This was Luke and Ravens story.
Great story.

I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Luke Reynolds is trying to find a place for himself now that he’s the last member of his pack without a mate. While out on a drive, he stops at a broken down van where he finds Raven, a fellow wolf in need. Raven left her cruel pack in search of help for her and her sister with the closest pack. After her van breaks down, a man pulls up to help her. When Raven senses he’s also a wolf, she’s not sure if she should trust him after everything she’s been through.
I’ve read a couple of the books in this series, so I’m already pretty familiar with this world. This one was just as good as the others. It’s obvious from the beginning that Raven and Luke are meant for eachother, especially when he puts his life in danger to protect her until the end. I really loved watching Raven through the whole thing as she basically goes from victim to a survivor who finds happiness. It’s another great book by a great author. I highly recommend.

Wow! Talk about crazy alpha in a bad way…

Raven has been turned into a werewolf without her consent and is now “part” of the Sedona Pack. In this case being “a part of” means you’re either an outright prisoner or they are using extortion to make you stay. Desperate to escape from the crazies, Raven decides to make a run for it and go to the Reno Pack and ask for their assistance. Only she runs out of gas on the highway not so far from the city. When a lone car stops to check on her, and the driver turns out to be a wolf from the very pack she was going to, it seems the Gods are finally on her side.

Luke needed some space from his pack. Being the only one still without a mate was far from fun, so when the opportunity to be a head trainer in a ranch in Sedona came up, he didn’t hesitate to take it. As luck would have it that the hot chick stranded on the highway with tales of a crazy pack and a warning for his family, just turned out to be his true mate. With his protective instincts at full force, he can’t let Raven go back to the pack, so they’ll have to come up with a plan to take care of it. The more he learns, though, the more twisted he finds the Sedona Pack who are led by an old enemy of his family. Now they either fix the problem or lose any possibility of a future together.

Raven was a really tough chick. She was in a less than ideal situation, but still tried to change it against every odd. She was caring, loyal, had a playful side and was quite snarky.

Luke was a sexy alpha wolf, while at his old pack he was under the shadow of his twin, here he grew into himself. Once he touched Raven he was 1000% committed to taking her out of that place and he would stop at nothing to make her happy. I really liked how determined he was to help the innocents of the Sedona Pack, making him an honorable and compassionate man. In other words, Luke is the shit.

Wolf Moon is action packed to the point where you want it to stop every once in a while. I felt I couldn’t relax once since it started, as the constant threat of discovery and failure relentlessly harassed them. I enjoyed how Luke and Raven’s relationship progressed. While it was still an “I-touched-you-and-now-I-know-you’re-my-mate” insta-love, Raven introduction to werewolfery made it hard for them to just jump into it.

Now that all the wolves at the Reno Pack are mated but the menace of Nero is still out there, I wonder if the author will give mates to all the new sexy wolves in the Sedona Pack… And if so, I can’t wait to get my hands on their stories!

Luke has come to Sedona to scope out a few things and work training horses. He is the baby of the pack and the only unmated pack member in Reno where he came from. When he sees Raven's van stuck in the side of the road he stops to help and she tells him more than she thought she would. Raven was actually running to his pack to save her sister and herself from Caldwell who is the crazy Alpha. Caldwell is taken humans who no one would miss and having wolf shifters bite them to turn them into wolves and build his army. Luke doesn't know why but his pull to help Raven save her sister and herself makes sense to him.

When Luke and Raven finally touch skin to skin both of their wolves are happy because Raven is the mate Luke thought he would never find. Raven is slow to trust as her only experiences with men have been a disappointment but she senses Luke isn't like that now if they can only survive. I just loved how Luke and Raven were so in tune with each other and how they each fit so perfectly together. This is not just a love story it's a fight for survival.

"Moon Wolf" was my first book in the Moon series but it won't be my last. It was a sweet, sexy, action-filled story that kept me reading, wondering how Luke and Raven would get their happy ending. Of course, being me, I started late in the series with book seven. Cuz that's how I roll. 😊 Despite being the seventh book n the series, it worked pretty well as a stand alone. Many of the events and the main action are directly due to events in previous books but Kessler did a good job of weaving in back story without doing an info dump or slowing down the story. The story did slow down a bit around the halfway mark but it picked back up again quickly.

Luke and Raven were good together, and I loved that though their wolves recognized each other as mates, their humans still had a say in things and they had to learn to trust each other and respect each other. Luke had just about given up hope of finding his true mate while Raven didn't know such a thing existed. He's a born wolf from a healthy pack while she's a bitten wolf from a dysfunctional pack. Luke was sweet, thoughtful, considerate, stubborn, and sometimes impulsive. Raven was wary, cautious, loyal, feisty, and capable of taking care of herself, though it took her a while to realize that.

And then we get shifter politics. I did get a bit confused at times with all the politics and who was working for whom, maybe because I came into the series so late, but I was able to keep track of the players most of the time. Kessler's world has more shifters than wolves, they don't all get along, and her world building was strong. I want to know more about this world and get to know the rest of the Sedona Pack as well as learn more about Raven and her family.

"Wolf Moon" was a near seamless mix of urban fantasy, action, and romance. I cared about the characters, got caught up in the politics, and want to see more of her shifters. While this book worked as a stand alone, if you're interested, it might be best to start at the beginning of the series to fully understand what's going on.

Luke Reynolds came to Sedona to get away from his pack and to find himself. He loves his new job as a horse trainer. When he stops to help a stranded woman, he learns that she's a wolf shifter and that there's a plot by a renegade alpha working with Nero to attack and destroy the Reno pack. With Raven, by his side, Luke is determined to stop Allen Caldwell, a sadistic mad man who uses force and violence to increase his pack and his power. Luke is strong, fierce and protective. Raven is his mate and he won't let Caldwell or his guards harm her. These two are an unbeatable pair. These great characters drew me into the story. The action is non stop and filled with tension. I loved the chemistry between Luke and Raven. They're a passionate couple who share an intense bond. I enjoyed seeing familiar characters from previous stories. I liked the continuity. Lisa Kessler skillfully tells a suspenseful story that kept me on the edge of my seat. The surprising twist at the end was a shock. I can't wait for the next book in the Moon series to find out what happens next.
I received a copy of this book. I voluntarily read it and my comments are my honest opinion.

Just loved this book! I’ve been waiting to see what would happen to Luke and Lisa Kessler did not disappoint. Like the other books in the series there is a lot of heart, humor, and heat, but this one brings a darker, edgier tone as Luke must deal with an evil, twisted pack that holds his future in its hands.

Luke…*sigh*…all he wants is to find his mate. He’s seen what finding a mate can bring and he wants to find his own happy ever after. He’s also seen what not finding a mate can do to a wolf – not something he wants to even think about since it hits too close to home. Luke has been a great supporting character in the previous books in this series – always loyal, puts the pack first, and always there for everyone, especially his twin brother, so it was great to see him finally step out on his own and look for his own future and happiness. Of all the characters in the series I’ve always thought Luke was the most emotional one…and when he finds his mate that emotion ramps up to alpha conditions and he is one driven wolf – driven to protect and free his mate from Caldwell’s pack as well as doing whatever he can to protect his Reno Pack from the threat of Nero. Of course trying to balance out all that alpha and not putting himself and Raven in even more danger is not an easy task.

Raven could hold her own. Even though she’s had a tough life she is still an optimist at heart, and meeting Luke has given her that spark of hope she needs to believe that things might just work out. I love the way she’s always cracking little jokes, bringing a smile to Luke’s face even when they had to face some really awful things.

I love how the story arc is progressing and the tie in to Caldwell’s pack added a great dimension to this story and the series. Although we didn’t get to much time with the characters from the other books their presence was felt – especially in his phone conversations with his alpha, Adam, and also with his twin Logan.

Although this is part of a larger story arc of the Moon series, this can easily be read as a standalone without anything being missed in the story. Of course I would recommend you start at the beginning to meet the entire Reno pack and understand the larger story arc…but then again this is one of my favorite series! Definitely check this one out – for that matter, any Lisa Kessler book is worth a read!

I received a copy of this story and am reviewing it voluntarily.

Luke takes a job away from his small pack as a horse trainer. He is the only unmated man in his pack and feels like he doesn't belong. He loves horse training and this is a great opportunity for him to show how good he is.

Raven is with a local pack and longs to escape. They turned her against her will and is abused and treated cruelly everyday, as soon as she can get out with her sister they will run. The man who leads the pack is truly demented. He wants to grow the numbers in the pack so people are turned against their will and women are only tolerated because they can be breeders. His plan is to kill off another pack, which happens to be Luke's family.

Luke meets Raven and he decides to help her get her sister and escape. He has a plan...

Will he be able to infiltrate the pack and get Raven and her sister their freedom while keeping his own family alive?

Luke had a good family life but Raven's was totally the opposite. She doesn't trust any man so when she starts to feel attraction toward Luke it really throws her. She fights her feelings for him but yet she worries for his safety while he is trying to help her.

The characters are written well and I feel like I know enough about them. Raven is smart and much stronger than she feels she is, she just doesn't realize it. Her sister is pretty tough also, I'd like to read her story!

Wolf Moon is the seventh volume in the Moon Series about a werewolves pack in Nevada, but it can easily be read alone as there are enough elements about the previous stories to understand the general plot. We follow Luke, the last unmated member of the pack, who, feeling uneasy with all these couples, decided to take a job as horse trainer in another state. Shortly afterwards he meets Raven who tries to flee the local pack.

First I must point out that this novel is written in the first person, a style I don’t appreciate and I always feel less grabbed with it. Here the effect is lessen by an alternation of chapters told by the hero and the heroine points of view, however I’d have liked to be warned before beginning.

The story is quite dark: the local pack’s alpha has decided to increase his troops by turning by force many people, all without family or relation, and to have them mating together or with other members in order to conceive a new generation. The newly turned are locked in a warehouse to avoid any escape. The heroine herself was turned against her wish and forced to live several months with the man who bit her and his brother, in the hopes of her becoming pregnant. The horror of this forced cohabitation is only mentioned in evasive words, which is better for those who can’t stand descriptions of sexual violence, but can be disconcerting at times as it’s way too vague. However there’s a lot of other violence (fights, murders) present very described.

When it comes to the couple we have a story about fated mates with characters who recognize the other at the first skin-to-skin touch. It’s very common in paranormal romance, but here there’s still an evolution of the feelings through the heroine’s first reluctance because of what she went through with the brothers and because of her father’s disappearance when she was young.

All in all I didn’t dislike this novel which has qualities but I didn’t like it either. There are details that seemed to me implausible and I wasn’t grabbed, sorry.

At last it is Luke's turn! Luke was the only unmated member of his pack and was feeling something of a misfit because of it. He took a job as head horse trainer on a ranch outside Sedona, Arizona and certainly didn't anticipate the change in his life endeavouring to rescue a damsel in distress on his way into town. The damsel is Raven Wood, a feisty young lady who had been bitten and turned against her will by members of the Sedona Pack. She was trying to escape from that pack when Luke discovered her. He can't believe what has been happening in Sedona and hearing that the Sedona Pack, supported by Nero, are going to attack his pack is the start of another brilliant, action packed shifter confrontation and romance by this highly talented author.

I loved escaping into this superb paranormal adventure. The author manages to interweave so many threads, complete with unexpected twists and turns, making this a terrific tapestry filled with intricate details that never fail to please. Raven's determination to escape, taking her sister with her, is key to many of the events and she's one powerful alpha female, a force in her own right despite what she has been through. How Luke works with the dysfunctional Sedona pack members, starting to teach them what being pack should mean, the captives and those who'll work with Luke all make this an enthralling read, a real page turner that I didn't want to put down until I'd discovered what happens in the end. I have no hesitation in highly recommending this - and all the other books in this series! I'm now desperate to discover what will happen next and hope Lisa is off *type*type*typing* again!

I received a copy of this novel via NetGalley and volunteered to read it. This review is my honest opinion.

This was my first book from this series, but I think diving in here was just fine. The story was easy to follow and gave me lots of good intro along the way.

Luke is the last unmated member of his pack. To try to avoid the constant reminder, he set off on his own to find himself (sort of). While out and about one day, he couldn't help stopping to offer assistance to a woman in a broken down van. Raven was forcibly turned into a werewolf by her then boyfriend now abuser. Inducted into a pack formed for the sole purpose of attacking others, she's desperate to escape. On her escape attempt, however, her van ran out of gas, putting her in the direct line of sight of Luke.

Luke, of course, can't let this stand and is even more determined to help Raven upon discovering that his old pack's arch-nemesis is planning to come attack and destroy them. They're both forced to make hard decisions to save all the innocent people who have been dragged into this mess. This book was so engaging that I found myself worried about all the side characters, too. Will they each get spin off books? Will I ever find out what happens to them? While totally happy with the unorthodox happily ever after, I still want more!

I sure did wait patiently for this one in this series. Sometimes that is hard to do but for this author I will. This one is one that will most certainly keep you on edge with what is what. Luke is yet to have found his mate so he search widens. When he helps Raven he knows but there are lots of obstacles. She is not in a good place but see how this author takes us on what will go on. This author will give you plenty of drama along the way with the excitement at times almost explosive. Bit of a suspense I would say too as things progress. Best part of all though watching love build and grow, with this author doing it so well.

I love Lisa Kessler's writing! I enjoyed Wolf Moon, and I'm enjoying looking at that cover! This is part of a series, but it could be read as a standalone, but there are some cameos from characters from the previous books, so you may want to check out those books first, but I don't think it is absolutely necessary. In Wolf Moon, Raven was bitten against her will and turned into a werewolf, and is in a wolf pack that is into some nefarious things and the Alpha makes women mate against their will, so Raven decides to escape and ask another wolf pack for help, but along the way she runs into Luke, who is part of the very pack she was on her way to see. After hearing all the terrible things that are going on in Raven's wolf pack, Luke agrees to help Raven out, and all the others who are trapped by the controlling Alpha. Luke and Raven come up with a plan to bring Raven's Alpha down, and along the way the two begin to grow closer, but it's difficult for their relationship to grow within the situation they find themselves in. Raven's Alpha is having humans bitten against his/her will and turned into werewolves, so he can create a bigger pack to take out other wolf packs, and is forcing women to mate with multiple males, so they will get pregnant, and on top of that, if someone in the pack doesn't do what he says, he kills them. Raven is in a really bad situation, but I love that she stands up for herself, and does what she can to help all those trapped under the Alpha's iron fist. I thought it was really cool that Luke is a horse trainer, I almost want to say I found Luke to be a bit tame, but that makes him sound bad, and he wasn't, he is a strong guy, who puts himself on the line for others, which I found admirable; he's a really good guy, and he's a romantic, which is adorable. Luke and Raven have some really tough things to get through, and they both show extreme strength in some really intense situations. I liked the romance between Luke and Raven, and they do have some hot and sweet moments, but I do feel like I would've liked a bit more depth to their romance; it's good, but I felt like I wanted more intense emotion between the two. They are sexually passionate, but I wanted them to be emotionally passionate as well, but even with those little gripes, I still found the romance sweet and lovely. Good, solid entertaining read! Looking forward to the next!

“There is no one in the world I would rather be stuck with in this snake pit of a Pack than you.”

Another smile crept up on me as I leaned in. “You really know how to sweep a girl off her feet.”

His lips curved as he came closer, stealing my breath. “You’re the only girl I care to sweep.”

“Lucky me…” My words faded as his mouth met mine.

Lisa Kessler’s Moon series fans have waited a long time for Luke's story. The great news is that it’s finally here and it’s well worth the wait! Wolf Moon is romantic, suspenseful, action-packed, fast-paced, and utterly yummilicious. It is the story of two wolf shifters: Luke Reynolds and Raven Wood.

While Wolf Moon is the seventh book in Lisa’s awesome Moon series, Wolf Moon can be easily read as a stand-alone, if that is your preference. The romantic relationship and the development of the danger plot are fully contained within this novel. Just know that there are interconnected characters and an underlying threat that has built up throughout the series.

Luke is the last of his pack without a mate. As the story opens, Luke has taken a position as the lead horse trainer at Valley Farms in the Sedona area. Since his alpha is the lead horse trainer at his pack’s ranch, Luke felt that he needed to go elsewhere to advance his career. He still misses his pack back in Reno, Nevada – but it was difficult for him to be the odd man out in the Pack. While driving back to Sedona one evening, Luke stops to help a woman whose van has broken down and his life takes on new meaning.

Meanwhile, Raven is living a nightmare. She belongs to the Sedona Pack which is autocratically run by an evil alpha, Allen Caldwell. Caldwell is a control freak and is shockingly expanding his pack by changing humans without their permission. Caldwell is also in cahoots with the nefarious Nero Organization. Caldwell has ‘mated’ Raven with two wolf shifter brothers. While attempting to escape, her van breaks down just outside Sedona. Not long afterwards, a tall man in a Mustang stops to help. It doesn’t take long for Raven to discover he’s a wolf shifter; he doesn’t belong to her pack and is in mortal danger from the Sedona Pack; and his twin brother is rock star Logan of the Howlers. She’s a huge fan of their songs!

Luke was born a wolf; Raven was bitten and turned against her will. Both Luke and Raven were great characters with steamy chemistry. Could there be an HEA in the cards for them? It’s certainly not going to be easy.

Most of this story takes place around Sedona, Arizona. Lisa describes the vortex: “You can see the entire galaxy up there. More stars than you ever knew existed.” I've never been to Sedona, but reading this makes me want to go! I had many favorite scenes, but, when I think back over the scenes I swooned over, I see the couple on a mountaintop viewing the vortex and engaging in other extremely pleasurable activities.

Following please find a few of my favorite quotes from Wolf Moon:

“For the record…” I took her hand and held it up. “These are the only hands I want on me.”
---

“Do they send all of you jaguars through some elitist asshole training course?”
---

“Everything okay?”

“I’m not sure, but it’s not shittier, so that’s something.”

She laughed. “Still an optimist.”
---

“You taste better than bacon.”

WooHoo! The next book in this series will be New Moon - #8 in the series. It will be Sebastian's story - and the series finale! I'm excited, but also sad to see the series ending.

Lisa is one of my favorite authors. Her books are all must-reads for me. I’ve literally inhaled everything she’s published. I truly believe that she spins magic into her writing as her books are, without exception, addictive pleasures. Luke and Raven’s story is a roller coaster ride with a multitude of thrilling hairpin turns and steep curves! It’s teeming with danger and delightfully titillating romance. Wolf Moon is an exciting addition to Lisa’s highly entertaining Moon series and I highly recommend it to fans of paranormal urban fantasy romance.

Wolf Moon by Lisa Kessler is FANTASTIC. It has the wonderful Luke Reynolds who finds his true mate in inexcusable and intolerable circumstances in Sedona. However, instead of grabbing Raven Wood and running, they work together to help others while building the trust that Raven needs to truly love Luke. The theme of good versus evil is common in paranormal stories but this book takes that concept so much further. Personal sacrifice and responsibility to those in need, along with standing up against the bullies of the world are just some of the ideals that Luke portrays. Ms. Kessler has given us a hero to admire as well as love.

This is an excellent addition to the series. While it is possible, I guess to read it as a stand-alone, it is highly unlikely that one will not want to read the entire amazing series after reading Wolf Moon. Well done, can’t wait for the next in the series.

Lisa has knocked another great one out of the park. Her Moon Series is filled with tension, love, good and evil, making you cheer for the good guys, and boo for the bad guys.

Wolf Moon is the story of Raven and Luke and their search for love while fighting Allen Caldwell and his werewolves. Will they find someone to help them fight Caldwell, or do it on their own?

Great fun - keeps you on the edge of your seat.

I really liked it fast paced drama filled read. The story has great characters and plenty of steam and suspense to keep you hooked from beginning to end.
