This is a cute little book about a young girls morning ritual. She wakes up early ready to go but her parents are rather sluggish. She talks about brushing her teeth, getting dressed and having some breakfast. Her parents are moving slow, but she is ready to go. I think that parents will get a kick out of this book as they will be able to relate. Always happy to see a diverse character in a kids book.

Really cute artwork, but the words weren't as creative as I'd hoped. Still a solid book.

This book was frustrating. It had a good message about growing up, but half of it was rhyming and have was not. Just when you got use to the rhyming the sentences would change and you would want them to rhyme but they didn't.

Honestly rhyming is not a pre requisite to writing a children's book, but consistency would be nice,

This book is awesome. It’s a rhyming book about getting ready for school. One of the things i think makes this book special is the biracial family. It is not mentioned in the book, because it doesn’t need to be, but that being said, kids need to see more of it. Kids need books that speak to the life they live, and the life of their friends. It does not need to be overt, just normalized, and this book is a perfect example. More please.

4 & up. A charming and humorous story about an independent little girl who wants to get ready for the day all by herself. It's told from the point-of-view of a little girl whose parent's just can't seem to get as motivated in the mornings as she is. ;) It's sweet how confident the little girl is as she makes it through her morning tasks. She's oblivious to her parent's assistance and what might be causing their morning struggles! The illustrations are boldly colored and energetic. All the characters, especially the little girl, have so much personality. I really enjoyed this sweet picture book.

I loved this brave little girl that can do everything by herself. Though she's able to do it, she can still show her love and respect to her parents. Many of us forgot that before we finally able to stand on our own feet, there are two loving person that patiently teaches us. Most of us will run far and forgot to look back. That's why I like how this book shows a humble little smart kid. I also loved how some of the phrases rhyme with each other. The illustrations are also nice to see. Love it!

I wake with my bed buddies. I had a good sleep. Mommy and Daddy did not hear a peep. It’s a new day and I’m ready to go! But Mommy and Daddy are so very slow.
"For those parents who have lived through those frenzied mornings struggling to to get their little ones dressed and to school, My Good Morning is a humorous story of an energetic and independent little girl determined to get ready for the school day all by herself, while her parents fumble to get her through the morning ritual and off to school with minimal chaos," says author Kim Corson. "My inspiration to write this story came from my experiences with my daughter, who almost always wants to do everything by herself even if the result is incorrect, incomplete or worse yet, a fiasco."

A few things to like about this book:

The illustrations were lovely - full of colour and activity, the pictures were really the star of the show for me;
The rhyming made the story fun and interesting. I think young children will love the ebb and flow of this book.
A nod to diversity in this book made me rather happy as well. It wasn't direct or in your face, but it was there and it was appreciated.

The only let down for me was, at times, the rhyming flow was a littl awkward and I had to read a line once or twice more to get the feel for it.

Otherwise, a perfect little story about going to school - for those kids of yours who are about to go to school for the first time themselves.

I love kids books. I don't care what anyone thinks. They're a nice little cleanser between spates of being an adult.

I really enjoyed this book. It was cute, it was rhyming - easy for kids - and it told an important little story. It shows that singular point in a child's life where they walk into school for the first time and don't cry. That's a huge deal, right? Your child is no longer clawing at you to go home, but an independent little buzzbox fighting to make their own way in the world. That day is wrapped up in a neat little parcel of rhymes and cute pictures.

Thumbs up for subtle diversity, too.
