Nice book, full of good wisdom. Lots of good advice. I enjoy the premise that we are all awesome! The author did a good job being uplifting.
I actually read this book before but was trying to do one challenge a day and didn't quite finish it. I recently picked this book back up and just read through it. As a creative person, I LOVE this book!! Even if you do not consider yourself creative, there are challenges that you can do. None of the challenges are so difficult that they require special skills. The challenges really help you grow as a person and learn more about yourself. I think my favorite part was writing a mantra of self-love to read every morning. Thank you to NetGalley for giving me a chance to read this.
I loved this book - and wanted more! I ended up buying my own copy because I wanted something I could keep going back to when I needed a refresher. The creativity and "play" was a great stress reliever and made me start to think and approach things differently.
The idea of this book is great, even though the actual challenges felt a little repetitive. Could be a great book for teenagers!
Loved this...a very sweet book that made me smile. The type of book I’d buy for a friend who is perhaps recovering from a hard time and just needs a reminder that she is awesome.
A bit of fun, a few minutes daily focus. Part self help book, part work book with doodling and colouring.
I think my own particular brand of awesome might be more deep rooted than this book allows for however.
I love, love, love this book!!!
We get so caught up in our stresses of everyday life that we often don't take time to play. The author reminds us of the importance of playtime and gives great ideas on how to create, color, doodle, write.....
I will buy this book for many who need the reminder.
This book was received by HCI Books in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.
The only thing I have to say about this book is that when it is released, I will be standing in line to buy it. EVERYONE needs a book like this, even if you do not like journaling. With COVID-19 still sweeping the nation, it is so important to stay healthy and positive mentally and this book will definitely help with that. With all the creative entries and fun doodles surrounding the book, it will sure catch some attention and readers can start improving their mind and find their awesome!
We will consider adding this book in our Self-Help collection at our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.
It's not good. It's an activity journal that just lists activities by day. The art is pretty simple. I didn't find it helpful. It seemed to simple and optimistic.
A cute journal to guide you through a 30 day process. Can help with your creativity as well as finding and loving yourself.
This book would make a great gift for someone you love or for yourself. It is a journal meant to be written, doodled, and colored in. The daily ideas range from silly to serious and all will help to lift your mood.
#FindYourAwesome i admit i am not often one for self help books. I was first attracted to the cover. I read the description and decided to give the thirty day program to help build an acceptance of my body and creative self. There are thirty daily activities designed to help you connect with your inner self. It is thru the self acceptance that one helps build the relationships around them.
My favorite activity was the designing of a motto t-shirt. I liked the fact that you are not locked into doing only one activity a day if you are so inclined. You can do them however they work best for you. I did try and stay with the thirty day plan but admit I did several activities toward the end and finishes several days ahead of schedule.
It is a good book even if you want to jump start your creativity. The examples given by the authors own projects added to the overall enjoyment for me.
This is such a fun creative journal. There are 30 days of prompts to encourage self-love, reflection, and gratitude. The tone of the book is informal and positive. The exercises are completely doable and will make you feel good while doing them. Reach out to a friend, be kind to yourself, have fun and be creative! I enjoyed this a lot.
Loved this. The drawings are so cute and I got lots of ideas of creative things I want to do. Fun book.
As many of us do, I struggle with self worth. I found this daily journey easy to follow and effective. Making meaningful change is hard, but "Find Your Awesome" really helped me see that I am awesome!!
Find Your Awesome is an inspiring and creative book that will guide you on your own journey of self-discovery and self-love. The book consists of prompts or tasks for you to ponder and write about or actually do. While it sells itself as a 30-day journey, you can take more or less time if you like. Some of these tasks include: write a message of love, create a not-to-do list, reframe a task that you dread, draw a mandala, do the unexpected, doodle, write yourself a love letter, declutter, and take a digital hiatus.
The drawings throughout this book are fun, cheerful and cute. Judy Clement Wall is a writer but also an illustrator by trade and it shows.
To best summarize what this book is all about, here is a fitting quote from it: “Engaging creatively is like a full-body workout for the soul.“ And that is what you will be doing for the next 30 days once you have this book!
This is a great start to those beginning the journey of self-care and self-love. Each exercise is simple, and not too mentally or emotionally in-depth, but will make a great impact on your life. The perfect book for someone feeling a little lost or needing a confidence boost.
Cool idea, though workbooks like this tend to be a little difficult to actually follow through on. I think with a support network / accountability buddy, it could work well.
Cute and colorful book. It's a great self help book for teenage girls. This 30 day self love challenge is nice to help girls love themselves. The tasks are like "love your body", "be grateful", "take a break".
I received a free digital copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review
I received an e-copy of this book in exchange for a review.
As someone who finds journalling difficult, and is intrigued by the idea of creative journalling, I was interested in the idea of being led by the hand through some creative journalling prompts. The book clearly would be much better as a physical book rather than e-book as it is meant to be written in as a journal. It's very cartoon-y, the writing style is informal and it's basically providing the reader with ideas to spark creativity in journalling. You can do one thing a day, or take as long as you like. Or miss some things out altogether if they don't suit.
I would recommend this book if you are looking for ideas to start journalling.
My Thoughts
First, a Note
This review is long overdue on my blog. Every time I tried to sit down to write the review for it, I wanted to actually use more of the truly wonderful prompts before I reviewed it. But then today, I decided it is OK. I have read the book and worked on some of the prompts. And starting today, I will work on finding my awesome as I go from prompt one to prompt thirty.
The Review Continues
So, back to reviewing the book. I love, love, love this journal. While I do have the ebook (should have gotten the physical one instead is what I realize). Right now, I am doing the prompts on a regular old notebook using the prompts in my ebook.
While I am normally not a self-help book type of person, this book is full of fun, inspirational and creative prompts, and that totally resonates with me.
If you are looking for something deep, spiritual, or soul-searching, this might not work for you, though you could easily add more depth and meaning to any of the prompts here. And that is another cool thing -you can adapt it to fit your style and your time table.
You can do the prompts anyway you want to – do many a day, do one over many days, do one or more or all of them everyday, do one a day for 30 days – what matters is discovering your awesomeness in the process. And this journal does help with that. Do these prompts with family and friends, so everyone can benefit!
It makes you smile and takes you from being your worst critic to being your best cheerleader.
I do love that this book simply focuses on practical things we can do, like sending a text message to someone, writing a list of songs-to-dance-to, drawing a mandala, making something, decluttering, and more.
And yes, before I forget, the art is adorable, beautiful, colorful and darling!
In Summary
Between artsy (don’t worry if you think you are not) prompts, list-making, discovering yourself , and thinking about others, this journal takes you on a awesomeness journey without you realizing it!
So, worth it – either for yourself or as a gift for that someone who you know will enjoy books like this.
On a side-note, I discovered Judy Clement Wall’s blog today (why did it take me so long?) and it is a delight to look at.
Disclaimer: Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for the original eARC of the book; these are my honest opinions after reading the book. (I now have my own ebook!)
