How far would you go for family? Callie knows that she is doing the right thing by going on this dive as she will be able to give something back to her family. But what seems like a simple job will be anything but that. Jonah will find Atlantis even though she doesn't believe her and Callie knows that it doesn't exist she has spend a lot of time disproving that it really existed. The simple dig almost gets one of their crew members killed and the strange men on the island are up to something but what? Can Callie really turn over all Jonah's hard work to her brother in law or will she fail under his spell? Jonah knows that he is onto something and that this could be the one that sets him apart from his brothers. But the one person that he thought that he could share this with could be the one that does the most harm. Callie never thought that the enemy would become to mean something to her. What will Jonah do when he finds out the truth about her?
What an amazing adventure it has it all action, smoking sex and danger. I received a copy via Netgalley & the publishing in exchange for my honest thoughts.
Starting this late in a series that seems developed is probably not the way to go but that's how it happened. I couldn't follow along all that well with mentions of possible previous happenings so I couldn't read the entire thing. I'll be coming back to this again later
Stormchaser by Cherry Adair
A traitor is in the midst of Jonah Cutter's dive crew.
Callie is having second thoughts about betraying Jonah. Plus she's seriously attracted to him. What's a girl to do?
An action packed adventure, a timeless mystery, and some wild monkey sex. This romantic suspense is a whirlwind of a good read.
I was stressed and worried reading this book because of the heroine's potential betrayal. Would she go through with it? That's powerful writing. I was anxious. About a book character!
A rather abrupt ending. Not a cliff hanger. Obviously making way for the next book in the series. Which I will be reading because I really enjoyed this story.
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley.
I have waited a long time for StormChaser to come out so to say I was excited to get an advance copy isn't even close. I quickly dove right into the book pun intended but soon something just didn't jive with me.
From beginning to end this story was disjointed to the point a reader would all of a sudden question what happened and how did a week pass?
Time seem to fast forward tan slow down and fast forward with no indication than 3 days later. Make the reader feel like they are missing part of the story. The flow was beyond choppy.
As for the Mystery it was interesting but really nothing new or surprising. Reader will know right away what is going to happen at the end of the book with out much thinking.
Jonah and the Dr had a bad case of lust. Cherry Adair can write a sex scene, with fun, sassy and enjoyment. This book had all of those but zero connection between Jonah and the Dr.
The Dr.s Lies seem to get covered up in the quick ending that will leave readers with a headache as they trying to figure out what happened in those last few pages. I had to reread several pages to understand half of what happened many times over.
The end of the story was choppy, lack a coherent ending and I had not idea who most of his crew were expect for the drunk because that character really had no reason to be there. He wasn't funny but more annoying.
I had reread the other three books in the series to make sure I was caught. This book didn't live up to the first free.
Thank you Netgalley, Publishing Company and the author for an Advance Copy I hope to be able to review another book by Cherry Adair in the future. I love the first three Cutter Books and look forward to Book #5
I always love Cherry's stories. This one kept me up all night couldn't put the book down.
Sorry, it didn't work for me, I struggled with it but I'm sure others will love it.
The story line in this book is more sci fi and way out in left field, but, I did like this book and will recommend it to my mystery readers. Looking forward to the next book in this series
Sadly from the first pages it just didn't grab my attention. Our main h kept talking in past tense about things I knew nothing about which left me feeling lost. Not how I like to feel reading. Maybe there's a book before this or maybe had I kept reading it would have gotten better, but I just didn't enjoy it enough to finish.
Finally the Cutter series continues! Wasn't sure this book was ever going to be released. While this book is part of the Cutter series, it can definitely be read on it's own. In fact, it's been so long since I read the last one that I really didn't remember the characters and I did fine.
This book has everything that we have come to expect from Cherry Adair - steamy romance, plenty of suspense and a great storyline. Jonah Cutter has found the salvage site of a lifetime and now he just needs to have it verified by the newest member of the team. Too bad that team member has her own agenda that may or may not coincide with Jonah's!
I liked the story overall, and liked Jonah and Callie together. It got a little confusing at times, with her being a spy for her brother-in-law and then the creepy siblings snooping around. The middle of the book got a little muddling, and I tended to skim there. It does pick up though, and the climatic scenes of the volcano erupting and the monks was fun to read. I would highly recommend this book and author, and hope to read more of the other brothers.
Great book. Lots of action, sexual tension and hot steamy scenes! In fact, everything you want from a good read. Wanted to keep reading. Can't wait for next in series.
I absolutely love this series. The beautiful underwater world that is described in each book makes it feel so real. Stormchaser gives us a taste of adventure, romance and suspense.
Marine archeologist Calista West has been hired by Jonah Cutter to salvage the Ji Li. He waits til she is on the salvage vessel to tell her he thinks he has also found the lost city of Atlantis. Callie has her own reasons for taking the salvage job and Jonah won't like them when he finds out. Callie and Jonah are attracted to each other and Callie's having second thoughts about following through on her plans involving the salvage. Strange things happen on the dives and with the weather. It also seems that someone doesn't want them exploring the Atlantis site.
I would classify this book as a romantic suspense. There was enough romance and suspense in the book to hold my interest. This book is part of the Cutter Cay series. I would give this book 3 1/2 stars. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.
**I received a copy of Stormchaser from St. Martin's Press and Net Galley in exchange for a voluntary and honest review**
Stormchaser by Cherry Adair is book 4 in the Cutter Cay series that the author writes. This is my first time reading for her and even though it was hard to follow at times it can be read as a stand alone.
Dr. Calista West is a famous Marine Archaeology has been brought aboard the Stormchaser by Jonah Cutter to salvage the Ji Li for Jonah Cutter and his investors. But what Jonah Cutter hasn't told her is he suspect that Atlantis could be underneath. Callie grew up with parents who were always drunk and she learned very early to fend for herself putting herself through college and becoming the best in her field. It would make her career if this could be Atlantis or sink it if it isn't. Little does Jonah know that she's also working for her brother-in-law Rydell to take down the Cutter brothers. But when a strange group of people suddenly appear every one on the Stormchaser start to wonder if someone doesn't want them to explore under the wreak of Ji Li. Can Callie resist the pull of Jonah ? When earthquakes and underground volcanoes start erupting will Callie and Jonah decide it's a omen to leave things as they are.
Jonah Cutter gathers the best crew he can find and it's taken a lot of money to get Calista West onto to his boat to find what he thinks could be Atlantis. The Ji Li is just a bonus salvage but he mostly wants to prove to his brothers that he's just as good at salvage as they are but he won't tell them about this secret projects until he's sure of what he's found. But when Callie and Leslie find a lava tube leading to a lost city it will take everything to stay alive when an underground volcano erupts. Will Jonah and Callie keep the secrets that the guardians of Fire Island have kept for centuries or will everything including their love be taken from them by an angry volcano?
The book has it's exciting suspense filled moments and of course the burgeoning love between Callie and Jonah is enough to make you turn pages quickly. I'd give the book at high 3.9 stars.
Some parts are hard to understand. It is about a salvage company trying to locate the city of Atlantis.
Doctor Calista West is a marine archeologist. She is hired by Jonah Cutter to help him with a ship that sunk years ago. Callie is actually working for her brother in law, to steal what Jonah finds out from under him. But Callie realizes the Cutter's aren't as bad as he made them to be. And when some of the pieces they find, led them to believe there are right above Atlantis, the Guardians will do anything to keep it secret.
Some parts are fast paced, some are confusing but all in all I enjoyed the story. Secrets. Sex. And a lost city.
