My One True Highlander ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐by Suzanne Enoch
(No Ordinary Hero #2)

Graeme has been head of his family as well as a Highlander chieftain for eight years. He has single handedly raise this three younger brothers and taken care of his villagers. He is not shy of working side by side for the good of his family and village.

When his brother Brendan gets the idea of kidnapping Marjorie Forrester, sister of the Duke of Lattimer, a near by Englishman and enemy of the Duke of Dunncraigh the story begins. This is fast paced novel of heroes, heroines, villains and much laughter and fun.

Ms Enoch can certainly weave a tale. Some of the conversations and so comical but also quite poignant. This soulful group of cast offs just tears at your heart. If you love romance and romance with Highlander's this is the book you will enjoy.

Laird Graeme, Viscount Maxton's younger brothers kidnap their neighbor's sister, Lady Marjorie thinking they will ransom her to get in the good books of their clan chief who is at odds with their neighbor. When Graeme realizes what his brothers have done, he decides to intervene but cannot risk sending Marjorie back without getting his brothers into trouble. But after he meets Marjorie, the attraction between the two burns hot and Graeme is not willing to let go of Marjorie. Marjorie has spent the past few months of her life fitting into Mayfair and the London society and doesn't think that she will ever like to live in the highlands.

This is a beautiful tale of love and finding your paths with well written characters. I absolutely loved Graeme and Marjorie but the character I most adore is of Connell. He has such a pure and loving heart and I adored his nickname, "duckling" too. Adventure, romance and family, this book has got it all. I highly recommend this next book from the Scandalous Highlander series.

I read this book in one sitting and couldn't put it down. Majorie is kidnapped when she goes to surprise her brother before his wedding. Her captives are kids and their reckless behaviour leads her to being prisoner to a very attractive man. I really enjoyed this book and loved the chemistry in it. Graham and Majorie are a great couple and they're realistic characters. This was a well-written book that I recommend to anyone who enjoys historical romance.

This novel was a delightful read and a good follow up to the previous novel, Hero in the Highlands. This novels follows Marjorie, the sister of Major Gabriel Forrester, now the Duke of Lattimer. I enjoyed the characters, the plot, and the style of writing by the author.
Marjorie plans to surprise he brother for his upcoming wedding to Fiona. She travels with Mrs. Giswell, who is assisting her into society's web. Marjorie does not fit into society and most people ignore her since she was previously a ladies' maid before her brother inherited the title. All long the way, she is kidnapped by the brothers of clan Maxwell. Graeme, Viscount Maxton, is not happy when he finds that hos brothers kidnapped the duke of Lattimer's sister to use to help protect their land from the Duke of Dunncraigh, who is still unhappy that he lost Lattimer castle and wants to force the new duke to turn over the lands by using his sister as collateral.
Marjorie tries to find ways for them to return her to her brother, but with spies for the duke of Dunncraigh nearby, Graeme does not wish to release her and fears for his brothers. Graeme realizes the only solution is to marry her, but Marjorie refuses. As they spend time together while, their attraction for each other grows and eventually, they fall in love. Marjorie has a impact on Graeme and his family. Graeme eventually realizes he wants to marry her not truly for her money, but because of the love he has for her. However, dangerous enemies still lurk nearby which could interfere with the plans they have.

I loved this book because the characters were so amazing! Oh, and the story was sweet and nice as well. Well, who wouldn't love such a sweet boy like Connell and also his brothers, even grumpy Brendan, are very loving, very warm and thinking of a house with those guys around, well, that sounds like a happy house to me.

Graeme had to take over as chieftain and father/brother at the age of 20 when his parents died and left Graeme and his three younger brother behind. Money being tight as it was, that did also mean that he had work hard alongside his tenants to make things work.
Marjorie and her brother are orphans as well and due to their former circumstances and their newly allevated status as a duke and his sister, Marjorie has lived a very simple life where lonelyness was her constant companion.

When she is being kidnapped by Graeme's brothers, Graeme finds himself in a dilemma - how can he protect his stupid well-meaning brothers from the consequences of this more than stupid action and how can he protect the young lady that they had kidnapped as well without being caught in the crossfire.
Well, marriage sounds like a charming prospect - or not.
Somehow the situation changes and Graeme and his prisoner/guest/whatever start to enjoy each other's company ...and more. Will Marjorie return to her dream of a respectable life in London or might Graeme be able to convince her of his feelings?

I really loved all those wonderful characters, the wonderful, animal-loving-and-rescuing "duckling" Connell, proper Mrs. Griswell who may or may not have found a reason to stay in the Highlands, Greame and his fierce protection of his brothers and all those who depend on him, Dhugàl and Brendan and, of course, Marjorie. Oh, and don't forget Sir Robert.

The book is well written and the story well spun. It is the first that I've read by Suzanne Enoch but it won't be the last.

Its A Keeper! Its also a buy buy buy book! If I could give more stars I would!
A book of family, hard times, deceit, betrayal, passion and finally love. Characters that you fall in love with immediately along with many smiles for some of the younger ones antics. All in all a book worth the title GOOD READ and KEEPER! One of the most obvious to me is lately I cannot stay concentrated on every book I read for most feel stale or just sex. This is not just sex and it is not stale. It has life and love and emotion within each page. This author is gifted in her story telling, and I did not put the book down until I finished it! Highlanders are always a welcome read to start with, but this is a highlander with a heart and soul for family first along with honor. The title is more than appropriate for the book. I adore a book that gives you pictures in your mind while reading. One that you are so immersed in that you do not notice the passage of time. Well this one qualifies on those scores to me. So , when it comes be sure to grab a copy and just lock yourself away and enjoy!

I was given this book in return for an honest review. I review trying to never give spoilers. This review is my honest opinion not swayed by anything other than myself. Anna Swedenmom
