I absolutely loved Finn and Rory’s story! Finn finally found the one person who made everything in his life fall into place. Watching him go from a player to falling head over heels for Rory was such a sweet transformation. He became completely smitten with her, and their chemistry was undeniable.
Despite the pressure of not having her family’s support, Rory found peace in following her heart and pursuing what she truly loved. Together, Finn and Rory’s journey was heartwarming and full of growth, making it an unforgettable love story.

Sawyer as always knows how to place us there in the story and keep us there on our tippy toes trying to see what happens next. This story was excellent, loved every part of it.
They decide to keep their relationship quiet so that Rory can focus on her job and Finn can keep his. Finn is so sweet, so caring, and so honest with his feelings for Rory. All he wants is her. She keeps bucking until she doesn't have a choice to face her own feelings.
The story was great, we got to see the brothers of Finn and a little of his funny sister Angela.
Hot firefighter alert! Of course I live near Boston so it felt like I was stepping right into the book driving into the to watch their story unfold. Rory was delightful and I love it!
Kelly Elliott’s second installment of the Boston Love series, Fighting for Love, is filled with such a range of emotions that I’m convinced that any author who can write such a captivating story that swings between laughter and tears so seamlessly is a genius. One moment I was laughing my head off, and just a few pages later I was in tears.
The characters Ms Elliott created are so real and authentic that I truly felt I was in their presence and a part of the moment. In my mind’s eye I could picture facial expressions, and the subtle nuances of each character’s moment in time...I came away feeling emotionally invested in the outcome of the story. Fin and Rory are such a dynamic couple that my heart hurt when theirs did, and sang with happiness when they experienced that emotion as well.
I can hardly wait for the next installment in the series, I’m only guessing, but hoping it’ll be Wes’ turn at finding his own HEA.
This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher and NetGalley. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.
5 Stars
Seriously Kelly Elliott you bring me up and you bring me down and I cannot deal. That book tore my heart and let me tell you, there were 2 scenes with the dad that had me on pins and needles. Rory is a person that works hard to never disappoint her parents. The only way to do that is becoming a lawyer and never dating a firefighter. Finn has been playing the field for years and he is tired of it. When he meets Rory, it's an undeniable connection but because of all the preconceived notion in Rory's life, their love is in jeopardy from the start. Rory taught me that the word "no" is probably my favorite word, and also, the most powerful. Can't wait for Wes' book.

I absolutely love everything that Kelly Elliott writes. Her books give you all the feels and keep you on the edge of your seat.
Finn and Rory's story was beautifully written. They had alot of ups and downs throughout their relationship but love always prevails.
I loved the connection between Rory and Finn. The secondary characters added lots of depth to the storyline. I can't wait to see what Kelly is working on next.
Who didn't love a sexy firefighter? Well Iin this book he really lives up to the title!! I enjoyed this story and feel good about the orchids for both Finn and Rory... despite the slow start for me and the story. Definitely a good read!!
Good Lord Kelly Elliott sure knows how to tease us and does she ever with Finn Ward. I love that this guy is a well known playboy but when he see’s Rory all bets are off. I loved that he has a girl who doesn’t fall easily to his charms making him work for it. The attraction they have is one that Rory hasn’t felt in a long time which in some ways scares her. Being with Finn makes her be impulsive and irresponsible something she has never done in her life. Work is all she knows and Finn shows her she can have so much more. Finn now is conflicted in a way because he wants Rory but there is a huge obstacle that will hurt him. Kelly Elliott not only shows us about Finn but we see Preston and Harmony again making this Boston Love series so fun to read about hot. Rory has no chance when it comes to this bad ass firefighter making me wish there was more of Finn. Cannot wait to see what else is next in the Boston Love series.
I loved this story. I found the hero, Finn and the heroine, Rory, delightful & charming.
The plot kept me captivated and the dialogue was entertaining & heartwarming. I found myself rooting for Finn and Rory as I get further into their story, and before I knew it I had reach the end of it.
I read this book in one night and ended it with a happy heart :)
Worth the Fight
This story grabbed my heart right from the beginning.
Finn is a firefighter and is considered a manwhore. Rory is a lawyer who has always played it safe under the direct guidance of her parents.
When Finn and Rory meet sparks fly, things tingle and it becomes HOT
This is my first Elliot book, and she did not disappoint! I loved Rory and Finn together. They were like "Perfection" but imperfect if that makes sense. Elliot did a beautiful with this novel and I highly recommend everyone pick up this book.
Loved!! This was such a sexy and swoony romance! I loved Rory and Finn!! They were so great together! Finn was absolute perfection! LOVED him!! The writing was exceptional and the story was beautiful! I highly recommend this book!
ONCE A PLAYER ALWAYS A PLAYER OR SO WE ARE LEAD TO BELIEVE. RORY IS STRONG-MINDED AND FINN VERY MUCH THE BACHELOR BOY BUT TOGETHER THEY TURN EACH OTHERS WORLDS UPSIDE DOWN. I LOVED THIS SWEET READ AND FELT FOR FINN HAVING TO PROVE HIMSELF WORTHY TO EVERYONE. MY FAVOURITE CHARACTER HAD TO BE FLASH HE REMINDS ME SO MUCH OF MY DOG.
Kelly Elliott has become one of my favorite authors thanks to NetGalley! Finn and Rory seem like the likeliest of couples but Rory will soon tame Finn's ways while Finn will show Rory that life doesn't have to be preplanned at every turn.
I enjoyed Finn. A lot. He's the dream man. This poor clueless man, when it comes to women, babies and apparently dogs. This book will get you in your feelings, but steam you up as well. The sexier than sin firefighter, wound too tight attorney, and more. It has it all. I laughed so hard I cried, cried so hard I laughed. I haven't read much by this author, but am now, frantically going back and snapping up all I can. Whether stand alone or part of a series, you'd never know by reading this book. The character transitions are smooth enough that you aren't feeling left out, plot so well thought out that you're not scratching your head or feeling deja vu. I think all lovers of romance books should read this! The only negative thing I have to say, is that I felt it ended too abrupt. The whole story built up, and then bam, it's just, neatly wrapped and closed. I would have loved to see it play out a little more.
I love Finn and Rory! Finn and Rory had great chemistry from the very beginning. The characters were written well...I loved the dog and Finn trying to tame him! There was romance mixed with a little angst. Finn was a swoonworthy alpha Fireman hero. All in all another win by Kelly Elliott!

Review Ok first off, this is totally my favorite type of book! The family, the firefighters, everything. I love series' where each book is a sibling's story. It always reminds me of my first love, Nora Roberts' series (The MacGregors!!!!).
Finn is a playboy firefighter who loves to fight fire. He loves his career and his only complaint is wishing his mom would stop wanting him to settle down. He has a new Chief who he knows doesn't like him. So he tries to stay below his radar. At least until he sees lady lawyer who attracts him.
Rory is still trying to prove herself in her mother's law firm. She's earned her degree just like they all did. She's working for the firefighter's union for a harassment lawsuit. She sees a firefighter in the crowd who she feels the zing for but her dad (the Chief) would go bonkers if she got involved with a fireman.
Fighting for Love is the second novel in Kelly Elliott's Boston Love series, and having truly enjoyed the first novel in series, I was eager to read this one and it didn't disappoint. While it wasn't nearly as dramatic as Searching for Harmony, the first book in the series, I liked it just as well for other reasons, and, like the preceding novel, it also gets 4 stars from this reader.
This story features Finn, a drop-dead handsome player who is also a Boston firefighter. Rory is a lawyer, working at her mother's law firm, and is co-counsel in representing the firefighter's union in a sexual assault lawsuit against one of the firefighters who works at the same fire company where her father is Captain. She's driven to succeed and works extremely long hours trying to prove to other members of the law firm, many of whom seem to feel that she only got the job right out of law school because her mother owns the firm, most of that opinion coming from her co-counsel and lead attorney in the lawsuit, who happens to be an obnoxious, overbearing, tale-telling jerk.
Both of Rory's parents have pressured her to succeed, and now that she's 27, they are also pressuring her to marry, although she hasn't had a date in years because her dedication to succeeding at her job and proving the naysayers wrong, leaves her no time for a social life. Her father also has one caveat, engraved in stone--she is forbidden to date or get involved with a firefighter--but when Finn spots Rory at a union meeting, he's instantly drawn to her and tries to ask her out, and she turns him down. But Finn is persistent, sweet, sexy and charming, and utterly irresistible. While I'm not a fan of insta-love, I don't mind insta-attraction, and the heat these two characters generate is enough to power up a small city, but when Rory admits to Finn that she's not had sex in five years, he not only agrees to take it slow, he also agrees to keep their relationship hidden from Rory's domineering father.
Once these two start dating, this novel becomes one of the most romantic romance novels I've read in years. Finn was an easy character to love, especially because he's so attuned to Rory and goes out of his way to charm her and make her smile. Their feelings for each other blossom quickly, and while they early on realize they love one another, which in most novels would be cause for criticism from this reviewer, as someone who became engaged to her husband after dating him for only 3 weeks, I do understand how quickly love can happen. Of course, the fly in the ointment is Rory's unreasonable and overprotective father, who threatens to fire Finn if she even looks at him twice, and Rory's blind obedience to her father's wishes, no matter the cost to Finn's or her own emotions, which made me disrespect her, since 27 is long past the age where she should have stood up to her father, and it's that relationship that is the cause of all the drama in this novel.
While Fighting for Love is nowhere near as angst-ridden as the previous novel in the series, Searching for Harmony, the characters in it are so well-drawn and their story so well-written in alternating points of view, that you rather quickly feel that you know them, and they are easy to fall in love with, especially Finn. Yes, there's relationship drama, situational drama, and an HEA ending, and this novel, although second in a series, reads just fine as a standalone.
If you're looking for a romance that's really romantic, really hot, really emotional, and which would make a great beach read, I highly recommend this one.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance reader copy of this novel and received no compensation for doing so. The opinions expressed are my own.
Fighting for Love by Kelly Elliott is the second book about firefighters in love. In this installment Elliott chose to highlight the turmoil someone faces when dating or married to a firefighter. The book opens with strong sexual language to introduce Finn, a firefighter with a womanizing reputation. He is attracted to a lawyer, Rory, who was leading a meeting with the firefighters regarding their union. As the book progresses, we learn that Finn has been a player but is ready to settle down. We also discover that Rory is initially off limits, and this dynamic creates the tension to drive the story.
Though the storyline has possibilities, Elliott chose to emphasize many common thoughts and fears: being a firefighter is dangerous and dating one stirs up many emotions; daughters try very hard to please their fathers (Rory's father figures strongly in the story and in how she perceives herself), some men sleep around and then are lovestruck, ready to change their ways. I found much of the storyline to be expected, and I was frustrated by Rory's inability to stand up to her father.
If you are looking for a quick romance (think beach read) and don't mind crude language this will be a good pick for you. It is second in themed series, though unnecessary to read the other one first.
Rory is a lawyer who practices law at her mother's firm but is never taken seriously by collegues because of her mother. She is assigned to work as a lawyer for the firefighters union when she meets Finn. This story is steamy hot, full of drama because they have to keep their relationship a secret from Rory's family and overall and excellent read.
