This mc romance was a great read. I loved how Colt n the others protected her n how Colt changed n it was for the best. They have this chemistry between them but they try to stay away from each other. But in the end she is still protected by the mc
This book was just okay for me.
I found Krista very difficult to relate to. She was the MC whore/bartender. She was a single parent and had fallen on difficult times since her ex constantly stole money from her. I struggled relating to her. If it was about money, why not take a second or third job? She was a bartender a few nights a week and otherwise made her money in a bed.
Colt...part of me wanted to like him but it was definitely a struggle. He judged Krista when he found out the truth despite knowing what women in the MC world did who weren't tied to someone. Despite everything he had gone through and the fact that he was lying about why he was there, he felt he had the right to judge.
The only reason I didn't rate this lower was because I really enjoyed the MC part of the book. We were given a great glimpse of how political these clubs can be and what members might do when they are desperate. This is an area a lot of authors forget about in favor of building their story but this remains an important part of an MC book as it helps the reader get into the mindset of what is going on in the story.
I love MC romance but I have complicated feelings about books involving prostitution which this one has. Krista is a single mother who went from stripping to being a paid clubwhore for the local MC. She meets Cole when he comes to town from a larger MC chapter. Cole is working with Krista's MC prez to facilitate a mass patch over of the whole club. For all you non-MC readers that means the small club was merging into a larger one. Cole is supposed to figure out how and why Krista's club is losing money before the patch over. Here's the thing, when Cole arrives in town, except the club prez Krista's whole club is gone. So Cole shows up at the one moment in time when Krista has no customers.
Due to some miscommunication Krista thinks Cole knows what she does and that he is ok with it. That is not the case. So of course Cole and Krista bond and become this wonderful couple just in time for Cole to discover that Krista makes her money the old fashioned way. The oldest way in fact. Cole flips out but not because Krista is a clubwhore. Because actually finding out that your girl is an actual hoe might be a good reason to go off. But no. Cole is mad because he thinks Krista decieved him. He drops her like a lying whore which is only half justified. Krista is crushed. She had decided to stop turning tricks because she was falling in love. When Cole dumps her and she starts having money issues she goes back to her old job.
And this is the part where I really started to be like hell no. I HATE when the main characters have sex with other people after they are together. If that is not an issue for you, it might not be a problem with this book for you. The other thing that disrupted my enjoyment of this book was the length of time it took Cole to understand that Krista did not intentionally mislead him. Cole has fallen in love with Krista but he stubbornly denies it for most of the book. It was just too much for me. You love the girl, pull yourself together sir. There were several good things in this book but for me there were too many distractions for this to make it to my fave list. I would totally read other books by this author though.
Colt, you made me wish I had a Colt a time or twenty...
Being an MC Romance addict, I was intrigued by the synopsis of Enforcer's Price. As happens many times, my love for the sub-genre has me taking chances on new authors. I enjoyed this author's writing style, and I definitely plan to continue reading the Demon Horde MC series.
Krista had my attention, and my admiration from the beginning. I respect her determination to do whatever it takes to care for her child and keep a roof over their heads. She didn't apologize or make excuses for her choices, she was honest and hard working. Even when she was offered 'gifts', she chose to do things for herself. Over time she learned to put her feelings on hold, just doing what she had to do to get by. Her dreams were put on the back-burner, her education useless as she worked in the clubhouse instead of using her degree as an accountant. When Colt showed up, he gave her a glimpse of all she was missing, but was afraid to hope for.
Colt gave me several gray hairs as I was reading this story. He really pissed me off, multiple times. Yes, I know nobody is perfect, but I prefer an alpha badass biker that knows his mind and is willing to go for what he wants and doesn't let anything get in his way, including himself. But I guess the suspense of waiting for him to let go of his past and finally decide to trust in the possibility of a future that would have a different outcome is part of the process. One that had me biting my nails to nubs in frustration. However; I must admit that he had some very nice qualities too.
What I found unique about how this story was told is that the multiple POV's clued me in to what each character was thinking, and the secrets that they weren't telling each other. By being inside their heads I knew when what they believed was wrong. It made me a nervous wreck when I could see a train wreck coming and I was unable to stop it. I wanted to whisper in their ears and warn them, but I couldn't do anything but cross my fingers and hold on in preparation for the crash that was unavoidable.
Now that I've spent some time with the club members, I've got my eye on a few that I want to get to know better. I'm looking forward to more in the series. The line forms here...

I'm so in love with this book.
Krista works for the Storm Kings as a bartender and as the club whore. She's a mom and she's doing what she has to do to keep a roof over her and her daughter's heads and food on the table. She's not turning tricks on the street, getting beat up by a pimp, or funding a crack addiction. She's worked her way to an Associate’s Degree while getting rid of a deadbeat and abusive husband, while doing what she had to do. She's not ashamed of the choices she made, the guys at the Clubhouse treat her well and they don't make her feel less than a normal person.
Colt is a member of the Demon Horde and in town to work a pact between the Storm Kings, while trying to maintain his membership in the Horde. Years ago, his old lady betrayed him and the Horde, and now he's trying to work his way back into full membership and the trust of his chapter.
The attraction between Krista and Colt jumps off the page at you. Krista's turmoil at such an attraction hits her hard and she doesn't know how to react. Any relationship with him has the possibility to tear her orderly world apart. But Colt knows her, knows what she's had to do to keep her daughter safe and that makes her want to take a chance.
Except Colt doesn't know and finds out before she can tell him. Colt is furious and believes that she deliberately lied to him, used him for her own gain, just like his ex. When the members of the chapter come to Krista's defense, Colt must first realize his own shortcomings before he can apologize to her.
Loved, loved this book and I can't wait to read the next one of the series.

My favorite type of MC romance – gritty and dirty, which this book most certainly is!
Colt made a huge mistake trusting the wrong woman and he wound up in jail, and once released, he finds himself fighting to earn the trust of his MC brothers back. Colt is sent to find a traitor in another MC and decide if that MC is worthy to partner with his. What he doesn’t expect to find is Krista. Krista wound up pregnant at a young age and had to drop out of school to raise her daughter. Making the best of a sucky situation, Krista has become a whore at the MC to earn enough to support her daughter. When Colt shows up, the attraction between the two is immediate and Krista assumes that Colt knows what her job with the club is. Colt knows from the moment he spots Krista that she is going to be his, but when Colt finds out her true job at the club everything changes.
In my opinion, this is the best type of MC romance, while it’s super gritty and no holds barred crazy – it’s also a super sweet romance underneath all the grit. If you like MC romances, this is a must read!
Colt spent eight months in prison for trusting the wrong woman, nearly bringing down his entire motorcycle club in the process. Now he needs to fix the MC's cash flow problems or watch the only family he's ever known fall apart.
Krista is a single mother trying to get by and provide for the daughter in the only way she knows how.
They both bring out feelings that neither of them were expecting.
An "I couldn't put it down" read, ENFORCER'S PRICE was sexy, gritty, and fresh. The main characters, Colt and Krista, were having a heated and tumultuous relationship. I would say "affair" except that it was far from JUST an affair. It had depth, promise and definitely some longing.
I was surprised by how interested I became in the world of motorcycle clubs. Sarah Hawthorne drew me in right from the beginning, with her use of double points of view. Each chapter was told from both Krista's and Colt's points of view. I had nowhere to go except onto the next chapter.
The next two novels in the series, set for release later this year, promise to be just as electric. I can't wait to get my hands on them!
This is a Dirty Gritty MC that was very intriguing. I Loved the story line itself there was just a few times that the characters though developed irked me tremendously. Krista was a damn good mother I absolutely loved that and I loved that Colt wanted to be there for her and her daughter my only complaint is the back and forth between Colt and Krista. I know all relationships have obstacles that is not the part that bothered me it was all the hesitancy. All in all this was a good book with an awesome plot that kept me turning the page. I needed to know how it would all unfold in the end. Even with the hiccups I had with this story I am dying to read the next installment. Though I do hope we get more of Colt and Krista I can’t wait to hear Skeeter’s Story.
3.5 Stars
I really did not care for this story. Not only was there insta-love... it wasn't believable. I was really put off by Krista's job. I mean I guess whatever you have to do to raise your kid. But the head of the club couldn't pay her to do other things around the club? She says she loves Colt, sleeps with him, then still sells herself for money after he realizes what her job at the club was and rejects her. Not 15 minutes after her john leaves, she almost sleeps wit Colt again. Eww. That is just a small portion of what is wrong with this story. The whole stolen money scenario was dumb. You leave your husband because he is a junkie, but you don't move your money into a bank account without his name on it? I doubt I'll continue with this series.
3.5-4 stars
Ya'll know I love a good MC book. And this was a good one, just the right balance between romance and club business, not sugar-coated, but not too dark and gritty. Basically, just right for me :)
So, this is Krista and Colt's story. I loved Krista! She was smart and loyal and a good mom who did what she needed to do to take care of her daughter. I knew her job would cause a problem for her and Colt...at first it was her, worrying that he really didn't love her for her, and later him when he found out what she did. And I have to say, Colt totally disappointed me. I wanted to shake him or slap some sense into him, pretty much, I wanted to whip him for the way he treated Krista. His mixed signals and non-communication killed me. I honestly think Krista forgave him too easily.
As for the secondary characters...I love them! I really hope Skeeter gets a book. And soon. I'll gladly come back and visit this group of characters :)
*thanks to Barclay PR for sharing a copy of this with me*
I have conflicting feelings about this one.
First the MC stuff is good. You get into the politics of how things are run. Lots of ins and outs. The action is good too. I liked. The plot of a guy trying to make good choices and show his worth, but unfortunately he doesn't make very many of them.
Colt pissed the hell out of me. He is in a MC for heaven sakes and he thinks he can pass judgement on another person? His push and pull of Krista was unbearable at times. She was good enough at first to play house with, but then he finds out that she sells tricks because she can't support her kid she is the scum of the earth. He humiliates her so many times. Then at the end doesn't tell her where he is but send money and cars to help him get over his guilt?
Krista, I have mixed feelings as well. I understand that she couldn't support her kid and has to fall on desperate means to do so. She was also trying to get through school so she could get a better job. I hate that she degraded herself mentally and verbally to everyone and how she didn't deserve better. I also hate how she just kept taking crap from Colt and still saying I love him. Yuk! I also didn't like that she had feelings for Colt, but she still was turning tricks. Now I know that her ex stole her money and she and she had no money, but it just seemed not cool.
Krista’s life has been anything but great. Being a hooker for biker club so she can make rent and have her ex meth addicted husband leave her alone, she’s barely keeping her head above water for her and her daughter. When Colt comes rolling into town saving Krista from her ex she finds herself curious about the new biker her makes her heart beat fast. Colt trusted the wrong woman once and now he needs to help save a local MC or be kicked out. He didn’t expect to find Krista or her adorable daughter but he is quick to realize to realize he’s falling for her.
Enforcer’s Price was interesting to say the least. I really liked Krista and how she fought for her and her daughter. She never did anything that could jeopardize her daughters’ life. I also like that she doesn’t just take scraps of attention from Colt. Colt pretty much had his head up where the sun doesn’t shine the entire book. While he was super sweet after everything he messes up a whole lot. I would love to see how their love story plays out in the future.
Enforcer’s Price was a good book. I didn’t love the story if only because Colt didn’t have many redeeming aspects outside his inner monologue. He understood what he did and then he did it again. Annoying. Anyway, the story was decent and enjoyable.
Debut Author Sarah Hawthorne has a great future ahead of her if this book is any indication of what's to come.
Colt & Krista are both likable characters and their story will pull at your heart strings. First we have Krista who is a single mom doing whatever she can to support her daughter. "A mothers love knows no bounds" a truer statement cannot be made about Krista, I instantly fell in love with her character, being a single mom isn't easy but not only does she have to contend with that but she has to put up with all kinds of crap from her ex who is currently a drugged up Meth-head. It seems like Krista cannot catch a break but then we meet Colt. Now Colt, he's like a protective papa bear when it comes to Krista and her daughter, Becky. It's rather funny since Colt is a big bad biker that never even set eyes on Krista or Becky before the night he prevented her ex, Robbie, from doing anything to her.
This story had quite a bit of angst in it, Robbie the druggie that takes whatever he can from his ex-wife while he neglects his daughter, Colt is on a mission to find out who is stealing money from the Storm Kings before the Damon Horde will patch them in, and if he fails he himself will be out of the MC, and Krista who works for the Storm Kings in more than just the bartender and cleaning lady capacity that Colt thinks. All of these topics makes this a fast paced joy ride that will have you battling several different emotions.
Enforcers price is Mc read. I must say I was highly disappointed with the book. Plot is unrealistic to me both main Characters weak and from time to time pathetic. Krista seem at first like strong but I don’t know whole selling her body for pleasure ammm I don’t think so. And Colt is some pathetic excuse for a mean Biker. He falls immediately in love with Krista, but of course Bikers don’t fall in love. And no he will not just have a fling actually he demands relationship from Krista. Like wtf. And all bushtit bikers business- so unrealistic. It was a little bit of action, unexpected twist that made things a little better. But the end was also not so much satisfying.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly
This book was amazing. Had excitement and action throughout the entire book. I look forward to more books from this author. I can see myself rereading this book. The characters and story were fantastic. I enjoyed watching them grow till the end. I recommend this to anyone who loves a good book.
This is a fast-paced MC read with a good story and great characters. Krista is one tough lady and does what she has to for her and her daughter to survive. Plenty of chemistry between Krista and Colt as well as drama and suspense. I really liked it.
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Colt spent 8 months in prison because the woman he trusted went against him and his MC creating cash problems. Now Colt must prove to his MC that he is worthy to be a part of them. He is being sent to check out a small MC that wants to merge with his MC. The only problem is, someone is skimming money and he has to find them before a decision can be made.
Krista is a single mom and a prostitute. She has an ex that is a serious addict and is always trying to shake her down for money. She has a room at the clubhouse and if one of the brothers wants to engage her services, they can. She also does other side jobs such as bartending and cleaning up. The sex is just that...sex. She is treated well by the club and her daughter is untouched by it. She is trying to make a better life for them.
When Colt arrives and they meet, they both realize the attraction to each other. After a few days, they decide to give into the attraction, calling it a fling....but is it?
Their lives turn into a whirlwind between looking for the person skimming from the club and issues with her ex. Neither want any kind of involvement and both have trust issues.
I really enjoyed this story! I think the only question that crossed by mind is that they fell for one another too fast, for 2 people with hardened hearts. There was some good action in the storyline and I think it was written very well. I'd like to read some more about this MC club.
Title: Enforcer's Price
Author: Sarah Hawthorne
4 unexpected stars
Wow. I love being surprised with MC genre novels and that's exactly what Sarah Hawthorne has managed to do with Enforcer's Price. The first in the series, it had the perfect balance between sexuality, tension, mystery, suspense and especially action. I never would have expected an MC as dark as it was (compared to many that i've personally read so far), and quite frankly, absolutely loved it! I couldn't wait to read more and find out what would happen between these two and see just how far they'll go to protect themselves, their family and each other. It's the kind of read that will give you chills and leave you wanting more.
4.5 sexy dreams stars
Nothing about this couple is 'normal'. Krista works at the MC's club as a bartender and to make up the money that her ex stole, she's a prostitute, needing to raise and take care of her daughter. Colt is a man that was put in jail for something that he didn't do and because of a woman he had given his heart to and since then, he's vowed never to trust another one. When they get together, feelings and emotions they thought was dead come back to life, making them question who, what and if they're doing the right thing. Like i mentioned, i couldn't get enough of this book and i can't wait to read more from Sarah Hawthorne, because with this first taste, i can only imagine what else she has in store for her readers in the future, something that i will be following.

If you like erotic MC romance, you'll love Enforcer's Price. Colt and Krista are alike in that they have overcome a lot in their lives. Krista is a single mom who does whatever she has to to keep a roof over her daughter's head. Colt had a woman betray him in the past so he's wary about getting involved again. But there's something about Krista that draws him to her. Looking forward to the next book in this series.
Bikers, whores, meth heads…there is your cast of characters to one he*l of a biker read. I don’t like to call Krista a whore because she was so much more than what that title entails. She was a loving mom and a woman who did what she had to do in order to survive and make a life for her daughter. Robbie got her pregnant as a teenager and then turned into a meth head that wanted nothing to do with his daughter and only wanted to extort money from his now ex-wife, Krista. Krista pulled herself up from this shi*y life she had been dealt put herself through college as an accountant and provided in every way she could for her daughter. In order for her to accomplish all of this she became one of the club whores but at a different level than most of them and some of the men of the MC realized that.
Colt came into Krista’s life on a night that her ex was about to break into her home. He became her knight in shining armor by knocking her ex out and taking her and her daughter, Becky back to the MC clubhouse she worked for in order to protect her and Becky. Colt was from the Demon’s Horde MC but happened to be at the Storm Kings MC to see if they were worthy to be patched over into the Demon’s. Colt came with his own baggage because his ex happened to be the person who turned him and some of his brothers in to the DEA which sent him to prison for a while and did damage to the Demon Horde. Now he was paying the price by being sent to the Storm Kings to see if he could redeem himself so he had a lot on the line. This betrayal by his ex made Colt question everything about whom he trusted…including the women who had made a big impression on him. Krista.
Colt came into this finding out that Krista worked for the Storm Kings as a bartender and someone who cleaned the clubhouse but had no idea what other services she provided for the men. What would happen when he learned the truth? By this time he had feelings growing for not only Krista but for her daughter as well. Would Colt be man enough to look past everything Krista had to do in order to provide for her daughter or would this be something that he couldn’t get past? Colt was there for a job on patching over the Storm Kings but they had problems with someone skimming money from the club and until he solved that dilemma he was in jeopardy of losing his patch within his own club. With the trust issues he had would he be able to let Krista into his heart and let the MC know that he wanted to claim her? This is where you felt your heart tearing right along with Krista’s and the author knew how to soothe your heart for a bit only to let it tear again. This first time author has me hooked and I can’t wait to read more from the Demon Horde.
I received this book from NetGalley as an ARC for a freely given honest review.
