A couple of things first. I’ve NEVER read Ms. Zanetti before. Seriously, not one book. So why did I choose this series to start? Knowing that it’s a spinoff? Yes, I’m a glutton but I dove in and I’m glad that I did. This is the first books in her Realm series that is a spinoff of the Dark Protectors. Now, let me tell you a tale. I barely read PNR so when I started reading the series, I was surprised. This is a series about a group of men that are supposed to protect a coven of witches. I know, right? Witches!!! I’ve never read a book about witches. So I dug in.

I will have to say that Wicked Burn was my favorite of the 3. There was just something about Nik and Simone that just wouldn’t let me go. Passionate, exhilarating and exciting is how I can describe it. The action never lets up with these two. They have a back story which I liked, too. Don’t get me wrong, I liked Daire/Cee Cee and Kellach/Alex, too. What’s not to love about hot alpha men that will die to protect the women that they love. My heart was just taken by Nik and Simone. Simone gave as good as she got but there is an underlying vulnerability to her that spoke to me. Nik is just too much at times in the book. And I mean that in a good way. 😉

The cat and mouse games that happen in all three books is terrific. I was literally on the edge of my bed (I read in bed) during most of the books. Ms. Zanetti writes romantic suspense like I like it. Fast, hot, sexy and with enough twists that make my head spin. Now, I will always have to say that some of the secondary characters I didn’t quite understand but that’s all because they are in her other books. It didn’t take away from my enjoyment of these books.

Overall, I liked the series. I realize that there are more books in the Realm series, too. I plan on getting them for my summer reading. I think you should too. But be warned…this is NOT a new series. And when I told some peeps that I was reading them, they suggested that I read the Dark Protectors first. Me, I didn’t listen but it didn’t take away from my enjoyment.

WOW! What can I say besides HOT and enthralling. I loved that the female characters were strong and so were the men but the men were kind as well. I loved the dynamics between all the couples and families and friends. I can't wait to read the rest of the series! I give it 4.5 stars!

I felt lost in this book and could not figure out what was going on. The first 3 books in the series were in this bundle but I really felt that there should have been other books before this one. It kept mentioning characters and history that I knew nothing about
