Gabrielle Parker spends her days fixing cars and hiding herself from the world.
Zeke Dugan spends his days saving lives in and out of the hospital. When he meets Gabrielle he knows that there is something about her that draws him in and makes him want to hold her tight until she is ready to stand strong on her own.
I voluntarily read an advanced reviewer copy of this book and I really liked it.
I loved the vulnerability that is seen within Gabrielle. I also loved that she refused to give up on life she just learned to live it in a way that would make her happy. Luckily for her Zeke showed her a whole new world that was filled with a lot of beauty and sadly a lot of darkness.
Overall it was funny..it was sexy...it was really really good. Great job Rhenna Morgan!
Wild & Sweet is book 2 in Rhenna Morgan's Haven Brotherhood series and it is fantastic. Zeke's trauma doctor and Gabrielle's (Gabe) mechanic are complete opposites yet Rhenna Morgan makes them compatible. As a car girl, myself, I love that her occupation involves vehicle repair. I was a purchasing agent for 12 years at a company that manufactures and distributes reproduction parts for vintage corvettes. I was also a sales person, requiring vast knowledge of the required parts and components of 1953-82 vettes. One of my many job duties involved locating and purchasing used Chevy blocks and having them trucked to Michigan and sending used parts out to various vendors for repair/restoration. Anyway, I connected with Gabe right away on several levels.
Gabe's character is fragile and her inability to be around strangers or in groups/crowds drives her anxiety levels to panic attack proportions. There are events in her past that she is unable to work through and they cause Gabe to shun everyone but her brother, Danny. Until Zeke walks in to assess her condition after a burglar tosses her into a neighbor's coffee table. The connection is almost instant and alien to Gabe.
Zeke is a badass Haven brother who is a licensed trauma doctor, as well as, an under-the-radar medic in the seedy underworld. Careful not to do anything that will get his license revoked, Zeke still tap dances along the edge of black and white, firmly in the gray zone. His connection with Gabe shocks them both but he knows he's exactly what she needs and vice versa. He'll run to hell and back if that's what it takes for Gabe to see they are meant to be together forever.
I loved everything about Wild & Sweet. Gabe and Zeke are likable and easy to fall in love with, separately and together. Both characters have uniqueness, yet are perfectly paired in the author's brotherhood wold. The chemistry between them is electric and realistically written. I was drawn into the story from the very beginning and everything about it kept me engaged. The love scenes were steamy and sensual not animalistic and raunchy. The author did a wonderful job slowly peeling away Gabe's layers and pulling her out of the anxiety-filled world she's grown accustomed to for so long.
The plot was smooth and the entire story was perfectly paced. I was never bored or overwhelmed with details. The dialogue between everyone was realistic and conversational - it was like I was there with them. The events and storylines were well thought out and eventually they all came together in an explosive crescendo. Be prepared to get lost in Wild & Sweet and not find your way back out into the real world until you get to the very last word in the story!
The story also includes all of Zeke's "brothers" - men in his life that aren't related by blood but just as close if not closer, including an up-and-comer. I still stand by the statement I posted at the end of my review of Rough & Tumble, Book 1: "I'm only going to tell you that Axel is a character and I can't wait to read all about him. The rest of his brothers are great, too, but Axel is a charmer and his story is going to be phenomenal - I just know it!" Alas, he is not the star of book 3 (I already have the ARC) and my agonizing wait continues.

Adult Romance
ARC provided for an honest review through NetGalley.
Zeke Dugan is a brother in the Haven Brotherhood. He is also a trauma doctor who has no problem using his skills to help and protect his family/brothers. He is always on call and drops everything when a brother is in need. When he meets a prospect's sister, he can take his eyes off of her. The beautiful, smart and introverted woman is exactly what he wants.
Gabriella "Gabe" keeps to herself. She enjoys her job as a mechanic and taking photos on her free time. She doesn't enjoy social situations, they send her into panic attacks. After being assaulted in a robbery while checking on her neighbor's house, she doesn't want to go to the hospital, luckily her brother's friend, Zeke, comes to the rescue. Zeke sets her on fire. He is handsome, smart and -HELLO- a doctor!
I really enjoyed the romance and chemistry between Zeke and Gabe. This book focuses on their relationship and Gabe overcoming her anxiety. Seeing Gabe grow, learn about herself and how to handle her anxiety is essential to this successful story and makes it SO CAPTIVATING. I was rooting for her from the beginning to the very end!
Hello Zeke! Seriously...hot and sweet doctor...SOLD! But really, I loved his character and I loved how he interacts with Gabe. Seeing him push her to grow and overcome was so cute.
Overall this book was really good! I enjoyed the main characters (and can't wait for the other brother's books!) and the plot...it was steady and kept me guessing!
On Amazon NOW.
Did you read the first book in this series, Rough & Tumble!? NO!? You should. It's fantastic and gets the reader ready for this book. Check out my review for Rough & Tumble on kellybookblog.com.
What could you possibly say about an extremely handsome man, who happens to be a doctor...and oh yeah, will totally lay down his life to save yours? Sigh.....not many words can express how amazing that is, right? Zeke is all of this and some.
Zeke is one of the six brothers of Haven. Not really brothers, more like bros that are family. These guys have been through a lot together and for each other. So much so that they formed the brotherhood to continue doing the right things in life. Zeke being a doctor has it's benefits. Not only does he do the right thing at work, but he's not afraid to help his brothers when necessary. Sometimes bending the law and ethics to do so.
Gabrielle is the sister of one of the "soon to be brothers", Danny. She suffers from social anxiety, mainly because people just don't get her, but she's definitely an introvert...who happens to be a kick ass mechanic on kick ass cars. Even though she's an introvert, she cares about her neighbors and the neighborhood. One night while doing her neighborly duties, she ends up being attacked by a burglar. Or at least that's what it's meant to look like. Good thing the Brotherhood is there to assess the situation. Turns out that there is more to the break in.
Needless to say, Zeke being a doctor was there to make sure Gabrielle was ok after the attack. But he can't get her out of his head. There's just something about her that keeps drawing him in. Since she's an introvert, he start making house calls to check on her and boy oh boy, there's some serious chemistry going on there. But, she's also the sister of a potential brother and things can get pretty sticky. Especially when the neighborhood isn't as safe as they all thought it was.
Loved this book. Zeke is amazing and the chemistry he and Gabrielle have is so wild and sweet. The action pulls you in, but the love we witness blooming between these two is enough to make you swoon. I can't wait to see what the other brothers have to offer next...

3 1/2 stars.
This was better then the first installment. It was instant love.
The characters were ok. Gabe had a great deal of anxiety, but it didn't seem like a disorder to me. It was something of her making. I have dealt with kids that have anxiety and it is an actual physical state. Something they can't stop from happening. She didn't display a true OMG moment to me. I know everyone has different reactions, but she seemed to easily overcome it and of course Zeke just made it all fine. I agree with the that someone who has anxiety or other difficulties should be considered like any other disorder and if drugs could help then you should try it. It is nothing to be ashamed of. I liked that message in the book.
Zeke I really couldn't get a grip on him. He fell hard and went with his gut. He was hot but it all seemed so fast and he was just so understanding. It seemed like he pushed too hard at times and to me it seemed like she should have had more intense reactions if she had been so impaired by her anxiety.
I am more interested in the other players in the book and hope they will get their own stories.
The Haven Brotherhood is back at it in this latest installment in the series. This is the second book but can easily be read standalone. This band of life brothers who have chosen to live by their rules and their own moral compasses may look like your run of the mill guys around town but when someone threatens one of their own the gloves come off.
Zeke Dugan is an ER trauma doc and is willing to put his medical skills to work anytime the brotherhood needs them. Meeting Gabrielle "Gabe" Parker, the sister of a potential brotherhood member, not only calls his skills into play but also his protective nature. He's immediately drawn to her but she's a straight arrow, always playing by the rules as well as an introvert. Much happier under the hood of a car than talking to another person. His lifestyle may not work well with hers but he'll do anything to make sure she's safe.
I highly recommend this one.
I really loved this fast-paced read. Lots of suspense and drama and the chemistry between Zeke and Gabrielle is steamy. The story had me hooked from beginning to end. I look forward to reading more in the series.
I was in love with the very hot and sexy Jace from Rough & Tumble Book #1 of this Haven Brotherhood series but I seem to have replaced him with the very energetic always on the move Dr. Zeke. Enthralled by Zeke's ability to see the real Gabrielle and how he slowly works himself into her life kept me glued to the pages and falling in love with his character. Another thing that jumped off the pages in this story was the patience, caring and love Zeke shows towards Gabe, her brother Danny and his family by choice.
Strong women always attract my reading interest but even better is a strong woman overcoming her fears. The author's presentation of Gabe's weaknesses and strengths at the same time shows a woman that is believable and not unrealistic in today's world. This character will give others like her, hope that they too can overcome what she does and find a life they will love.
Honestly...this book is very good and it will hold your attention till the last page. There is enough intrigue to keep a guys interest and the love scenes are just down right scorching hot so are appealing to both men and women.
I give this 4 STARS for drawing me further into this sensual dramatic series and the authors fearlessness in broaching medical conditions most are ashamed to mention.
Received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review.
Zeke is my ideal hero. He is an alpha male, with ties to his brothers and will stop at nothing to protect his woman. He is also kind and patient and goes out of his way to let Gabrielle (Gabe) know that he is in it for the long haul with her and doesn't want a one night stand with her. I loved the brotherhood these men have and how they all jump at the chance to help each other.
Gabe is a little different on the heroine side since she is shy and afraid of social settings. It doesn't make starting any sort of relationship easy and Zeke is so patient as they find their way with each other.
This story is about love being worth the risk. Both Zeke and Gabe need to take risks for their love to work. They need to figure out that love is worth the risk. It's a good read. I enjoyed the book, but the first half did tend to go a little slow for me, I enjoyed the second half a lot more and really like the characters. Good read.
Wonderful life changing love stories like this are always a pleasure to read. Addressing real issues and overcoming them with the love and support of that one special person in your life always make a book more meaningful. That's the whole relationship between Zeke and Gabe in a nutshell. He is exactly the kind of person she needed in her life for her to overcome the damage done to her psyche in the past.
The Haven Brotherhood may not always stay between the lines but they sure as heck know when to claim ownership of someone and will go to any lengths to protect one of their own. Geez, we need more guys like them in real life.
I received an Advanced Reader's Copy from NetGalley for voluntary review consideration
I had to DNF this book, and I feel so very sad to do so.
I loved Rough & Tumble and have been very excited about Rhenna Morgan being on my radar and the future books of this series.
That being said, Wild & Sweet did not work for me for one particular reason. I have a hard limit when it comes to the medical profession and anything remotely close to crossing the line of impropriety. With Zach being a doctor and him having physical reactions and attraction to Gabe while he was doing an exam on her...well, I get it, he's a grown man and that happens. It just put a real 'ick' factor in my head and made it difficult for me to continue on with the story while rooting for him as a main character.
I realize this is MY issue, but I decided not to continue with the book. I won't be posting a review on the blog because again, my issue.
As mentioned above, I'm still really excited to continue with the series and am a fan of the author's writing!
From the first pages of book one, I wanted to know more about Zeke. I'm so glad book two is all Zeke and all wonderful. He's such a caring and amazing character. I really enjoyed every minute of his page time. Happily, I also totally loved Gabrielle. She's funny and sweet, shy and unsure of herself. But wow does she try really hard to break free of the dark thoughts that have plagued her life for so many years. I loved the story, mostly because the characters just worked really well together, but also because individually they're both very interesting.
The book has a good amount of time with the other brothers, thankfully. I am becoming more and more intrigued with these men and can't wait to find out who's up next. The Alpha in all of them is always a bit different from others I've read in the past and I like that a lot.
There were times when one major plot line felt a bit too easy for them to handle. A bit too simple in the way they were able to go about dealing with it, but those little issues I had never took away from the fun I had while reading.
Bring on book 3!
I received an ARC via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
This was one of the hottest novels I have ever read! I absolutely loved the hero and the heroine and will read more from this author in the future.
I would like to thank NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this novel!
Wild & Sweet is the second book in Rhenna Morgan’s Haven Brotherhood series, but the books are stand-alones and do not need to be read in order. Zeke Dugan is a emergency doctor who belongs to the Haven Brotherhood, which is sort of a motorcycle club without the motorcycles.
Gabrielle Parker - otherwise known as Gabe - is the sister of a man who is close to the Haven. When she’s injured during a house break-in, the brotherhood comes to her considering her part of their extended family. This help includes the good doctor - Zeke. He finds himself extremely attracted to Gabe, and he quickly makes the moves on her. Gabe is fairly shy and is not comfortable at social gatherings, but she is willing to take a chance on Zeke and see where this might go.
Zeke surprised me in that he was pretty darn sweet, and I liked the way that neither of them really played games. The problem is that Gabe has a history that makes her leery and distrustful of men and of organizations like Haven. She’s doesn’t fully understand or trust the brotherhood; therefore, it could be a potential problem in their relationship.
There isn’t much not to love about Zeke. He sort of stole the show for me, which isn’t a bad thing. I am not crazy about the brotherhood, but I do enjoy Ms. Morgan’s writing and her characters.
***5 ‘Untamed and Beautifully Innocent’ Stars***
I loved Rough & Tumble (Book 1 in the series), the romance was smexy as hell and I the need to get to know the men of the Brotherhood and those they call their own better had me wanting to dive into Wild & Sweet sooner rather than later and I wasn’t disappointed. The romance was just as smexy, but with a touch of sweet that had me swooning and the need to sidle up to the brothers and find out just what makes them tick has been kicked up exponentially.
Zeke’s life could have gone in a very different direction had it not been for Jace and Axel’s interference and subsequent offer of joining Haven and has never looked backed. This man is all kinds smexy, determined, cocky alpha male without the asshattery, has the patience of a saint an iron clad code of honor and a compassionate heart which makes him all kinds of swoon worthy - panty melting goodness.
The trauma and fallout from a situation that occurred when Gabrielle, aka Gabe, was a young girl has sent her on a path where she has constructed walls so high that not only keep people out, but has trapped her inside her own tumultuous head. It’s funny, normally I’d be at my wits end with a character like Gabe no matter the events of that character’s past, horrible to admit, but true regardless, but that wasn’t the case here. I had my fair share of frustration with her where I wanted to Gibbs smack her, but despite her issues she is a sweet woman with a heart of gold that’s a bit bruised but not broken who does want to live, but doesn’t trust herself to let go. Her journey was a large part of what held my interest throughout the book and I really like where she was at in the end.
While there is insta attraction between Zeke and Gabe, their road to their HEA is a slow, sweet one with a lot of smexyness woven into it. The bumps in it aren’t surprising given Gabe’s frame of mind, but I loved how the were worked through with Zeke leading the way. His patience and honesty brought out Gabe’s true nature which in turn actually gave him an anchor that he never knew he needed. Their interactions were a bit awkward to start, but I loved how they grew more comfortable with each other in every way and though they do have a blowout, the end result brings them to a solid starting point for both of them and how they want their futures to be intertwined.
As always, the writing was engaging and the 3rd person POV was done very well. My one issue comes with the pacing and more specifically with the suspense aspect of the story. I loved that it didn’t overtake Zeke and Gabe’s budding relationship, that it was a true secondary storyline, but even though I figure things out long before the ending, I do wish it had been a little more present in the story. It took awhile to finally get to that moment where the pieces come together and then the resolution was, not rushed, but quick in the big scheme of things. It’s not a bad thing, I just wish we’d gotten a little more out of it. I loved getting to know Danny better and I’m really hoping we see more of April as the series progresses. As for the rest of the brothers and their family, I loved spending more time with them and wish I could be apart of their family. Axel is still my fav, but Knox is a very, very close second with Beckett not far behind, though after one particular scene Trevor is very much on my radar, so bring on Claim & Protect!
I was wooed by this one - wooed hard. I can’t believe this whole band of brothers hasn’t been part of my life until recently. Wild & Sweet is book two in Rhenna Morgan’s Haven Brotherhood series, and it just keeps getting better and better!
Gabrielle, also known as Gabe, looks after her neighborhood’s elderly community. She’s looking in on someone when Gabe walks into a break-in and gets hurt. She calls her brother, Danny, not expecting the whole of the Haven Brotherhood to come knocking at her door. Or to find herself under the watchful gaze of a man who makes her want to live again.
Zeke works long, hard hours as a doctor and when a recruit for the brotherhood needs his help, he jumps in. His patient is the guarded, Gabe, and he’s startled by the protective instincts she evokes in him. Before he knows it, Zeke’s risking the Brotherhood’s secrets and falling for a wild, sweet woman he’d do anything to protect.
”I love movies and romance, but I’m a realist. Passion like that doesn’t exist. Doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy the fantasy.”
I wanted to be Gabe’s best friend. First off, she’s a mechanic. How fun and unique and awesome is that? But she also has crippling social anxiety. Gabe doesn’t have friends beside the elderly folks around her, and she lets her fears hold her back until she meets Zeke.
Gabe’s comfort zone is wearing plaid shirts and jeans and hiding behind cars. Zeke, however, challenges her to step outside her self-imposed box and live. Part of this is calling to the woman inside of Gabe, allowing her a safe place to reveal herself one inch at a time.
From the start, Zeke sees through Gabe’s walls and likens her to a feral gatinha (kitten). Side note: he speaks Portuguese (hell, yes!). This guy is a worker, but he always makes time to burrow further and further beneath Gabe’s skin until she can stand on her own. I just love how when these Haven brothers fall for a woman, they pull out all the stops.
“Under normal circumstances, he could out-wait the most stubborn patient, but standing there in front of her, an almost lethal tension burned through his muscles. Like his whole damned life teetered on the tip of a fiber-optic point and could topple into hell or float to heaven depending on how she answered.”
And, ladies: get this. Gabe cooks Zeke and her brother dinner one night, and instead of Zeke following Gabe’s orders to make a plate and dig in...he waits until Gabe fills her plate and eats first. First!
Yep, I swooned. Bonus: there’s also kinky sex. You know, in case you’re still wavering on reading this one.
Wild & Sweet offered a whirlwind of emotion - I laughed and cried, I was riddled with anxiety and fear. I fell so hard for every one of these characters, and days later, I’m still living in their world. I’m in awe of how Rhenna can intertwine such a personal journey and add the romance so seamlessly. This is by far my favorite read of 2017.
I think you are like a feral kitten. One who´s hungry and has a bowl of cream right in front of her, but can´t quite decide if she wants to lick it up, or hiss and hightail it back into the woods.
To hear the sweet, easy cadence of her voice while she chattered about places she wanted to visit and movies she liked to watch. To watch her while she did simple things like cook for her neighbors, or maybe while she worked on her art.

The sexy Haven Brotherhood alphas are back in Wild & Sweet.
Brothers by choice, the Haven Brotherhood is a group of men bonded by life circumstances. They will do what it takes to keep each other and the ones they love safe. Following their own moral code, they don't always stick to the laws of society but make their own path to justice.
This time Zeke, doctor by trade, falls for the complex little mechanic that stumbles into his life.
Zeke is uber alpha while Gabe is an introvert, loving her privacy and flying below the radar. She doesn't understand what Zeke sees in her but Zeke is persistent in his pursuit and whittles away her carefully constructed walls.
Everything is great between them until Zeke feels its necessary to take on the real estate group that is pushing to grab land in Gabe's neighborhood.
Zeke is a swoon worthy hero that will melt your heart.
Gabe might like to go unnoticed, she still knows how to stand up for what she believes in.
Wild & Sweet touches your heart, emotionally connects you to the characters all the while making you smile and swoon. What more could you ask for in a contemporary romance.

Wild & Sweet by Rhenna Morgan is the 2nd book in her wonderful sexy Haven Brotherhood series. Having enjoyed the first book in this series, Rough & Tumble, I could not wait to start this book, and I have to say this was equally as good as the first book.
Gabe Parker, our heroine, is a shy introvert, who works as a mechanic. Gabe lives with her brother, Danny, whom we met in the first book of this series. When Gabe comes home after work, she sees something by her next door neighbor, who is away. When she goes to investigate, she is attacked by an intruder.
Enter Zeke Dugan, our hero, who is also one the men in the Haven Brotherhood that we met previously. Zeke is a trauma doctor, and he is with Danny when the call comes from Gabe for help. Zeke finds himself attracted to the shy Gabe, but being Danny’s sister, he tries to avoid any entanglements. Since Gabe doesn’t like hospitals, it will be Zeke who will treat her for her broken ribs, and he becomes very protective of her. Gabe suffers from social anxiety attacks, and though she has a hard time trusting anyone, in a short time, she begins to feel more comfortable with Zeke. When she sees the men of the Brotherhood, she worries about Danny, and feels that Zeke couldn’t possibly be interested in her, especially since she is a lowly mechanic. But Zeke is falling hard for the beautiful and sweet, Gabe, and his protective instincts have him noticing that something is wrong around the neighborhood, with realtors wanting to buy and owners moving out.
His concerns will bring, Jace, Axel and the rest of the Brotherhood to investigate what is happening. Gabe gets to meet them all, including Viv (our previous heroine) and the two mothers of the group. While this is going on, Danny is elevated to become a full fledged member of the Haven Brotherhood.
Gabe, though being shy, always does things by the book, including following the law. She becomes concerned that Danny might be getting over his head, and when she discusses this with Zeke, he explains that they will do anything to protect their own, but they try to stay within the law. This will scare Gabe, even when she knows she has fallen in love with Zeke. When her life is in danger, it will be the Brotherhood who will come to her rescue, and Gabe will need to rethink her views.
I loved Gabe and Zeke, as well as the rest of the guys in the brotherhood, and the ladies. The romance between Gabe and Zeke was as the title says, Wild and Sweet. Zeke was so perfect for the shy Gabe, and their chemistry was off the wall. The mystery and suspense within this beautiful romance was exciting and emotional. The secondary characters are all so great; I cannot wait for their stories in the future books. Rhenna Morgan as done it again with another wonderful addition to this fabulous series, which was a fantastic ride to the finish. I suggest you start with Rough & Tumble, and become invested into the Haven Brotherhood.
Aye, I am loving this series and these Haven Brotherhood!! Rhenna Morgan is running full steam ahead.
This story we get the up close and personal of Zeke and Gabe. Gabe is Danny's sister. Danny isn't in the brotherhood yet, but close enough. Zeke, freaking Zeke... panty dropping trauma doc who is as compassionate, protective and alpha, as he is smoking hot. Gabe is a mechanic. I love this girl.
She doesn't like to be around people. Along the course of her life she's developed Social Anxiety Disorder. She is at her best when she's alone, or in the company of those she knows; which leaves us with Danny. Their father died two years before, so she and Danny live together in their family home.
She and Zeke meet when she's injured when she goes to check on the neighbors house and an intruder knocks her down hard. Refusing the hospital, Danny calls Zeke. After much coaxing, she allows him to check her.
Zeke is attracted to Gabe, she's innocent and her innocence in the story is endearing and feels very real. As does his caring for her. We get to see the rest of the Brothers as well, and the "Mom's" I love Ninnie. These woman have such sass, not to mention their baking skills.
The plot in this book is that the neighborhood (prime real estate) Danny and Gabe live in seem to have too many odd incidences and the neighbors are slowly being coaxed out of their homes, one way or another. Zeke feels there is something more behind it than coincidence and wants the Brothers to take on the look to check things out. Plus his concern for Gabe. She's alone at home a lot.
I loved this story, I loved watching Gabe open up to others and to Zeke. This book moved a little slower than the previous, but it still worked for me and necessary to the story development.
I'm truly taken with the characters in the Brotherhood. They're all different, and they make you want to see more of them. Their stories are yet to be told. I can't wait for the next book!
Great book Rhenna! I loved it. 4.5 stars
