I have read all the books in the series. I remember when we first met David thinking there is going to be a good story there....and it was well worth the wait. the story started off with a bang! and yes that means exactly what you think it does......I like that David has know for a while that he wanted Camden and took the opportunity presented to go after her. Both characters were well developed, great backstories, the pace of the story was good, and the chemistry undeniable. There were some lovely moments and one of my favorite lines " one more day to live, one more opportunity to share out life with someone else, one more day to work to give the ones we love everything we possibly can" I am going to hold those words close.
4.5 stars - He is heir to a wealthy family business. He's also a doctor who is disheartened by all the loss he's witnessed and been unable to prevent. He comes to the Fireside cafe to help his good friend who just lost his son.
She is an accountant who's always lived a hard life and just wants to be secure. She's also trying to hide from the fear and shame that dogs her as a consequence of the almost raped that has crippled her since the age of 12.
There attraction is undeniable, but honesty and openness is not their strong suit. Thankfully, the pull they have on one another eventually wins out.
This is a delightful read overflowing with all the things you want in a romance.
If you buy it, you won't be disappointed.
I received an ARC of this book, via Net Galley, in exchange for a fair and honest review.
I fell in love with the series. Great characters and developed story lines.
3 1/2 stars! I really wanted to love this book. I enjoyed book 3 so much but I just couldn't get into this story. I didn't connect with Camden and David. The story felt rushed in some places but dragged in others. Overall, it was well written and did give another glimpse into the cast of Fireside characters.
I really enjoyed this book and the author's writing. I thought the characters were developed nicely. I liked the journey of David and Camden and how they fall for each other. How neither turns out to be whom the other person thought they were. They had so many components to them. It was a book I was happy to have read.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book provided by NetGalley.
I truly enjoyed this entire series!! This is definitely a book I would and have recommended to friends.
At the beginning of this book I didn’t think there would be anyway Camden could ever trust a man to have a full relationship with him. David, however, proved he and his family were exactly what Camden needed. Camden’s had a rough time too many times in her life to believe everything can always be happily ever after. The only thing I wish is that there had been some closure with Camden’s former boss. You’ll have to read the book to find out what I mean. So glad the epilogues were included!
His to seduce!!!!
This book was EVERYTHING!!! Being a huge fan of Stacey Lynn and definitely the Fireside series. She definitely writes love, loss, pain, insecurity and above all loyalty and friendship. Even knowing going into this authors world you know she's going to break your heart and make you bleed while putting your heart back together.
This book was written in Dual POV my personal favorite.
While this book could be read as a standalone I highly recommend reading the entire series to get embedded fully in the development of each subsequent book.
ER doctor David McGregor has come to the Fireside grill after the death of his best friends thirteen year old son. He has been tending bar a his friends restaurant helping out or that's what he's telling his friends. Camden who is a friend of the wives and fiancées of his best friends is cold and judgemental on the surface. David spends months trying to get her to notice him however, he needs her to see him not his inheritance or the MD after his name but the guy he is on the inside. Camden grew up with literally nothing and past hurts that have left deep scars. What happens when these two are thrown together in a tropical paradise while at a friends wedding? Here's where chemistry meets practical and Camden let's her guard down. Will she let him in? Will he show her what he's running from? This book will have you frustrated, swooning and wanting so much more. Go along to The Fireside Grill and see what waiting for you in the absolutely perfect book. Congrats on another book!!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Stacey Lynn Rocks!
This book was awesome from the front cover to the amazing ending. I didn't read her previous Fireside books. But I definitely am adding them to my TBR list. Even without reading the whole series I was able to follow along with no problem.
The summary of the book without giving away too much of the good stuff is David tries to seduce Camden on a vacation weekend in Jamaica. They both have lots of secrets they are keeping from each other. And when some are found out it pushes them apart and they have to work hard to make things work again.
This one is definitely worth the time to read. And the ending just makes your heart melt ❤️
Oh my goodness! I absolutely loved this book! I had a feeling Camden and David's story was going to send me on an emotional roller coaster but wow! Camden's story hits so very close to home for me. She and I share a very similar past so to see this through her eyes was gut wrenching and healing all at the same time.
I absolutely loved every word of this amazing story of struggle, heartbreak, healing and love! Stacey Lynn has this amazing ability to make you feel like you are part of the story. I laughed, I cried but I fell in love with their story immediately! Absolutely amazing!!!
His to Seduce follows the story of Camden and David. Being an ER Doctor is all David has wanted. For as long as he can remember, that has been his dream. However being a doctor takes a lot of toll on someone and for David, the guilt that comes along with the job is almost unbearable. So, David has fled to Michigan to help out an old friend. The change of pace is welcome for him and it doesn't hurt things at all when he meets Camden. There is just something about Camden. The pull almost impossible to fight...Camden is hard working and fiercely independent. The last thing on her radar is David. She thinks she knows his story, but she couldn't be more wrong. The tension between the two of them is intense and before Camden knows it, she's a slave to her feelings for David. He challenges her and pushes her limits. Will these two take a chance on love or are they only destined for a fling?
Overall, I thought this was a great book. I was pulled into David and Camden's story from the very first page. I loved the connection between the two of them and couldn't wait for them to explore it. I loved how real both of these characters were and how easy they were to connect with. Their story captivated me and had me turning the pages quickly to see just how everything would play out.
His to Seduce is a wonderful addition to the Fireside Series.
5 out of 5 stars
Honestly, Ms Lynn is becoming one of my favorite authors very quickly and this book is a perfect example of why. She can break your heart while you’re reading and then heal it as well. Her characters aren’t perfect, but their flaws make them all the more real.
David and Camden’s story was most definitely heartbreaking at times. I only wanted them to find happiness, and I cried right along with them when they were sad. As with the other Fireside books and the heroes, David is a protective alpha-like male, but he is also more more lighthearted and looking for the fun in life. Camden is hiding from life and doesn’t know what to think about liking…much less loving...David.
I love the secret thoughts of Ms. Lynn’s characters and Camden has some great ones. This is my favorite though...maybe my favorite from any of the Fireside girls:
Multiple orgasms...before last night they’d been as mythical as unicorns.
The story was paced well and we really got a great glimpse into this relationship we watched blossoming in the last book. My only complaint is that I wish there were more….I want another Fireside book with all the girls pregnant and having babies, but I want it told from the males’ points of view. Can you imagine all these guys and how they’d handle their women being pregnant and giving birth!?!
Sad that this series is over, but can’t wait to keep reading more work from this author! Wonderful story!!
The book blurb pulled me in and grabbed my interest in reading this story. Plus, I read and enjoyed the last book in this series. I found that this book, with its familiar characters, hot sex scenes, and cute couple, just to be an okay read for me. Something in this story left me wanting when I compared it to the last couple's story.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
This is the fourth in Stacey Lynn’s Fireside series about friends in a small midwestern town who hang out at the same bar. I’ve read three of the books in the series and really enjoyed them. You don’t need to have read the earlier books, but those characters show up in this one and there isn’t much backstory given for those characters so if that sort of thing annoys you, this isn’t for you. I usually just ignore it when authors do that, but I wish they would spare a few sentences to introduce characters instead of assuming that everyone has read their earlier works and remembers all the details.
In this story, the hero David McGregor is an ER doctor who has fled his career and former life because he had a hard time dealing with not being able to save so many of his patients. He’s working now as a bartender. The heroine, Camden Reed, had a troubled childhood and now is trying to take control of her life by being so organized and goal directed that nothing will distract her from her chosen path. And falling for a good-looking bartender is just not on her life lists because somehow she knows that bartenders can’t be trusted.
So of course she finds out that he isn’t a bartender and, instead of being happy that he isn’t the guy she thought, she’s ticked that he deceived her. Make up your mind, woman. I found her rather irritating, but David was a dream.
I did enjoy following along as the two work to overcome their issues and open up to love. This has been a fun series and I recommend this and other books.
I was given a free ARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
I just didn't like His to Seduce by Stacey Lynn. I actually gav be it two separate attempts, and after 7 chapters and hours later I dnf unfortunately. I appreciate the opportunity to read it though and thank Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for a honest review.
I am so sorry to see this series end. I LOVED this book. It was deep!! I admit that I shed a few tears, but it's inevitable when you're reading a book by Stacey Lynn (especially her Fireside Series.) I loved David and Camden. They were completely different, yet they were both hiding pain that halted their future. It was beautiful to see David slowly peeling back the walls that she's spent 16 years building.
Camden Reed, raised by a single mother in a trailer park, has lists for everything. Those lists are what helps with her sanity, she needs order and structure in her life. After suffering a traumatic experience when she was only 12, the lists help keep her focused. She's buttoned up in her conservative suits, hiding her beauty by pinning up her hair everyday. She has a good job, money to survive on, and food in her kitchen, she's come a long way from the trailer park.
When she meets David McGregor, the new bartender at the Fireside Grill, she immediately dislikes him, yet she can't stop looking at him. He's gorgeous, confident, cocky, and arrogant. She refuses to date a bartender, but her friends don't know the real reason why that is, and it has nothing to do with her "because they aren't stable" line she feeds her friends. It stems much deeper than that.
David McGregor, former doctor/now bartender is keeping a secret from his friends. After losing a patient during surgery, the same night that he received news that Aiden's son, Derrick, died; he walked away from medicine all together. The guilt that has been eating away at him for months is finally coming to a head.
While in Jamaica for Blue and Tyson's wedding, Cam and David end up in bed and stay there all weekend. But lying to her doesn't end well. When someone in the restaurant has a seizure and David jumps into Dr mode, she finds out who he REALLY is.
He comes from one of the wealthiest families in the world, she a trailer park. Can these two make it work?
4 "I want it all." Stars
Once again, Stacey Lynn delivers a romance with the right amount of push and pull between the main characters and whilst both are running from their pasts, holding back events that have changed their lives and led them to the point they're at in life now, it wasn't a heavy story. Far from it, because David and Camden are passionate from the word go.
"Tonight would be hours of slowness, hours of me taking my time...bringing her over the edge over and over again."
David was perfect, he may have his secrets but he wears his heart on his sleeve and has the most perfect bedside manner. I love a man who makes his intentions clear yet is patient at the same time, and he is irresistible.
“You’ll always come first with me, Camden.”
What I have to applaud Stacey Lynn for though is how likeable she made Camden: in the previous booked I wasn't overly taken with her, but this was turned on it's head. Yes she is frustrating at times, yet her reasoning, despite the double standards that come into play, were relatable and understandable bringing an emotional angle.
"Thank you for being you."
I have to say though, as lovely as the ending to His to Seduce was was, it still felt unfinished for me and I would've liked to have seen how things played out further down the line for other character being the end of the Fireside series. But I guess that comes down to personal preference; overall it was a delight to read and as I still have the first two books in the Fireside series to read, I'm glad my time with characters isn't over just yet.
Another incredible story in the Fireside Series. The long awaited story of David and Camden. I absolutely loved this book. This book is totally David and Cam.
On a spur of the moment wedding trip to Jamaica, David and Cam finally hook up. In the closet... in a hallway... David has been waiting for 5 months for Cam. Patiently. Now that he has her, he's got the weekend to prove to her that they're worth it. Cam's inner dialogue is hilarious at times, she's the one out of all the girls who's wrapped as tight as the bark on a birch tree. Cam doesn't deviate, takes no risks, she makes lists, insists on order and she doesn't hook up with men in closets.
David sets about to change that, pushing Cam out of her very tightly woven comfort zone and it's great to watch these two together. Cam tells herself it's only one night, but then she relents to him.
They both have secrets. David is a bartender at Fireside. The guys know his past and why he's there and it's alluded to in a couple earlier books. But outside of that he hasn't told anyone because he doesn't want to go there. Cam's secret in painful and only two people know, her best friend Suzanne and her mother.
These two spend a large part of the book working through their "sharing" of those stories and it's David who allows himself to be vulnerable first after having his hand forced, it sends Cam running for the hills. Literally. This book was great because it was good to hear the men weigh in on the situation. Especially Aiden who pulled no punches with David. The girls were a little peripheral in this one except Chelsea. David takes her home to meet his family, which he warns her is a little wild and it's there she sees what a real family is like and how it feels to be loved and accepted just the way she is. His mother was perfect and I loved his sister.
Cam makes the road back to her rough for David. Even after him telling her his story, she's still withholding from him. The sex is hotter than hell, because Stacey can write some smoking hot scenes and this book isn't short on those either. They're woven nicely into the book. Just bring a panty change.
I loved David in this story, Cam too. Despite wanting to knock her upside the head once or twice, she's a tad slow on the uptake. But this book as is the rest of this series, is stellar. Stacey Lynn can write a great story and it's a character read. These people have real lives and relevant issues and are dealt with as such. It's perfect from beginning to end.
I'm sad to see this series end. Thank you Stacey Lynn for a great ride through the lives of everyone in this series. It's a must read series.

Absolutely Fantastic!
What a great book to end the series with. And as much as I loved His To Seduce I am very sad to see the series come to an end. These are wonderful characters and I have loved each one of their stories. Even though this is a series, you don't have to read the others before diving into this. This was David and Camden's book.
Finally we get why Camden is the way she is. All though this series we've wondered about her so now we have it. After a tragic childhood Camden has closed herself off. Getting through the days and just surviving is all she's know for years. Curious about a certain bartender but she doesn't know if she can open herself up to let him in.
David is running. Running from a heritage and a profession that he isn't even sure he wants anymore. Helping his buddy run his bar he meets a intriguing beautiful woman who won't give him the time of day.
His To Seduce is a sexy heart felt Book. Of course like every other book in the series I cried. Why Stacey why?? Do you do this to us? The writing is beautiful and the story uplifting. I adore these people, thank you Stacey Lynn for bringing their stories to us.
David returns to Michigan to avoid his demons and works as a bartender in his friend’s restaurant. This is where he meets Camden. She has struggled to rise from poor roots, determined to better herself. Despite the chemistry between her and David, she avoids any relationship with him because he is a bartender.
Their chemistry is too hard to resist, David pushes and brings Camden out of her comfort zone. However, secrets have a way of being exposed when least expected. Despite these obstacles, they learn to trust each other and work towards their happy ending. I could not put this book down it was a compulsive read that was in turns happy, frustrating, and sexy.
