Loved this book !!!! This was a fantastic quick an easy read for me. I literally devoured it in a matter of hours. From the get go I was hooked.
Jenny is rushing to an interview and runs into this arrogant, cocky asshole. Some banter and quick witted comebacks and spewed at each other and they go their separate ways. She makes it to her interview and sure enough that cocky asshole she has the run in with turns out to be her new boss.
First, let's start off by saying I love asshole characters, Ethan was moody, broody and sometimes deserved to be punched in the junk. Jenny was just the person to do that and it made for such an entertaining read. Between their verbal sparring and the sexual tension that was off the charts in this book we also had some very heart warming moments knowing why Jenny chose to work there.
Ethan will surprise you with his sweet secretive ways. When they do drop the gloves so to speak it ends up being a whole lotta HOT STEAMY MOMENTS that will have you thinking they will burn that office building down. I mean DAYUMMMM !!!!
There are also some secondary characters in this that I absolutely loved. Ethan's best friend Matt was hilarious at times, and completely awesome as was Jenny's best friend Kelsey. They both had me chuckling at times and provided some FUNNY AS HELL moments.
This story flowed from beginning to end for me. Funny in the right moments, tragic and sweet in others and had characters that you found yourself invested in from beginning to end. I would definitely recommend this to those looking for something that will have you hooked from the beginning to the very end.
I truly hope that we see a book about Matt and Kelsey. Hopefully together.
A 4.5 Star Read for me.

Dear Mr. Howell,
Yes, that’s right. I am writing a letter to you instead of a more traditional review. It’s unorthodox, but hey, it’s mine and I’ll write what I want to. *cue 80’s dance party music* I have been following your hilarious posts on Facebook for quite some time yet I had never picked up a book of yours. I am currently kicking myself for this oversight. Like hard enough that my grandkids will feel it some day.
Color me surprised when I saw Bossed on Netgalley a few weeks back. I thought, “Now is my chance to give your books a try.” I requested and shortly had it in my hands. The suspense of what it’s digital pages killed me enough that I snuck off into a quiet place at work and devoured every f-ing word. Your characters were charming and exhausting, but the humor is what hooked me. Well, that is until the ending broke my “non-emotional” flood gates.
Jenny became my spirit animal.
Like her, I struggled with my father’s illness and balancing my work life. Reading her fictional plight took me back to those long days of work and going to my parent’s or the hospital to relieve whoever had the day shift with Dad. That part. That amazingly emotional part of this story is what made me love this book. The humor, the angst, and the romance were all side boos to Jenny and her dad. Her story is so similar to countless others in real life right now.
Bossed is by far one of the best books I have ever read even if part of the plot line revolved around baseball. Sorry, but I’m a football girl at heart. My next letter will be a two-part apology for that and my love of pineapple on pizza.
To summarize this long-winded semi-review. Buy this book. You will not regret it. Just like I don’t regret ordering that Hawaiian pizza right now.

This book is everything I hoped for with a Sloane Howell traditionally published book!
It is REAL! You don't feel like "omg that could never happen in real life, he/she would never say that etc...
They story is sweet and sexy and pulls at your heart strings.
I really enjoyed the characters first meeting it starts out cute and a bit cliché they literally run into each other on the street and he turns out to be the head honcho of the company she is on her way to interview with, but then in true Sloane style, the heroine turns around and rips the Hero a new one and completely bests him at his own game of baseball stats.
The Sexual tension is off the charts.
The hero has some issues with dating someone in the work place that lead to some pretty big screw ups in their relationship and by 50% through the story you want to shake him until he understands how badly he is messing up! Luckily his best friend Matt seems to know a lot more about love and can steer him in the right direction.
The heroine has a lot going on in her life, like a new job for a jerk that she can't afford to quit because medical bills are piling up from her terminally ill father. Obviously she is stressed and makes some not ideal decisions in their relationship ( but with all that going on who wouldn't be abut emotionally unstable!)
But overall this book is extremely well written and it feels like this is something that could happen to me or someone I know!
Sometimes Sloanes books are a little too real with the "guy talk" but I think this book perfectly balances out the real without being over the top, my favorite line is a perfect example “It’s okay. You’ll get used to your other half knowing more than you.” He shook his head. “Such a dick.” ". <<<< honestly who hasn't called their significant other a d**k before!!!
The best friends of the H/h really need their own books! I just adore Matt and I hope he gets his own book!

I enjoyed this book. I was surprised to find out the author was male. It had all the hallmarks of s classic contemporary romance. I loved how smart the heroine was. I liked that we got the heroes point of view, otherwise I would not have liked his attitude

Ethan owns a top agency that finds and contracts baseball players. He is known as a real prick of a boss. Sloane applies for a job there to work numbers and stats for the agents. When she finds that the man she ran into on the street on the way into the interview is, actually, the boss, she stops being nervous and becomes her natural snarky self. During the interview in the boardroom with many people loking on, she actually makes Ethan look foolish with her encyclopedic knowledge of baseball stats. She gets the job but, Ethan is immediately fascinated by her and infuriated with her when she refuses to back down whenever she sees him insulting other employees. The heat between these two is offthe charts but, they both have bad childhood histories that they have to work through the hard way. Is love worth all this pain? I absolutely loved this book!

I always enjoy the stories that come out of Sloane Howell’s world. Bossed was no exception. The chemistry between Jenny and Ethan was instant and sparks flew from the very beginning of the book. The secondary characters were likable and funny, can’t wait to read more of their stories.
Way to hit it out of the park!

Fun, flirty read that had a lot packed into the story. While the storyline was interesting, the behavior of the two main characters seemed a bit over the top at times. Otherwise was a good read that I'd recommend to others.

Bossed by Sloane Howell is a one naughty of a boss-to-lovers contemporary romance.
The chemistry between Ethan and Jenny was electric and I totally enjoyed the banter and interactions between the two. However, with that being said, these two characters just didn’t seem to stay consistent in their behaviors. Ethan, an alpha male, CEO of a major corporation who strikes the fear of all into everyone turns into a lil kitten in his actions towards Jenny shortly after meeting her while Jenny on the other hand, being desperate for her job with Ethan’s company, was so completely opposite in her actions and was all in his face, undermining of her employer, back talking etc. that were one really as desperate as she was, would never have acted on. Outside of that, the writing was really good and you did get some feels out of the story with Jenny’s dad’s illness and such. I liked the story as it was a nice escape from reality.

3.5 Stars
It took me a while to get to this book but I regret not getting to it sooner. Ethan is an alpha male that just doesn't want to open himself up. But when Jenny crosses his path in the park he doesn't know what to do with himself. And when she is interviewed for a position on his staff he fights to keep her off his staff because he knows that there is something there. His past didn't set the best example for relationships. But will he be able to keep his feeling, or whatever they are in check or will Jenny bust thru all of his walls and bring him great joy.
Jenny needs this job to help pay for her father's medical bills. The only parent left in her life and their time together is limited. So getting this job is crucial to spending more time with him. It's the perfect fit, for them to talk about sports. But when she becomes flustered by the owner will she be able to focus on the job? Will she loose precious time?
This story has angst, passion, remorse, sorrow, loss, and love. It's a beautiful journey to see Ethan come out of his shell and I love his best friend Matt. Jenny is so adorable but I feel like she is also hiding behind something. And there are times that you root for them and then want to slap their head together all in the same chapter. The tender moments that aren't about passion but about compassion are breathtaking. Well written.

I so badly want to give this book a low star rating for making me have feelings, but the truth is that Bossed is one of Sloane Howell's best works. A contemporary romance at its core, Bossed features Sloane's famous witty dialogue, hilarious interactions, and heartfelt moments. Though the book is one that is already known as a "love-it or hate-it" kind of novel with Sloane's longtime fans, contemporary romance readers will not be disappointed in Sloane's newest release with Loveswept. The romance is forbidden, the female heroine is a bullheaded beauty, and the alpha-male shines with every reader's handsome looks and cocky attitude.
'"I wanted you.'
Gravel. His voice was gravel."
Ethan is the owner of an incredibly successful sport's agency with an incredible chip on his shoulder and a true lack of empathy. His past has defined how he's looked at the word and how he's treated others around him, at least until Jenny. Jenny's all about family and sports, she's spent the vast majority of her time caring for her ailing father, but a job opportunity that could change their finances can't be passed up, even if it comes from the jerk she spit word-venom at on the sidewalk. What starts as lust at one another's looks soon turns into complete desire, as each unveils the true character of one another. Their attraction, though immediate, is not one of insta-love and is built upon as they work together, meet on more personal levels, and as other angst-driven plots take place.
"He was getting close. Close enough to hurt me for sure, but I couldn't stop him if I tried."
Though I have minor complaints about both Ethan and Jenny's character development, I found myself forgetting those minor details as I was swept up in the story of lust, love, and baseball. While the majority of the story focuses on the romance, Sloane also included minor plots focused around family and friendship, specifically those of Jenny's father and best friend Kelsey, and the friendship Ethan shares with childhood friend, Matt. The secondary characters provided the layers that the main characters lacked, allowing the reader to fully understand the ins and outs of why both Ethan and Jenny are so closed off and why their connection isn't as easy a road as most contemporary romances have. The drama between these two is at times immature and highly insensitive when you consider their level of care for one another, but as far as romance novels go, there are definitely more novels out there with more nonsensical angst-driven plots. Then there's the smut, you know there had to be some! Sloane Howell can write the dirty with the best of them, these two are down and dirty, and while at times I felt they allowed it to be the priority of the connection, it also brought down the walls of each as they were vulnerable to one another in the barest of ways. The novel was equally as sexy as it was emotional, while also being sports and office-relationship driven.
"I'll be wherever you want me to be."
So, you're wondering about why I could possibly give a low rating after reading all that good, right? Sloane knows...and you'll know too if you read this book. I had tears rolling down my face by the end, I honestly considered quitting the book at the part I considered the best, but I continued because Bossed really is that good, from beginning to end. It isn't Sloane's normal fare, but it does incorporate his well-known and well-liked style of blunt humor, character banter, and the smut readers only dream about. I was highly impressed with the plot and I liked that Sloane gave us a driven, smart female heroine, even if she was a bit crazy when it came to Ethan. I can't wait to see what else Sloane has for readers who are fans of contemporary romance.

Sloane Howell has been in my Twitter feed a lot since I started book blogging, but until Bossed, I had never had the pleasure of reading one of his books. I was really missing out!
Bossed is an office romance about two strong-willed people who have very different ways of doing things. Ethan is a hard-nosed boss who expects a lot from his employees. He's not always the nicest guy, but he has their best interests at heart. Jenny is a new employee who thinks her co-workers deserve to be treated better. Ethan's tactics infuriate her, and she has no problem letting him know. Their constant facing off has them both hot and bothered.
I was so impressed with Bossed and Howell's writing. He rocked the first person, dual point of view narration. I've read many contemporary romances by women where they write from a male point of view, but I don't know that I've read many of a female one written by a man. Honestly, I wouldn't have been able to tell if a man or woman wrote this book. Hopefully, that doesn't sound bad. It's meant to be a compliment. I was super impressed with how he wrote a female character.
Every single character and moment in this story was amazing. Jenny and Ethan both had tough pasts to deal with. Jenny also had a tough present. Their problems didn't stop the chemistry from flowing between them from the moment they met. The push and pull of their relationship was very fun. It made the dialog between them incredibly witty and entertaining. I also loved the ups and downs of their relationship.
While I loved Jenny and Ethan's relationship, there was something I loved even more about this book. There was great mixture of sports, family, and friendship involved in it. I loved how they both went to their friends for advice, and the strength of Jenny's relationship with her dad. I also loved that Jenny and Ethan had more than great sex in common. Their shared love of baseball was cool. I felt like if they were a real life couple, they would make it because it wasn't all about the sex -- even if that was off the charts sexy!
Bossed was as close to contemporary romance perfection as it could get. It was witty, sexy and had just the right amount of drama. It even made me tear up a bit. Contemporary romances readers are sure to love it.

This book was so good!! Jenny and Ethan got off on such the wrong foot with each other, to see them have to work around it to work together made for such a good story. The chemistry between the two was very hot! I thought the story line was very well developed and very well written. I definitely would recommend this book and look forward to more from this author in the future. '
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book provided by NetGalley.

This book was a mixed bag for me and, as a result, I enjoyed it but didn't love it.
Jenny is a bookkeeper that desperately needs a job and Ethan owns a sports management company. They have a chance encounter on the street and then see each other again when Jenny enters the interview room.
The sparks fly between them and, if it had continued along those lines, I would have given this five stars. Unfortunately, despite the great start, Ethan was quickly revealed to be an arrogant ass, or, in my favorite almost new word, an alphahole. Now matter what the situation, his is the only opinion that matters, he cannot make a mistake, and his upbringing is the only one relevant. I was sick of his arrogance before I was halfway through the book.
Jenny is feisty, smart, and smart mouthed. I loved her witty banter, but was disappointed by the extreme liberties she took at the job. It was so over the top unrealistic that it detracted from the story.
Jenny and Ethan begin a very hot romance with plenty of dirty sex that is a bit naughty. This is not for the younger readers and recommend readers be 18+.
I gave this three stars because, despite the above, the author is a talented writer. I suspect that her intent was to exaggerate the characters to create a more entertaining novel and I believe that many readers will love this book. I would definitely read more by her and look forward to reading her next book.

This is the first book I have read by Sloane Howell and it won't be my last. It was very emotion and Howell pulled me in from the first chapter! Ethan and Jenny are an unlikely duo who somehow make it work! The secondary characters really gave an extra layer to the book as well.

I went in with the hope that this will be requiring a 4 or 5 stars review..
The blurb was really appealing but the story was so predictable and plain..I mean it was like many other stories with a similar theme..

Loved it!
So, why is Bossed amazing? Because it centers around two very well-developed, richly textured characters who feel real. Howell makes you feel like you're sitting in the cube beside Julie as Ethan flys off the handle about her less than stellar work. Or like you're in the living room with Jenny's dad as he belly-aches about the girls talking about sex. Oh, and the story is smoking hot and full of secondary characters I want to learn all about when they (hopefully) star in their own full length stories.
Sloane Howell can safely add another fan to his list of admirers. I'm hooked.
As a side note: Not until I read the author's short bio did I realize he's a dude. That's refreshing and perfect, really. It may seem sexist, but the male romance authors I’ve read before are often too... aggressive is the term that comes to mind. Not because their writing includes scary BDSM shenanigans necessarily, but because they write sex scenes filled with things that guys like, but most women I know find foolish or unpleasant. They seem to be writing these scenes for heterosexual men, but put nearly naked men on the cover as though the book is intended for women. Hallelujah, none of that tomfoolery is found here.
I received an ARC of this book, via Net Galley, in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I'm having a tough time not tearing this book apart. I've read 58% and just can't go on (even though I greatly appreciate the opportunity to read it!). Maybe I'm too old for the intended age of the reader (47), but I'm scared that real 20/30 somethings really speak and act the way these characters do. Put that aside, No one would speak to each other the way these 2 people do--not in my world anyway. They blame their problems on having a parent leave them at an early age--okay I'm sure they grow from this, but come on. The dirty talk seems excessive and gratuitous. And come on, they are young but not rabbits--even youngsters get a little tired once in a while. The message seems to be, be strong and independent until some "hot" man orders you to be otherwise. Poor hot man, his mommy left him when he was young, so he has the right to treat people badly. Even the cover with the smirking guy on it bothers me...I don't mind not liking characters if the story is well-written and compelling, and I don't like to be too harsh because I can't write more than my name on a piece of paper, but this book was so infuriating! Take the story parts out and just read the well-crafted sex scenes if that is what you are interested in--take them out and the story is about a misogynistic (sp?!), entitled man and his unrefined, yet "intelligent" girlfriend. Thank you for the free read, but no thanks. Sorry to be so harsh. I just was so disgusted by this story.

This was fun and flirty and I was happy to read a romance written by a male author! While some of the drama felt off to me (use your words, adults!) but I liked a lot of the chemistry. Recommended for fans of contemporary romance with sassy characters and wounded heroes.

Jenny Jackson is caring for her terminally ill father and needs to land the job working Ethan Mason's sports agency. Ethan is the owner of Mason and Associates. He is also a cold and unlikable man in the office. The first meeting between the two does not go well but his private side comes out during this story. Although there were still times that I really didn't care for Ethan I loved Jenny. She had grit and courage and determination. The story is fast paced and except for one part of the story where Ethan stays away from Jenny (when I think it would have been more in character for him to come to her) I enjoyed this book.
