Starting out the book with two people who are struck by Instalust and the only thoughts they think about for the first 20% of the book are sexual is a real turn off. Then a fairly good story develops and some very interesting situations present themselves, with a touch of woo-woo.

The Cutter family is legendary in treasure hunting circles. From the father, Daniel, who started the business to his sons, Nick, Logan, and Zane, who only added wealth and legend to the name. Now, Jonah Cutter, a sexy half-brother, is out to add to that legend and literally make history. Jonah has discovered a 12th century Chinese Junk that was carrying treasure that just happened to sink on top of a lost city. One major complication is his marine archeologist. In addition to not being a team player she totally dismisses his theories about the lost city. He also has a major problem with the way his body isn't listening to what his mind is telling it about Callie West.

Dr. Calista West is a marine archeologist who has a deep dislike of the Cutter family and has plans to undermine this exploration any way she possibly can. She is undercover for her brother-in-law, Rydell Case, a nemesis of anyone named Cutter, but what she didn't plan on was her explosive and visceral reaction to Jonah. She hates the Cutter family, but all she wants is to jump Jonah's bones. Dr. West's area of expertise is ancient cities and the granddaddy of them all is Atlantis. That Jonah thinks his lost city is Atlantis has Callie, as an expert on Atlantis, intrigued even though she firmly believes it doesn't exist. Jonah is out to prove her wrong.

It would have been nice if there had been a Novella, or at lest a Prologue, detailing how Jonah came to be accepted by the family. Since it has been years since the last book, all I remember is that Jonah captained for Nick and told him they were half-brother.

This is the 4th book in the Cutter Cay series. I have not read the other books and although is can be read as a standalone, I feel I was missing something important.
Callie is hired by Jonah to work on his salvage ship. She thinks he hired her to help with the salvage of a Chinese ship. Little does she know he thinks he has found the City of Atlantis. And since Callie is the leading authority on the theory it does not exist, having her prove it is will be a major deal for both. What Jonah doesn't know is she is there to to sabotage and destroy his work. She is there for her friend/family friend Rydell. This is the part I don't really get because it is the underlining story in the previous books I believe.
Although I did like the book, something is missing. It feels disjointed and I felt like I kept losing time. Cassie and Jonah never quite made me believe in them. I also wanted more info about the "paranormal" side of the story. It had some exciting moments. but It left me asking to many questions when it ended. Was it suppose to be a cliff-hanger? I'm not sure. I need to read the other books in the series and see if this helps me understand this book better.

This is quite the underwater rollercoaster of a story full of bad guys, natural disasters, and emotional upheaval. Jonah is sexy and hot…no surprise there, but it took me a while to like Callie. Her initial bitchiness made me wonder about his intelligence in pursuing her. Of course, it led to some sizzling sex as well as her change of attitude. All in all, a fast and exciting read that makes me anxious to read the next one.

Stormchaser is the next book in the Cutter Cay series about a set of brothers, and half brother who inherited their father's sea salvage business. This book is Jonah's story! He is the half brother we learned about in previous books. He knew about his half brothers' but they didn't know about him until recently. His boat is named Stormchaser. He had become part of the Salvage company and his book is about finding an old boat off of one of the Greek Islands, and also finding what he thinks is Atlantis. He calls on Dr. Callie West who specializes in diving, and certifying old pieces found in shipwrecks, and has written about the myth of Atlantis. This is another great romantic suspense book in this series. Cherry Adair is a master at these books. She pulls together her characters and plots seamlessly so that the reader is totally drawn in. I have read all the Cutter Cay books, and this is one of the best. Thanks as always to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this book for an honest review.

Stormchaser is the fourth book in Cherry Adair’s Cutter Cay series. I haven’t read the prior three books, and I don’t think it affected my enjoyment of this one. While I liked Stormchaser, it was sort of slow and never really grabbed my attention.

Jonah is a recently discovered half-brother of the Cutter clan, and he believes he’s found the Lost City of Atlantis beneath the wreckage of a ship he is salvaging in the Mediterranean. Marine archaeologist, Dr. Calista West, was going certify (or not) his find, but she has ulterior motives. She and Jonah have a strong case of insta-lust, but it never felt like they really connected. Their romance wasn’t really believable.

The suspense and mystery of the story were kind of slow going, and the resolution wrapped up too quickly. Stormchaser was an okay read but has the potential to be forgotten. I’ve heard the other books in the series are great; therefore, maybe I will give one of them a try.

3.5 Treasured Stars!

I think this might be one of those times where not reading previous books in the series may have hurt the chances for me to connect completely to the story. We start out with Callie taking a job with Jonah Cutter to help him salvage and document his discovery. He believes he has found the lost Atlantis and Callie is an expert in her field.

We learn real quick that she only took the job to sabotage it for the Cutters nemesis, Ryder, Callie's brother-in-law. I'm assuming it's revealed in previous books why these men don't get along, but you don't learn it in this book until the second half. What little you do learn, doesn't justify her deceit, in my eyes. I had a really hard time liking Callie because of this.

I loved Jonahs character. He fell hard and fast for Callie which made me fall for him. In turn, that made it even harder to like her for betraying him. Unfortunately, this made the first half of the book a bit of a struggle for me. The thing that saved the story for me is that I'm apparently easily won over. Once Callie gave into her attraction to Jonah, I started rooting for them and could enjoy the 2nd half of the book.

I would really like to know more about what Rydell thinks the Cutter men did to him to deserve his revenge. It didn't touch anymore on the subject but Rydell's story is next in the series. ARC provided by NetGalley.

Unfortunately, I wasn't very into this book. I liked the treasure hunting premise, but the book really lost me with the Atlantis story line.

The long wait is finally over. Ms. Adair returns to the paranormal world of Cutter Cay. This book can be read as a standalone. Stormchaser focuses on the half-brother, Jonah who wants to be just as an amazing treasure hunter as his three brothers. When he finds a sunken Chinese ship off not far from the Greek Isle, is believes he's struck gold. Because what is under the ship is what really makes all the difference in the world. Trying to keep his find secret, he needs a leading archeologist who won't believe his find to try and disprove it. This marine archeologist is none other than Calista. Calista is more than meets the eye. Her private ties are in direct conflict with Jonah and she's determine to support he man who helped her. To do this, she will gleefully steal Jonah's find out from under him.

The premise of this book is filled with conflict. There is betrayal after betrayal as well as messy emotions. I probably could have done without those pieces as it's a bit drama laden for me. What really pulled me to this book is the underwater city Jonah finds. I love how Ms. Adair creates a possible scenario for this city as well as how it came to be and what is protecting it. The paranormal parts as well as the mystery of strange occurrences kept me riveted. I'm just as intrigued as Calista.

From a character perspective, I liked both Jonah and Calista. Their conflict is understandable. Their sexual tension and romantic interest didn't really do much for me. It fell a bit flat. The only time it was a bit interesting was when another woman tried to flirt and play with Jonah. The lustful female's seduction was so terrible it was hilarious. As a sexual romance, this story contains several steamy sex scenes. These are catered to the romance reading crowd who enjoy sexy men getting it on with bookish yet beautiful women. The sex is straight up vanilla and sweet.

The ending felt rushed and I wished there was more to it. I hoped that there would be more about the secret society as well as the underwater city. Alas, we are left with a cliffhanger on that subplot. For the main romance plot, it is a nice happily ever after as expected from Ms. Adair. This book is recommended to paranormal romance lovers who have a thing for lost cities and alpha males.

Jonah and Calista were interesting and well-fleshed out. Watching Calista come out of her shell and the romance blossom amidst seeming supernatural events was very fun to read.

This is my first Cutter Cay book but definitely not my last!

I was disappointed in how it ended, but overall loved the characters and plot :) A fun action packed story!

Looking for Atlantis! Wow, so not what I expected. Stormchaser is third in a series. I wasn’t aware of this when I selected it, and I had no issue following the story, though–as always–it will likely be a richer experience if you’ve read the others.

This is my second Cherry Adair book, and she definitely has a “way” that she writes. Regardless of the storyline, attraction between the H/h is hot, erotic and immediate. Looking for a seriously sexy story? Look no further.

Jonah reminds me of any good, fictional “pirate”. Yes, he’s the captain of a ship, but I could picture him hundreds of years earlier underneath the skull and crossbones. Dark, strong, mysterious. However, he’s far to honorable for that.

Callie isn’t as honorable, and it took me some time to warm up to her. She’s on his ship on a lie, a big one, and it was tough for me to forgive her for it because I liked Jonah.

The premise of the book was interesting, too … I love the idea of potentially finding Atlantis. It’s this big mystery that lingers and makes a person wonder. Very well handled by the author.

The only hiccup I had was the lack of a true connection between Callie and Jonah. Heat? Oh yeah, in spades. Lots of sheet time here. But that little “spark” that makes a romance reader’s heart go pitty-pat? I didn’t feel it authentically.

Still, Ms. Adair’s writing is strong, descriptive and very clear and visual. I’m only just now finding her, but thankfully, she has a full backlist for me to explore. And I assuredly will.

My Review:
Treasure and romance with a possibility of betrayal? Sounds great! And it really was very good. If we had half stars I'd give it four and a half. But I was able to put it down and go to bed at 56%, so it can't have five stars. I have long been a Cherry Adair fan and am really glad to see her releasing another book for this series with the fifth book set for next month.

The controlled Dr. Calista West didn't really seem to have a problem keeping her hands off the handsome salvage chief, Jonah Cutter. It was more that he wouldn't stop touching her that she had the problem with. His arm on her armrest, his knee next to hers, his hand on her wrist, holding her hand, at the small of her back, cupping her cheek. His lips on hers. Once touched, she didn't seem to be able to stop herself from touching back, though. Ms. Adair hasn't lost any of her talent for writing an engaging sex scene. She knows that fine line between hot and steamy and overdone and draws it expertly.

But what about Callie's mission? Her promise to betray Jonah and steal his big find out from under him? Who will be the real loser? Get this fourth book in the Cutter Cay series today, hot off the press and find out. Is it really Atlantis they've found? Where will the loyalties fall? I don't kiss and tell! You'll have to get your own copy of Stormchaser and read it. I highly recommend it!

I'm looking forward to Rydell Case's story next month, Hurricane Apr 4, 2017

I have been waiting for Stormchaser, the latest in Cherry Adair’s Cutter Cay series, since I closed the cover of Vortex back in 2012. Almost five years! That’s a long time to wait for a book. Actually, longer than that. I’ve been waiting to hear Jonah’s story since he entered the page early in the series. It was almost worth the wait. This is a fun action, adventure novel written in trademark Cherry Adair style. There’s running, jumping, good guys and bad, and crazy monkey sex, all surrounded by a great story. As soon as I started reading I remembered how much I loved these characters and this series. Now I want to go back and reread the first three. The good news is I don’t have to wait nearly as long for the next book.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.

Stormchaser by Cherry Adair
Cutter Cay #4

Standalone book but perhaps having read the previous three would have given more background on the Cutter brothers as well as why Rydell, the heroine’s brother-in-law, is a player in this story.

This is Jonah and Callie’s story. Jonah Cutter is into archaeological underwater treasure/salvage hunting and believes he has found the motherlode of all finds under the seas near Greece. He has hired Dr. Calista “Callie” West to authenticate as well as dive and do other academic things on the hunt. Callie is there under pretense with subterfuge and bad intentions predominant in her mind. Little did Callie realize that she would be ensnared by pheromones AND the lure of a potentially huge find that could make her name in academic circles. Add into the brewing forbidden lust between Jonah and Callie a couple groups of nefarious rather ruthless and questionable characters, some disturbing paranormal stuff and a lot of scientific jargon and you have a larger than life story that kept me entertained today. It is not my first choice of book to read but it was enjoyable all in all.

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC. This is my honest review.

Okay. umm...I can't say "I do not like it," nor I can say, " I love it." I am having some mixed emotions with this book.

I have been waiting for this like since I have heard and read about at the end of the Vortex. But as the years passed by, I thought: "Will this book be released?"

Lo, and behold! I was emailed a link for the said book. Not just one, but the fifth book of the series too. Now that was really something that I was not expecting. But heck! I like Ms. Adair's books! I fell in love with The Mercenary and during the time I read that book, I was not aware that it was a series. Imagine my reaction when I found out that it was the first book of many.

Going back, I like the concept of the Cutter Cay Series. It was something that people with a thirst of adventure and treasure would want. Throw in some hunks, what more can you ask? Stormchaser was a very...how can I say...unexpected? or more likely, surprising? Yeah, surprising book. Who would have thought of the paring.

Jonah, if I can remember was part of Nick's crew, but I have to read about it just to be sure. Feel free to correct me. Was the half-brother none of the three brothers known. To understand fully, you need to read the previous book prior to this book.

The plot of the book was actually good. The thought on how it was made was pretty cool. I would like to be of their salvage team. The story between the hero and the heroine was something too. I love Jonah for his restrain. He did his best no to be his father. It was something that I really appreciate. The girl, well, she had her reason. I do not want to blame her and with the situation she was in, who can blame her for it?

All in all, Stormchaser is one of those books that would make you realize not everything is what it seemed. There are different sides of a story. All you need to do is choose which will you believe and hold on for the ride.

This was my first Cherry Adair novel and I really wanted to like it. It sounded quite interesting and I'm always open to new authors. I kept coming back to it but it failed to hold my attention. I didn't feel a connection between the characters. I'm not sure I would call it forced but it just didn't gel with me.

This one was just a "meh" read for me. The story is very disjointed in my opinion and I could never develop the warm and fuzzies for these characters. The sexy times are well done but I never feel that chemistry between the two MC. Add to that all the craziness and mystical happenings in the story and it just doesn't feel real. The premises of the story, the exciting discovery of what could be Atlantis, set up everything for an exciting story, I wish it had all come together.

Jonah has the chance of a lifetime, uncovering the treasure all hunters dream of. The only problem, he can’t the cool, reserved doctor off his mind and every chance he gets he finds himself making reasons to spend time with her.

Smoldering sexual tension and a vividly told adventure, Stormchaser brings the reader through a gambit of nail biting circumstances.

I did find the ending a little rushed but I highly enjoyed Stormchaser and adored the premise. I recommend you dive right into Jonah’s and Calista’s story.

I received this ARC copy of Stormchaser from St. Martin's Press. This is my honest and voluntary review. Stormchaser is set for publication March 7, 2017.

Jonah Cutter half brother to Zane, Nick and Logan Cutter...and just as sexy....Have they found Atlantis? Will love win out over betrayal? I can't wait for HURRICANE Ry's story...I highly recommend this book.

I had such high hopes for this one...*sigh*.
But sadly, it was only a lukewarm read for me.
Most of the problem was because it's been years waiting for this one...I sort of lost track of the whole storyline of this series. Gradually things started coming back to me, but it never captured the excitement that I had for the first story in the series (Undertow)--which was 6 long years ago.

Another problem I had was ---I didn't fully believe the love between the hero (recently discovered Cutter brother Jonah) and heroine (marine archaeologist Dr. Calista West)--it felt more like a serious caes of lust to me. Yes, they were attracted to each other, had some hot times in the sack, but she had a secret agenda (view spoiler) and when that secret and her betrayal was finally revealed, I can't believe how easily Jonah seemed to forgive her. It just didn't ring true to me.

I was ok with the premise: Jonah thinks he has found the Lost City of Atlantis beneath the wreckage of a ship he is salvaging in the Mediterranean and Dr. West was going to prove/disprove his find...but they spent sooo much time talking about it that I sort of lost interest. There was a bit of suspense near the end that I could imagine being in a movie...but, meh, I just wasn't feeling the whole book. I also thought it ended rather abruptly.

This series started out with so much promise--I thought it was original and exciting but each book seems less exciting than the previous.

I haven't totally given up yet. Hurricane is up next, and we finally meet up with the Cutter's chief rival, Rydell Case. Hopefully Ms. Adair gets back on track with that one.

A lukewarm 3 1/2 stars
