i really liked this one, there was a strong thread of mystery and intrigue and just plain creepiness throughout that i really enjoyed, but i couldn't help but feel that something was missing. perhaps the story would have worked better as a short novel (maybe of 200-250 pages?) rather than a novella, as this would allow for more character development and backstory that could really benefit the plot.

3 1/2 Stars. I liked this short by Quinn. My only issue is once the story really got good, it ended. I would have loved to have seen this as a full length book, or at least have it continue with another short.
The story is about Hannah, who has been held prisoner in the Institute. At the age of 14, she was whisked from a doctors appointment, never to see her family or friends again. Now as an adult, she realizes there is something wrong with her. Something deep inside that would love her to unleash violence, but she keeps it contained. Her best friend and crush, Hannah, wants to escape the Institute. Day after day, Hannah plots a way for them to be free. Quinn, wants to do anything for Hannah, but she fears with the violence inside, maybe she is right where she should be.
This book has a zombie apocalyptic type feel, but the symptoms reminded me more of werewolves than a virus. The book kept me on my toes with excitement, and wanting to find out what is really going on. The book has an okay ending, but like I said before, it ends just when the story is really beginning. This short really just scratched the surface, and I hope Quinn will write more of this world, in the future.
An ARC was given to me by LT3P, for a honest review.
