They don’t call him Casanova for nothing. But once upon a time he was a supernova, a one woman man. He was her partner and love until he wasn’t anymore. From the first page I felt their pain. I felt the heartbreak and anguish. Rebecca writes stories that make you feel. She broke my heart and stomped on it weaving this beautiful angsty story of second chances and lost love. Slowly she put the pieces together giving us this slow burn of a love story.

Landon and Rachel couldn’t be more perfect for each other. They completed the other on so many levels. Even with so many years apart they fell back into each other. They both have that same flare for life and adventure. Rebecca couldn’t have written a more perfect pair.

With the Renegades there’s always an adventure right around the corner. Rebecca blends the perfect mix of adventure and romance with a side of angst in the mix. We’re taken on a journey of adventure, heartache and hope. And we can’t forget those steamy scenes that melt the pages off your e-reader.

This series can only get better and I can’t wait to see how Rebecca tops the last two books and takes us on a new adventure.

Kitty's review:

I have no idea where to start with Nova. I had so many mixed emotions and feelings throughout this story that it may be hard to put into words. I will honestly say that I loved Nova. I feel like Rebecca Yarros kicked it up a notch with the 2nd Renegade book. The characters seemed to have more depth to them and the story, itself, a little meatier.
So, I didn’t think Rebecca Yarros had it in her to write a real Bitch. But, she does and she proved it with Rachel. Now, please don’t get me wrong, Rachel had a right to be hurt. But, boy does she know how to hold a grudge. There is no explanation, no reason, no excuse that Landon can give that will make Rachel even stop and consider why he left. No empathy for the other members of the Renegades and what it would have cost them if he stayed with her. She came off, to me, as being one unforgiving Bitch. A fun bitch, at times … an interesting bitch, at times … then a forgiving bitch. Yea, she comes around but it takes a whole lot on Landon’s part and her finally finding out the whole truth and just what outside forces really caused all her heartache.
Now, Landon wasn’t totally in the clear in this whole mess. But, I have to hand it to him – he’s one determined guy. He knows he had to build her trust in him again. He knows his “Nova” ways are biting him in the ass. He knows he must tell her the whole truth. But, how does he do that without making himself look even worse in her eyes? Just when things start looking up for them, when she finally starts facing her feelings, when she finds her roots with him at her side, the truth comes out. Everything he was afraid of happening, happens. But, he’ll prove to her that he’s changed, that he will do whatever it takes to make her see him as a different person … even giving up everything he worked so hard to achieve.
All the Renegades are around. Penna has some serious problems and, hopefully, will handle them soon. Leah and Wilder are all still mushy, mushy. Sometimes sickeningly so. The stunts and descriptions of the ports and countries that they visited were beautifully described. You can tell that a lot of research went into the writing of this book. My only disappointment … did they win at the X Games? So not fair that she didn’t let us in on that little secret.
But, Rebecca Yarros did it again. She has me totally involved in the lives of her characters. And, as I said, I went through a lot of emotions while reading Nova. I was angry, I was sad … I smiled and then frowned … I was scared then relieved. It’s nice that an author can bring out all those different emotions within one story. Nova was a high-powered, emotionally charged story that will satisfy your need for extreme sports and true love.

Nova is the follow up to Wilder in the Renegades Series and follows the life of Landon AKA Nova AKA Casanova and Rachel Dawson, Leah's Best Friend. The Renegades are still on the Athena travelling the world, pulling stunts everywhere they can and studying for college. Wilder ended with Leah finding out the lengths that Pax had gone to, to fix one of his biggest regrets in life and Nova picks up almost straight away.

Landon has no idea that the girl who's heart he broke 3 years ago and who broke his without even knowing has ended up on the Athena and appears when he least expects it.

Rebecca Yarros has put me in a really awkward position after reading Nova. I can't choose who I love more, Pax or Landon!

Nova has everything I love in a second chance romance. Copious amounts of sexual tension and angst, broken hearts, complicated histories, a scorned ex and a totally tangled web of lies.

Nova was EVERYTHING. I fell in love with Rebecca's writing all over again from the very first page! I was completely blown away by the storyline and the direction that Rebecca took when writing this.

"He had a kind of magnetism that changed the entire atmosphere around him, and I was drawn to him just like before, no different than every other girl on this damn ship. The chemistry between us I could handle, but these memories sucked."

The chemistry between Landon and Rachel is intoxicating and infuriating. The moment I started reading Nova I couldn't put it down. Rebecca's writing is incredible and speaks directly to my heart and soul, she creates the most complex characters and storylines that keep me captivated from beginning to end. There were so many twists and turns in Nova that I never saw coming and thats one of the very reason's that I absolutely love her writing.

And no one writes a kiss the way Rebecca does! Her Kiss scenes leave me breathless and completely satisfied yet begging for more at the same time! I've never read such incredible kisses! They make my heart melt and I'm physically sighing through the entire scene.

There were so many amazing scenes with Landon, Rachel and other secondary characters who I've completely fallen for and I'm sure I highlighted half the book! I could spend hours upon hours reading every single word she's ever written over and over again. The moment I finished Nova I scrolled back through all my highlights to read my favourite scenes!

There were so many poetic and passionate quotes from various characters and I struggled to pick which one's to use so here's just a few of my favourites <3

"My life had been full of moments that burrowed into my soul, the memories crisp and detailed—the smell of the snow as I won X Games medals, the rush of wind skydiving over Madagascar, the taste of her lips the first time I’d ever kissed Rachel. This…sitting next to her halfway across the world as she took pictures, her hair falling from its tie, a smile playing at her lips, the warm morning sun shining through the top, even the music coming through the radio, all imprinted on my memory, and I knew I’d replay it often. This was what I’d always thought we’d be. Seeing the world together, laughing, fighting, making up, pulling stunts—it was everything we’d talked about, and what I knew we were really meant for. Hell, sitting next to her, even knowing she’d rather toss me from this Jeep than let me kiss her, was more fulfilling than the last half a dozen girls I’d taken to bed. I just had to find a way to break down her walls somehow and see if there was any part of her heart that could still feel something besides hatred for me. Because I was still fucking wild over her."
- Landon

"You’re like a supernova—an explosion so bright no one can see past you, I’d told him once after he’d won a competition. But like my love, that name had been twisted into something entirely different. Now he was Casanova…and no longer mine."
- Rachel

“I’ve thought a lot the last couple days, and if I had the chance to talk to the person who hurt me? The person I loved most in the world? I’d take it. Because all the pain in the world would be worth it for just the tiniest bit of understanding.”
- Penna

After reading Nova I am SO DESPERATE for Penna's book! She is one of my absolutely favourite heroines ever and I've loved her from the very beginning and I just know her story is going to be phenomenal!

I'm also kinda hoping that we're going to get Zoe's story! You just know it would be so full of crazy and drama! So if you read this Rebecca, my fingers and toes are crossed for Zoe's story!! #TeamZoe <3

The problem with love was that once it was gone, there was no filling that hole, no substitute for that euphoria.

(NB: While it technically is possible to read Nova without reading Wilder, it would be better to start at book one for REASONS.)

I knew, when I first read Wilder and learned of Landon and Rachel, that Nova could potentially be a difficult book for me to read. And it was. In places. Don’t get me wrong, I loved it, but I felt, at times, like something was missing—a sympathy for Rachel that I felt like I should have, but I couldn't quite access. It's hard to explain… She was, on occasion, too hard, too angry, too focused on what happened to her and not what else happened around or away from her. And it frustrated me because I wanted to get in deeper. I wanted to know her the way I felt like I knew Wilder and Nova from learning them in book one.

BUT (and it's a big but), then there's the other side to this complicated woman.

Her electric chemistry with Landon (who I could spend all day declaring my love for, but will settle for a simple *sigh* because, despite his mistakes and flaws, he was very much *sigh* worthy). The way they conversed, loved, argued; it was intense and there were moments that just… left me a little speechless.

This intense connection that strung us together would always be there. Buried, burned, or frayed, but never destroyed.

Likewise, her devoted relationship with Leah—who I still adore—was absolutely wonderful. I loved them, the way they know and care about each other. Support each other. Want what's best for each other. It's a beautiful sketch of female friendship, and one of my favorite things about this book. Plus, Rachel is a BADASS. Not a wilting flower, no way, no how. She gives back as good as she gets and she's not cowed by the stunts that make The Renegades The Renegades.

So, I tripped between occasional eyebrow-creasing, fist-shaking frustration and mad, mad love, and then…

Ah, well, and then there's the rest of the book. The rest of this exciting, engaging, fun, fabulous, heartfelt, sexy and altogether AMAZING book. Nova was, in that regard, everything I loved about Wilder, yet still so different that I couldn't help but keep turning the pages—even in the midst of my aforementioned eyebrow-creasing and fist-shaking.

Ultimately, Nova is an incredibly well-written, well-planned and well-paced story. Woven in with the second chance romance of Rachel and Landon is book that alternates warm, happy feels (Friendships! Love! Unwavering Support!), edge-of-your-seat action and some very human mistakes. And because of that, it is completely wonderful, if not completely perfect.

“I have always burned for you. I will always burn for you. You own me like no one ever has, or ever will.”

Escaping your past is sometimes easier said than done. For Landon Rhodes - the past is all about Rachel. A girl that stole the extreme sports enthusiasts heart. The future that Landon walked away from. Leaving him with a gapping hole in his heart. A deep fissure that compounds with every girl that has come his way since. The ‘curse’ that haunted his sports career…..so the media said. The one reason that he will never be complete.

Rachel never could have predicted that this chance of a lifetime college program would lead her back to face the one person from her past that still haunted her dreams. Coming face to face with Landon is like pouring Fireball down your throat. All that velvety goodness staring at you until you consume it. Then you experience a ‘fire’ that burns you from within. Yes…that is how it feels to come face to face with the man that broke your heart. Two years wasn’t enough time to get over the hurt, pain and heartache that Landon left in his wake.

Now that a little ‘meddling’ has landed these two in the same space again, Landon is ravaged by the thoughts of having Rachel so close. The question is…how does Landon reconcile all of the pain that he caused the one person that means so much in his life? Rachel is determined to give him the cold shoulder, but Landon has other plans. As he glimpses hints of the girl he fell in love with so long ago, Landon becomes more determined to find a way to make up for all of the hurt he caused Rachel so long ago.

With shared classes, stunts, and a love of the ‘extreme’, it’s hard for Rachel to stay away from Nova. Every time Rachel is around the fearless advances of Nova, she is quickly reminded of how Landon spent all of his nights while they were apart. A twisted reminder of how little she ranked in the grand scheme of things. As hard as Rachel tries to shy away from the painful reminders of her past, Landon comes crashing through her walls. Showing her that there will always be a part of her heart owned by the fearless stuntman. What will be the cost for giving in to the love that clearly still holds onto both their hearts? Is it all a façade? When will the walls come crashing down again? Only time will tell …the question that remains is will Rachel give love one last chance?

I could not wait to get my hands on Nova. Wilder was one of my Top Reads of 2016. So the anticipation was killing me to find out more about Landon. Well - the wait was so worth it!! The tangled romance that Rachel and Landon have is full of adventure and secrets. Some revelations you expect, and others that you don’t.

Just like the stunts London is known for performing, the road to romance will not be easy. As a reader, you will be pulled into the tale by the determination that Landon shows for making things between Rachel and himself a top priority. As Rachel once said, Landon shines like a supernova. What she didn’t realize is how that light would consume her once again. A determination to shower Rachel with love once more.

Yarros pours her creativity into writing a love story amidst the adventures of the extreme sports industry. Nova is packed with such detailed plots that carry you into this insane world of sports. Each vivid detail can be imagined and felt through the book. Leading readers deeper into the lives of the characters. A true testament to researching and creating a realistic tale. An extreme ride into the lives of some seriously intense daredevils!!

Now that Nova captivated me with his persistence and deep devotion, I am ready for the ride that Penna is sure to give us with her quest into the world that so few women are a part of!

Landon is reunited with the girl he crushed..and she's determined to keep him from breaking her heart again. Most of the book is a slow burn with Landon using some sweet tactics to get Rachel to forgive him and give him a second chance...or at least acknowledge they still have feelings for each other.

Landon is a very likeable character even though he's done some crappy things. Rachel got on my nerves with her unwavering attitude and sometimes unreasonable responses. I got it, it just got old after a while.

The best scenes by far are the action scenes. After all, these are the Renegades and Landon is one of the best. I also really liked that Rachel loved to push the envelope and was a really great partner for Landon on his stunts.

When all the secrets are finally told, it will take a huge sacrifice on Landon's part to have a chance with Rachel. The question is which will he pick -- the girl he loves or the action he craves.

I liked this story, although at times I thought the pace was slow. I wanted more of the exciting action sequences. That's when these characters really popped off the page for me because it fit their characters so well.

This is my honest review. An ARC was provided.

If you've read Wilder, then you will know a little bit about Rachel and Landon "Nova" Rhodes' story. It is one of unbearable heartbreak and pain when Landon walked away, breaking Rachel's heart and also losing a part of himself in the process.

Rachel had no idea going on her college programme aboard a ship, that she would see the one person who wrecked her. So when she sees her past, face-to-face, for the first time in two and a half years, the meeting is awkward and tense. To say it's a shock would be an understatement. There is raw and unbearable hurt on Rachel's side; there's the fact that he left and that she never felt wanted or good enough for him.

"It hurts. God, it hurts so badly."

Landon isn't just going to let Rachel walk away. He is going to use them being stuck on a ship together for the next six months to his advantage. He wants to make everything right and mend Rachel's broken heart. But in order to do that, he will need to tell her everything, which isn't going to be easy. He does everything in his power to get her to talk to him. Arranging day trips when they are on shore, and even going as far to steal her clothes and towels whilst she is in the shower.

"I am incapable of not pushing, because you're here. The simple fact that you're near throws every logical thought out the window."

Their journey consists of heartbreak, trust issues, moments of hope, and moments of weakness. But always in the background was a love story that really never ended. Landon will have to work with everything he has to win Rachel back and he was so damn determined to it.

I loved Landon! He was a little bit broken, but still strong and very brave. He was panty-melting swoony at times and so lovable. Rachel was a hard nut; she was sassy and fierce, but at the same time broken. While I loved her, she did frustrate me for the last 20% of the book. I just really wanted to shake her and scream "trust him, he loves you".

I love Rebecca Yarros and am a big fan of her books. I can't wait to see who she writes about next. I'm really hoping that Penna gets a story, because the girl deserves a break.

Ms Yarros can do no wrong in my book and she checked off the EPIC box yet again with this book. I loved Wilder, which set the tone for the next books and Nova benefited cause of that fact. The base was already set so the plot was able to start from the first page of the book.

There is nothing like a second chance at love and well both characters took it, while one tried to resist but in reality there was no resistance.

Pick up this series! You will thank me later.

This was fun and sweet and had some good surprises!

However, something felt a bit off for me and that made it take longer than I expected to get into the love story. I spent the first half wanting more backstory, ideally in flashbacks, of Landon and Rachel falling in love the first time. I had a harder time feeling their connection, until about 30% in.

The way he immediately started groveling was sort of disappointing too. I understand his role in their past, and how much he needed to work to make his mistakes up to Rachel, but, at least at first, I wanted more banter or sniping. Or for the two of them to try to be friends first and have their feelings grow again.

That said, these two had a complicated story and an intense connection that really made you root for them. They are just so very well-matched! I really enjoyed what they brought out in each other, and how supportive and just THERE they were. Sure, they had been apart for 2 years, but the reasons for that (and how they are revealed over time) just show the depth of their feelings.

There were some fun stunts and good suspense in this, which mixed the story up a bit in a great way. I have to admit that adventuring heroes and heroines are some of my favorites, and Rebecca Yarros hits the spot perfectly. The settings of the cruise ship and the various locales, like Everest/Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Korea are also refreshing and described well.

I enjoyed getting more of the other Renegades in this, especially Penna. From early on in this, I couldn't help but smile remembering just how much I really liked her character (and Pax and Leah, of course). The group dynamic is a lot of fun and the characters all really endearing.

Ultimately a nice addition to the series (Though I have to admit that it didn't match Wilder for me. Wilder was just THAT good!). I'm not sure I'd call it entirely a standalone, though it can be read that way. Anyone who hasn't read the first book will definitely finish this one with several unanswered questions.

Holy angst buckets, you guys. My heart is bearing the marks from the highs and lows of Rachel & Landon -- and it's so very happy with that completely gratifying ending, but -- oof. The road it took to get there was littered with challenges.

And I mean that both literally and figuratively. There are moments in this book that made my pulse pound with the same sort of adrenaline these amazing Renegades chase on the regular. There were moments I found myself physically incapable of putting this book down, my breath baited and heart skipping beats while I waited for the storylines to resolve themselves. Ms. Yarros got the action and the suspense just right -- and these moments, and how they served to move Rachel & Landon's romance forward -- were some of my favorite in the entire book.

I did struggle with the romance sometimes. I kept wanting things to move forward and I kept feeling like it was one step forward two steps back in a way that didn't always allow me to connect to the emotions. Don't get me wrong - there's no lack of emotion in Landon & Rachel's story -- and my heart is currently bearing the marks that prove it -- but it took a long time for the romance to pick up and my patience sometimes wore thin.

Did I still love the crap out of it? Yes. Every minute. Some more than others - but I loved this entire story so much. I adored the little peeks we got at Pax & Leah, and I equally adored the strong, supportive friendship between Rachel and Leah. I loved the action and the suspense, and the scorching chemistry between Rachel & Landon (when they allowed themselves to feel it). And - God, I'm basically dying for Penna's story now. I'm crazy hooked - hopelessly addicted to the high of these books and already anxious for more!

Nova was a wonderful, entertaining and page turning read. And I loved it!

In Nova, Landon gets his second chance with the one girl who's ever touched his heart, no slash that, the only girl who's ever owned his heart. The girl who takes his breath away, the only girl who can see past the all flirting to see the real Landon, and not Nova (Casanova) and the one girl who just gets him.
Now, if only he can make Rachel forgive him for the way things ended, for breaking her heart and trust in him...

I loved Rachel, she was such a wonderful, entertaining, honest, passionate character.
From the first few pages I connected with her. I got her pain, never once did I feel like she was over stating things. This girl had loved him unconditionally and while she may come to forgive Landon for what went down in the past, trusting him again with her heart won't be easy.
And nor should it be, just saying lol

I loved watching these two reconnect, they made me smile, they made me laugh, they made my heart hurt and they made me swoon.
And then there was their chemistry... O.M.G talk about HOT!!!

Rebecca Yarros is a talented author who has once again delivered a beautifully written and heartfelt storyline with captivating, endearing characters that will take you on a emotional rollercoaster while getting to their happily everafter.

In closing, if you're like me and enjoy second chance romances, then you will love Nova.

Nova is the second book from The Renegades series, and I highly recommend this book and series.

Nova releases on Feb 20th.

I was super excited to read Nova, book two in Rebecca Yarros' Renegade series as Wilder was a huge hit for me. It came out of nowhere for me and I became attached to all of the characters. Among them, Rachel and Landon aka "Nova" (Supernova or Casanova as he is known to the ladies.) What happened to them? Why was Landon self medicating with a bevy of women over the great loss of his one and only And can they come back from the past?

Before I started this one, I knew it was going to be a doozy, folks. This was going to be a heavy one. The angst, heartbreak and emotional wringer Rachel and Landon have been through was pretty obvious. You could just feel the emotional torture we would be in store for in book one. Two years earlier, Rachel and Wilder dated for a few months. But what happened when two people fell irrevocably in love with each other at the expense of other people? This is Landon and Rachel's story. Despite not wanting to hurt Wilder, they both fell in love and betrayed him (her boyfriend and his bestfriend.) But what we learned from book one was Landon sacrificed his relationship with Rachel for the sake of his friendship with Wilder and the rest of the Renegades. The result: his complete and utter abandonment of Rachel and the complete destruction of his heart.

I was absolutely spellbound by this story. The amount of pain, heartbreak and devastation felt by both parties was a huge hit to take. But I had hope. Yarros did a fantastic job making us FEEL the pain that Rachel suffered and the remorse that Landon felt. It was unequivocal on both ends. But while I loved their romance and the grovel Landon so righteously deserved to give, I felt that there were times that were reallly drawn out. In particular, I felt that the majority of the book was so heavily focused on their pain and suffering, that the "back and forth" was a bit draining. Rachel forgave him and wanted to give him another chance but Landon's "Casanova" reputation and her lack of trust in him would repeatedly make her question herself. It felt a bit cyclical.

All in all, however, I absolutely loved Rachel and Landon and NEEDED their story. Their love story was painful but equally poignant and beautiful. I can't wait for Penna's story! Bravo! 4 stars! ~Ratula

This book...Wow. After reading Wilder, I was a little unsure of Yarros. I enjoyed her writing, but I wasn't so sure about the series. However I couldn't be happier I gave it a second chance.

Nova is definitely worth the read, and did not disappoint. There were so many emotions coursing through me as I read this story. I was the nervous, sweaty hand girl that was unsure about what was going to happen. Rachel and Nova shared a past that was heavy enough to sink a ship. Watching them struggle and try to make it out above water was such an amazing and emotional journey.

Rachel and Nova share a past, a past of broken hearts and pain. When the two are thrown together again, and nowhere to hide, they just confront the demons they still hold on to.

Nova is an amazing read and one that you won't want to miss.

What would you do if you had a chance to correct the biggest mistake you'd ever made?
In Nova, the second book in The Renegades series, Landon aka Nova is faced with just that opportunity when Rachel joins the college at sea program.
After meeting Nova in Wilder, the first Renegades book, I was curious to get to know the real Landon behind the extreme athlete persona. It was amazing how having Rachel around seemed to flip a switch for him and he became a character that was incredibly easy to like and root for.
Because Landon was a character I found myself liking pretty quickly, there were times when I struggled with Rachel. I understood her reluctance and hurt, but it felt like there were times she was almost playing with Landon's emotions and that didn't sit well. Twists and turns later in the story redeemed her for me and I found myself hoping they would get their happy ending.
This is a well written and enjoyable book. There are times when the characters seem older than the 22 or 23 they are, but there are other times when they seem exactly like college students! While this is a stand alone book, there is a lot of valuable back story in the first book of the series (Wilder), so I would suggest reading the series in order.

The struggle is real. The heartbreak, the angst, the undeniable attraction, the romance, the uncertainty, the love…they’re all real! This story grabbed my emotions and held them hostage – I couldn’t be sure from one page to the next whether I’d be smiling or sobbing. There was heartache and sadness, and there was no quick fix. So I suffered along with Landon and Rachel, my heart broke along with theirs, and grabbed on to every fleeting piece of joy…in short, I loved every single word!

We met Landon (Nova) in book one of this series and heard just a little about his background, enough to understand that he was hurting. What we learn in this book is why. We begin to understand that some of the heartbreak is of his own doing and that now he’s living with the pain. And masking it by being a player…a “casanova”. When Rachel comes on the scene, we quickly understand that their history is the cause of both their unhappiness and of their broken hearts. But Landon refuses to believe that they can’t get past their, well, past. As these two come to terms with once again being together and having to face their pain, we’re treated to a story with so many dimensions and so much emotion that it’s difficult, if not impossible, to put down.

I loved Landon and his determination. I loved Rachel and her strength. And I loved seeing Wilder, Leah, and the rest of the Renegade family. Ms. Yarros puts her readers right into the action of extreme sports…and she captures them with the romance, the heartbreak, and the angst of the love story. This is a great series and I can’t wait for the next book!

Nova is book 2 in the Renegade series and one that I was dying to get my hands on! While you could read it as a stand alone, you shouldn't because book 1 was one of my top books of 2016. Nova will be on my list for 2017!

You know a book belongs on your top books list when you resent things in your life for stopping you from reading. I loathed my job for taking me away from my book. I was ticked that my dogs actually expected me to stop reading and feed them! I was desperate to read this book. I was pissed when I woke up in the morning because I realized I had fallen asleep reading when I fully planned to stay up all night to devour this book. Yeah, Nova is so going on my Top Reads list for sure. It might even maintain that top spot.

Nova (aka Landon) has been known as Casanova for his way with the ladies. LOTS of ladies. But, before he was 'Nova', he was a boy in love with a girl. And he chosen the Renegades instead of that girl. Rachel barely survived Landon abandoning her without so much as a goodbye. From that tragedy though she met her BFF, Leah (the heroine in Wilder). I truly wasn't sure I could ever forgive Landon for what had happened between him and Rachel. But, as her defenses cracked, so did mine. And when tragedy struck her again, I felt it as acutely as if it happened to me. This story totally tore my heart up! I also loved the slow burn between these two. Landon withholding sex...so swoonworthy!

If you are a fan of second chance romance, Nova needs to be at the top of your TBR. If you are a fan of new adult, Nova is your next book. If you are a fan of non-traditional sports romances, Nova is calling your name. Seriously, just read the damn book and thank me!

First, we were given Paxton Wilder and Leah… who taught us to “let go of fear and touch love” and now we Have Landon “Nova” Rhodes and Rachel who show us that being each other’s infinity is more important than any medal or trophy.

“For every inch I gave him, every part me that relaxed into him, there was a part of me banging even harder against the bars to flee.”

Rachel Dawson is Yarros’ strongest female character to date and will be hard to top. She has a sassy mouth and shows no mercy if you have pissed her off (just ask Landon). She is fierce. She is brave. I love how she is toe-to-toe with Landon with many of the stunts. Her smarts even lend a hand in planning said stunts. All of this is just proof to us how complete they make each other, however, her tenacity at guarding her heart was admirable and I think she would be a good example for all females.

“Losing love came with withdrawal symptoms for which there was no known relief.”

Nova was not always meant to be short for Casanova, but it was apparent from Wilder why it stuck. As penned in the book, this was a form of self-medicating from his own broken heart. His swoon worthy passages will melt your heart (no worries, Rachel will gladly be reminding us why he must try so hard), and really help you see him at his core. You see how lost he has been the past few years. You see just how much he will do for the one he loves. I have officially named him “the comeback kid” of romance characters.

This book was a long journey through hurt, hope, trust lost and won, and the kind of love that never fades. The stunts were things the normal person would never think to be possible. The comic relief (partially from Rachel being snarky) was sprinkled in perfectly through out this emotionally heavy book. This series also has a knack for revealing one secret (that can often be guessed), only to deliver another shock that you truly don’t see coming. Yarros definitely knows how to write a complete package of a book.

“Because love makes us do things we swear we’ll never do.”

This quote perfects the series thus far and I cannot wait to see how it will come through in Rebel.

This is second chance romance at its finest. Rebecca Yarros knocked it out of the park with Nova, the second Renegades book in the series. We pick up where we left off after Wilder (Book #1) finished with a heck of an ending. Rachel, Landon's first and only love, is on the ship with the rest of the Renegades and neither had any idea the other would be there. Landon not only screwed up his own heart when he walked away from Rachel years ago but he shattered her's. She has picked up the pieces of her heart but did she really ever get over Landon? Instead, she focused on helping Leah (our female lead in Wilder) get better and move on with her life but maybe she didn't with her own. She still loves Landon and hasn’t moved past him. Landon knows he screwed up and he tries so hard to get Rachel to understand but she is gun shy and weary of his promises. I have to give Landon credit though, he never gives up. He never stops trying because he realizes pretty quickly that Rachel is the only girl for him. Can he stop his Casanova ways and be the man Rachel needs?

Watching these two slowly work their way through the muck of their past and realize the brilliance of what could be their future was my favorite part of this book. A close second was the cool stunts and amazing places the Renegades go. You feel like you are in Nepal or riding a wakeboard behind a cruise ship with these crazies. Rebecca Yarros doesn't miss a single detail in this book. The story is consuming, the characters are well developed, and the details are on point!

5 SUPERNOVA CROWNS

Rebecca Yarros has ripped my heart to shreds with Nova. The pain, the tragedy, and the heartbreak felt by Rachel and Landon absolutely gutted me, and I loved every single torturous minute of their second chance romance.

These Renegades are something special. They have this allure that I cannot resist. Maybe it is their zealous nature to take risks with their stunts, their alpha ways with their significant others, or their hearts that show their passion for all avenues of their lives, but I love every single one of them, and I don't see it changing any time soon. What I enjoy most about them is the relationship between the originals. They are a family, even if it isn't blood. They love and support each other, and they sacrifice for each other without question. There is never any doubt about the family nature of this group, and the plot line that drives this whole series is one that has captivated me, creating immense excitement to see where Ms. Yarros takes this group over the next two books.

What makes this story, in particular, so gut-wrenching is the characters and the trauma they have endured from a love gone wrong. Landon is a womanizer, a true Casanova, but what the reader comes to understand is that he is attempting to forget, losing himself in women in an attempt to lessen the pain that radiates from his heart through his whole body. This pain is about more than what he has done to Rachel, but about what he has done to the whole group. Watching him attempt to forget in this manner only serves to increase reader sympathy for him, literally making readers' hearts ache for his pain. But, Landon is more than his pain, and when he makes a plan to win back Rachel, the only girl he has ever loved, he does so with all the passion and dedication of a Renegade. He never yields, but what I love is that he never bulldozes her. He takes into account what she needs from him, how he has hurt her, and he calculates the best way to show her he needs her, loves her, and wants her for infinity. He is man not just of words but of actions, and both had me falling head over heels in love with this hero.

Rachel is broken, even though she tries to hide behind her walls, she has never healed from the loss that is Landon. What makes her pain more palpable is watching her Landon behave and act as Nova. Every single time she witnesses this, whether it is happening in the present or someone from the past returns, it breaks her heart, and readers along with it. Readers will want her to heal, they will want her to take a chance on him again, but most of all they will want her to be brave, to finally let down the walls. There are moments of frustration with her character as she is incredibly stubborn, particularly with Landon, but I found I couldn't blame her. How can you blame someone who had their soul shattered for trying to protect herself from the man that broke it? You can't. The eventual courage she exhibits in order to break down her wells and allow herself to truly love and trust Landon again had me in complete awe of her! She is truly a complex character with so many layers, and I admire every single one.

This story is a slow burn. It has a completely different tone from Wilder, but it is beautiful just the same. Rebecca Yarros will strip you down to your soul with Landon and Rachel's love story. Within the opening pages, my heart ached for these characters, as her words so poignantly convey their emotions and pain that I felt it in my own body. Each word and act only serves to destroy readers piece by piece, as the author takes the time to flesh out what went wrong with their relationship, and she makes her characters pay penance for their errors, crushing readers' hearts right along with the characters. But what I love most about this story is that it also about healing. It is about letting go of the past and moving forward, and just as readers' hearts will break with Landon and Rachel, it heals with them as well. Their faith is restored with each word and act from Landon, and even when it all falls apart, as it inevitably does, readers are rooting for them to find a way back to each other, because there is not doubt that these two are each other's forever. This story is the epitome of a well written romance that gets down into the soul of its readers and shows the power of real and passionate love. This is the romance women and girls dream about, to be loved so deeply and purely.

What readers will also enjoy about this story is that there are so many secrets that are revealed about what occurred in the past. Through the plot development, readers find that there is much more than they ever understood about Landon and Rachel. In the interest of preventing spoilers, that is all I will say, but know that there are so many layers to their romance that allows for forgiveness and understanding in an authentic and believable way.

Rebecca Yarros writing is absolutely flawless. Her stories, her words, and her characters always find a way to burrow into my heart, and I find myself living each and every moment with them. Her talent astounds me, and I will automatically one-click anything she writes because I know it will be brilliant, beautiful, poignant, just AMAZING.

Absolutely LOVED this book!! I wanted to hate Landon "Nova" Rhodes. I should have hated Nova but in the end I just adored him. He gets a second chance with Rachel. The woman some say broke him but the truth is he broke both of them. Secrets, lies, and blackmail may have pushed him to do it but that doesn't make it all right. Now that Rachel is back in his world for the next few months he plans to do whatever it takes to get her back. Will he be able to grovel enough to win her heart again or will the secrets of the past be the thing that drives them apart forever?

You don't want to miss this one. I highly recommend it.
