Awesome read! I have a favorite new author. This book has it all, love, steamy sex & baseball- a girl can't ask for more.
Ethan & Jenny have instant chemistry & their desire leaps off the page. I stayed up way too late reading their story. I loved watching these two spare with each other & then fall in love.
I can't wait to read the next book in the series!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I'm going to be completely honest here and tell you that I've read a couple of things from Sloane Howell before and it really wasn't my cup of tea. One was a collaboration and the other was a novella. However, I wanted to give BOSSED a try because I like the asshole boss who falls heard and I'm happy I did. I really enjoyed it.
Jenny Johnson has been searching for a better job in order to help pay for her father's medical bills. As she is getting ready to go to her interview, she knocks into quite possibly the most handsome man she has ever seen. A man who is a complete asshole. Fast forward to her interview and he's the boss of the very job she is trying to get. After an intense and frustrating interview, she actually gets the job and now the two of them have to fight off their growing attraction for this taboo relationship.
Here's the thing about BOSSED, Ethan is a complete asshole most of the time. At least until he finally lets Jenny into his world and his heart. There's something about assholes that just calls to me. I think I like the fact that when they fall, they fall hardd and the reward is so much better. Oh and his dirty mouth....whew. HOT!
The banter in this book is so fun and hilarious. I really enjoyed the whit that both Jenny and Ethan had. Add that to a part sports romance story line and I found myself devouring this book. I loved the baseball parts of it. Especially Jenny and her father. Their bond is over baseball and I loved when we got pieces of them together.
I also enjoyed Matt, Ethan's best friend, and I hope we get his story. He put Ethan in his place when he needed it but you could tell what a great friend he was and the lengths of things he would do for him.
Overall, I enjoyed this book and I'm so happy I gave it a go. If you are looking for a fun, taboo office romance with great banter, and equally strong hero/heroine, then this is absolutely the book for you.

This was a new author for me and it was a good start!
It was a fast paced story with high emotions running through.
I wasn't a fan of the regularity the F word was used, but all in all it was well written.
I look forward to reading more from this author and am left wanting to know more about the best friend Matt!

Oh my God, this book was so hot!!! I'm almost ashamed to say this but this was my first book by this author and now I'm going to go and more from him. I loved Jenny! She is snarky, sassy and knows her baseball. She keeps Ethan on his toes for sure. She isn't the type to sugarcoat anything. She's the perfect person for him,I swear. Ethan is sexy but he has his issues. Mostly due from his mom. His sexy friend Matt, hands him a healthy dose over and over of the hard truth. He even makes him do things from romantic movies. I seriously loved everything about this book and can't wait to read Matt & Kelsey's book next.

I liked this book a lot, but I just didn't love it. The first half or so was a five star read, and then the rest was a three star read.

What do you do when you can't stand your boss because he drives you crazy? What do you do when you fall for the one woman you shouldn't.
A story with heat, sexy banter and lots of baseball to drive a girl crazy ;)
Don't miss this must read from Sloane Howell. You will laugh, cry and rejoice when you discover how fabulous this book is!
If you're looking for a book that blends romance with baseball and enough heat to warm you up on a cool winter night...download this book!

This was a funny and entertaining read. Jenny’s spunk and the way she handles Ethan is funny. The way they met and the sparks that flew between the two was hot. Love how she helped him through his insecurities. Once they spend time together the both realized that they have a lot in common and their love is worth fighting for. Recommended read.

This is the first book I have read by this author and it won't be the last. This book had it all, laugh out loud moments, it was fun, hot and a little bit sad, I was hooked from the very first page.
The characters have chemistry and are very loveable and once you mix in the humour with the hot scenes add in just the right amount of angst you have the perfect read.
Sloane Howell knows just how to translate his witty humour and dirty mind onto paper and I'm certainly going to be checking out his other books.
Great book and a must read

Bossed is a standalone romance from Sloane Howell, and it was so enjoyable that I have added her to my author watch list. It was such a fun, flirty well-written novel. I was so appreciative of the entertainment provided by her engaging, multi-layered characters, both primary and secondary. The story was well balanced in character/sex/romance that it was a fast, easy read. There is chemistry and tension abounding in this book. If you like a strong story, well drawn characters and a sports theme, I very much feel confident in a recommendation for Bossed.

I was excited to read Bossed as this was my first Sloane Howell book and I was eager to jump on board this office romance. Ethan and Jenny were snarky, sexy and their banter was out of control sexy.
Unfortunately, halfway through it seemed like both protagonists had personality transplants. Jenny turned into a combative and shrill person lashing out and honestly (I.M.O.) overreacting childishly over a ruse Ethan played to get closer to her. It was so over the top I was cringing. Likewise, Ethan stopped being a cocky, overconfident SOB/alpha boss and turned into a meek, insecure person, afraid to face the heroine, hiding out in his apartment binging on takeout. It just went downhill so fast my head spun.
All in all, I give this novel 3 stars because it started out fantastic but then kind of imploded.

Jenny Jackson needs this job. She has limited time with her father and the medical bills are piling up. Of course on the day she's going for an interview for the job of her dreams does everything go wrong, including running into an arrogant asshole that wasn't ready for Jenny's quick wit. Apparently Jenny Jackson can dish it out just as well as she can take it. And that's my kind of heroine!
Imagine her surprise when she walks into her interview to discover the same prick that she met earlier. Jenny already knows what direction this interview is going to go; straight to the crapper. So Jenny wastes no breath on what she thinks of the pompous Ethan Mason, and schools him like a boss!! But Jenny can't believe his retort…
"When can you start?"
"Excuse me? Did we just experience the same interview?"
Jenny and Ethan have quite the explosive relationship. It's a good thing that they can't agree on anything, otherwise they would be tearing each other's clothes off. Their chemistry is ON FIRE. But Jenny needs this job to help provide for her father, and she's not going to let her drop dead gorgeous boss stand in her way.
I loved Jenny and Ethan's banter and wit. It's like they've known each other for years and knew just what buttons to push.
I loved that she could give it back just as hard as I dished it out. Boring women were just that-boring. Could Jenny Jackson be interesting for the rest of our lives?
WOAH! Where did that come from?!? Ethan Mason doesn't settle down. He keeps people at a distance. He keeps his walls stacked high and heavy. But so does Jenny. This is why they are perfect for each other, and why they drove me crazy, in good ways and some not so good ways.
Let's talk about the things that I loved about this book. It was a quick, fun, and sexy read that had one of my favorite troupes: Baseball. But this was from a different perspective of a sports romance. We weren't dealing with an athlete, we were dealing with the agent and I really enjoyed seeing things from that end. I loved how witty Jenny was. The relationships in here was also great. I personally loved Jenny's relationship with her dad, and Ethan's relationship with his best friend Matt. Both made you fall in love with both main characters.
So what I wasn't so hot for: the back and forth. There was a lot of it. There were a lot of insecurities between these two, but it was borderline immaturity. These were grown adults, but they were definitely not acting like it. By the 3rd incident I was just ready to move on.
I really enjoyed how Howell wrapped everything up towards the end. It ended with a lot of heart and I'm a sucker for a good Epilogue! And there's enough intrigue towards the end that may have me looking for a sequel.

This was my first read from this author and I can’t say it definitely wasn’t my last! This story was fun and naughty and definitely had more heart than I was expecting! For as alpha and stubborn as Ethan could be I absolutely loved him!
Jenny is in a tight spot, she has her father’s medical bills piling up and desperately needs a job, then she lands an interview with a sports agency paying way more than similar positions elsewhere, she needs this job. Things don’t go all that well though, from a snarky meeting with her would be boss outside to an explosive interview, it doesn’t look promising. Ethan is all about his business, he’s strong and in control, until Jenny sends his world spinning. He knows he shouldn’t hire her but he can’t help himself.
These two are explosive together – sassy, snarky and HOT! I love that they are both such strong individuals and have that take no crap attitude. There’s a tangible push and pull between these two, the sexual tension intense when they aren’t butting heads. As much as I expected the sexual tension, I loved seeing the softer side of Ethan and learning about why he operates the way he does. He was way more loveable than I expected. I actually had a harder time warming up to Jenny, as much as I respected her sass and wit, she could be pretty selfish and cold.
Overall, I did enjoy this story, it was fun and hot and witty with great characters! I am definitely excited about about Scored, I loved Matt and can’t wait for his story!
*I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book for The Geekery Book Review.

Thoroughly enjoyed my first read by Sloane Howell. This was very well written with a high intensity of feeling. One job interview turns into an on again off again relationship between Ethan & Jenny. Jenny's sarcastic wit & her knowledge of numbers makes her the perfect person to work at Mason & Associates sports agency, even if it's in an accounting position. Ethan's one of the biggest & best sports agents around & knows his sports but when he's schooled by Jenny he's impressed. Knocking heads with each run in brings them closer until Ethan can no longer deny his interest in Jenny. Many starts & stops happen in this very hot roller coaster ride of a story. Can't wait to read the next book in the series. Definitely recommend.

I received an ARC from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
I really wanted to like Bossed, the blurb sounded really good but sadly I didn't enjoy the book :(
I didn't like the hero at all!!
He was an asshole for most of the book and I just felt like there wasn't enough info about his past to explain his behavior.
I didn't like the heroine as well, she run hot and cold with the hero and I just couldn't understand her behavior.
The reason I gave the book 3 stars was that I did enjoy reading about Jenny and her dad and their relationship . Other than that I didn't enjoy Bossed and I just felt like there were too many missing details about Ethan and I just couldn't connect to him.

4.5 Stars
I was pulled right into this story. They have laughs, lust, love, secrets, grief, and forever.
This is Jenny and Ethan's story. Jenny is on her way to a job interview when she runs into a man that makes her take a second look that is until he opens his mouth. Ethan is a hot mess. He lives by a certain set of rules. He learned from mistakes from the past on what not to do in business. When Jenny turns up for the job at his agency he knows he can’t hire her or she will be his biggest distraction. But when he tells her she is not right for the job she proves him wrong. Not me must figure out how he can have her at work but keep his hands to himself. What proves to be a challenge is she wants him too. Can he get over the past to let her in? Or will she push him away just when he figures out he wants her forever?
I highly recommend this book and anything by this author.

This was an amazing quick read. I enjoyed the hate to love angle. The character were fun and easy to relate to. The pace was quick but it doesn't take away from the story line. The characters have great chemistry and they seem to balance each other out. I love when the woman can stand up to the alpha and be his equal. I look forward to reading more from Sloane in the future.
I was gifted a copy from NetGalley for an honest review.

Ethan is the boss, Jenny needs a well paid job, and Ethan employs her...it goes from there...he actually comes across as quite a softy, a sexy softy. Jenny has a seriously ill father, a great best friend, and goes hot and cold in her reactions to Ethan.
Overall, a good read, sweetly sexy, family drama's

3.25 stars
This was more than an average read, but not all the way to a 3.5 star for me.
I enjoyed Jenny, Ethan, and their interaction/chemistry. They both even had decent character evolutions given the somewhat limited character development.
Bossed was not a long book and I felt like the character development was good for the length of the story, but I kept looking for a little bit more. It was interesting to read a male POV actually written by a man. This was my first read by Mr. Howell and it won't be the last - this left me curious about his work.

Sloane howell outdid himself with Bossed. A beautiful classic sweet sassy funny start to an amazing series. Jenny needs a job to help care for her sick father who has cancer. On her way to a job interview she gets lost and literally bumbs into a gorgeous jerk. She and him swap sarcastic barbs but she realises she still lost and almost late. Getting to her interview there the beautiful sarcastic jerk in the flesh.Ethan figures he will play with her then tell her no go on the job. And he does just that till she proves him wrong and then he gives her the job. The two get closer and Ethan starts feeling things for jenny even though he doesn't want two. I loved this book and cant wait for Ethan best friend's book...

I absolutely loved every page of this book. I’m giving it 5 SUPER steamy stars!
Ethan is the owner of a sports agency and a total d-bag to his employees and pretty much everyone else in his life, especially in the beginning. Then enter Jenny. Jenny’s a huge baseball fanatic and developed this love watching and learning baseball with her father. Now, her father is terminally ill and Jenny needs a new job to earn an income that will support his care. She’s applied at Ethan’s company and after an intense meeting, lands the job… the attraction between the two is off the charts, but Ethan can’t let anything happen between the two on the chance that his staff will find out and see him as being weak. But, Ethan can’t get Jenny off his mind and the two begin a crazy rollercoaster of a relationship.
This is one of those books that will have tears streaming down your face from laughter one page and then crying for totally different reasons the next. It’s emotional, drama-filled, and just awesome. I can’t wait to read more from this author!
Side note – I’m completely obsessed with Matt, Ethan’s best friend, and Kelsey, Jenny’s best friend getting their own story… so fingers crossed!

This is a fun read – which is not too demanding, the writing flows very smoothly and the plot is not unfamiliar.
The setup works well, and whilst their behaviour in the office would send an HR manager into a tail spin, it was amusing to read. Matt was the unsung hero, and I rather hope that this becomes the first in a series, as there were a number of characters who deserved a happily ever after too. What I really liked was that Jenny and Ethan came from the same place – and once they worked that out, they understood each other so much better.
A worthwhile read, thank you Ms. Howell.
