I enjoyed the book it's a good start and has a good story line I liked the characters but I felt they were lacking depth and emotions. But I think these things can be fixed with time and more books.
This was an okay read for me. Fast paced with some steamy scenes. This was more about the emotional journey of Eliza.
2.5 Stars
This book was like on fast forward during the whole thing. It didn't have much emotion or depth to either the characters or the plot.
I think it had potential but fell short.
There wasn't much background to the story and there wasn't much that led up to anything. It was very blunt and short read.
Thanks NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for a fair review.
Enjoyed this read. It was an okay book. Wanted more from this.
The blurb for this book really appealed to me, I thought for sure it was going to give me a case of the feels! Sadly it fell short on all levels for me.
I did not like this book. The flow of the story felt very choppy, chapter breaks were after each scene break it felt like. The characters were not fleshed out enough, I felt like you had seen Mark twice and suddenly there was this big revelation of love?
The sex scenes while very descriptive, were very out of place in this story. It almost felt like they were placed in to meet a quota of them.
Beautiful story ,the depth you gave the characters, I loved Eliza and mark
Wish I could say that I enjoyed this book but unfortunately the characters, especially the male characters, lacked any depth or background. The love scenes were also lacking. They were graphic without being sexy and there was no emotionally connection. Eliza had a supportive family and a rotten husband. I have no idea what to think about Mark. Other than his relationship to Eliza’s spa guru Brent and that he was a landscaper I really didn’t feel like I knew who he was. The storyline had potential but it lacked emotional depth and the characters were one dimensional. Also thought it beyond odd that Eliza felt comfortable stripping in front of her family to reveal her scars. Felt weird and not at all cathartic as I’m sure it was meant. I feel badly for leaving this poor review as I’ve never done that before but feel that the storyline needs more depth to be appreciated.
Eliza is trying desperately escape from her abusive marriage.
She calls her father for desperate plea to save her and her boys from her husband. When she leaves with her children, and her brother delivers a divorce paper, he blows himself up. Finally she is free and head north Carolina with her family.
She is finally home after so many years. She hasn’t been taking care of herself so her mother sends her to luxury Spa treatment for her daughter. She is slowly finding herself through this treatment and finds her way back to her friend.
Eliza bottled up all her feeling inside her and it seems to be PTSD. She finally meets someone but she doesn’t know if he will be the right one??? Will she ever fall in love with right person. Will she find her love?
Story is short but a bit too short and seems rushed at the end.
What an exceptional romance by Ms. Rollins. So enjoyed it. Excellent writing and story-telling.
Great book about overcoming the past and making a new future. The characters are realistic and identifiable. I enjoyed this book and would read more from this author
This wasn't the story I was expecting, it was a little different. This story hit a chord within me, in a time I needed to hear some things, and it made me connect more to the story. This was a quick, enjoyable read.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
