I really enjoyed this book. I couldn't put it down from start to finish. Top read!

This book gripped me from the start and as Brody Quail's reality fractured around him I became increasingly absorbed in trying to work out what was happening. So when all was finally revealed I felt a sense of disappointment that it was - at least in SF terms - all rather prosaic. It amply illustrates that it is all too easy to think up tantalising scenarios and much harder to come up with an explanation for them. Mr Grosart's amounts to little more than 'it was all just a dream.'

This engrossing tale echoes Ground Hog Day in that the scenes are repeated until the main character realizes what's wrong and where the dangers lie. A story of living in snapshots with loved ones and lies. What is real and what is not is the challenge that the main character, Brody, must work out to escape the shadow man, who he believes is out to kill him.

I am sorry, but just could not finish it... read 50 pages and still nothing made sense... It was a struggle to get into reading and nothing was gripping. Not for me I guess.

Oh, I'm the first to actually review this one. How exciting. Also why does someone take a nice proper name like Charles and turn it into something vaguely disgusting like Chuck? Anyway, the book was fun. My first experience with the author, random Netgalley selection. Purely popcorn sort of entertainment and the author seems to be aware of it. Lightning quick pace as in word count low for page count, almost 4 hours worth of reading. The concept is quite neat, but getting there took too long, even with the aforementioned brisk pacing. The disorienting WTFery of it all went on for much too long as the protagonists switched worlds, confusing themselves and their audience. And just when you start to get fed up, the explanations came and the aha moment arrived. Can't really discuss the ending without giving away the plot, but it really was the saving grace of the story, nice scifi angle, not terrifically original, but decently so, with the final uber cinematic twist, perfectly appropriate for a novel that reads very much like a movie. With tons of action and let's vaguely say terrestrial extraterrestrial shenanigans, this should please genre fans. Entertaining quick read. Thanks Netgalley.

Mr. Grossart's latest work is quite unique. Overall, I found it more work to get through the first 25% of the book than any of his others, however, in the end, the challenge was rewarded with a fantastic sci-fi twist that was very unpredictable. I do wish the time between the big reveal and the conclusion allowed for a little more reward between the main characters for an even bigger payoff to the reader. I still highly recommend this book to any sci-fi fan.
