Sweet romance with all the feels…

I really enjoyed this small town, sweet, almost gentle romance. It wasn’t all hearts and flowers though with intense family drama and big city danger in the mix as well. Put it all together with good writing and (of course) cowboys and you have Ally and Reed’s love story…

Ally, and her son Kyle, were starting over and hoping to find roots in the small town of Glacier Ridge. She wanted to reconnect with family and find peace and safety. What she didn’t expect was Kyle, an old-fashioned, salt of the earth cowboy to take more than a passing interest. Instead, it was a courtship that included a bromance with her son (so adorable) and ‘swept off her feet’ protectiveness (be still my heart). All of it came together to pluck my heart throughout…

I walked in at the tail end of a mystery but Reed and Ally, and of course Kyle, have whetted my appetite for everything that came before…

I love a good Romantic Cowboy story every once in a while. So when I saw ‘Reed’ at Netgalley last year, I requested to read this one immediately. But life got in the way, and somehow I lost track of this book. But since I’m cleaning out my Netgalley list, it was time to read this book. Although ‘Reed’ is the third book in the Malloys of Montana series, it can be read as a standalone.

In ‘Reed’ we meet Ally Shaw and Reed Malloy. Ally is a young mom of a boy of four, and she just moved her whole life to Glacier Ridge, Montana to get a shot at a new life. Ally starts her own shop, and before she knows it.. the store is a big success. And when Ally meets the handsome cowboy Reed, who seems to want to help her get settled in her new life. Everything seems to be going great. And soon the chemistry between Ally and Reed is getting more and more intense. But Ally isn’t good in trusting people. And Reed has to work hard to get the woman he wants.

‘Reed’ is a nice and easy to follow romance read. The word sweet definitely comes to my mind when I think of this book. I loved all those characters from the town of Glacier Ridge, it definitely had this small-town feel about it and that is something I definitely enjoyed. There were several moments in this book were we met the Malloy family, and I also just loved that family. They were big, and noisy and they just seemed like a great family.

The romance between Reed and Ally was not really what I expected. I didn’t really feel their chemistry, and I found Reed to be a little to ‘to-the-point’. But Ally, was a fun character and the Malloy family was really nice, so that definitely made up for the not-feeling-the-chemistry- part.

I also found this book a little too predictable for my taste. But it was a fun read that really made for a fun afternoon read.

REED is the third and final book in the Malloys of Montana Series by RC Ryan. It's a sweet story. Ryan doesn't use harsh words to describe things. Enjoyed this book and now I have to read the others before it. I'm not usually one to read a third before the rest, but I didn't see that it was a series before picking it up. However great book and fantastic job.

This is the first book that I have read from R.C. Ryan and also the first I have read in the Malloy series. Having never read any of R.C.'s books in the past I was not sure what her style of writing was going to be like and how it would work with me starting by reading book three.

In regards to writing style I found that R.C.'s was a mix of romance and suspense. She had the love story that I enjoy but also had the suspense that has you on the edge of your seat wanting to know what happens next. I think having these two styles in the book helped keep you hooked as reader because you want to know how the book would end.

As for jumping in to this series on the third book instead of with the first one it didn't hurt at all. R.C. does a good job having them connect a little but also make them stand alone so it doesn't matter what book you start reading in the series. I definitely do want to go back and read the first two now that i have read about the first two brothers.

I think that R.C. did a great job developing the main characters in this book, Ally and Reed. There was enough back story on them to understand how they ticked but not overboard where it didn't make sense. I found it very interesting to see the character development through the book of Ally's uncle as well. At first he seems like a cranky old man, but deep down there was more to him that later comes out.

My favorite part of the book how ever wasn't the romance or the suspense. It was the connection that Reed and Kyle had. It was awesome to see how Reed was able to connect with Ally's son and help him come out of his shell. I enjoyed R.C. showing that it is not only important to connect with the mother/father in a relationship but also their children as it can define whether or not the relationship will last.

I read a lot. Ridiculous numbers of books in a week, a month, a year. So when one sticks in my brain and my heart, it’s usually a more than 5 star book to me. Reed is exactly that—a 5 plus star book. I’ve loved EVERY moment I’ve spent with the Malloy family and I’ve been dying to read Reed’s story, he’s the youngest Malloy and by far the most mysterious of the brood.

Reed is the Malloy who’s put his heart and soul into the land—he’s working his own herd, one that could put them on the map for organic beef. He’s focused, driven to the point that nothing else has mattered, nothing has moved ahead of the importance of bringing in the herd to Reed, until he meets a tiny, cape wearing Kyle Shaw and his mother, Ally.

Ally’s looking to start a new life. She’s sold everything and uprooted four year old Kyle to move to Glacier Ridge, Montana. Wanting to reconnect with her only living relative, Ally’s determined to make a new life, a better life for herself and Kyle.

There are big things afoot for Reed and Ally. Big things like true love, family and a future. And thousands of adorable cowboy-little boy interactions that make every woman’s ovaries explode. Reed and Ally just need to get past, well, the past in order to have a fresh start at their future.

Seriously, I’m still swooning over this exquisite book, all right and crying some too since it’s the last one in the series. I loved ALL of Reed and Kyle’s interactions. Loved Reed’s dedication to his herd, his family and to Ally. Loved Ally and her fierce protection of Kyle and her business. Loved all of the Malloys and their extended family members. I’m so sad to see this series end—I am hoping for one more book to give us more of Colin and Anita. Don’t mind me, I’m just going to sit here and swoon for just a little bit longer.

Sweet love story for Ally and Reed, Ally is a single parent, and when she least expects it, she falls in love. Reed has grown up with his grandparents along with his brothers, after his parent died. You read about the the relationship with his brothers, grandparents and friends, he is a sweet guy..

I started out liking the story and the characters, but the more I read I decided I didn't really care for Reed. It seemed like every time they were together he was almost pressuring her into having sex with him. I think it came up in every single conversation they had. I liked the little boy; he was adorable.

Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

Ally Shaw is trying to start a new life in Montana. She's got a plan but her plan doesn't seem to be going the way she intended. Then she runs into Reed Malloy. Reed falls in loves with Ally's little boy first and pretty quickly Ally. Reed is the Malloy that loved the land the most. Raising organic beef cattle was his dream and he's about to finally achieve his goal. He's never had his head turned by a women before. Until he meets Ally. It was fun to watch Ally and Reed fall in love. Ally had a rough life and this is her chance to make it better for herself and her son. She's stubborn and tough which are great traits and letting Reed in isn't easy. Trying to reconnect with her uncle doesn't go so well and then she finds herself the victim of a stalker from the life she just left behind. There's just enough suspense in this story to keep in interesting without taking over. During this three book series there was a common thread into the mystery of what happened to the Malloy boys parents all those years ago. That gets wrapped up as well but it's not that big of a surprise on who it is but the wrap up is pretty exciting. Another great story from R.C. Ryan!

A handsome cowboy, a single mom with a cute son, and a villain on the loose sets the stage for an epic romance in the Old West. Well, modern day Montana at any rate.

Reed is the youngest of the Malloy sons that his grandparents stepped in to raise after their parents were killed in a car accident. Learning to live the without his parents, Reed often retreated to the hills, always striving to find something that was irrevocably lost. Twenty years later, he's certain that he's on the verge of achieving something that his entire family can be proud of: his herd of naturally raised steers that will sell for big bucks to some of the most famous and elite restaurants in Europe.

Ally Shaw has just moved here from West Virginia with her four-year-old son, Kyle. After Kyle's father died while deployed, Ally wanted to reconnect with family and that meant moving to Montana to be near her only surviving relative: Deputy Archer Stone. Except that her uncle isn’t happy to see her, isn't thrilled that she has a son, and doesn't particularly seem to like anyone or anything except a bottle of whiskey.

Reed and Ally's paths cross and a spark ignites. Determined to keep things light, Ally pushes Reed away only to have him at her side whenever a crisis strikes. Leaning on someone is hard for her after being raised by a single mother, but seeing Kyle interact with Reed and his family makes her want to take a chance.

I loved reading about the Malloys and I hope that we get a peek into the romance of Colin and Anita.

4.5 stars of family love and cowboy hotness

This is the third in the series, and I love the Malloy family more and more.

Reed is the youngest of the three brothers who were orphaned at a young age and brought up by their grandparents. He has spent his whole life concentrating on work to ease the pain, and finally his organic cattle project is paying off. Both his brothers are now married, but he shows no interest in a settled future. Then a mini superhero runs out into the road, Reed stops him being run over, and the rest is history. Ally and her son are new to town, but getting a proper welcome from the locals who love her new shop.

The romance between the two is very slow burn, as she has no desire to get hurt again. But the Malloy family act as a unit and Ally and her son, Kyle, are being swept into their arms due to her stalker. Things take some pretty interesting twists, but as we can be guaranteed a proper happy ending, it is just a matter of everyone getting on the same page!

This is just such a well written, enjoyable story, which cannot fail to please. Thank you again Ms. Ryan.

Sweet and simple western romance. Reed was the kind of man every woman is looking for, and Ally and her son were an interesting match for him.

Ally moves to Montana with your young son to start fresh and in hopes to connect with the only family member left. When she arrives she is faced with more then she expected and when someone from the past seems to have it out for her she starts to realize maybe she will need to lean on someone. Reed has spent his whole life trying to make his family that much bigger and that much better after loosing his parents he's set on making things the way his told his dad at 9 he wanted. But when he goes into the small town to pick up supplies he discovers a new shop owner he seems drawn to her but he can't put a finger on why. When things in her life start to go crazy he knows he needs to step in an help some how. The past has a way of catching up with you when you least expect it. Can they let go of the past and work towards a future that is good or will it all be over shadowed by one mans past that seems unforgivable.

I have fallen in love with this family and this series I hope there is more to come (at least Colin's story). I have really super enjoyed how no matter what they face they come together as a family. I also love Glacier Ridge and the super fun characters that live there, they add some much to the storyline. This book will have you laughing, crying and on the edge of your seat with excitement just to see what happens next. You really can not go wrong with this fun an amazing read. This is some adult scenes but over all the love story here is just one thats amazing.

Reed is like a cinematic buffet. Ms. Ryan provides imagery, heart pounding action and emotion that is as complicated as the story itself. Heartbreak and a dangerously painful past, lead Ally to the rugged terrain and beautiful landscape of Montana. Beautiful scenery and family connections aren't all that Glacier Ridge has to offer a girl with a wounded soul. How about a pair of strong arms as a safe haven? Will she trust her heart to show her the way or allow fear to destroy a chance at forever? The Malloys are an edgy family with strength of character and a family bond that helps them overcome life's darkest moments. There are no victims, only survivors. The legacy of Reed and the entire Malloy family is that united they can conquer whatever comes their way. That's the definition of family.

Reed Malloy's story is book 3 in the Malloys of Montana series. These stories take place in a small town call Glacier Ridge. It's such a quaint little town where everyone knows everyone and where everyone knows everything...or do they? The way the author has the setting of Glacial Ridge, it's a town I'd love to call home if it existed!!

Reed is in town one day when a small child with a cape on darts out in the street and Reed snatches him up before he gets hit be a vehicle! He's ready to chew out the irresponsible person that left him on his own and then he sees her........Ally. All thoughts vanish from his mind and he's focused on how beautiful she is and then he quickly remembers what just happened.

Ally has left the city in Virginia to make a fresh start in Montana. Since she only has her uncle she can call family, it's important to her that Kyle, her son, know his family. However, family member Archer isn't so glad to have her. He's very mean to her and Kyle and eventually the reader finds out why he's so mean. She's opened a story called Ally's Attic and while getting ready for opening day Kyle disappears. She runs outside and there he is in the arms of a hot cowboy, who looked very upset with her! Uh oh!

A sweet, emotional and suspenseful story! This could be read as a stand alone, but once you read about Reed's other hot brothers, you'll want to read each story! Reed was such a great man, very focused and also very true to his family. Ally was very strong and also very focused in her goal to make it work in this town. They both were so perfect for each other, but each thought they weren't any good for the other one. Can they meet in the middle and just let love.....just be love?

Part of a series and the man, Reed is a strong rancher who has devoted his life trying to raise drug free cattle. This has been his focus... until he rescues a young little boy who ran out into traffic. Ready to read the mom the riot act... he is stopped in his righteous tracks when he sees her concern and is drawn to her.
Both are people who are ready to find love.

Ally Shaw moved to Montana to start a new life for herself and her young son also hoping to connect with the one remaining family member she has. But meeting Reed Malloy changes everything.

Reed has plans of succeeding with his ideas of raising cattle. But meeting Ally and her adorable son Kyle has him thinking of other things.

The Malloys are a close knit family that are always there for each. The unresolved issues surrounding the death of two family members will finally be put to rest when the painful truth is revealed.

Meh. Parts of this books felt really dated. The story was told more than shown and the author head-hopped from character to character in the same scene. It got confusing.

Love was such a fickle mistress. She could come creeping up when it was least expected.
And wasn’t that both terrible and wonderful at the same time?

You hear that? That's the sound of me blowing my nose and wiping away at my soggy cheeks.

Yep, Reed, the third book in the Malloys of Montana series, made me cry because this family… these Malloys… are just wonderful.

This series is so heartfelt, brimming with emotion and love and old-fashioned cowboy charm. I've enjoyed each installment—including the quick but lovely Christmas novella—and this family is the reason why. Yes, the individual characters are excellent (I'll get back to how much I enjoyed Reed, Ally and Kyle shortly), but the charm in this book and series lies within the fences of the Malloy Ranch.

They'll make you smile. Laugh. Ache. Cry. Love. They're a tight unit that is better together, and has all the magical qualities that a fictional family can have—wealth, true love, looks, intelligence… I could go on. It should be unbelievable, and yet, I completely bought into it. Because it is, like I said, so heartfelt. So genuine. So easy and enjoyable to read.

Love, it would seem, was alive and well in the Malloy household. It was almost enough to make her a believer.
Almost.

I honestly couldn't wait to read Reed. Not just because I wanted another delicious Montana man to add to my herd, but because I wanted answers. The overarching mystery of this series has had me guessing at secrets since Matt, and R.C. Ryan rewards her readers with answers here. And also with a sweet, sexy, slow burn romance…

Ah, Reed and Ally, along with little Kyle gripped my heart in vice. I loved Ally’s will, Reed’s compassion and Kyle’s owlish glasses and adorable four-year-old appeal. I loved, too, the push/pull of this relationship—the way Reed tested but ultimately respected Ally’s boundaries, the way they complemented each other—and the ovary-exploding connection Reed shared with his “little buddy”, Kyle. (Side note: Hot cowboys and little kids = must read.)

With Ms. Ryan’s signature suspense built in, there was tension enough to grab and hold my interest until the very last page, and though I was *slightly* irked by an ending that played out in a familiar way, it worked like a charm to bring the story, and this series, full circle.

Honestly, at this point, I'm not sure if my tears were from the strong sense of family, the fact I'm a complete sap for a happily ever after, or the thought of this series coming to an end. I'm holding out hope for one more book, because Colin and Anita deserve more… and because I'm not yet ready to say goodbye.

“I’m going to try to walk away, Red. If I make it to the door, I’m not turning around to look at you, or I’ll never be able to go.”

~ 4.5 Red STARS ~
