This book was a good read. I enjoyed the author's writing and had a few laughs with some of the commentary between the two main characters of this novel. Lord Hugo Starling is the youngest son of a duke. He was a twin, but his brother died due to an illness. This made Hugo want to build a hospital in honor of his brother, the life he did not save. Georgette Frost leaves her parent's bookstore that has been sold to her cousin after the death of her parents. She was to live there until the age of 21, but Georgette did not want to a burden and wanted more out of life. Hugo is friends with Georgette's brother Benedict. He always visited the book store where Georgette grew up. Hugo is a doctor and is trying to get the funds for his building, but with no success. Georgette is trying to find the gold that was stolen. Hugo finds her dressed as a boy and reluctantly agrees to her plan to find the gold. He writes to her brother that they are together, but Georgette is looking for a purpose to her life. By the end of the novel, Georgette realizes what she wants to do with her life. Georgette and Hugo get tangled up with their travels and have told several lies. When they reach Georgette's uncle, Hugo does his duty as a doctor and helps the tenants. However, there travels also lead them to leads about the missing gold. They find themselves caught in the web, trying to discover where the gold is and who is involved. While they are on their adventure, Hugo and Georgette realize they have feelings for each other. Each have different goals and those paths will take them in different directions. Will they realize what each means to the other or will they follow the paths they believe will lead them to their purpose in life? Will they realize that being with each other is the adventure of a lifetime?
