This is a paper doll book and a story all rolled into one. The story was interesting, but I wouldn’t want to read it as a novel, and the paper dolls were amazing.

L. Delaney's All Dolled Up is both a historical primer and a craft book as the author starts her book with the wild adventures of sisters Reo and Lucille. Both sisters take to adventuring and along the way different paper doll outfits are shown illustrating what was worn by the sisters. At the end of the book you'll find directions on how to create the attire worn by the sisters.

You will find the following in All Dolled Up:

Introduction: The Magic in Old Clothes
The Story: The Old Armoire
Your Turn
Materials
Before You Begin
Paper Draping
How-To's
Design Your Own Paper Fashions

Dover did it again! This book should be subtitled "Paper Dolls With Panache." Here is a photographic feast for the eyes. Calling all fashionistas, doll makers (paper and every other kind), doll collectors, papercrafters, and mixed media artists--there's something here for you. Fanciful tales about the escapades and adventures of two doll characters accompany the gorgeous, detailed photographs and illustrations. Filled with patterns and user-friendly instructions, this gem of a book contains everything you'll need to know about creating beautiful outfits for paper dolls. Specific brand name crafts supplies are listed as suggestions but they don't have to be used. Look around your home or craft room for creative ways to use all sorts of ephemera, paints, and clothing scraps.
