I really enjoyed every moment of this book! It was witty, had a ton of heart, and likable characters. What more could you ask for?

I thought the book was ridiculous with a disrespectful employee (Jenny) and Ethan who was Human Resources nightmare of a boss. Then as a sign of the times, he hides out at home to avoid Jenny...A putz. Not very romantic of a man or a book.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC from Netgalley.
I've never read Sloane Howell before, but it certainly won't be my last time. Who doesn't love a sassy, smartmouthed & intelligent heroine?? This book had it all. Wonderful characters, exciting dialogue, backtalking employee & of course, the smoking HOT done for employer.
If you're looking for all the above, this right here is the book you want. You won't be disappointed! I wasn't.

Well well well Mr. Howell you may have just made me shed a tear or two!
There's so much that I enjoyed about this book. We'll start with Jenny.... she's a strong woman, raised by her dad with no mother. She knows her baseball, she's good with numbers and she can dish out a come back faster than you can. She's been taking care of her sick dad and the bills are piling in.
Jenny finds herself in an interview with her possible future boss. She may have literally ran into him before and not so good impressions were made. Fast forward to the now and she's working for that prick.... But it's double the salary and she'll do what she has to do to help her dad.
That's my second favorite thing about this book- Jenny and her dad's relationship. They made me smile, laugh, and cry. Kelsey, Jenny's best friend, fit right in just like a second daughter.
"God help me. Dad looked up to the ceiling. I took two innocent young girls and turned them into frat boys."
Jenny and Ethan's relationship is..... complicated. Ethan is the boss, trying to maintain that hard ego act in front of his employees. Actually, he's just good at being the poss period. Especially in the bedroom. Jenny and Ethan go through a lot together... work, life, love, and loss. Trying to balance it all isn't easy, there's a lot of give and take and they're really tested to their breaking points.
"Regiments, planning- my life was one big itenerary. Until she came along and trashed everything like the Rolling Stones in a hotel room."
I found myself smiling like an idiot through most of this book. It's sweet, it's smokin hot, it's funny, and even emotional. The secondary characters are right up there at the top of the likable charts. I can't wait to see what's to come in Scored!
My rating 5/5 stars
*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Many thanks for allowing me to read this book.

My first Sloane Howell read and I'm pretty sure it won't be my last. Told in dual POV the story follows Jenny Jackson who doesn't take any cr*p off anyone, and successful sexy Ethan Mason who likes order in his life and runs his business in military style fashion. He's dispassionate and bordering on cruel to his staff, but when he hires feisty, no nonsense Jenny, things start to change. Their exchanges are volatile, the sex is passionate. He doesn't give in to anyone, until Jenny, but even then relationships aren't really their thing so they mess up considerably. How many times can you quit your job Jenny? I loved the writing, the story and the characters, and I really do hope for a more in-depth look into Matt and Kelsey. Light reading and a true feel good book with just a little heartache in the mix.

I really loved this book - our hero and heroine are both pretty damn spunky and both hurting. There's a happy ever after, but they have to go through hell and back to get there.

Interesting read, I will have a review posted on ibooks on release week!

**Advanced copy received from the publisher and NetGalley for an honest review**
Jenny Jackson needs a job. It's really as simple as that. Her father is ailing and medical bills are piling up and he is the only family she has outside of her best friend, who also helps to care for him. On the morning of a job interview, Jenny literally runs into one of the most attractive men she's ever laid eyes on, and the chemistry is there nearly immediately, but so is the man's attitude. And it's not a good one.
When Jenny arrives at the interview and realizes the man the encountered was the owner of the agency she hopes to work for, she's less than thrilled. And his attitude toward his employees is so harsh that Jenny calls him out during her interview. She's definitely a sassy, stick to your guns kind of woman.
Ethan Mason has his reasons for acting and running his business like he does. He's seen as cold and demanding to say the least, but there is something about Jenny Jackson that gets under his skin. While he tries to maintain his usual aloofness and separation, he's constantly drawn to Jenny and finally lets her know it.
This book is full of a roller coaster of emotions and plenty of hotness, and I mean HOTNESS! Both Jenny and Ethan have their moments where you'd like to look at them and go "what are you thinking?!", but we all have those moments every day. In the end, will these two be able to get out of their own way and find a way to utilize that chemistry?
I really enjoyed the characters of Kelsey and Matt, Jenny and Ethan's best friends respectively. I'd love for them to get stories, whether together or separately. I think those would definitely be worth a read. This was my first Sloane Howell book, but it definitely will not be my last!

Bossed is an amazing read. From the very start it grabs your attention. I got to say that the first meeting between Jenny and Ethan has got to be the must explosive I have ever read. I was dying from laughter, I felt there attraction, and I think that has to be the greatest "meet" ever. From there the book just kept on giving me all the feels. Fyi there is minimal baseball for the non sport fans like myself! While there were some pretty impressive terms that would appeal to sport lovers it totally added to the book authenticity. I think it is a huge testament to Howells writing that he made me tear up during a baseball scene. That is tallent! I loved love love the dynamic between Jenny and Ethan. So enjoyable it was read in one shot. Definitely a must read.

Office romances are a classic favorite and this one did not disappoint. I loved that the main female character was so strong. She stood up to the hero and didn't let him treat her or anyone else with anything other than respect. This was a story about learning to be a better person and learn to things go. A fun, enjoyable read that will be a tant favorite for many readers.

Bossed is a cute story of a avid baseball fan accountant and her fiery responses to her know it all boss. The tension is thick, the snark is spot on, and the emotional turmoil is real. Overall, bossed is a great story that will have you begging for more.

Great book! JJ is such a strong, feisty, character. In the beginning, when Ethan was mocking her with the sign language....That was hilarious! I love her "give it right back" attitude.

Overall, I thought this book was an ok read. I thought the story was well written and flowed nicely. Bossed is a quick read that can be finished in just a few short hours. In the beginning, I was really intrigued by Ethan and Jenny. I thought the two of them had really great chemistry and I loved the tension between the two of them. Their banter was very entertaining and I thought that they both gave as good as they got and I think it kept the story really interesting.
However, I did have a few issues with the story. I felt like a lot of the drama in the story was unnecessary and at times, a little over the top. Anytime there was a misunderstanding, both characters would act without thinking and it annoyed me that Jenny never would listen to Ethan when he tired to explain himself. Once or twice, I understand. But, it was every single time. She only really listened to him when his friend Matt would intervene. I guess, I wanted to see more of the two of them working through their issues and hearing each other out without other people trying to save the day.
Bossed is my first book by this author, and while I did have some issues with this story, I still found it to be an enjoyable read. For the most part, it was a steamy and fun read, it just had a little too much unnecessary drama for my tastes. I'm still glad that I took and a chance and checked this book out. I would still be open to reading more from this author in the future.

Loved this story!! I have never read anything by this author but that is going to change! Ethan is a hard ass sports agent who is knocked on his own ass when he meets Jenny. She will not take his crap and he doesn't know what to do with this gorgeous sassy employee. But he learns quickly what he want to do.
Great story, great characters, and a power house story line!

I enjoyed every second of this book. The banter between the two main characters is so much fun. I love a strong, smart-mouthed heroine who can hold her own, and Jenny is definitely that. This book is a nice blend of humor, smokin' hot romance, and angst. I stayed up late into the night reading it, which is something I seldom do; I just could not put it down. I have to admit that if I'd known the author was a man, I might have passed on this one. I am SO glad I didn't. This author is amazing and has made me rethink my whole stance on romance writers. I definitely look forward to reading more by Mr. Howell.

I'm a huge fan of workplace romances and Bossed did not disappoint. I loved Jenny and Ethan's first, and awkward, meeting, which only turns more awkward a few moments later. While I do think they fell into each other too fast, it's a book, so no big deal.
My only real issue with Bossed is how on two separate occasions one of them flew off the handle in a completely unreasonable manner. Jenny's was the worse of the two and even in that situation, it seemed super extreme.
Jenny and Ethan make a super cute pair and loved their passion for each other and the game of baseball.

I'd give this a solid 3 1/2 stars. Jenny and Ethan have a lot of chemistry and lots of verbal foreplay takes place. The secondary characters of Kelsey and Matt are quite likable and I hope they get stories of their own, together or separate. I will admit I cried at a certain point in this book, I'm sure y'all will figure it out when you read it. There isn't a lot of angst here, just miscommunication and personal issues(but nothing crazy) clouding their happy highs. All in all I enjoyed it and would be interested in the next book for sure.
I was gifted an advance reader copy in exchange for a honest review via Netgalley.

3.5 star
Bossed is the story of Jenny and Ethan. When Jenny and Ethan meet, it is not under the best circumstances. They literally bump into each other and Ethan dismisses Jenny like she is a waste of his time and was very rude. Jenny does not take too kindly to this and tells Ethan exactly how she feels about him. Fast forward a few pages. Jenny is now on a job interview and the CEO is none other than Ethan. For some crazy reason. Jenny;s sassy attitude catches Ethan's attention and her hires her on the spot.
I loved the witty banter that Jenny and Ethan had at the beginning. It was all electric. Then, Ethan turns into a softy and Jenny is kind of a drama queen. Jenny dad is sick, and she asks for time off. A lot of time. I thought, wow, she just started a new job and then she wants time off left and right...
And she quits... a lot. Every time they fight she quits.
I started off strong for me but then was like ....... kind of off.

All I can say is that I absolutely loved this book. Ethan has trust issues galore. Jenny just didn't take any crap for him. A must read...
