It has been a while since I read one of Kelly Elliott's books, I had forgotten how much I enjoy them. They are easy to read, have a sense of humour and the H's are great.

This was no different - a bit of insta love but still good. Loved the H and h and the side characters with the exception of the h's dad - what was his problem? Nice epilogue with a HEA, sigh - great!

4.5 Stars!!

I absolutely loved and adored Finn and Rory’s story. I was completely swept up in their love :)

Fighting For Love is the second book in Kelly Elliott’s Boston Love Series. These books are standalone novels with interconnecting characters. With this series I believe it is possible to read these books out of order, but it wouldn’t be my suggestion. We see a lot of Preston and Harmony (from Book 1) in this story, that I think you should read their story first and then continue on with this book. The storylines are different and not continuing but I feel reading this book first would take away from Preston and Harmony’s story.

I think this book is one of Kelly’s longest books to date. Which is a good thing and a bad thing in my opinion. I loved Finn and Rory so much I didn’t want their story to end, but there was a time around the 60%-70% mark that I felt the story fell off track. Kelly had the story going one way and then we lost that until closer to the end of the book. I also felt that there was some things I felt weren’t finished or answered (Rory’s dad and Russell) I was left wondering what happened with these two characters, or I guess I wanted more out of their storyline. I think had some of the filler around the 60-70% mark had been left out, we could’ve gotten all the answers I was hoping for. I know this is confusing and vague but I don’t want to explain it anymore because it could spoil something.

I will say the one thing that took me by complete shock and was so different from a Kelly Elliott book, was who the “villain” was. Usually we see a nasty ex come into play or a jealous hag who won’t take a hint, but in this one I actually disliked Rory’s father to the point that I wanted to hit him!!! I have never disliked a parent in one of Kelly’s books, she usually gives us the parents everyone wishes for, well not in this one. I couldn’t believe how much anger I had towards her dad. He went too far in my opinion!!!!

As I said before this book is about Finn and Rory. Finn is a firefighter and Preston’s (book 1) brother. Rory is an attorney and the daughter of Finn’s Captain at the firehouse. When they first see each other there is an instant attraction and both wanted more. Now their relationship was not without it’s challenges. These two have some serious hills to overcome. Can Finn make Rory see their love is worth fighting for??? How far will Rory let her parents control her life?? Can she finally stand up for herself and go for those things that make her happy??? Read this book to find out those answers.

I enjoyed getting to know Angela (Finn’s sister) and Wes (Finn’s Brother) better in this book. I also liked some of the other characters we were introduced to in this book. Rory’s friends were great!!! I can’t wait to see where she takes this series and what the books to follow will be about.

I would recommend this book to anyone. It had everything you look for in a Kelly Elliott book!!!

I Loved this book!! This is the 2nd book in the Boston Love Series. Book #1 was Harmony and Preston's story, Finn Ward is Preston's brother, he's also a firefighter/business owner/HUGE playboy. In fact, that is what he's known as being infamous for. Never having had a relationship, he doesn't date, he just hooks up with women.

When Finn falls asleep during his union meeting when he's supposed to be listening to what his Captain is saying, he wakes up to see the most beautiful woman he's ever seen. During the remainder of the meeting, they exchange flirty glances across the room with each other. Not knowing who she is or why she's even at the meeting, he just knows that he HAS to talk to her and ask her out. When the meeting ends, he approaches her and they exchange hellos but they get interrupted, which leaves Finn no chance to get a name or phone number.

Rory Adams, lawyer, her father is the captain of the firehouse, and her mom is the owner of the law firm that she is now working for. Because she's working at her Mom's firm, her coworkers assume that she has it easy. So she sets out to prove herself by taking the cases that no one wants and winning each and every one. She's a workaholic. Never having a social life, either she was studying in school or working late.

When a firefighter is accused of a crime, Rory is assigned to the case with another attorney, who expects her to do his grunt work. (Boy is he in for a surprise.) Meeting the hot firefighter at the union meeting was a shock, running into him again and knowing that he was asking about her was just a big surprise.
But when Finn and Rory start to connect the dots, they realize that dating will be next to impossible. She's been told ever since she was little that she wasn't allowed to date a firefighter. Her dad and mom didn't want that kind of life for her, the constant fear every time there was an emergency. Her father is his boss, he could destroy his future. But their attraction and chemistry is so strong that it can't be denied, so they agree to date secretly. Lying to her controlling parents doesn't feel good, yet being with Finn is the best she's ever felt in her life. She's finally living life.

Can the lovebirds hide their relationship without getting caught? What will happen when her Father finds out?

This is a must read!!

Another amazing read from one of my favourite romance authors. A beautifully written love story about taking a chance on the one person you maybe never thought you would. Everything you want a romance read to be

An up and coming lawyer falls for a firefighter who happens to be in the fire station captained by the lawyer's father. The father forbids her to date firefighters. So the story begins.

While the description of this book had me anxious to read it, when I actually started reading….I was pretty sure I wasn’t going to like it. I don’t know if it was because I didn’t right away like Finn or if it was because I had the feeling Rory was shaping up to be this highly successful career woman that was a mid-twenties virgin that was going to make me roll my eyes every five minutes. Whatever the case I had prepared myself to struggle with this book and I did struggle….to keep my eyes open at two in the morning because I really wanted to see how things ended for these two! I loved these guys!
Rory Adams works to prove that she didn’t just earn a position at her law firm because her mother is one of the partners. For that reason her social life has been pretty much non-existent and even the thought of a love life or a relationship is so far off the radar that NASA would have to issue a space shuttle recovery mission to bring it within the realm of possibility. When she lands a case that has her defending one of Boston’s Firemen she stumbles across Finn Ward. He’s insanely hot, he has a reputation for being a player and he just happens to work in her father’s firehouse….one thing her father has forbid her to do is get involved with a fireman. For most of her life she’s allowed her life to be navigated by her parents and she’s pretty much done what they’ve asked of her. But there is something about Finn Ward that has her willing to push the limits with her parents and let the chips fall where they may.
Finn Ward loves his job, his family and his dating life. He’s got plenty of time to think about settling down. When he sees Rory Adams at a meeting at the Firehouse he’s instantly attracted to her and has her listed as his next conquest. Unfortunately Rory just happens to be the daughter of his station house Captain, the Captain who just happens to hate his guts, the Captain who hates him so much he’s put him charge of training the new station house dog who likes to literally rip his apartment apart.
Rory and Finn have several run-ins before she finally agrees to go out with him and when they do, they click instantly; but there’s that little issue of her dad. So they agree to date but keep it from her father until Rory finds the right time to announce it her parents. During this time Finn realizes that Rory definitely isn’t just a conquest, she isn’t just a girl that he wants to date (something he’s never done before), and he realizes that not only does he want to introduce her to his family but he realizes that Rory is actually THE ONE.
As I mentioned, I really didn’t think I was going to like these two but I swear I just loved them! They were sweet, funny and Finn was so damned romantic it wasn’t funny. There were quite a few moments in the story that were really cliché but the way Kelly wove them into the story she just made them really work. What was even more surprising was the feeling that I kind of knew these characters and then realized that this was book number two in her Boston Love series and I’d actually read the book one about Finn’s brother Preston and his now wife Harmony. I loved the other characters in the book as well, especially Flash, the dog. The love/hate relationship between Finn and him was hilarious. The two characters in the book that I didn’t care for were Russell and Rick, Rory’s dad. Well Russell was insignificant but Rory’s dad…this guy was a tough one. On the one hand he was a pretty cool guy who loved his daughter but on the other hand, he was a jerk that stood in the way of his daughter’s happiness. By the end I didn’t know if I hated him or sympathized with him. I really enjoyed this book except for two things; 1. Rory’s reaction to Finn’s um…..”Member”….”will it fit?” Insert eye-roll…Ugh that drives me bananas anytime I read it in a book. Babies come out of there…OF COURSE IT WILL FIT! 2. The way things were left with Rory and her dad. I’m a closure girl….this relationship was left wide open. I need to know exactly how things ended with them!
Definitely a good read. If you haven’t read it, be sure to read Searching for Harmony (Preston and Harmony’s story). Can’t wait to see whose story is next. Will it be one of the remaining Ward siblings; older brother Wes, younger sister Angie, Angie’s friend Alexis or will it be one of Rory’s friends or maybe Finn’s friend Colton.

One of the things I love most about Kelly Elliott is her ability to write a heartfelt contemporary romance that will pull at your heartstrings but also leave you breathless from laughing so hard. Fighting For Love is book 2 in the Boston Love series and is the story of workaholic Rory Adams and playboy firefighter Finn ward. Book 1, Searching for Harmony is Harmony and Preston's story. You don't need to read it before Fighting For Love but those

Rory and Finn first meet at firehouse meeting, both curious about each other, but their encounter was brief. It wasn't until a chance encounter while on a walk with the firehouse Dalmation that Rory and Finn actually got to get to know one another. And it wasn't long after that these two are are completely smitten with each other.

Everything seems to be perfect until they realize that Rory's dad is actually Finn's chief. And Chief Adams' number one rule for Rory is NO dating firefighters. This is a big challenge for them, so how will they make it work? Can they make it work? Is Fighting For Love enough?

I loved this story. It was full of hilarious, laugh-out-loud moments as well as the sweet, over the top romantic scenes that had me swooning and falling hard for Finn Ward. If you're a fan of contemporary romance Fighting For Love is the book for you. A perfect mix of emotional highs and lows.

"Finn Ward was my weakness. A desire burning so deep inside of me it was hard to ignore. He was the wrong I knew deep in my heart was my right."

"I need your touch like the desert needs water."

Fighting For Love is the second book in the Boston Love Series and follows the story of Finn and Rory. From the moment we meet Finn, he appears to be your typical single playboy. The only thing he loves more than being single is his job as a firefighter. Little did he know that when he met Rory, his life was going to be turned upside down. Suddenly his priorities in life didn't matter. He finally understood what his friends and family were always talking about. He finally found someone who knocked him on his ass and gave him something worth fighting for.....Ever since Rory graduated from Law School, she's been trying to make a name for herself; something that has been challenging since she works at her mother's law firm. Her entire life, Rory has always done what is expected of her and never questioned anything. All of that goes out the window when she meets Finn. Finn is everything that she could possibly want in a guy. But there's one big, glaring problem: He works for her father and her father doesn't want her having anything to do with firemen....However staying away from Finn proves to be even harder than Rory could imagine. Their chemistry is intense and undeniable. Will Finn and Rory take a chance and explore the sparks between them or will they let others opinions put out their fire??

Fighting For Love was a fantastic love story. Finn and Rory pulled me in from page one and I honestly could not get enough of the two of them together. The pull between the two of them was so strong, it had me turning the pages furiously to see what would happen next. And let me tell you, these two do not disappoint. Finn took me by such surprise. He was romantic. He was caring. He was alpha. He was utterly swoon-worthy. He pulled out all of the stops when it came to Rory. And Rory...She had a good heart. She loved with everything that she had. She tried to see the good in everyone, but had insecurities just like everyone else. Together, I think Finn and Rory made an excellent team. They just balanced each other out so well and just made you want to cheer for them to find happiness.

The road to happily ever after was not an easy one for Finn and Rory. There were quite a few obstacles and insecurities to overcome. These two really had to fight for what they wanted and that made me appreciate their story even more.

Overall, Fighting for Love was a really great read. I think the title of this book suits the story perfectly and really rings home that anything and I mean anything worth having, is worth fighting for; no matter how tough the fight. I loved everything about this story from beginning to end and can not wait to see where this series will go next!

This book was pretty good. I enjoyed reading it. It had great writing, great story. You could feel the chemistry between Finn and Rory from the first interaction. But their dating was basically forbidden by her father, who told her she was never to date a firefighter. So keeping their secret, they had to be careful.

Kelly Elliott has delivered another fabulous contemporary romance read. I absoloutely loved this book and devoured it in one sitting as I just couldn't put it down.

Fighting For Love had the right mix of everything I want from a contemporary romance: a great story with likable characters who have oodles of chemistry, the right amout of sweet and sexy and a drizzle of drama to mix it up.

This was a real feel good read that left me with a great smile at the end - 4.5 really enjoyable stars

N.B This is an interconnected stand alone book and you do not need to have reasd Searching For Harmony to enjoy this.

I was provided with a copy of this book from the Publisher via Net Galley; there was no inducement or obligation.

Finn Ward is enamoured with Rory Adams and Rory Adams is incredibly attracted to Finn Ward too. However, there are obstacles that get in their way. This book has many different facets involved but the main thing that I love about this book is the way that it focuses on a woman’s love for a man she knows she can’t have.

The forbidden element to this book makes my heart hurt and weigh heavily at time but this book touches my heart. Kelly has a way of making you feel and feel hard for these characters.

The fear and anxiety of a specific person in this book majorly annoyed me because this person was attempting to control the whole situation out of their own distorted interpretation of happiness. This was a driving force throughout the book. This hurt my heart more than once and it made me want to crawl into the book and hug them all to make them feel better.

Alas, I wasn’t able to do that but this book was a solid book, Kelly blew it out of the park and I am looking forward to reading more from this author soon!

Simply put this book was AH-MAZING!!!!
Every time I start a book by Kelly I wonder what kind of awesome am I going to find. As usual she didn't disappoint.
Rory and Finn's love story was beautiful. Plus it was set in Boston one of my very favorite places.
Rory Adams is such a spitfire when it comes to her work. It's all about work.
Finn Ward is a firefighter...Enough said
Fate always steps in, Rory and Finn meet at a union meeting. That's all I will say because it's a spoiler free review. But I will say this is another hit for Kelly.

There were so many great things about this book that I would recommend for anyone to buy it now. One minute I'm sighing because Finn did something so sweet and or sexy, then the next laughing so hard that I scared my dog. Seriously, Fighting for Love is a great book. And so true, they really did have to fight for their happily ever after.

Who would have thought a fire house dog could change an entire life. And no this book isn't really about just the dog. But he sure plays a huge part. Kelly hits a perfect 5 stars for me once again with Fighting for Love. Finn and Rory are so adorable!!! I could not get enough of this one and was sad when it ended. I loved them so much I wanted so much more.

This was a very funny and light read. Yes, there was some tension and some drama. But the banter and constant laughs had me going from page one til the last. I giggled with them, I cried a little with them too. It was such a feel good read. Rory is so funny. Shes sassy and full of confidence even though she is a workaholic. Her job has always been her focus. Not men. And that's only until she meets Finn, and the spoiled crazy dog.

Finn is perfection. He has an amazing sense of humor! I fell in love with him instantly. He was the typical firefighter playboy. The captain hated him. He was known all around with the ladies. But that all changed when he seen Rory. He had to have her. Only this sassy woman put him in his place and didn't look back. I loved how Kelly did this. She didn't make it insta love. There was some work put in. Finn is SOOOO ROMANTIC! Like I need him to have a talk with my man. Cause he seriously has the moves. I LOVED IT!

If you're wanting a feel good read with lots of romance and humor, look no further. Cause its right here and its amazing. AMAZING READ!!! LOVED THIS BOOK HARD!!!!!

This was simply romance at its best. Rory and Finn's love for each other outlasted the tests that life threw at it. From a set of controlling parents to a job filled with danger, their relationship ended with true love. What started out with an instant attraction bloomed into soulmates. This story had me laughing out loud sand wiping tears from my cheeks. A must read.

This is the second in the Boston love series. Finn the second oldest Ward brother who is also a fireman becomes intrigue with the lawyer at the union meeting. He is drawn to her like he has never been to any woman before. As he goes to introduce himself to her she is called upon by someone else and by the time he turns goes back to where was she is gone. As he is dying to find out who she is his friends Colton and Zebe warns him its the captain of their firehouse daughter and she is off limits. So begins this story where both individuals were a little leary of one another. Rory being concerned that her father will not be happy since he has forbade her to ever date a firefighter and Finn who wonders if he can be consistent with one woman. As time goes by Rory eventually agrees to go on a date with him and before they know it they are dating for three months unbeknownst to her mom and dad and she wonders how she will ever especially tells her father. There was alot great scenes in the boo lots of comedy relief . Finn bleeding and Rory wanting to gag. The adventures of the firehouse dog Flash and how he terrorizes Finns apartment and Finn himself. It was great to see Preston and Harmony and the rest of the Ward gang and some new faces like Regina a fling of Finn who his neighbor and now friends with him and becomes friends with Rory. This title is a wonderful addition to the the series. The author's descriptiveness of Boston makes you feel like you are right there. I would have loved an epilogue and to find out if Rory ever reconcile with her father.

First off, I lived Searching for Harmony so much that I was thrilled to read Finn's story.

Fighting for Love is a story that evokes all kinds of emotions while reading; determination to keep reading and fighting sleep to name one.

Finn is the typical studly bachelor who merely needs to flash his teeth to have the women swooning. He is hotter than the 5 alarm fires he fights. So what better for the big, bad, sexy firefighter than to have a gorgeous, smart, funny woman bring him to his knees.

Rory is a workaholic having joined her mother's law firm fresh from Harvard law school. Having to impress others in even the ordinary circumstances, Rory works hard to prove she is more than the boss's daughter. When she lays eyes on Finn she is spellbound.

So what's the problem is these two young, attractive and successful people are in to each other. WELL, first off all, Rory's dad is the captain at Finn's unit. He does not want his daughter dating a firefighter she seems even more against Finn than any other man. Second, Finn has a reputation of a ladies man and he couldn't possibly be falling for only one woman. Then the risky job, Rory has do first hand what her mother went through having a firefighter husband and attended too many funerals of men gone too soon.

Rory and Finn soon find they can't do anything but be together. There is a strong pull that draws them together. It's actually such a romantic notion that readers will LOVE.

Let's not forget Flash. He's the Dalmatian puppy the fire unit take in, but Captain Adams seems to think would be a great punishment for Finn in taking him home to train. Backfire- the puppy brings Finn and Rory together. Flash is an absolute menace.

Rory is facing trials at her workplace and Finn is in egg shells thinking the Captain knows he I seeing his daughter. Meanwhile, the Captain gives a disgusting ultimatum to, of all people, his own daughter. This arc breaks your heart for a daughter who was controlled her whole life and only wants love and acceptance to parents she has lived unconditionally.

Fighting for Love is a true fight to the finish line for Rory and Finn, but oh how sweet when they cross it.

There are so many funny things in this book that I feel in love with. Harmony and Preston have their baby and that was hysterical. The Ward family is precious and welcoming. They have taken in two women who needed the warmth, unconditional love and acceptance.

Anxiously awaiting the next of this series.

Finn loved his life firefighter by day playboy at night his life couldn't get any better until he was sat in a meeting and he saw her
He couldn't take his eyes of her something strange happened in that moment that would change his wayward ways.

Then there was her dad no one was ever going to be good enough in her fathers eyes, until one day sat in a meeting she kept steeling glances at a sexy man she couldn't help but feel the attraction pulling bettween them she had to know who this man was she had to have him and have she would

Would Flynn and Rory be able to stay together or will her father distroys the one thing Rory only ever loved.
