I wish I had previously noticed this was a series because I would not have requested. By the time I got around to reading it I was no longer interested in beginning the first one. Thank you for the early access though!
I ended up hating Flawed, so I never downloaded Perfect. I usually love Cecelia Ahern but these were just not for me.
While I was very intrigued by the previous book, the second one did not hold up. I think I just had some completely different interpretations of where the story would go. Therefore, I DNF-ed the title. Although, I do see how many would enjoy this story.
This book was a great follow up to Flawed (book one). Of course I love a good romance and even a dreaded love triangle. A great ending to this duology - I couldn't put it down once the story line really got going. It was refreshing to read a dystopian. I hadn't done so in a while.
Unfortunately I no longer wish to review this book as the first few chapters did not reel me in. Thank you for the opportunity.
Adored the first book, but unfortunately, I didn’t engage with this next installment. I don’t post negative reviews, so have declined comment.
Perfect was a book that I absolutely could not wait for. Cecelia Ahern has been a favourite author of mine for such a long time and I absolutely adored Flawed, the first book in her debut YA series. It was such an increduble read and I truly couldn't wait to read more about Celestine's journey. I loved Perfect even more than Flawed. It was unputdownable.
Celestine is in hiding. She is a wanted criminal for daring to help someone and be different to the crowd. Now on the run she finds herself being the face of a revolution. Can she change such a flawed and unfair society?
Celestine is such a fantastic character and I absolutely loved experiencing everything through her. She is so strong while still showing a littel vulnerability which I love seeing in a main character. It's great to have such an amazing character while still showing that they are realistic and things do get to them.
The more I read this book, the more I couldn't put it down. It was absolutely stunning and perfect and I couldn't read it fast enough. I was sat on the edge of my seat, unable to turn the pages quick enough, dying to find out what was going to happen to Celestine. I was rooting for her so much. Cecelia's writing style in this book is just addictive and so amazing. I really hope she intends to write more YA as she is clearly amazing at it.
Perfect was an amazing sequel to Flawed and I loved reading both of them so much. If you're a fan of YA and dystopia this is definitely the series for you. You will absolutely love it. Definitely a must-read.
Must apologize. I read this title many moons ago and forgot to write a review.
I know I loved this title because I wrote "Amazing" on my Goodreads review notes.
I wish I could remember more at this time but this will have to suffice!
Though I had read Flawed some time ago, Celestine and her story stuck with me, especially as it doesn't seem too far fetched of a 'utopian' society. Celestine is still struggling to survive in her newfound world as Flawed in this fast-paced sequel. While some characters seemed to drop a bit in focus (more prominently described in Flawed than here), Celestine rises to become the heroine she did not set out to be when she -- through an act of compassion and empathy -- helped an outcast member of society. I enjoyed Perfect and how 'good' and 'bad' people have flaws, rough environments, motivations that ultimately show we're all humans and perfect in our own right if we err on the side of compassion.
It was a good conclusion of the duology. Great concepts were brought up in this book. I was a huge fan of the family there throughout this entire series. It was a real representation of why it means to have a supportive family. To love one another’s through ups and downs. We have diverse cast of characters with each having their own agenda. The reader is put to contemplate about sensitive topics which are present in the real world.
Some points were lost due to the romance which felt unpolished enough.
I found the second book in the series even better than the first which is rare! The writing style is perfect for the young adult genre and I absolutely love the idea for these books. I will say, it doesn't say anything new or groundbreaking that hasn't been said is many other YA books, but if you're a die hard YA fan then this book/series is perfect for you.
The plot and characters in Perfect (as they were in Flawed) are well written and engaging. The dystopian world that Ahern creates is as thought-provoking as it is cruel. Unexpected twists continue as Celestine's story wraps up. I will encourage my students to read this duology.
I loved this book! The full review will be posted soon at kaitgoodwin.com/books! Thank you very much for this wonderful opportunity to connect books to their readers!
Though I liked the book, I made the decision at the time I finished not to review it on my site. Maybe in the future I will include it in a book list post or another article.
Celestine has always been considered high society and an ideal version of womanhood; Until she makes a powerful judge angry and he decides to destroy her life and reputation. She knows some secrets that can destroy the status quo if only she can survive the evil judge. Great book.
"In this thrilling sequel to Flawed, Celestine must make a choice: save just herself or risk her own life to save all Flawed people.
Celestine North lives in a society that demands perfection. After she was branded Flawed by a morality court, Celestine's life has completely fractured--all her freedoms gone.
Since Judge Crevan has declared her the number one threat to the public, she has been a ghost, on the run with Carrick--the only person she can trust.
But Celestine has a secret--one that could bring the entire Flawed system crumbling to the ground. A secret that has already caused countless people to go missing.
Judge Crevan is gaining the upper hand, and time is running out for Celestine. With tensions building, can she prove that to be human in itself is to be Flawed?"
The first book in this series was one of the first books I got in my OwlCrate subscription... should probably get around to read it...
I was worried that I had to read Flawed all over again as it’s been so long since I read that book. But I knew that it was one of my highlights when Flawed first came out, it was a book by an author so well recognised in a genre I very rarely read that it was one to remember.
Perfect continues off from Flawed... Celestine is on the run. Judge Crevan wants her more than anything because she has more evidence against than anything. Celestine is branded on the spine because of Crevan's selfishness to be this pure person. He was punished for his sins therefore everyone else should follow suit. But being a leader he is more corrupt than anyone knows, who wants to follow a system like that. Celestine is the one who can change that with the help of Carrick and some Flawed activists.
She Flawed and she is proud to be. It’s the flaws that make you human, it’s the flaws that make you who you are, your character what you learn from, who you learn from. Your not Perfect to the conformity of the society. That’s not perfect that’s controlling, no freedom, ruled, governed. What Celestine wants to say is that flaws and all, your perfect in your own way and you’ll always be perfect to someone. Plus Perfect is boring, what’s life without a bit of danger, adventure or simply being a bit out of the ordinary.
“And there are the very special people in our lives who have the endless capacity to love us for all of our flaws.”
Cecelia Ahern is a remarkable writer. You can tell that instantly when you start reading her book, it’s like a whole new world. Perfect continues in its addictive, fast paced nature, it’s literally unputtadownable. Flawed series is recommended to anyone who loves Veronica Roth, George Orwell, Suzanne Collins and Margaret Atwood.
Rating - 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
This author never disappoints with her work. Gripping, beautiful, and slightly dark. I loved every second of it.
Nice follow up. I liked the whole idea of this series, it has a few missteps, but al in all solid ya.
Already reviewed and feedback sent ages ago. Not sure why these are duplicating. But please find review content at my archived blog www.behindonbooks.wordpress.com
- Thanks! Sorry this is a little haphazard. Just trying to clear my Shelf here. :)
