'Wolf Moon' by Lisa Kessler is book Seven in the "Moon" series. This is the story of Raven Wood and Luke Reynolds. This can be a standalone book if you haven't read the others. Raven was just a regular women in Sedona and dating a man who turned out to be a wolf in the Sedona Pack. He bit her to make her a pack member as the Sedona Pack Alpha is trying to build up his pack. There Raven and now her sister are suffering at the packs hands. Until she thinks to escape and try to get help but her car breaks down which leads her to Luke. Luke is a pack member in Reno wolf pack. There he has been the only one not to find a mate so feeling the odd man out and somewhat down about it left to become a horse trainer in Sedona. When he sees Raven broken down he tries to help her but starts to learn from her that the pack she is being forced into is trying to destroy his pack in Reno. They set out to try and out smart the Sedona pack while trying to save the innocent people taken. But Luke also finds that Raven is his mate that he has been looking for...this puts and extra stress to keeping her safe. "My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read."
This is the seventh book in the series and I must say I was so happy to see it out . Wolf Moon is the newest novel by Lisa Kessler. Let me introduce you to Luke and Raven. Luke is the last wolf in the Reno pack and the last man to find his mate . So he heads to Sedona to break free and become his own man. He never thought he would find his mate until the day Raven came into his life . A chance meeting at the side of the road and the war that is bound to happen . Raven and Luke realize that they are destined to be together. Will they overcome their insecurities and the wolf pack out to get them . To realize that they are suppose to be together .
As a fan of the moon series , I have been waiting for a long time for Luke's story . He has been on the back burner for awhile . I love the characters in this story , Luke is a horse trainer and sexy as sin . The man can wear a pair of wranglers . He is strong and sweet wants to do the best for himself and for his pack . He really doesn't take no for an answer and does the best for everyone . Ladies you will fall for the sexy wolf trust me .
Raven is such a good character . She is strong but yet weak in ways . She was turned against her will . She has bad trust issues and doesn't want to be anything to anyone . All she wants is to be free along with her sister . You see the transformation in Raven as you read along in the book . Luke teaches her to trust and love again. Lisa also has Sedona as a character in the book , the way she describes the scenery and the people . It felt like you are right there especially when she describes the vortex . I so want to see that . Where you can see all stars in the galaxy . It sounds breathtaking .
You can read this book as a stand alone but to get the full picture I would read all the books in the series . So you can be acquainted with the rest of the characters that are mentioned through out the book. The book is a fast read and you can read it in an evening . You will love the characters and the story just keeps getting better and better . You can snuggle down with a glass of wine and read all about Luke and Raven . Have a tissue or two beside you there are a couple of scenes that might make you cry . I enjoyed this story very much and can't wait to read the other stories that Lisa is writing . So if you want an enjoyable read for a cold snowy night . Check out WOLF MOON by Lisa Kessler
Luke Reynolds is the only unmated member of the Reno wolf pack. So, he has decided to go out on his own for a while.
Helping the young woman who ran out of gas is second nature to him.
Raven Wood is desperately trying to get away from the Sedona pack. If only she can get up to Reno before her alpha finds her,
The evil alpha is is growing his pack in a very bad way and terrorizes most of them. He is also in league with someone who wants the Reno pack destroyed.
An all action and at times emotional story, with very strong characters. The ending is not what I expected.
This is part of a series but easily read as a stand alone. It will tempt you to get the others. Also with all the new characters we meet I'm hoping there will be many more stories to come. I'm addicted.
An awesome read !
Luke, the lone unmated wolf in his pack takes up a job in Sedona, hoping to start a new life.
Raven, bitten against her will, is trapped in a pack whose Alpha is more like a mob boss.
Looking for a way out of the pack for herself and her sister, she meets Luke.
Luke being the gentleman he is, is determined to help Raven , especially when he learns that her Alpha, Caldwell is going to attack his pack. The stakes go up when he realizes that Raven is his mate. Will Luke be able to save the day for everyone involved ?
The Wolf moon is an action paced, fast paced, suspenseful romance that will keep you hooked. I practically inhaled this book and can't wait to read more in the series.
I am not sure why I could not get into this book, the plot was good, the characters were interesting but I never really got involved in the story like I should have normally.
Part could be because I had not read any of the other books in the series but it was pretty much stand-alone but I always felt like I was just on the outside-looking-in .
The main couple of Luke and Raven had a good story although it dragged in places, the fact (without details thankfully) of just basically assigning women to have sex with members of the "evil" pack did not sit well and the ending while nothing wrong with it was not the one I would have preferred so call it my own fault but it just was a good story that did not grab me like I thought it would when I read the synopsis.
Although this is part of a series, Wolf Moon can be read as a standalone.
Luke is the youngest and the last unmated werewolf in his pack. He hasn't found his fated mate as yet and it's not for lack of trying. He decides to broaden his horizon by moving to Sedona as a head horse trainer. He is very good at what he does and working outdoors suits him just fine.
Raven is a barmaid. She has been turned into a werewolf against her will. After going through a tough childhood, this has only added more grief to her life. She feels trapped.
Raven is trying to get out of town to seek help from another pack when her car breaks down. She can't use her phone to call for help as she is afraid of Caldwell, her evil alpha. When Luke spots her, he is only too willing to go to the rescue of a "damsel in distress". She is very reluctant to accept his help as life has left her with little or no trust in anyone but her sister, Isabelle.
Luke convinces her that he is the good guy and when she learns of his origin, she starts to tell him about the atrocities going on in her pack. Luke is disgusted with what he hears and educates her on the true meaning of pack life. She is surprised as she doesn't know any better. Then again her alpha has turned into a "mob boss" who uses fear and violence for obedience. He has this delusion which is dangerous to shifters and humans alike. Luke swears to Raven that he will save her and her sister. He is even more determined when he discovers that she is his fated mate. He is not about to lose her after waiting for so long. Raven is now aware of the true meaning of a mate. They have to find a way to stop all this madness but the more they uncover, the worse it gets. Their plan doesn't work out the way that they intended and they find themselves in mortal danger. Can they find a way to stop Caldwell and start the life they are meant to have?
This novel is very well balanced with the right amount of romance, suspense, drama and all the other ingredients for a paranormal novel. The plot is solid and the characters are very well developed. Luke and Raven are lovable and loving lead characters. Logan's presence makes it even more enjoyable. The bond between Raven and her sister feels genuine. I quite like Vance and find him rather intriguing. I hope we get to read his story. It would also be nice to see if Isabelle finds what she is looking for. I really enjoyed reading this delectable story and recommend to lovers of the paranormal.
I was kindly issued with an advanced ecopy from the publisher via NetGalley. The views expressed are my personal opinion.
As always, I am excited to see a new book by Ms. Kessler, and this book was no exception. Raven who was bitten and turned werewolf against her will can’t stand being in her pack anymore and wants to get her and her sister away from it. She runs into Luke, who is from another pack, and she tells him her Alpha is going to take out his pack. Together, they come up with a plan to find out what her Alpha is up to. Will they find a way to stop him, or will they lose both their packs and their love? I really can’t say enough good things about Ms. Kessler’s writing. There is so much love and tenderness between her characters, including in this book, it’s wonderful. The action is quick, and the book moves along so smoothly, you don’t even realize how much you have read. To be honest, this is the first book I’ve read in the series, and I wasn’t lost at all. I do think, however, having said that, there were probably things I was missing not having read the rest. As I stated above, I really can’t say enough good things about this book, and all of the author’s works I’ve read in general. If you like an all-around romantic, quick, great read, you can’t go wrong with this book. Highly recommend!
Thanks to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing, LLC for the e-copy of the book. This same review will be posted on both Goodreads and Amazon.
Luke Reynolds is afraid he will never find his mate and as much as he loves his pack he is having a hard time with all the lovey dovey going on around him. So he takes to the road and gets a job in Sedona, Arizona where he meets a damsel in distress who just happens to be his mate. Her distress may just get them both killed.
Luke was just this side of petulant at the start but that quickly goes away as he buries himself in his work. It took him forever to figure out Raven was his mate. I liked Raven. She has been through hell but still retains her self worth. We meet some interesting characters in the Sedona pack and some real assholes too.
Luke and Raven must work together to save their respective packs from a megalomaniacal jerk and if they happen to fall in love along the way it just gives them a reason to survive.
Wolf Moon is a terrific addition to the series and a joy to read.
Hot and Sexy!! A book that was thrilling to the last page, and I couldn't put it down!!!
a well-written and unique romance .I enjoyed it from start to finish. GOOD!

Genre: romance,
I’d read and enjoyed the first five books in this series, but somehow missed book six...still, these can be read as standalone stories so that didn’t matter.
There is an overall story arc to the series with the Nero connection, but that seems to have taken a real backseat in this book. There are references to Nero and the people within it, but its a very minor part of the book. I’d have liked to see more Nero involvement, without it this becomes just a shifter romance, and there’s a deluge of them on the market.
Lisa’s writing is always very good, but the Nero connection gave this series the edge IMO.
So we meet Luke and Raven. We do hear from others in his pack, but in this book they’re very much in name only, its mainly just Luke and Raven and the Sedona Pack.
Poor Raven, turned against her will and against werewolf rules, is trapped in the Sedona pack. I really felt for her and her sister, stuck there with her.
The pack Alpha is in league with Nero, and is growing his pack quickly, against werewolf law and tradition, mating the females up with whoever he wants to reward to breed more werewolves. He wants a strong and loyal pack, and is searching out and turning people with abilities to help him achieve that, if they don’t have close family and won’t be missed.
Forget the fated Mate connection, he’s not interested in that, just in rewarding those men loyal to him with females, and the ladies don’t have any say in the matter.
What an awful life. Raven is determined to escape with her sister, and when she meets Luke and they touch, the need grows stronger and they discover they are mates.
Luke hates the thought of her going back to the pack, but she must, to save her sister and to prevent war on Luke’s pack. That looks inevitable though when they learn of the Sedona Alpha’s plans and the Nero connection.
I loved Luke and Raven, but the story felt a little slick, everything fell into place too well, even when there were issues they were dealt with quickly.
Compared to earlier reads this one did feel very simplistic, maybe I just needed more Nero connection, a bit more angst and anger.
I’m kind of confused about the Nero crew too, as to which way the major players are swinging, what side are they really one, are they playing bluff or double bluff? I like that kind of thing, trying to work out what people really have in mind.
Compared to that intrigue the Sedona stuff just seemed to flip by too easily, issues sorted too simply.
Its still a fun read, still a great addition to the series but looking back at my past reviews the ones I’ve enjoyed the most have been the ones where Nero takes a stronger part.
Stars: Four, a good read, but I needed a bit more Nero to make it a five.

Wolf Moon was my first book from this author and even though it is the seventh book in the series you can easily read it without the others. Important facts are repeated and I had absolutely no problem following the storyline.
The writing style is refreshingly easy. Everything was logical and there were no plotholes or other confusing issues that would have lessened my reading joy. I really liked the characters that were played bad cards and yet were able to make the best of it. The author managed to portray them with few words and give each person unique character traits. It made the characters real and the story really entertaining.
Possible SPOILER from here on
But, even though the writing style is good and the characters were well portrayed parts of the story were not what I expected. That may be because I have a hard time with stories where shifters are used to “breed” for world domination and I do not like useless deaths. It is cruel (of course) and I am not a fan of these things in a book.
What I really liked was the fact that the evil people were not necessarily the real evil here. There were a few sideplots that were not completely solved and I am excited to see where they go.
All in all Wolf Moon was a quick good read and I would read more books from this series.
3,5 stars.
Wolf Moon by Lisa Kessler is Book 7 of the Moon Series. Even though this book is part of a series, you can read it without any issues. I do highly recommend your reading them though as they are fantab!
This is another great edition to the series, and with plenty of action and suspense, not to mention the chemistry and heat sizzling between Luke and Raven, you can’t go wrong with this story. Nicely done Ms. Kessler.
Please note that an ARC was generously provided in exchange for an honest review of which this is both honest and completely voluntary.
3 stars
This is the seventh book in this series. I have read the first few but I picked this one up because the description intrigued me. It can be read as a stand-alone but I didn't feel the connection to the characters that I would have liked. Don't get me wrong, it was entertaining but I just became frustrated with the HUGE plot holes/points that didn't make any sense. It was shaky ground and I just trudged on to finish the story. It was an ok read.
Another great book in the moon series to add to our bookshelf. Even if you have not read the other books you can still enjoy this one but, I highly recommend the entire series.
Luke is the last this pack without a mate and decides to move and start a new position. This is where he meets Raven who belongs to the local pack and things are not as they should be. In order to save her he gets involved in their pack without knowing Nero is in play.
The book moves quickly and smoothly with lots of action and of course romance. Luke's pack gives you a sense of family and loyalty while teaching others what true pack life should be. A few surprises along with a very satisfying ending.
The author works her own type of magic on the reader pulling you into her world of wolf shifters and romance. A combination that has become a guilty obsession of mine.....not to mention my love of everything I've read by this author. It's sure to become a guilty addiction of yours too! Once you get a taste of this author you're sure to want more
