entertain. Excellent addition to her other series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book from Netgalley.

Alena has become a reluctant super-hero despite being a monster. She has finally received her divorce and is looking forward to a future with Remo. She knows that the danger is far from over, Hera is sending another hero against her and he will be aided by the Hydra that Merlin created under Hera’s orders but she believes with her friends and allies she can be victorious. She is out on her first real date with Remo who she believes will let her be the strong, independent woman she always known she could. She has finally come to terms with being the Drakania and claims the power that comes with it. Unfortunately, she is still second guessing herself way too much and belittling herself over incidents that she coped with in the only way possible which has been a recurring problem throughout the series. I know that the author is trying to show how humane, sympathetic and caring she is despite what she was changed into but I don’t think the readers needed it banged into their heads repeatedly throughout the series; her actions show us that without the same words being written over and over again.
After Remo leaves her devastated because he has chosen to do what the vampire council would expect instead of fight for his right to be with her she decides to handle things the best she can. Hera has ramped up the Aegrus Virus by putting it in the water so more human will contract and have to choose whether to live or die. The vampire council believes that their numbers will soon be great enough that they can rule the world and this is just one more battle that she knows she must fight against. Her first battle with Hercules and the Hydra leaves her mortally wounded and she hopes to die because of what happened during the fight but Smithy rushes her to his place where Panacea manages to save her although she has been unconscious for days. Smith doesn’t want her to continue, he’s afraid that the next time she will be killed but she is determined to find Zeus, he is the only one who can control of the rest of the pantheon and stop the Hera and her cohorts from causing more havoc against humanity. Despite being the king of the gods, Zeus has been hiding in the mortal world because of the regrets he has over the mistakes he made with his son Hercules. He knows that Hera has sent him after Alena and doesn’t want to have chose between his soon and the rest of the world. She is also determined to regain what she lost during the battle with the Hydra and se doesn’t care if she must die in order to succeed.
4/5 STARS: **I want to thank the author and/or publisher for providing me with a copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review; all opinions are mine.**

Hisses and Honey was a good conclusion to a good series. I loved seeing Alena kick butt and that ending was nice. I really liked how the "end fight" was handled.
The epilogue leaves room for a spinoff - which I would totally read - but at the same time all questions are answered and I can say I was highly entertained by this series.
Shannon Mayer did not disappoint with this series.
