Thanks to Netgalley and Xpresso Book Tours for giving me this book to review.

Frost is a very enjoyable paranormal novel which is fast paced. It is set in the same world as the midnight fire series, I have not read them yet but it did not impact the story or my enjoyment of it. However, what stopped this book from getting a higher rating was that the story was predictable and not all that original.

Pandora is sassy and independent but is also hurting and is running from her past and while she is a thief, she is ultimately battling wrongs. Jax has good banter with Pandora and is protective but he is suffering from guilt. Sam is very mysterious and I felt I did not get to know him very well but I guess we will discover more in the next book.

This book ends on a cliff-hanger and I am looking forward to reading the next book Freeze. I would recommend Frost to fans of YA paranormal books.

*I received this book through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review*

This book and I didn't start out well, but I think we ended on decent terms.

Let me say, that I have not read the Midnight Fire series, so I was coming into this as a new reader. Knowing who some of the crossover characters were though, if you have read the previous series, I think you'll get a kick out of this one.

Frost and I were kinda doing okay-- I enjoyed the new aspects such as titans, and vampires being killed either by a conduit or decapitation by another vampire's sharp parts. Then we find out Pandora is still moping about over "her best friend. Her only love" who betrayed her.... 4 years ago. I swear, I was almost lost. I seriously sat back in my chair, played mobile games for a few minutes, before I even considered coming back. I'm really starting to dislike this trope.

The rest of it was interesting enough to keep me going--sometimes wordy in Pandora's head which wasn't really needed. I liked Jax and some of the supporting characters, although I was never truly convinced that Pandora was a good thief, but she was okay too.
The thing is, I never thought there was a climax to the story-- no turning point, unless we are counting the very end of the book which turns into a cliff hanger. I will accept that... although I feel as confused from the beginning of the book as I am the end. And considering we all know how YA novels go, I just don't know how Jax and Pandora will end up together.

Will I read the sequel... *sigh* probably not. But I may read spoiler filled reviews because I do want to know what happens, I just don't want to read anymore of the series.

Not doing a full review on my blog for this one but it was a quick, enjoyable read with good pacing. Well edited for a self pub too which is always nice.

3.5/5

Thank you to NetGalley and Kaitlyn Davis for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for review! All opinions are my own.

I read Withering Rose by Kaitlyn Davis (also have Gathering Frost to read so keep an eye out for my review on that!) and absolutely loved her writing style and knew that anything else she released, I wanted to read. So when I saw Frost, I jumped at the opportunity to read it! I just love the way that she creates and expands upon her worlds and her characters are so easy to read about and fall in love with. Frost is no exception and I am so incredibly eager for the sequel!

Plot:
Pandora is a vampire thief on the run. Four years ago, she ran away from her Titan life after being betrayed. She's stolen from some pretty powerful vampires and is constantly running from them. And now? Her annoying ex-boyfriend is chasing her, trying to get her to come home, so she's running from him, too. She spends a large majority of this book trying to outrun her past, basically, but it was quite an adventure! When she's not stealing from other vamps, she's sneaking in and saving people that said vamps are keeping in their dungeons. Pandora felt like such a rebel and I loved how different she was from my original assumption. The titan aspect was interesting and I definitely want to learn more about them in the next book as I didn't feel like we got enough of them in Frost. We did get a bit of backstory on why Pandora ran away and became a vampire, but there was a big piece of information introduced right at the end that left me with a ton of questions! There was a lot going on throughout the book and with the exception of the portion of the book where Pandora was with Jax, it moved fairly quickly. I really enjoyed the parts where Pandora was doing her invisible thief thing because she just seemed so comfortable doing it, even when encountering things she wasn't expecting, such as conduits and a head vamp from her past. There were characters from another series that showed up at a few points which, while you don't exactly have to have read the other series to read Frost, there is a small spoiler regarding the other characters and their story and I was kind of bummed to have that series slightly spoiled for me. But don't let that deter you from reading this book because it's definitely worth a read! It's very entertaining and gives you time to really build up a sort of relationship with Pandora so you can connect with her and understand what she's going through, which is something I really enjoyed. You get to see Pandora in action, get some backstory on her past with Jax and the Titans, and get a cliffhanger ending that will definitely leave you wanting more!

Characters:
Pandora was a fantastic main character! She was strong, independent, level-headed, and so incredibly sassy. She was also unlike other vampires she encounters over the course of the book and I liked that she stood out so much. There was an element of sadness with her character, likely from her past with the Titan compound, her father, and Jax, but there was also a large element of strength that she constantly exuded. Not necessarily physical strength, but more so emotional and mental strength. Pandora struggled with her past, but she never let herself fall because of it, even when she found out the truth about why she left. It was just refreshing to read about a strong female character that rose above her struggles and made herself a better person. I loved that she used her invisibility to help those that were being held in dungeons by the higher-up vampires. I felt like it added a level of emotion and feeling that none of the other vampires in this book showed and it really made her stand out, as I mentioned above. Pandora was just wonderful, and I really can't wait to read more about her in the sequel! As for Jax, he was definitely my least favorite. I understood his motivation behind wanting to get Pandora back, but I never really found myself liking him. He would show up at the worst times and get Pandora into more trouble, he constantly brought up going back with him when he knew that she had zero interest in going home, and he even tried to force her to get the cure for vampirism which is another thing she didn't want to do. He tried to be charming, but I saw through all of his crap like he was transparent. Also, he betrays her again at the end of the book, so Jax is pretty much a no-go for me. Sam was a character that I really wanted more of, because there wasn't enough of him for me to properly form an opinion on him. I liked the short parts where he was in the book, and his story about how he knows Pandora and his involvement with "that night" definitely had me curious about him, so I really hope he shows up in the next book.

Writing:
As I stated above, the book does slow down a bit once Jax and Pandora are together, but other than that it flows pretty well. I loved the way Pandora was written, obviously, and the overall feeling that I got from this book was dark and mysterious. The way that you're slowly given bits of information about Pandora's past and how her invisibility was so unique among the Titans was really enjoyable. I appreciated the slow-ish build up and that it wasn't all thrown at the reader all at once. You really are given an opportunity to connect with Pandora on a much deeper level and I appreciated that the author took the time to allow the reader to connect with her on more than just the surface. The slow delivery of Pandora's history allows you to understand why she left, why she does the things she does, and I just found myself loving her more and more as I continued to read. The writing itself was very well-done! I loved the action scenes and the parts where Pandora was describing going invisible were really beautiful and creepy, but in a good way. Frost was very easy to read and by the time I was finished I was already looking up information on the sequel!

Once again, Kaitlyn Davis has written a book that I've absolutely devoured. She's a fantastic writer and I really enjoy everything I read by her! Frost is a great beginning to a new paranormal series that has vampires, a group of people with unique powers (Titans), mystery, betrayal, and an ending that left me dancing. If you're looking for an enjoyable, easy to read, new paranormal series, then Frost is definitely for you!

As I began the book I though I knew what was going to happen... 'boy and girl save the world with a small amount of heartache along the way'... and wow, I could not have been more wrong.
The main character, Pandora has ran away from her home with the titans to become a Vampire in New York. During her transition from titan to vampire all her previous memories had been locked away and the only thing Parndora knew was that she was never going back to her previous life. That is until Jax and the mysterious Sam arrive in her life.
All the way though the book I found myself predicting where the story line would take me, and every single time I was very wrong. The twists and turns kept me hanging on every word, so much so I manged to finish the book in one sitting.
I cannot praise this book enough, it was not what I expected at all and I desperate to get my hands on the next book in the Midnight Ice series, there is so much more I need to know about Pandora; why do titans really want her back? who is Sam and where does he fit in to all of this? Will Jax come good?
A great 5 star read!

This book was a totally unique blend of titans, vampires, mystery and YA romance. I love all those things, and couldn’t stop flipping pages on this one until I reached the (somewhat cliffhanger-y) end. I guess this is a spinoff? I didn’t realize until I went to review, so it obviously didn’t matter much.

Pandora is on the run from her past. She doesn’t remember the exact thing that triggered her running (that was removed with her becoming a vampire) but she knows she can’t let the titans catch up to her. She’s making a pretty good living for herself as a sort-of robin hood, freeing vampire prisoners (and sometimes expensive things) from master vampires and donating the proceeds. Her powers make her a highly prized commodity – she can become invisible. This same power is also what made her an outcast among the titans. Most people shunned her, except for Jax.

Jax is also the titan that has been tasked with hunting her down. Pandora believes herself unfeeling until confronted with the face of the love of her life. These two struggle to figure out Pandora’s future, and how she will confront her past. There’s also a little mystery around who this random dude Pandora keeps seeing in her shadows is… The ending left me hanging, but the mystery will drive me to read more!

Frost is a Vampire book with a difference!
It was so nice to read a Vampire book with a unique twist.
I love Vampire books and this one in particular caught my eye. The cover is beautiful and extremely eye catching!

The 3 main Characters are Pandora who was once a Titan but now a Vampire Thief.
Jax who belongs to the Titans a group of trackers, hunters, bolters, and other groups tasked with capturing any misbehaving supernaturals. They are responsible for making sure the supernatural world remained totally secret and separate from the human realm.
Then Sam, who is a mysterious unknown force.

The story begins with Pandora and her journey as a Vampire Thief.
She is on the run from the Titans and many Powerful Vampires who she has stolen from for earnings.

Pandora is approached by another vamp and asked to steal a sword from a very powerful Vampire. She accepts!
Unbeknown to her it is a set up and things start to become a little sticky when she is captured.

It is here we get to meet Sam again.
Sam tries to help Pandora to become one with her unique powers.
We don't know who Sam is or why he stalks Pandora.
But we do know he is trying to help her escape.

Jax is Pandora's childhood best friend.
Before Jax became a Titan he made a promise to Pandora that he would refuse to become a Titan Tracker and run away with her.
However unfortunately this was not meant to be.

Four years later Jax has been tasked with finding Pandora and bringing her home to the Titans.

Jax rescues Pandora and so their eventful journey begins.

Pandora is so fierce and strong. She knew exactly what she wanted and even as a Vampire she tried to save others which isn't the "norm" for Vamps.

Jax and Pandora relationship is very temperamental. They know each other so well, a little too well at times!
There is a passionate chemistry brewing between the two of them and you can really feel the heat rise as the more time they spend together the more they sizzle. Which is becoming dangerous!

I loved Sam he was so mysterious and dark yet he had an undercurrent of power and masculinity and Danger.
Even towards the end I still don't know who Sam is!
I wonder if he is Pandora's alter ego!
But I can't wait for the next instalment to find out.

Kaitlyn's writing was so strong just what is needed when writing about vampires. I loved all the little twists.
Pandora's unique abilities are so different they are exciting.
I loved all the fresh supernatural characters the Titans and the Conduits they gave a different edge on the typical Vampire Hunter.
The idea of a cure for Vampirism is exciting.

Every page I was hooked it was fast paced, Exciting, Action packed, Fresh and current, Strong exciting Characters, all the little twists and turns.

I CAN'T wait for the next book.
It was left on a cliffhanger and I want more! I need answers!

Highly recommend this not just to fans of Vampire books but to anyone who likes fantasy and supernatural books.
A fantastic, Fresh read, something for everyone.

I would like to thank the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this great Book.

I used to read lots of paranormal romance, maybe that is the reason why I felt the plot was something I already had seen, as most of these kind of books fall on the same categories of hot girl/hot guy fell in love but for some thing or a other fell off but after some time they encounter each other again and sparks fly but there is also a third figure on the game. And the plot, there is also a plot. In this case, the fact that the girl is a vampire who can manipulate shadows to disappear and has been stealing artifacts from other vampires who want vengeance, and also a vampire who has been killed. And also the fact that the titans, the "group" she belonged to wants her back. And enter the ex who is the one sent to retrieve her. And Sam, the sexy vampire who plays the third one on the love triangle of sorts.

The book is some sort of spin off of a series, but you can read it without having read the series. For me it was another paranormal romance book, nothing new under the sun, and didn't make me care about the characters or the story.

I was kindly given a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

This book completely took me by surprise and reminded why I love the paranormal genre so very much. Get ready for a darkly entertaining vampire story that leaves you breathless and craving more with each turn off the page.

I have to admit, I really didn't have high hopes for this book. I thought to myself, it looks interesting enough, maybe I'll give it a shot. I find myself like many others, totally worn out on the whole Twilight vampire paranormal genre.

Surprisingly, this book was actually quite fantastic. The characters were very easy to fall in love with, the plot was fast and entertaining, and I couldn't put this book down! I found myself turning page after page well into the night, because I just had to find out what Pandora had to remember and what was going to happen next!

If you're like me, and are sick of your typical vampire paranormal book, then you need to pick this book up immediately! This book has it all: betrayal intrigue, fantastic paranormal characters and a knock you out of the park twisted plot.

‘Frost’ was a fun little novel, narrated by Pandora, a forever-15-year-old vampire thief. Though she reaches her 20th birthday when the book begins, I believe this book is best suited for younger readers, teenage readers.

This is a new series set in the familiar world of Kaitlyn Davis other series Midnight Fire but with new characters. Her setup is flawless and the suspense kept me on the edge of my seat, my only complaint is that the end is a cliff hanger and I can't wait for the next one.

I'm always skeptical of vampire stories, especially after twilight and the sparkle theory, but this book was a great read. Although, these vampires can go out in the sun...

Kaitlyn Davis has brought to life a wonderful mix of vampire lore and Greek mythology. Who would have thought a Titan would become a vampire? We follow Pandora as she takes a job to steal a sword from the leader of the New York Vampire clan. Of course, all hell breaks loos and the job is not what she thinks it is. An old boyfriend gets involved and as you can imagine, she falls for him again. There is also the ploy of a cure to vampirism.

The read was short. Took me one day to read. The only thing that I didn't like was that Pandora had super speed and super strength and invisibility and super senses. It was like she had every super power you could think of. It made me think that there was nothing that she couldn't do, so in turn, nothing that made me apprehensive.

I gave this read four stars out of five. It was entertaining, refreshing and full of action. I think vampire lovers will really like reading Frost by Kaitlyn Davis.

This was a very quick read. And although I liked the basic, story, and was interested in it, I was also frustrated by it. It was repetitive and some things that took place seemed to have no real purpose in furthering the plot. I know that this is the start of a series, but it feels like one book was chopped into several pieces and fleshed out to give it enough pages to call it a book on its own.
