This was an amazing quick read. I enjoyed the hate to love angle. The character were fun and easy to relate to. The pace was quick but it doesn't take away from the story line. The characters have great chemistry and they seem to balance each other out. I love when the woman can stand up to the alpha and be his equal. I look forward to reading more from Sloane in the future.
I was gifted a copy from NetGalley for an honest review.

Ethan is the boss, Jenny needs a well paid job, and Ethan employs her...it goes from there...he actually comes across as quite a softy, a sexy softy. Jenny has a seriously ill father, a great best friend, and goes hot and cold in her reactions to Ethan.
Overall, a good read, sweetly sexy, family drama's

This was more than an average read, but not all the way to a 3.5 star for me.
I enjoyed Jenny, Ethan, and their interaction/chemistry. They both even had decent character evolutions given the somewhat limited character development.
Bossed was not a long book and I felt like the character development was good for the length of the story, but I kept looking for a little bit more. It was interesting to read a male POV actually written by a man. This was my first read by Mr. Howell and it won't be the last - this left me curious about his work.

Getting to her interview there the beautiful sarcastic jerk in the flesh.Ethan figures he will play with her then tell her no go on the job. And he does just that till she proves him wrong and then he gives her the job. The two get closer and Ethan starts feeling things for jenny even though he doesn't want two. I absolutely loved every page of this book. I’m giving it 5 SUPER steamy stars!

Ethan is the owner of a sports agency and a total d-bag to his employees and pretty much everyone else in his life, especially in the beginning. Then enter Jenny. Jenny’s a huge baseball fanatic and developed this love watching and learning baseball with her father. Now, her father is terminally ill and Jenny needs a new job to earn an income that will support his care. She’s applied at Ethan’s company and after an intense meeting, lands the job… the attraction between the two is off the charts, but Ethan can’t let anything happen between the two on the chance that his staff will find out and see him as being weak. But, Ethan can’t get Jenny off his mind and the two begin a crazy rollercoaster of a relationship.

This is one of those books that will have tears streaming down your face from laughter one page and then crying for totally different reasons the next. It’s emotional, drama-filled, and just awesome. I can’t wait to read more from this author!

Side note – I’m completely obsessed with Matt, Ethan’s best friend, and Kelsey, Jenny’s best friend getting their own story… so fingers crossed!

This is a fun read – which is not too demanding, the writing flows very smoothly and the plot is not unfamiliar.

The setup works well, and whilst their behaviour in the office would send an HR manager into a tail spin, it was amusing to read. Matt was the unsung hero, and I rather hope that this becomes the first in a series, as there were a number of characters who deserved a happily ever after too. What I really liked was that Jenny and Ethan came from the same place – and once they worked that out, they understood each other so much better.

A worthwhile read, thank you Ms. Howell.

A sexy office romance.

A job at this sports agency isn’t just welcome with its fabulous pay, it’s something Jenny desperately needs to help pay her father’s accumulating medical bills. But when she realizes her boss would be an insufferable sexy jerk she can’t stand, will she walk away or will she stay and try to fight the undeniable attraction between them?

He knew he shouldn’t have hired her. Ethan felt the instant pull towards her when they bumped into each other on the street. He felt it even more when her feisty personality was revealed during her interview. He understood that keeping a professional relationship between them would be next to impossible, but Ethan Mason is man that get who and what he wants and he wants her.

This is my first book by Sloane Howell and I found it to be fun and sexy with a good pace and likeable characters including Ethan’s best friend Matt, who was a total sweetheart and Jenny’s best friend Kelsey, who stuck by her through thick and thin.

Ethan is one of those heroes you love to hate because he hides his goodness hides behind defenses that make him barely tolerable, but a good man he I, he just needed the right woman to help get over his past pains. I really liked Jenny’s strength and feistiness, she had no problem putting the man in his place. Her backstory was similar to Ethan’s, I only wish that her reactions weren’t so visceral and over the top.

Oh but there were other gut reactions that made my eReader heat up because Jenny and Ethan’s chemistry was sexy hot and their banter was amusing in its rivalry.

Bossed is a standalone contemporary romance by Sloane Howell. It light and easy to read. Told from both points of view and has a happy ending.

This is the first book I've read by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Jenny and Ethan have off the charts chemistry and I loved the banter between them. Jenny isn't afraid to tell Ethan what she thinks and to stand up to him, unlike everyone else in the office. Ethan is a very tough boss and expects perfection from all of his employees. These two are instantly attracted to each other and Jenny really changes Ethan. Great cast of characters, humor, romance, drama, angst, heartbreak, and super hot love scenes make this a great read. The ending was absolutely perfect and I look forward to reading the next book, Scored, with Matt and Kelsey. I loved these two friends of Ethan and Jenny and look forward to their story.

Excuse me while I dry my eyes...
That was absolutely amazing! All the feels were there; laughter, annoyance, sadness, happiness, sexiness and grief. I have no idea how I'm supposed to sleep now. This is my first book by Sloane and I will certainly be on the look out for more of his books.

Jenny is going for an interview. She needs this job to help pay the bills. She's not even got to the interview before she has an altercation with a completely arrogant, god like, man. He really rubs her up the wrong way..she can't keep her mouth shut, such a smart mouth.... too bad that she finds out he's the owner/interviewer for her new job! Too bad for Ethan that the woman he's interviewing is the woman he bumped in to earlier, and he LOVES that smart mouth. It's a dangerous path for these two when it's so much fun to rile each other up..

Hang on for the ride. The hotness factor is scorching. It will make you laugh and cry (happy and sad tears! Double whammy). But boy, what a tale.

This was a really good enemies to lovers story. When Jenny goes on a job interview, she is surprised that her new boss would be the jerk she got into an argument with earlier in the day. If she didn't need the job to help pay the bills for her sick dad, she would've turned it down but she had no choice. Ethan is a sports agent and hires Jenny to figure out the financial worth of players. He is a jerk, but underneath all that is a man who is fighting his attraction to his new employee. I love boss/employee books especially when you add in enemies to lovers. Jenny was a strong heroine, she stood her ground with Ethan and wasn't afraid of his surly personality. There were a couple moments when she got on my nerves and I didn't like the way she acted in certain situations but I did like her. Ethan was actually pretty perfect, even with his moods. I really enjoyed this book and I'm hoping Matt is going to get his own book in the future.

This book was just okay. It didn't really bring me into the story and I found myself drifting sometime while reading. I enjoyed other books by this author and it could just be a timing thing and that if I were to go back and try again, it would be a different story.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

This was a good story. A sports agent who has no interest in a relationship with a woman is enamored with a woman who knows as much about baseball as he does (and maybe more!). Unfortunately, she works for him so he has to see her every day, as much as he'd like to avoid her. The banter between the characters is definitely amusing and I love his relationship with his best friend. Her relationship with her father is one of the most important facets of the book. I definitely had some tears in a few places, but had laughter too.

This was my first book by Sloane Howell, and I found it be a very good overall read, and would definitely have a read of some of his other books!!

Ethan Mason runs his own company, but he's an arrogant douchebag, cold, demanding, cocky and self assured. Jenny Jackson needs a better paying job, and this one fits the bill, except for the boss, who just happens to push all her buttons and she gives back as good as she gets!! Ethan doesn't want to hire the spitfire librarian looking woman, with her sass and mouth, but she knows her job, and he should know better as he is attracted to her - business comes first, but he can't help but hire her, much to her own surprise. Wait for the fireworks to start!!

This book is based a lot around baseball, which is not my thing (don't shout - I'm from the UK!), and so didn't really understand some of the terminology - but this did not detract me from the story, which shows how good it was!! There is a great love / hate pull throughout this book, with angst aplenty. There are also some laugh out loud moments with some of the banter that takes place.

Jenny is a strong character with a lot on her plate, but she did get on my nerves a little and blamed Ethan for things which were entirely out of his control, as Ethan turns out to be not so much a douchebag after all! The sexual chemistry when they get together is quite explosive!! Overall I enjoyed this and would read more.

This is my first time reading anything from this author. I really enjoyed the story. I'm also looking forward to the next book in this series.

Scorching hot...(fans self) My first Sloane Howell novel and I loved it.

Ethan Mason is a Sports Agent and CEO of Mason & Associates. He's a generous employer but rules his workforce with an iron rod, micromanaging to ensure they perform 100% all the time. When he interviews Jenny Jackson, he can't believe she's the same woman who he literally bumped into only a few minutes earlier and astonished when she corrects him over incorrect data he quoted. Leaving him little choice but to hire her on the spot but not necessarily for her bookkeeping skills.

With mounting medical bills to pay, Jenny Jackson needs to secure the job she has an interview for but after getting knocked to the ground by a bad-tempered man in a suit, she's going to have to pull herself together to gain her composure. When she enters Mason & Associates she's surprised the CEO will be present at the interview and is even more shocked when he's the same bad tempered guy who bumped into her minutes earlier. With nothing to lose and everything to gain, she challenges him about misinformation and is even more astonished when he hires her on the spot.

Her physical appearance smacks prim and conservative but once she opens her mouth, Jenny is a formidable force. The champion of the underdog, she challenges Ethan when he humiliates a colleague before everyone. She's tough...brought up by her single father and more importantly a perfect match for Ethan. Ethan's has met his match, however, he's an expert at sabotaging his chances with Jenny. That said, I love that he's very conscious about his flaws and tries to wrong his rights after he's called out and made accountable for his behaviour. Even though his initial reaction is to retreat into himself, unable to handle situations he caused.

The result? An exciting roller-coaster of a ride with Ethan and Jenny's volatile temperaments generating combustible chemistry. With verbal sparring, acerbic retort and knee-jerk reactions before engaging their brains, there's never a dull moment! Balance and harmony are achieved courtesy of their best friends Kelsey and Matt who provide welcome wisdom and peace....phew!

Bossed by Sloane Howell was a very entertaining read.
I enjoyed the storyline, it was well written, it was easy to follow and once I got started I didn't want to put it down.

Ethan and Jenny were such great characters, I found myself easily connecting with them. They were passionate, stubborn, frustrating and highly amusing all throughout the book.
I loved watching them banter, they both needed to have the last word and some of their comebacks had me laughing out loud.

These two had an instant attraction which grew from hate to love the more time they spent together.
It warmed my heart the way they both slowly opened up to each other, we get to see the real man with the big soft heart that would do anything for the people he loved.

From the first few pages I fell in love with Jenny. I loved her snark, I loved her sass and I loved her passion. Some people might find her a little too much, but not me, I loved her character. The way she loved her dad and best friend Kelsey touched my heart.
I shed a few tears watching the three of them together, they talked openly, held nothing back and loved each other unconditionally.

Another plus was the secondary characters, Matt and Kelsey. They were wonderful, likable characters and I enjoyed them both equally.
I'm excited to hear the next book in Scored will be their book. =)

Overall, Bossed was a quick, steamy and very entertaining read that will bring out all the feels.

I highly recommend Bossed.

Bossed by Sloane Howell might be my favorite of his novels. This super sexy office romance was a very fun read.

The main characters, Jenny and Ethan, have chemistry. At first their chemistry is rather caustic, but it eventually it’s explosive (in the best possible way). Their banter is snarky and funny. The two of them share motherless childhoods, but the reasons why and the outcomes were very different. One is closed-off and focused, and one is open and caring, and one major thing the two have in common is their love of baseball.

The novella is a quick, fun read. The plot flows smoothly, and the secondary characters add so much to the romantic comedy. I loved Matt and Ethan’s friendship and interactions. Hopefully, the second book in the series, Scored, features Matt and Kelsey!

I was actually looking forward to reading Bossed based on the cover alone. I couldn’t get over the smirk that the model had on his face and hoped that the cover would live up to the book. I wasn’t disappointed on that end. The cover more than lived up to what I thought Mason would look like and to his arrogant behavior. I am just glad that Jenny wasn’t shown on the cover.

I couldn’t stand Jenny. She annoyed the ever-living out of me. I mean, she went into her interview and immediately started verbally sparring with Mason and then every scene with them afterward, at work, she was insubordinate. If she was my employee, she wouldn’t have been hired and if she was, she would have been fired as soon as she screamed at me to apologize to an employee who cost me millions of dollars. She was whiny too. I mean, she had her first orgasm, ever, in the back of Mason’s car and then checks her phone to find out that her dad, who had terminal cancer, was in the hospital. She flipped out on Mason….like hardcore screaming and yelling at him. I get that her emotions were all over the place but dang, she needed to check it. And when her dad died, her flipping out on him because he went to a business meeting and his cell phone. I can’t even put that at grief. She was acting like a witch with a b. She was the one who sent him on the darn business trip…..with her blessings. There were some places in the book where I wanted to slip her a chill pill. She annoyed me that much.

Mason was just as unlikable at the beginning of the book. But I did like the change him in once he started seeing Jenny. I actually started to like him and by the end of the book, he achieved hero status by dealing with her. But, he wasn’t all nice. I mean, he broke up with her because he assumed that she cost him 10 million dollars on a pitcher when it ended up being information that he gave to her that was incorrect. And how he was at the beginning of the book…..he was a grade A idiot.

The sex scenes were pretty hot but what was hotter was the sexual tension between Jenny and Mason. It blew the book out of the water in that aspect because it made the first time they had sex beyond hot.

I thought the storyline with Jenny’s father was pretty sad and I really thought that he was going to make it. I actually cried when I found out he died.

The end of the book I liked. It was pretty standard with an HEA.

How many stars will I give Bossed: 3

Why: While I liked the story and half of the main couple, I really couldn’t get past Jenny

Will I reread: Maybe

Will I recommend to family and friends: Maybe

Age range: Adult

Why: Sex and language

Howell as per usual gave us another great book. Always entertained by this author I was excited for this book and now I'm read for the next

I had a hard time deciding how to rate this book. I loved the way it started with all the funny exchanges between Ethan & Jenny not to mention the sexual tension between the two. The story would run cold for me when Ethan would do something stupid or Jenny would react like an immature teenager. What save the book for me was pulling back and looking at the story as a whole. The sex was super hot, and when Ethan wasn't being cocky he could be super romantic.

Friends Matt & Kelsey really added to the story with the loyalty they show Ethan & Jenny during the difficult times.

I am glad I did not give up on the book because the ending was delightful.
