Oh Marco, you are such a good man with a trying past. While you want love, you aren't actively looking for it, nor are you out man whoring it up. (That's for Cade to do.) Your SEAL brothers love you, then so does that feisty girl Carrie.

Carrie is a model (while I couldn't quite picture her in my mind) but an insecure one when she is outside of a photo shoot. Never letting people see her beyond her looks, she lets Marco into her inner thoughts while they plan their friends engagement party.

While they both open up to each other about their pasts, their insecurities etc, neither feel comfortable letting the other know that they want more than just a few months romp.

The title Hot Shot comes not just from the hot guys in the book but in the bar the three former Navy Seals own. The bar specializes in a wide variety and high end Tequila. Marco and Carrie hate each other but their best friends are getting married so they have to work together on a surprise party for their engagement.
Marco comes from a hard background and doesn't believe he's worth being loved. Everybody he has ever loved left him so he figures there must be something wrong with him.
Carrie comes from a good background but she feels like she's the black sheep of the family. Her parents and siblings are workaholics. They make money and are successful. Carrie is a model which her family doesn't approve of. She wants to be a photographer so she plans on going to Spain for nine months to a special school. But honestly she's going through life without direction.
As Marco and Carrie continue to work together they realize there is an attraction between them. But each thinks they are imaging the sexual tension. Neither feels like anybody could love them so how could Marco be attracted to Carrie and vice versa. Eventually they hook up but they have an agreement that it's just a fling because Carrie is leaving in two months.
During the Marco/Carrie storyline we also get to meet the other Navy Seals that co-own the bar. They think of each other as brothers and it's fun to be a part of their family. And of course we have the wedding storyline which adds a nice dimension to the story.
Despite Carrie having misgivings about going to Spain she boards the plane with a heavy heart.
She had fallen for Marco but she knew he didn't feel the same.
Will these two misfits figure things out? Will Marco wait for Carrie?
This book can be read as a stand alone but I'm guessing each Seal has his own story.
It has steamy sex and a HEA.
I voluntarily reviewed this book for the author.

Hot Shot by Kelly Jamieson was a great story. Beck, Marco and Cade are best friends and former Navy Seals who are the owners of Conquistadors Tequila Bar. Carrie's best friend Hayden is getting married to Beck. Marco, one of Beck's best buds wants to throw them a surprise engagement party at the bar and wants to enlist Carrie's help. He has always been attracted to Carrie but feels he doesn't stand a chance with her, which makes him moody whenever he is around her. Carrie is easily annoyed by Marco because of his moodiness, but stays civil for Hayden's sake. She is shocked when he asks her to help him plan the party. Imagine her surprise when she realizes that all is not what is seems. Her opinion of Marco changes slowly as they plan the surprise party and actually get to know each other in the process. These two characters have great chemistry, but is it enough to overcome their own insecurities, or are they destined to stay civil to each other for the sake of their friends.

The interactions of Marco and Carrie as they get to know each other is fun, sexy and heartwarming. Kelly Jamieson does a fabulous job developing their characters making this a wonderful story. I highly recommend this book.

I am becoming a HUGe Kelly Jamieson fan! I can not get enough of her books!

When I picked up Hot Shot, I didn;t even realize it was book 2 of the Last Shot series. I LOVED book one, so I was super happy to read book 2. This book did not disappoint!

Marco Solis and Carrie Garner were just getting started in book one, and now this is their story, and what a story it was. Marco has had enough bad things happen to him to last 2 lifetimes. But here he is, ex Navy seal, making a go at owning a bar with his 2 best friends (also ex Seals). Carrie is a hot model coming to the end of her career and finding herself all over again. Becoming a photographer is her dream. Now she is leaving for Madrid in a few short weeks to attend school there.

The problem is, Marco and Carrie have been fighting their attraction for too long. Now they have come up with a solution. They will have an affair until Carrie leaves, no strings, just fun. But what happens when the 2 of them realize they have more in common they they originally thought? It seemed like a good plan, until they start falling for each other...

I loved this book and can not wait for book 3 in this series!

What a fantastic book! The back and forth between Carrie and Marco was so full of sexual tension and self doubt it as so good so read how they worked through everything and still ended with up together. The ending is so sweet and just perfect for them. Best part of the book when Marco was standing behind the bar and his ex walked in and Carrie didn't seem to hesitate to lay claim to her man! It was a bold statement and it was just perfect!

Marco and Carrie are brought together by friends; their best friends are getting married. It’s not all hearts and flowers with Marco and Carrie though, as they start out not liking each other, but as they get to know one another, they each start to realize they have each other pegged wrong. Both fighting their own insecurities, Marco and Carrie also fight the undeniable connection between them. But how long can they go without admitting to their attraction?

I was really drawn to Marco. I thought the writing of his character was done with a lot of feeling and really made you feel for him, understand him, and you wanted more for him. It took me longer to warm up to Carrie. She came across so rude and hurtful. I was glad we got to see why, but I felt she kept blaming Marco for what was going on between them when she was the one who was constantly making comments and pushing him away.

I enjoyed getting to know Marcos and Carrie and learning about why they have the self-doubt that they each have. I love how they both help each other see the good in each other and what they each have to offer. It’s beautiful to watch them both open up and learn to trust.

With the sincerity also comes fun wit, I found myself laughing out loud at times. The supporting characters are all enjoyable and I can’t wait to get Cade’s story.

What a hot, sweet love story between Marco and Carrie. It was well written and heartwarming. Makes me want to read more of Kelly Jamieson's books.

Hot Shot by Kelly Jamieson is a great addition to her Last Shot series. Marcos and Carrie have been spending more time together since their best friends are engaged to each other. Marco and Carrie both have insecurities. Carrie, that she is not good enough for her family and Marcos, that he is not worthy of love or a family since everyone leaves him. The more time Marcos and Carrie spend together the more chemistry they discover. Hot Shot was an excellent read, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I cannot wait until Cade's story!

"If your first kiss could be described as candy, what would it be: Starburst, Milky Way, Snickers, Zero, or Goobers?" Carrie and Marco are planning an engagement party for their friends and this is the first time that Carrie has looked at former Navy Seal Marco without feeling that he was making fun of her. Carrie doesn't much appreciate Marco's attitude and she is darn sure that he doesn't like her a bit, calling her "Supermodel" in his disparaging tone. Or so she believes. Unfortunately for them, Marco's best friend and business partner, is engaged to Carrie's best friend since middle school so they will likely be seeing lots of each other. When Marco tells Carrie that she has a very fine derriere, she thinks he is making fun of her, or that he just sees her body but doesn't really see 'her'. Oh hell no, he is entirely serious. He sees her and he wants to make her "see not just stars, but galaxies, and beg him for more". The thought of being with her is inflammatory sending a fireball through his gut and this was before they even got together.
Carrie is planning a career change and there is no time for a relationship. She is fed up with being treated as simply a body or a face. Carrie hasn't forgotten her middle school days when she was the too tall, funny looking skinny girl with braces. That is who she still sees when she thinks about herself sometimes. Carrie is also the odd woman out in her family of Type A, serious-minded high achievers. She wants very much to do something important. To be important. The funny thing about Marco is that somehow she does feel a connection him. Carrie is empathetic and sees sadness under Marco's joking and flirting. The attraction is absolutely mutual once they are a little more honest but it can only be a fling. Marco doesn't 'do' relatioships but a sexy fling with Carrie, this super hot model, is just the tonic he needs. That is all it can be because Carrie is going to photography school in Spain so that she can make her family proud. Their mutual desire leads to smoking hot encounters until Marco's business partners notice that he must be "occupying Vagistan". OK that cracked me up. I'll admit it. This author drives me crazy...crazy good. She creates wonderful characters for the reader to love. There is no choice but to read on because one thing is certain. This author will absolutely deliver an HEA ending. It's a sure thing.

Marco and Carrie were so perfect for each other, even when they weren't acting like it. I enjoyed their story and how they helped each other become better versions of themselves.

Loved this book! Marco is a former SEAL who co-owns a tequila bar along with two of his SEAL buddies. Carrie is a premier model who only feels attractive when people do her hair and make up - otherwise she feels unworthy. Marco also feels unworthy, but for very different reasons. They are thrown together frequently since their friends are engaged and she is maid of honor to his best man.

There is a wild attraction between them that you can practically feel sizzling off the pages. They agree to enjoy a "romp" without a relationship....however, what happens when they each develop real feelings for the other?

What follows is a sexy romance that fans of the genre will love. The author is on my must read authors' list and should probably be on yours as well. Move this one to the top of your TBR.

This book totaly rocked!!! I LOVE Carrie and Marco and them together was absolutely terrific. I loved that they really built a friendship before they got together. This book was really HOT!! but not until about 50% as they really get to know each other and like each other first.

Things I really loved about this story:
I loved Carrie's family and I loved how she helps her niece Julia out. I also loved how welcoming they are with Marco. No family is perfect and I loved that the author really showed that.

I loved getting to see Hayden and Beck marry and I loved Marco playing around on the wedding.com website.

This story is about a tequila bar which three e-seals own. Beck and Marco and Cade.
Beck is engaged to Hayden whose best friend is Carrie
Cade is the manslut
Marco is a hot latino man, not a manslut but also one who doesn't believe in relationships. He believes everyone will leave him. He also grew up like an orphan.

Marco has a thing for Carrie and Carrie feels the same. But they each feel the other is too good for the other and so they act all hate like to each other. But with their friends engage they start planning a party and thats how they start breaking down the walls and become friends.

I absolutely LOVED this story. Only two things I didn't like.
1. The cover of the book is beautiful but I felt that it did not depict Marco well. He is described as having dark skin, latino and the guy in the picture totally looks caucasian with no hint of latino in him.

2. I wanted him to find his sister.

I actually think I liked this book better than book 1.
