Jennifer Snow is an author whose books I've enjoyed over the years and I can never patiently wait to see what her new releases are since she's one of my go to authors for contemporary romance. I need to read the two novellas I've missed in this series, Maybe This Kiss and Maybe This Summer .

Maybe This Love was a nice continuation from the first book in the series, Maybe This Time . I was immediately immersed with characters we've met before and the Colorado Ice professional hockey team. The story flowed nicely with a few twists and turns and Ben's family getting their digs in as much as they can. Olivia and Ben have chemistry from the moment they unexpectedly meet in the parking lot at her law office. He doesn't know that she's about to change his life in more way than one! The angst was cooled by their playfulness even if it wasn't professional. Olivia is on a roller coaster ride of her own choosing but things don't always work out the way she expects them to. Ben has to get his head back in the game before there are dire consequences to deal with.

There are family and friends, the hockey team and the fans, sadness, anger, hurt, tears, happiness, laughter, romance, loving and love. Olivia and Ben seem all wrong for each other but are they? They often seem to give peace to the other just when they need it. That doesn't mean that there aren't lots of other times that peace would be just what the doctor ordered. There was some closure but the book ended too abruptly. An epilogue or a chapter set sometime in the future would have been a nice touch. There was a happily-ever-after in the offing and I can't wait to be reunited with everyone once again in the fall. I look forward to reading book three in this series, Maybe This Christmas , which will be out in September.

I have slowly fallen in love with this series, revolving around about the only sport I enjoy watching, and I am enjoying getting to know each of these couples and their friends and family as well. Set mostly in the small town of Glenwood Falls, Colorado, this town seems to be filled with hockey royalty, sexy as hell athletes and sensual and loving women that can steal their hearts. We watched Ben’s younger brother Jackson fall in love in the previous novel and now Ben finds himself in the most crucial time of his life and unprepared for the woman that comes into it. I really enjoyed this story, even if I was a bit standoffish on the premise to begin with, mainly due to the way that Olivia comes to know Ben, but Jennifer handles it so smoothly and with enough honor that I don’t find myself having an issue with it after all. Ben is a good guy that has had some shitty moments in his past which left him guarded and scared to fall in love. The pull he feels to Olivia terrifies him, but it’s so strong and rare that he knows he can’t resist it, so when his divorce finally goes through there is nothing to stop him from going after the woman that has clouded his mind and intrigued his heart from the first time he laid eyes on her. Olivia knows what she wants out of life and will go for those things, even if she has to use an unusual method. Just when she has given up hope of finding a man to truly love her, Ben crashes into her life and there is no way she can deny the pull she feels. But he is just the type of egocentric player that she has always avoided…except he’s a lot more than just ego and flirt after all. It was fascinating to see these two circling one another as adversaries and then when they are free finally giving in to the draw between them, making magic and showing one another the true measure of themselves. Ben was definitely an alpha male, but underneath he is everything we all look for in a man—sweet, loving to his family, honorable, strong, brave and willing to fight for what he wants. I loved getting to see him courting Olivia and showing her that there was more to him than she originally thought. Olivia is a woman that knows what she wants, and I respect that, even if I don’t truly get the baby craziness. But, that said, I could see that Olivia was a woman I could be friends with quite easily. Her intelligence, sass, sweetness, and vulnerability make her the perfect collection of opposites and give her the depth and range that all heroines a good romance should have. I was thrilled that they finally found a way to overcome their pasts and hang-ups and share their love, but I was kind of disappointed by the ending. Thankfully I know another book is already out and I look forward to seeing the relationship between Ben and Olivia bloom in the coming stories, as well as seeing Ash find his love along with anyone else Jennifer throws into the mix. A fun, sweet, and enjoyable read with the emotional traumas that make our everyday lives such a challenge, Maybe This Love is the type of story that everyone should read at least once so they can learn more about themselves in order to share their lives and love.

As sports/hockey stories go, the writing and characters are definitely ones I'll remember. From the onset, I found myself immersed in hockey and romance. Combining a hot pro athlete and a strong independent woman, together brings explosive chemistry and passion to an already perfect sports story. The hockey play was realism at is best...the author created the perfect environment, making it seem as if you were right there ringwide for the winning game for the Stanley Cup...that was some exceptional edge of your seat and tense writing that brought the play right into my mind's eye.

Since this is the first book in the series I've read, and now feeling fully invested in the characters, I'm now going to need to read the first one and a half books to catch up. I will definitely be reading the remaining books in the series.

This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher and NetGalley. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

This book was just that good that I barely have words for how I feel about it. The only thing that would have made it better is if I would have read book one first. I obviously can't wait for book three. This one had all the feels. Great job Snow!

This book was so good. I can't wait until the next one comes out and I will be buying the first one.

This book made me laugh and cry all at the same time. I loved how independent Olivia was, and how Ben is actually just a huge teddy bear. They are the 2 most unlikely people to fall in love, but yet....

This is a fast and excellent read but I recommend that you read it when you have lots of time because you will not want to put it down.

Thank you to Netgalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for allowing me to read this book for an honest review.

I loved this story by Jennifer Snow! I'm really enjoying this series!
Ben Westmore had everything at stake when he finds out that he's married and to a woman that he doesn't even remember let alone the wedding ceremony itself. How the heck did that even happen?
Ending this sham of a marriage is the main priority in his life after taking his team to the playoffs and hopefully winning the Stanley Cup. He didn't need the added stress in his life right now.
Olivia Davis wanted marriage and children, but right now she didn't have a man in her life and her eggs weren't getting any younger so seeing a fertility specialist was her best option. When she meets her client's soon-to-be ex-husband she doesn't expect there to be an attraction, but there is and he is just the type of guy she had sworn off years ago. What made him any different from any other guy? She just needed to get through her client's divorce and move on, but her heart had other ideas.

In this book hockey player Ben Westmore, who is also a player off the ice thinks it is a joke as he is looking at a marriage certificate. It has to be, but no he is told by is lawyer agent that what he is looking at is real. That his trip to Vegas that was for a hockey game he also got married. Now he has a meeting with her attorney to come to terms to end the marriage. Olivia Davis has decided that since she has no man in her life and none in the forcible future it is time to take matters in her own hands and goes to a fertility clinic before starting the case for her new client who is divorcing a hockey player. Her problem comes in that she was not expecting Ben Westmore to be so agreeable to all of the terms, and does he need to be charming as well, and there is that big problem of being good looking and for some reason she is feeling attracted to him. Now she feels that her career is in jeopardy. She decides that he is just putting on some kind of charm to try to get out of paying whatever it is he needs to. He then does the unthinkable and goes full penalty kill mode to let her know that he is a different man and that he wants to be with her and only her. Once she finds out more about her client and what really happened and yet he is still willing to help her and her son she is becoming more, and more taken by Ben. Will she though finally get the big hockey guy or will she let him walk? Read this fun fast paced book.

Maybe This Love, is the second full length title in the Colorado Ice Series, but can easily be read as a standalone. This was my first time reading anything written by Jennifer Snow, and it will not be my last.

Maybe This Love revolves around the budding relationship of Ben Westmore, an NHL hockey player and Olivia Davis, a successful divorce attorney. Ben is clear with an woman that he spends time with, not to have expectations, but one night of drinking leads to an error in judgement that will alter his future.

Olivia is a smart, strong, confident and driven and highly successful, career orientated woman.

The chemistry is intense between this pair, yet their connection is forbidden.

I adored the secondary characters of Ben's family, and look forward to his siblings finding their happy ever afters in future titles.

Overall this story is a heartwarming romance, with fun, flirty and playful banter. The twists and turns in the story line, made what could have been a predictable story line quite entertaining and engaging. I am quite a fan of a sports romance, in particular hockey themed romance, and will look forward to reading additional titles in this series.

I didn’t think I would love Ben as much as I did just based on the way he was in the previous books, but man, he won me over pretty quick. And Olivia! I love her. They have crazy chemistry but had to work for their HEA. They earned it and it was adorable.

Maybe This Love is a charming and entertaining story which had me so engaged that I read the whole book in one day. I just could not stop; it was that good. The writing was engaging, characters vibrant and relatable and who doesn’t love a story about the Stanley Cup finals, eh!

This second book in the Colorado Ice series begins just before the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs begin. Ben Westmore (captain of the Colorado Avalanche hockey team) is preparing for the series of his life. It is actually his third run at the cup and he must bring it home this time as he may not have another chance. Ben is a playboy off the ice and his actions this past New Year’s Eve have come back to haunt him. New Year’s Eve his ex-girlfriend (Janelle) gets engaged on television (Ben proposed to Janelle previously but she chose work over Ben). In an effort to forget, Ben gets drunk, hooks up with a woman he does not know (Kristina Sullivan) and gets married. Now to get himself out of this pickle.

Olivia Davis is opposing counsel in the divorce proceedings against Ben Westmore. Olivia has slowly built a reputation for getting the job done for her clients, with the professional athlete dead-beat soon-to-be ex-husband usually paying big time. Olivia is also a single, 36-year-old woman with a goal of becoming a mother, having a baby. Unfortunately, “her passion for her career as a top divorce attorney had left little time for her to have on the traditional way.” She feels that time is running out and she has not met her “Mr. Perfect”. So, Olivia is starting the process of having a family. While she lives in Denver, she travels to Glenwood Falls where the fertility treatment center is located.

What was predictable was that Ben and Olivia would be attracted to each other. After all, being attracted to your clients soon to be ex-husband certainly would be inconvenient (and a possible conflict of interest?). And speaking of inconvenient, this is NOT the time when Ben should be intrigued by a woman….he has a Stanley Cup to bring home after all. He does not need his focus elsewhere.

I do love the way Ben stepped up and wanted to be there for Olivia in her quest for a family of her own. Though I suspect, he would have rather worked through the process the traditional way as opposed to in-vitro. Ben buying a jersey was so sweet and of course, picking up the dress Olivia had purchased from Ben’s sister’s newly opened store and then delivering both to Olivia was so heartfelt.

There are many missteps throughout this budding, forbidden (for a time) relationship. Some hilarious and some very relatable. As Ben and Olivia work towards each other, I had hope that it would work out. I still believe that every good relationship is founded on trust and honesty. So when full disclosure is not forthcoming, you just know there will be a blip in the relationship. Hopefully they can work through it?

The cast of supporting characters are plentiful and not without their own quirky qualities that make you love them! I loved Ben’s mom, Beverly Westmore. She is definitely a pistol who speaks her own mind. The instant bond and camaraderie with Olivia at the fundraising dinner for the Colorado Center for Children was priceless.

When the relationship ran into difficulties, Ben pulled at my heartstrings while he was trying to win back Olivia:

“Please. Give me a chance to prove that I can be the person you believed I was and a good father to this child, a good husband to you.”

“You’re the first woman to be in here…but even if you weren’t, you’d still be far more beautiful than even my best dreams.” Her forehead wrinkled. “You’ve never had anyone else in here?” “No.” He and Janelle had shared one of the other bedrooms in the house, but not this one, not this bed. This was his bedroom, the one he’d moved into after Janelle left. And he’d never brought another woman back to his place before. It was too personal, too committal. Yet, he hadn’t thought twice about bringing Olivia there.”

In contrast to many romances I have read, this novel seemed to have added depth, which really added to my enjoyment of the book. And let us not forget the hunky hockey players…that never hurts as well!

Having now read and been captivated by Maybe This Love, in the Colorado Ice series by Jennifer Snow, I can hardly wait for the next book in the series, Maybe This Summer.

Loved the premise. The "wife" sure did change her story quickly and randomly, and I felt liek we could have gotten a lot more mileage out of that subplot. Olivia was a very admirable and interesting heroine, and I liked her very much.

Review:
Maybe This Love was a quick read for me. Though, I have mix feelings about this book. This is the first book I have read by this author and the blurb intrigued me. The storyline is different, one I particularly haven’t read yet so it’s not the usual romance. Jennifer’s writing will keep you going until the end. While reading I wanted to know what would happen in the end, it’s what pushed me through. However, there were some parts while reading where the characters thoughts got lost in translation to me. It was some of these parts where I skimmed through it. But then the storyline would capture me again. I only wished that it kept me intrigued the entire time instead of an up and down thing. The characters though, I kind of fell in love with.
Ben… sigh… there’s a lot to say about him. The famous hockey player trying to get to his end goal who gets derailed by a lapse of judgement. Ben is everyone woman’s fantasy. He’s hot, athletic, smart and has a big heart of gold. You can’t help but fall for him yourself.
In walks in Olivia. Their first meeting is due to some unusual circumstances. She was supposed to be the enemy. Olivia can screw up his career. But one meeting with her, you can instantly tell the chemistry between the two of them are off the charts. Olivia does as much as she can to act on this but it’s a hard feat to do. Especially with someone as charming as Ben.
Olivia has her own goals in mind and a meeting with Ben will not put them off. She has dedicated so many years to her job, now its time to start thinking about herself and what will make her happy. Starting a family is something she had always wanted but had never achieved. It’s now time to make that happen. Olivia is someone I admire because of her dedication, her strength and her ability to love once she is loved back.
I love the back and forth banter between Ben and Olivia. She seems to keep his cockiness in line. Someone no one has ever been able to achieve. Though Olivia has no interest in Ben and his playboy ways. She does not want to be another notch in his post. But little to Olivia’s knowledge Ben’s feeling towards women have changed and it is all because of her. Usually Ben can get any woman he wants, but this time he wants Olivia and she won’t give him the time of day. Ben can offer something she has been longing from another person and he can give it to her as long as she lets him in. He is very persistent when it comes to Olivia, one to never give up. He is one who always gets what he wants. And Olivia is it, along with the Stanley Cup. Can he do both without compromising the other?
I went and finished Ben and Olivia’s story in which I ended up loving. Once they break down each other’s walls, we see a different side to them both. A side that only comes out when they are together. But with their situation being so unusual, can they get through it? Together? Or will they be better apart? Will both their careers and differences be their demise?

I won't lie this book was a fun read. These two going back and forth was very entertaining. Ben's whole predicament was really quite inventive. I didn't really understand the WHY but it was still kept me entertained. I have enjoyed getting to know each sibling more and more with each installment and I can't wait for the next one. Ben was more than I expected and I loved him. Olivia was the perfect match for his charming self. She was strong enough to withstand some of his charm, but not all.
This is the second book in this series but it can be read on its own. I would definitely recommend this book and very much this series to any who love a great sports romance.

There is just something about reading a hockey romance during the Stanley Cup Finals that makes me giddy inside. Maybe This Love by Jennifer Snow has all of the makings for a quick, sweet read. Ben Westmore is the stereotypical professional jock. A skirt-chaser with an ego the size of California, Ben loves and leaves a trail of women behind wherever he goes. One New Year's Eve, drunk from drowning his sorrows, Ben has the crazy idea to get married. Unfortunately, the details of his marriage are a bit fuzzy. All he knows is that he wants a quickie divorce because being married was not in his plans.

Enter Olivia Davis. Smart, independent, beautiful, Olivia is also the attorney representing Ben's impulse bride. Olivia has reasons why she is THE attorney that pro sport wives use when they leave their jock husbands. Her career has been the focus of her life. Relationships, either casual or committed, have taken a backseat. That won't stop Olivia from having the one thing she has always wanted... a family. When Ben and Olivia meet, the sparks immediately start to fly. Ben wants Olivia. Olivia wants a family. How will they find common ground?

I enjoyed this book. My only complaint was with the sub-story of Ben's wife and their divorce. It was a little hard for me to believe, especially the ultimate outcome. That said, I would recommend Maybe This Love to anyone who enjoys hot hockey players and smart women!!

Oh! Maybe This Love is the second book in the Colorado Ice series, but can totally be read as a stand alone!

God how I wanted to love this book......I truly did. It had all the right moving pieces...hot hockey player, hot female lead, good twist....all the right pieces. But once the story starting going, those pieces just did not fit well together, for me anyway.

Olivia Davis is a lawyer, not just any lawyer though...she is one of the best around and she just got a case involving a famous hockey player who evidently had a wild night out a few months back and doesn't remember getting married to her new client she is representing. As if she doesn't have enough on her plate....you see she is in the process of invitro. Now, she does not have a husband. Nor a boyfriend...yep, she is single and feels she is getting too old and decides to have a child on her own.

Enter Ben Westmore....hot hockey god and new husband....so it seems. He remembers being drunk...really drunk and well that is about it. After his lawyer does some digging, he realizes what a mistake he made and goes to meet with the woman and her lawyer.

Naturally Olivia and Ben are instantly attracted to each other and both are finding it hard to stay away. I liked the story up to that point. It then got weird because Ben's new wife was someone from grade school that got picked on and she was basically blackmailing him to help her son play hockey...this storyline made no sense and I wasn't sure where it was going and at the same time Ben aka Mr. Committment Phobe was ga-ga over Olivia and her invitro/baby scenerio. It just didn't work for me. I wanted hot hockey player falls for lawyer her cant have but it just had these weird side stories that did not fit in at all and I felt took away from their potential hot story. The book kinda lost me at that point although I did finish it out of curiosity but was not what I thought it was going to be. :-(

Ben Westmore is a player in every sense of the word, and his success as the captain of his NHL team leaves him with no shortage of willing women to keep him company. He wasn't always so commitment- averse though; one woman broke his heart years ago and made him vow to avoid all serious relationships again afterward. When bitter memories of his past thrown in his face coupled with too much alcohol on one fateful night in Vegas, he soon finds out what happens in Sin City doesn't always stay there and he has to face the ramifications of his actions.

Olivia Davis is a woman with a plan: continue her successful career as a lawyer and build herself a family, with or without the assistance of a man. She has been on her own for far too long and she has a lot of love to give, so when she takes steps to put her plan into motion she is determined to make it a success. Sexy players who look like they stepped out of her imagination as her dream man personified have no place in her future, but dang he sure makes her want to change her mind!

Given Olivia's position as opposing counsel in his legal proceedings, fraternizing with the enemy so to speak could cost her everything. The more she tries to keep her distance, the harder he makes it though. It is easy to see that Ben is genuinely a good guy no matter how much she would rather vilify him. Then when she meets various members of his family, many of whom would love to play matchmaker, she finds herself falling just a bit deeper in spite of herself. She puts up a good fight but Ben has never been one to let anything stand in the way of pursuing what he wants so it is just a matter of time before he changes her mind.

Olivia may be torn between her well-planned out future and the alternate but appealing path Ben is offering her, but she is a very likable character who can easily hold her own in a man's world and who keeps Ben on his toes. For his part, Ben does pretty well in the romance department even though he is a bit rusty at it, and he is definitely a good guy with just enough edge to keep me interested. If you love a great slow burn romance with some serious UST, a minimal amount of angst and a little humor, then you definitely want to grab a copy of Maybe This Love!
