I enjoyed this book. It made me think about the sacrifices I make for my family, and how that changes me.
This one is not for me. Thank you for the option to give it a try.
A native New Englander who spend many summer days on Cape Cod, this was a fun read. The fictitious town was very realistic and story was engaging.
I just couldn't get into this story. I thought I would identify with the couple since I was their age but neither of them was all that likable. They weren't very good parents which became evident toward the end of the book when the sons became the center of the story. The synopsis made it sound like Irene's art career would be an important part of the story but I don't even remember reading much about her art. Not sure if not reading his previous book would have helped since it's setting is the same town but this story seemed bland .
Did not care for. Only read several chapters. Maybe will try it again when the book is released.
This book bored me. Angsty housewife, macho husband, troubled children--nothing new here.
