This is part of a series, several books in, which may be why I was a little confused at times. Not enough to stop reading, but do feel reading others first would help. Kenzie has a horse ranch, and is being targeted by a group that want to use her for study. This part, about the creepy group, is where reading others would help. I did enjoy it, but felt it best to just go with the flow about the "special" connections and abilities each had. Interesting, and would recommend.
Kenzie was sleeping when she heard her horse Boone scream out in pain and Dakota- Kenzie’s doberman- jumped off the bed to try to get to Boone. Kenzie put the lead on Dakota but left him at the fence. Then Kenzie found someone had shot Boone and she couldn’t get a hold her vet as he was out of town and the other vet was too far away so Kenzie called Victory Winters and Victory agreed to come right over as quick as she could. Kenzie’s vet had given her Victory’s number to use in time of an emergency. Tristan and Wyatt were part of a Special Operations Command - SOCOM for short. Since the Winters sisters became involved in government contracts and DNA research the sisters were threatened enough to get special ops protection. Victory was married to Tristan and her sister was with Wyatt. Willow could telepathically communicate with with animals. Victory stitched up Boone and bandaged him and told Kenzie her and Boone had an agreement that Boone stay lying down and rest. Kenzie called Logan the next night as she heard someone by her window and Logan checked it out and and it was true. Then Kenzie found out her brother Marcus wasn’t dead but had been raised by Dr. Ryker once their parents had abandoned him. Marcus told Logan and Kenzie he used to have a roommate named Reese who was obsessed with Kenzie and Marcus had been trying to protect her from Reese and that G P was interested in Kenzie. Logan moved in with Kenzie to try to protect her and they start to care about each other. And then they find out they are true soul mates.
Another excellent story from the Winter Sisters series and I loved reading this. The sisters are so close but also so caring for the people they work with or need their help. I loved how Victory immediately went to help Kenzie. I also loved how Logan started out as being there as a job but built until Kenzie and Logan find they are true soul mates. I loved how even though Marcus had led a very messed up life he is still very protective of Kenzie and will do whatever he can to keep her safe. I loved the plot and the pace of this story. I loved the action. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this story and I highly recommend.
Oh holy crap. That was a good one. I have some definate thoughts on what could happen next, but I might slip a spoiler.
In this book Victory is called out to the neighboring farm, to treat a horse that has been shot. Logan escorts her over and is struck by the beauty of the owner Kenzie. After treating the horse they find Kenzie’s home trashed. Victory and Logan are on auto pilot thinking that the KG are involved. But what do they want with her? Wyatt assigns Logan to body guard duty. Can Victory and the gang find out what the KG wants with Kenzie? Or will they run out of time and Kenzie will slip through their fingers?
This story is moving right along at a steady pace. There are so many twists and turns. The KG are such a sick twisted group. I hope that the Winter Sisters and their merry gang can put a stop to them. I was really hoping to hear more in this book on the dead twin sisters. I really had all kinds of conspiracy theories on the subject. The ending of course leaves you saying WTF are they going to do next. I am hooked I say hooked. You can definately count on an action adventure ride with this series. Never a dull moment. I almost cried in this one. Kenzie is such a sweeet, caring pure soul. Noah is a bleeding heart for his friends. I love the puppies. They are so smart and loyal. Ok Joanne Jaytanie, get to writing. I am in demand of wanting to know what is next. So chop chop hurry.
This was a great weekend read! Kenzie and Logan's story was a nice move from the actual campus to the neighboring ranch. Loved catching up with Payton, Victory and Willow. Everyone continues to evolve. Nice twist with Marcus and Kenzie. The bad guys just keep getting nastier, and the sisters are getting more savvy and smarter. Great series.
