I loved Part one in this series and I think I might've loved part 2 even more.
Who doesn't love a good book about Vets, it might've started about the animals, it ended on the vets!
Thank you to Ebury Publishing for my copy of this book via Netgalley. As soon as I finished Part 1 I was eager to start part 2.
The story continues right where part 1 left off with Sam telling Adam the big news. Adam reacts exactly as expected and it will be no surprise to readers that Sam doesn’t stay in London. While everyone thinks she’s making a mistake Sam knows n her heart that there’s nowhere else she should be but at her Nana’s.
This part of the story gives us a little more on Sam as well as the villagers in her new home. The story focuses a little bit on loneliness and I think it is important to highlight how this affects lots of different people.
This isn’t a story that will have you on the edge of your seat throughout. It’s classic chicklit and and I love it.
This short story can easily be read in one sitting. It’s perfect for a chilled out weekend afternoon.
I read this serialised book all in one go in the end and I really enjoyed this light hearted read. Is great for fans of Cathy Woodman and Cathy Bramley. I am looking forward to further instalments set in Hope Green in the future in order to see the developments of some of the characters in this series.
This is part two of what's promising to be a very enjoyable series.
Sheila has created a wonderful character in Sam which you want to read more about and of course the wonderful village called Hope Green that her Nana lives in sounds ideal and somewhere where we would all like to live. Part two has Sam still working in the vets in London but wanting more out of life and she finds she is pregnant with Adam's baby.
Sheila takes you on the next chapter of Sam's story and it is every bit as enjoyable as part one.
Enjoyed this second installment. Looking forward to reading how the story progresses.
Brilliant book! The second part is as good as the first part! I really enjoy this series so far. Lovely atmosphere, lovely characters. As the story is divided into several parts, it gives a lot of suspense to it and I really like that! I can't wait to see what happens next!
The story is way too short although nice.
It would be a total con if I had purchased this.
I really enjoyed reading about the latest developments in Sam's life and found the characters to be coming to life very well. They are mostly likeable, with the obvious exception of Adam! I even feel that there is a lot more to Joe, and a much softer side (even with humans!) than we've been allowed to see so far.
This instalment ended on a cliffhanger so I'm very glad to have the next part reading ready & waiting so that I can continue reading straight away. I just hope I don't have long to wait after that for the final part!
This book reminded me of serials I used to enjoy is weekly magazines many years ago/ Despite technology etc it still feels more like that era .
Sam is a city worker yearning for the country and seizes the opportunity to visit her granny as often as she can, Circumstances conspire for her to move in with the old lady. She too is like something from a long ago type of old lady, yet she doesn't know the first hing about caring for pets it would seem, however Sam is on hand to educate her. But isn't so savvy she can tell when someone falls in love with her etc.
There are lots of sensible messages like get your pet micro-chipped and beware of lethal pollen from lilies if a cat is likely to be in contact with it.
It's quite a pleasant story with a very annoying central character.
Having read the first part of this novel, I was looking forward to reading the next part. I could not wait to find out what the characters were going to do next. In Part Two, Sam has to decide what she wants to do about her relationship and about other personal matters.
I enjoyed the second part of this series. I was glad when Sam finally made her choice about Adam, and that she decided to move to Hope Green to be with her Nana. Joe Bradley is still a mystery to me, and I wonder if there is a love triangle hinted at between Sam, Joe and David. I am looking forward to reading Part Three.
Thank you to the publisher, Sheila Norton and NetGalley for the complimentary copy.
This is the second 'Hope Green' book. I've read and the comments I made for the first are still relevant. It is difficult to review as it just seems to be getting started when it's over. It is an enjoyable story but disjointed because of its episodic publishing. I think it's a bit of an odd way to market a book- although I suppose it means thay sell four books instead of one. Again I gave it three stars, not because I didn't enjoy it but because I felt I hadn't had enough to give it any more. It left me feeling very unsatisfied.
Thanks to Netgalley & the publisher for letting me read it
In this second instalment Sam decides to leave London and move in with her grandmother, preferring sleepy village life as an environment to bring up the baby she is expecting in. She takes a job as receptionist with the grumpy but gorgeous local vet and starts to settle down but this 'episode' ends on a cliffhanger - is Sam still pregnant or is she losing the baby that she has only just realised she desperately wants?
Unfortunately I've realised I don't enjoy this episodic way of reading a story, it feels too 'bitty' and disjointed to me. It is an undemanding read however and I do want to find out what happens to Sam and her grandmother.
This was another fantastic installment in the Vets at Hope Green books! It will be released as a full book in June, if anybody wanted to know, as far as I'm aware at least!
Part two: Follow your heart, was a wonderful continuation of Sam's story as she comes to terms with the struggle she will face looking after her baby. At the same time, she decides to "follow her heart", as the title suggests, to do what feels right for her and her baby (as well as for Nana and little Ebony too).
I ended up really connecting with Sam even more as I read on and just wanted everything to go well for her.
All of a sudden it was the end and I just hope everything isn't what it seems!!
Nana was great again! It was horrible seeing her so depressed early on in this part, but she was soon giving her "I'm just your nan, I'm saying nothing" advice.
I liked that we got more of the village characters being drawn into the main story. I really like David and his enthusiasm for life! Just what Sam needs, I think.
The story developed further and did so really well! I'm fully invested in this series/book (if I wasn't already by the first one) and I can't wait to read part three, especially with the cliff hanger we were left with!
I've not found anything I disliked about this book and highly recommend those who started the first book to please, please, carry on! It gets even better.
This was an outstanding follow on to Part one. It held my attention and I loved seeing how the characters developed over the course of the book.
Thank you to Netgalley and the Publishers for this review copy.
We pick up the story of Sam in Part 2 of The Vets at Hope Green. This is the 2nd part of a 4 part book (if you like to read the story all in one go, the main book with all 4 parts together is released later in the year). I have before that I don’t really like books being released as separate parts initially, but it does seem to be the way a lot of authors are going.
Anyway, we come back to Sam. The story picks up straight away from the end of Part 1. Sam has been visiting her grandmother’s while she tries and sorts her head over her expected news. She comes back home to London to see if her and her boyfriend, Adam have any future together. Sam feels that she wants to try something new and the news of a receptionist job in the Vet’s Surgery near her grandmother’s is tempting her. The only problem is can she work with grumpy vet Joe? She decides to test the water by visiting her grandmother and taking down a new edition to family…a little black kitten called Ebony.
I was looking forward to the next part of this book as I enjoyed part 1. It’s a nice easy story to read and you feel yourself getting into all the characters straight away. It’s been a while since I read part 1, but it was like it was only yesterday and I remembered the previous story straight away. I love how this story is unfolding. There is so much going on, but it’s not confusing or complicated at all. I love the character of Sam and you just hope that there turns out to be a happy ending for her (which I’m sure there will be!). I also love Joe the Vet! Even though he’s just the grumpiest man you could ever meet, you just know that’s there something else going on there which is going to all come tumbling out!!
Already have Part 3 waiting in the wings, but it will drive me crazy after that having to wait for part 4!

This is the second installment and I am really enjoying the story, the different characters, the setting, pretty much the whole lot actually! Really looking forward to the next part of the story and to see where Sam's story is going to go.
This is part two of a four part series (although I understand the four parts are being published as one book this year, which will be great!).
When I read the description of this book, I knew that it was a "must read" for me and I wasn't disappointed. Anything to do with animals, village living and that type of thing, always appeals.
Poor Sam was in a bit of a pickle. She was living in London, working at a vets and enjoying it but things with her boyfriend were falling apart. Then there was her grandmother who lives in a village on her own after the loss of her beloved dog, and her parents who swan around the world and who can't really be relied up for emotional support. Emotional support which Sam could really do with as she gets a bit of news she isn't expecting.
Reading about the trials and tribulations of Sam's life was enjoyable and I really started to get to know the various characters. I think I know where the story is going but I hope I am surprised!
A recommended read from me :)
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. Thank you to NetGalley and Ebury Digital.
A great followup from part one. This has got to be one of my favourite stories I have read so far this year and I can't wait for the next part.
Thanks to netgalley and Ebury Digital for an Arc copy in exchange for an honest review.
I love these four part stories as they always end on a cliffhanger leaving you wanting more. In part one Sam had some big news and as a reader I was intrigued as to how she would handle the situation and how she would break the news to Adam. Sam's a great character and I liked her from the beginning. Her relationship with her Nan is beautiful and the loneliness that her Nan is feeling made me think of my Nan as after we lost Grandad she was lost without him. We helped but we couldn't always be there.
So in part two Sam moves to Hope Green yay I could see this happening from part one and I was so chuffed for her. So far it's changed her life and her Nan Peggy's.
As I previously stated I'm new to Sheila Norton's writing and I'm loving every second of The Vets at Hope Green. I must say part two ended on a worse cliffhanger than part one I'm eager to know what happens.
There's so many things I'm still eager to find out. There is so much more to Joe and I can't wait to see.
