Sam has decided to return to London and tell her boyfriend about being pregnant, he sadly is not really interested, she returns to work at the vets where a stray black cat has been bought in and she nurses it back to health. Her nan is lonely and depressed in Hope Green after her dog dies and Sam decides to take herself and the cat and move to Hope Green to stay with her nan.
This was a good second instalment where we see Sam and her nan bond with each other and the cat. Looking forward to the next one.
I loved the second book in the Vets at Hope Green series. Sam takes a black cat, Ebony to her nan's in the hope that she will fall in love with it and have something to focus on. She decides that she loves living with her nan and wants to leave London far behind.
We already feel involved with all the characters and it's lovely to catch up and discover more. Hope Green sounds like the sort of place where bruised hearts have the chance to heal and I'm looking forward to hearing more about the vet who seems to be the grumpiest character in the whole village.
It's always a delight to find a new author that you can't wait for the next book- and I was delighted to hear that the next book will be available very soon.
Another sweet and warm instalment of the Vets at Hope Green series. We learn just how cringe inducing current Beau Adam is and Sam embarks on the brave step of taking on single parenthood, a new pet and a move to the country.
The men in her new life are just as confusing as the one she has left behind. Her new friend David, intrepid Dog walker has green fingers and evidently more than a passing interest in Sam. Then there is grumpy Vet extraordinaire Joe is still as changeable as the wind!
This is unadulterated cosy reading, perfect to snuggle up with a decent cup of something hot. The characters are rounder this time around and the story is becoming more interesting now Sam can start setting down roots, thoroughly enjoyed part two and cannot wait for parts three and four.
Read this in one sitting! Thoroughly enjoyed it and waiting for part 3.
Hey ForeverBookers,
I've just finished Part 2 of The Vets At Hope Green, which is subtitled "Follow Your Heart" and I really enjoyed it again. I got The Vets At Hope Green Part 2 from NetGalley so thank you NetGalley again!
The Vets At Hope Green is at the moment a series of 4 or 5 parts to a full novel. In summer 2017 it will be released as a full novel.
We still follow Sam, who decides to follow her heart and move in with her grandmother who lives in Hope Green. In Part 1, Sam went to visit her Grandmother during a rocky time with her boyfriend. At the beginning of Part 2, Sam and that boyfriend break up due to not wanting the same things in life. Sam's grandmother had losses of her own to deal with as well, in part 1. In London, Sam worked at a Vets. Before she leaves London, there's a cat that's brought in. Sam feels sorry for it and so takes it to her grandmother in the hopes that she'll look after it and be happier again. This seems to work.
New friendships are made and progress on a relationship for Sam. I don't want to spoil who the other person is. At the end of this part there's a cliffhanger, which I again don't want to spoil but I'm excited to read Part 3 soon.
I'm going to give part 2 4 stars. I didn't enjoy it quite as much as the first part but it still holds promise. With many book series' the second book isn't as good as the first, in my opinion anyway so I think of this like that.
Part 3 of this novel will release late February, I think.
This was another wonderful instalment in the new cosy romance series by Sheila Norton.
Once again we are welcomed back into Sam's life. Following her return back to London after a visit to the picturesque Hope Green, Dorset to see her nan Sam is resuming life back at the city vets. She's not sure where to go next with her relationship with Adam and she has to discuss some important details with him that will ultimately effect their futures.
Following a heart to heart with Adam, Sam reassesses her life and feels like the best place to ponder over her future is in Hope Green away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Sam takes an unexpected guest with her to her nan's, a stray black kitten that had been taken in at the city vets. Sam has taken a shine with the little cat and has spent a lot of time with her to aid her recovery. Sam is hoping the little stray will bring a smile back to her nan who sadly lost her beloved dog a few weeks back.
We follow Sam on her contemplative journey back to Hope Green with this little bundle of fur. Sam has to make decisions about her future. Hope Green makes Sam feel instantly comfortable and at home and the locals welcome her with open arms apart from the grumpy local vet.
This story is so likeable with it's idyllic setting and characters that are relatable. There is some hidden depths to the personalities of a few of the characters that leave you wanting to learn more about them. Sheila Norton has managed to wrap this series around my heart. She gives you a cliffhanger at the end of each part leaving you with the anticipated need to grasp the next instalment. A delightful series that I am looking forward to reading each and every part.
Back in London, Sam realises that life is not for her there. Her boyfriend is less than supporting and she realises how much she misses the countryside and the love that her Nana gives her, so unconditionally,.
Trouble is her Nana seems to have not been herself.
Step forward Sam and a little stray cat called Ebony. Sam has an idea which will solve not just some of her problems but her Nana's as well.
However she has to encounter Joe again in and it seems that her skills as a receptionist could well be put to good use, for a while anyway as Sam has left London with something else not just a little black cat.
The Vets At Hope Green part 2 by Sheila Norton continues the tale of Sam, a young woman living in London but dreaming of village life. Again, just seven chapters that leaves the reader hanging on for the next part. Sheila Norton's engaging style really speaks to my heart.
The residents of Hope Green are wonderfully portrayed - all unique - from single mums to grumpy vets to gossiping neighbours to caring grandmothers - a fabulous glimpse into village life. My heart wants to move there!
As a crazy cat lady, I lost my heart to a small black kitten. Sheila Norton really knows cats as she had captured not only my heart but the personality of a kitten.
The Vets At Hope Green is perfect escapism whatever the weather outside. It is delightfully written and I cannot get enough of it! Roll on part three.
I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.
This second instalment (80 pages) of Sheila Norton's feel-good series 'The Vets at Hope Green' has pregnant veterinary receptionist Sam making life-changing decisions: a move to the country, a new job, a new pet, new friends. The story ends with a cliff-hanger, part three is going to be published in a few weeks' time.
I've just finished this second book in the Vets at Hope Green series and it has certainly left me wanting more! Lovely quick reads. Heartwarming.
I have read the first book, and couldn't wait for the 2nd book, and I wasn't disappointed,Sam is pregnant and moved from London to live with her grandma in the country after her breakup with her boyfriend, this book is a must read,I received it today and couldn't put it down till I finished it,I can't wait for the 3rd book, the book is so enjoyable it makes you feel like you are there,I'm sure if you read them you will love them just like I do,would love to live in a place like Sam and her grandma.
How lovely it was to get back to see how Sam was getting on after leaving her so utterly Stunned at the church. Well she had retreated back to the hustle and bustle of London and the townie boyfriend that I just wanted to keep at arms length. This obnoxious, I love me best, man made my blood boil. But it isn't long before Sam is heading back to see Nana, armed with a secret weapon to help pull her out of the deep depression she is going through, after losing her beautiful companion Rufus.
I adore how this series is already unfolding, there is so much going on and yet it is not at all complicated, well I suppose if you were Sam you would say it was complicated, because boy she is leading a busy life.
First there is Adam from London the obnoxious one. (Don't go there Sam)
Then there is kind David with his love of animals and caring way. (yep nice and sweet, Next!)
Joe is Rude, arrogant and someone to fluster Sam until she makes choices almost out of defiance when he speaks to her, (just a moment I feel a swoon coming on, me not her) so yes a complicated life for Sam. And pure enjoyment for anyone reading this book.
I find myself constantly giggling away, and not quietly when I am reading this book, it really is such a joy to relax with. I love how this little village is becoming more colourful in my mind with each page that I turned, the characters fuller each with their quirky little ways that a small village creates with its residents.
I am so looking forward to part 3 of this super series and wish to thank NetGalley and the publisher for an Arc of this book , which I have chosen to review.
This is Part 2 of a new series so stop reading now if you haven’t yet read part 1. You need to and it’s worth it!
In this episode Sam decides to follow her heart, leaving city life and her unsupportive boyfriend (putting it mildly) behind her. She heads to Dorset along with an adorable new character (who gets her paws under nana’s table very quickly). Nana shrewdly guesses why Sam is back in Hope Green and before long Sam is feeling at home.
David the dog-walker is fast becoming a friend, but is that all he wants to be? He is cheery, handsome and uncomplicated. However Joe the vet is as abrasive as ever despite having a kind and gentle manner with animals and it seems their paths are fated to keep crossing….
This is a sweet, gently paced story that I could imagine on TV on a Sunday night. Maybe I am thinking of All creatures great and small! Sheila Norton is good at capturing the charm of animals, a highlight of her stories. The only downside was it ended so quickly, as I was really enjoying it!
Loved this second part just as much as the first. Eekkk left on a cliffhanger can't wait for the next instalment to find out what happens next for Sam.
The second in a cute, cozy and lighthearted series. Sheila Norton does a great job with character development and Hope Green sounds like a lovely village.
I look forward to reading the rest of this series. Each book is more like a novella so they are quick reads.
