This is another one of those books that I loved but I really wished that I read book 1 first because book 2 blew me out of the water. I devoured Perfect. I think I read it in a couple of hours after my kids went to bed for the night and when I was done with it, I closed the book and just stared out into space….trying to digest everything that I just read. Yes, it was truly that good.

Celestine was a reluctant hero of the Flawed. When I say reluctantly because she really didn’t want to be a poster child for anything. All she wanted to do, at first, was to just find a place that she could go off grid and hide from Craven and his Whistleblowers. But that just doesn’t happen. Any place that she finds sanctuary in, they always show up. I kept thinking that maybe she had a tracking device or something on her at one point because of how they would always show up. But it was revealed, in most of the cases, that fellow Flawed were calling the Whistleblowers and altering them to where she was. Which was kind of crappy, in my eyes.

I couldn’t stand Craven. He was gunning for Celestine because he thought that she had incriminating video evidence that shows him illegally branding Celestine on the spine without numbing the area first. Then he tries to cover up his crime (because it was a crime) by kidnapping everyone that was there or saw her brand. Like that was going to help everything. And when he does finally get Celestine, what does he do….arranges for her to have a skin graft to cover her brand. Any scene with him in it made me feel seriously greasy and I wanted to shower.

I wasn’t too sure about Carrick at first. Everything he did for and with Celestine ended up serving himself or the political party that he has become attached to. I even began to question if he was really attracted to her or if it was a ruse to get her to join him and help the political party. But, like everything else in this book, not everything is what it seems.

Again, I do wish that I had read book 1. I had a small issue with the significance to where the people were branded. It wasn’t clearly explained in Perfect and that drove me nuts. But it didn’t take away from the story. Just personally drove me nuts.

The end of the book was pretty intense, action wise and I did like that all the storylines were brought together and ended.

The sneaking around got a bit old, but Finn and Rory were so fun to read. I fell a little in love with both of them.

Fighting for Love is a contemporary romance by author Kelly Elliott and is book two in her Boston Love series. Despite the fact that this book is a second installment, it can easily be read as a stand-alone. I now have a few books by Ms. Elliott under my belt and I readily admit that I am a fan of her sweet and gushy tales of love and woe. There is just something about reading a low-angst romance that you can easily fall into and be swept away by all the love and happiness.

Finn Ward is a play-boy fire-fighter who does not really see settling down with one woman in his near future. His brother may have found happiness with the love of his life, but Finn has never found that special woman who can make him see beyond a few hours of fun. When he meets Rory Adams, he’s not prepared for the gorgeous lawyer who stops him in his tracks. All of a sudden Finn can see more than simple lust-filled fun. He is wanting more. But, Rory is the daughter of the fire chief, Finn’s boss, who has been quite vocal about keeping his daughter away from fire fighters. Particularly, he wants his daughter far away from Finn.

The attraction goes both ways and Rory and Finn can’t seem to stay away from one another. The pair form a tentative friendship which leads to feelings developing for each other. Finn finally wants to take a chance at love but is Rory willing to go against her father? What about Finn’s career? Can Rory be brave enough to risk her heart, especially to someone who often risks his life because of his job?

Finn is a firefighter, playboy for Engine #33. He loves the adrenaline rush he experiences when rushing into a burning building to save someone. He also enjoys women, almost to a fault. He and his best friend Colton are on the Captain's "naughty" list as a result of their playboy ways. As a punishment, the Captain decides to give the firehouse puppy, Flash, to Finn to take home and train. Finn tries to exhaust Flash by taking him for a run, but Flash has other ideas. He takes off and runs right into Rory...

Rory, an attorney with her mom's law firm, has always lived a life mapped out for her. She wanted to be a teacher, but attended law school because that's what her mom wanted. Her dad, the Captain at Engine #33, has forbidden Rory to ever date a firefighter. He doesn't want her to constantly worry if her boyfriend/husband will make it home. He also knows that firefighters tend to be playboys and doesn't want Rory to fall for someone who may be unfaithful. So Rory tries to be the "good girl", until she meets Finn via Flash....

Finn and Rory engage in a "secret" romance that moves extremely fast. So fast that Rory practically meets Finn's whole family on their first date. They are able to keep their relationship a secret for 2mths, until Rory's creepy co-worker informs her mom that Rory is dating Finn. Rory swears her mom to secrecy, promising she'll tell her dad before the Firefighters Ball. Only she doesn't. Captain Adams loses it when he finds out and tells Rory to break it off or he'll have Finn transferred or fired....

So as not to spoil the rest of the story, I'll just say that they eventually get their HEA. This novel was laugh out loud funny, laugh so hard you cry, while also engaging you in the lives of every character. I don't think I've ever enjoyed a novel as much as this one! The scenes with Finn and Flash or when Finn and Rory were changing Presley's diaper for the first time had me in tears I laughed so hard! I was kind of disappointed that we never found out the reason or lesson the Captain was trying to get across to Finn by having him train Flash. I can guess, but I really wanted to know his reasoning. I also wanted to read the last letter Finn gave to Rory.....I've never read a Kelly Elliott novel and this was a most pleasant surprise! I can't wait to read the rest of the series! I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.

Kelly Elliott has done it again and delivered another fantastic romance book! Fighting for Love is a contemporary romance and is book two in her Boston Love series.
Finn Ward is a play-boy fire-fighter who does not really finding the right woman, in fact, one woman to settle down with in his near future. His brother may have found that happiness with the love of his life, but Finn hasn’t found that one special woman who can make him see beyond a few hours of fun. That all changes when Finn meets Rory Adams, a beautiful lawyer who stops him dead in his track. All of a sudden Finn can see more than simple lust-filled nights with many women, all he sees is Rory. But, Rory is the daughter of the fire chief, Finn’s boss, who is always quite vocal about keeping his daughter away from fire fighters. Particularly, he wants his daughter far away from Finn.
Now Rory herself has noticed there is this attraction between them and she too feels attraction towards Finn. Rory doesn't have much experience with men or relationships so she doesn’t know what to think , especially with Finn who is so much more experienced. Only thing is her father is against her dating Finn…but she doesn’t want to listen to her father. She wants to see where this thing with Finn is going so she hides the fact from her father she is dating Finn. During this time when they are dating, Finn comes to the realization that Rory definitely isn’t just a conquest, she isn’t just a girl that he wants to date, ---he realizes that not only does he want to introduce her to his family now , which he hasn’t ever wanted to do before with any other girl he has dated but he realizes that Rory is actually the one, the one for him, for life.

Finn and Rory and such a great match, and what I loved most about them was how genuine they are. They were sweet, funny, sexy together and Finn was so romantic and alpha, it was soo cute. I also loved the other characters in the book as well, especially Flash, the dog. This was a feel good romance which I highly recommend as a great romance read if you like feel good romance.

My rating: 4.8 stars ****

Fire fighter and lawyer come together in Fighting for Love (Boston Love Novel 2) by Kelly Elliott. While it is book two in the series it is easily a stand-alone. It is also a sweet, yet hot story of two people who shouldn’t fall for each other but do.

Even though fire fighter, Finn is not looking for love, Rory makes him think differently. There are a few problems including his boss and father to Rory but over-all they make it through with little angst. While most genuine romances are like this, this pushes the boundaries of sweet with plenty of instant lust/love. Still, it has a smile-on-your-face conclusion which always works for me.

Yet another winner from Kelly Elliott. I loved Finn and Rory so much... I mean who can resist a hot firefighter? Not me and definitely not Rory... the whole problem of her father being Finn's boss throws a little kink in their relationship, but when there's a will there's a way....and Finn is determined to get her over all their obstacles.

I love how Ms. Elliott is stepping out of her comfort zone with these books. Don't get me wrong, there's the alpha males we've all come to love about her books, but the fact that we're getting read about smoking how fireman is what has me the most excited. This book is so very well setup and I really connected with all the characters. I got a little irritated at Rory's parents a few times, but I knew in the end love would win and Ms. Elliott didn't let me down.!

A hot firefighter , a strong female lawyer ...
Finn and Rory are made for each other from the very beginning. But things get complicated when Finn never planned to settle down before meeting Rory

"Was I capable of falling in love and being with one woman only? "

and when family drama and secret start interfering with Rory's relationship and happiness.

"I’ll never forget the moment when our eyes first met across that room. The way it made me feel was something I had never experienced before. "

The love between Finn and Rory is so passionate and romantic ... they MADE LOVE ❤️

FIGHTING LOVE is my first book by Kelly Elliott and I'm definitely going to read her other ones.

I just fell in love with this story!

This is the second book in the "Boston Love" series that I have read and reviewed, and it is soooo good! I just fell for Finn. He is a bad boy with a good heart and when he sees Rory, all bets are off. He doesn't even realize it! He is a huge romantic and it is so sweet to read!

Rory has a good heart and totally falls for Finn, but their love is shrouded by a big secret. One that will make their precious relationship very precarious.

The author wraps this story around family, work, and steamy passion. With laugh-out-loud scenes and tender, touching moments, this book is a fabulous read not to be missed! So Warm and loving.

I read the first book in the series and I was glad to see there was more. This was a nice read. The story had me interested to see how it would all play out. Finn is a playboy firefighter and Rory is a lawyer who is solely focused on her job. When these two meet, there is an instant attraction. While Finn would love to get to know Rory more, Rory does her best to avoid him. There are some obstacles that would say this pairing is a bad idea but the chemistry can not be denied. I liked how Finn chased after Rory-the effort that he put in was so romantic. He was determined and put everything out on the table to get her. When Rory finally gives in, it was hot and sweet. I enjoyed seeing the progression of their relationship and the depth of their feelings. They were just so good together. I really liked Finn’s family. They were the best. Seeing Preston and Harmony again (couple from thee first book) and reading about them living out their lives was fantastic. Rory’s friends were also great and I liked how they really cared for her. Now there were some parts and people that I wasn’t a fan of that really deterred the story for me but I was still about to finish since I needed to know how it would go. I am intrigued about the older brother Wes and their sister Angie. I hope Kelly gives them each a story. Overall, this was an okay-good read.

There isn't one part of this book that I didn't love. Anything that Kelly writes I will be reading. This story has just the right amount of sass, funny moments, sexiness. Two people married to their jobs are about to have their worlds flipped upside down. Grab this book now and enjoy a fabulous book!

This book was one emotional ride! I really adored Finn and the ways he tries to win Rory's heart! Though Preston will always have my heart out of these boys, Finn has a special place too. I really loved watching his character develop through the book. With Rory, there were times I wanted to just yell at her to tell her dad to piss off, but I get where she is coming from. The turmoil that her parents put her through was heartbreaking. Then we have Flash. I think everyone needs a Flash. I laughed so much because of that puppy!
Overall, this book is a great story, lots of passion and great banter. Finn is your alpha firefighter while Rory has the sass to bite back when it comes to his ways. These two meld well together and keep you on your toes.

My review is going to be short and maybe not so sweet.

Wow…I really loved the Wanted series so I was really excited to read this story. I hate to say that I really didn’t love it. It was extremely cliché and overly predictable. I didn’t really love Rory all that much. Her dad was a jacka$$. Finn was ok…the overly sweet and romantic, former player that Ms. Elliott seems to love. The dialog was hard to get through at times…very immature, sweet and sappy.

I honestly hate the whole lack of communication, forced martyr angst in a story and this book is rife with it. The solution was so obvious from really early on that I was super frustrated.

I made it to about 40% before I just started skimming to finish it. If you like sweet, sappy, extremely predictable romance stories with ridiculously forced dialog, this book is for you.

Rory's dad just asks one thing of her. DO NOT DATE A FIREMAN. But wouldn't you know it... the guy who has caught her eye just so happens to be a fireman and also in her father's unit. Oh yeah, and did I mention he's the firehouse manwhore too?

Finn Ward has never felt this way about anyone. When he catches the beautiful brunette's eye at the Firemen's Union Meeting, he has to find out who this woman is.

Once the two connect, sparks fly and neither seems to care what the her father has to say about this... they are made for each other. But life doesn't always work out the way you plan. and Rory must make the decision that will end up making both of them miserable.

I love Finn and Rory. They are through the roof fun and sexy together. Totally made for each other. I love Finn's family too and the dynamic between the siblings and their parents.

Once I start one of Kelly's books, I can never seem to step away. I devour them and am always left wanting more. I adore this series and can't wait for more of the Ward Family!

I am enjoying the Boston Love Series by Kelly. I mean who doesn't love a bunch of hot firemen? Add in Kelly's special sweet romantic alpha and you have swoon worthy reading ahead.

Rory was convinced she had her life plan all in order. She was busy working her way in career path, following her mother as a lawyer. Long busy days and more working in the evenings didn't leave much room for a social life but she was focused. When interest sparked across the room her life quickly took a turn. But wait she had been forbidden to date a fire fighter.

Finn might have the reputation of a ladies man but he always knew when he met the one he would change his ways. At first glance of Rory she piqued his interest. The more he got know her the more he wanted to know her. suddenly he was struck with a need to make her happy and smile. If he could just figure out how to get the Cap on his side.

Can what starts out as a secret survive the test? Will Captain Adams come around and let them see where things go? Are they willing to fight for their love?

As always Kelly had me turning pages, eating up all the sweetness that was Finn. Cheering for Finn and Rory to make it fir the long hall. Excited for more of the Boston love series.

Instant attraction. That's what occurred between fireman and known playboy, Finn and workaholic lawyer, Rory. Rory's always tried to please her parents by doing what they asked. Seeing Finn would be the 1st time Rory went against their wishes. What's a girl to do?
Engrossing and delightful romantic fun read! Enjoyed Finn, Rory, their friends and family (except Rory's dad). And then there's Flash, the firehouse 4 month old untrained pup! Loved Flash, and his antics! Still am baffled by Captain Adam's and his final outlook. Would love to read Colton, Zeb and Captain Adams stories.
Voluntarily read an ARC, thru Netgalley and publisher, for my honest review.

A Firefighter Tamed by Love

The only thing Finn likes more than being a firefighter is being single and having his pick of the available women. Rory is a fledgling attorney trying to establish her independence and make a name for herself in her mother’s law firm. At the opposite extreme from Finn, Rory hasn’t had time for romance, and she’s very naïve.

Finn’s parents would like him to settle down, but it’s the furthest thing from his mind until he sees Rory. She is one of the attorneys representing the fire company, and Finn can’t take his eyes off her. The only problem is that she’s the captain’s daughter, and he has made it his mission to keep Rory away from an entanglement with a firefighter.

Finn is sure the captain doesn’t like him, and when the captain gives him responsibility for Flash the firehouse dog, Finn is convinced of it. The beauty of it is that Flash, who has more energy than he knows what to do with, attracts Rory’s attention and leads to a meeting and cooperation between Finn and Rory to tame Flash.

This second book in the Boston Love Series can be read as a standalone novel although some characters appear in both books. I enjoyed the characters. Finn is a sexy guy, and it’s fun to see him trying to cope with the idea that he might want to settle-down with one woman. Rory has little experience dating, but when she sees Finn she knows what she wants, and her thoughts are not remotely innocent. However, my favorite character is Flash. How can you not fall for a lovable dog who does everything wrong?

If you enjoy a tender romance that will make you laugh and cry, you’ll enjoy this book. The characters do a lot of growing over the course of the novel which makes you keep reading to see if they can overcome their personal limitations and find happiness in love.

I received this book from Loveswept for this review.

Hot firemen are always a good story line to me. This story has a bit of a twist where the hero isn’t the tough muscular guy who rescues the desperate, needing woman that he saved from a fire. And I have to say that those aren’t all that interesting either. But this author brings us a couple of guys who know their way around women and have absolutely no need or desire to slow down. Sex in public places isn’t off limits and long term relationships are definitely out of the picture. They are in the prime of their life and have to live it to the fullest – and that definition includes lots and lots of women.

Enter the attractive young union lawyer who just happens to be the captain’s daughter and completely off limits! Finn knows he can’t have her and that makes Rory even more appealing. She’s trying to prove herself as a lawyer at her mother’s law firm and do what she has always wanted to do.

They find it impossible to stay apart and begin a ‘friends with benefits’ relationship. No one will get hurt or lose their job because no one else will know about it. They both know the rules going in and are determined to stick with that.

A fun read about two people pleasers who are looking to please each other in more ways than one! You’ll enjoy this sometimes funny and sometimes emotional story about two people who begin to discover what choices life has brought them. And the consequences that happen along the way.

I received an ARC from the publisher for an honest and unbiased review. No compensation was expected or received for the review

Finn is a sexy, playboy firefighter who falls head-over-heels for Rory, a gorgeous lawyer who also happens to be his Captain’s daughter. Knowing his Captain has some kind of serious grudge against him, Finn knows he has his work cut out for him. Rory has grown up with her dad constantly forbidding her to date a fireman, what are the chances that the one man to completely knock her off her feet not only happens to be a fireman, but one who works for her father!
Fighting for Love is a fun romance I enjoyed reading. There are several laugh-out-loud moments, especially with the station dog Flash and his hilarious antics. There is an undeniable chemistry between Finn and Rory. Their romance was sweet, fun and flirtatious, sexy and romantic. I was wrapped up in their story from early on. Only a few things really stood out for me. I would like to have seen Rory stand up more to her father. She appeared so strong and confident in all other areas, but for a 26 year old woman, I felt she was pathetically weak when it came to her father. I hated how her father felt he could control her life when it came to men. His reaction to the relationship and throughout the rest of the book was appalling. I wish there would have been some type of resolve concerning his behavior. Maybe, hopefully, there will be in a later book in the series. Also, I would have loved to have seen some type of reprimand for Russell – especially what he said to her in the office that morning. His character and attitude seemed like it was going to play into something, but then it was gone with no real explanation.

Kelly Elliott has delivered again! I have loved Kelly since I first read the Wanted series so long ago, her books always suck me straight in and I can't put them down until I finish! This book was no different, I was pulled right into the story and couldn’t get enough of Finn and Rory

"Fighting for Love" is a hilarious read that grabs ya quick and doesn't let ya go until the end. Only read this book if you have time to invest in the whole story ... I couldn't put it down. Read it in one night.
