One of the worst versions of Harley... what a disappointment. Sexist, overly-sexualizing and fetishizing, jokes about sexual assault... no thanks!

Unfortunately, not really my cup of tea...

"Harley Quinn, Vol. 1: Die Laughing" recounts some new adventures of this particular (anti-)heroine.

While I usually like Harley, this comic was a collection of too violent, oversexualized and meaningless stories, not really connected to each other for the most part.

However, I realize that this might just be my deeply personal opinion and view of it.

I did not download this book on time so I cannot give an accurate review. Harley Quinn is one of my favorites, however, and looking at the cover I can tell that the artwork is superb.

Harley Quinn vs. a mini zombie apocalypse is an entertaining read. Fans of Amanda Conner's other Harley Quinn titles, as well as fans of dark humor will enjoy this trade. As this is the first Rebirth Harley Quinn title, it is a good point of entry for those who haven't read all of her previous titles. Jimmy Palmiotti's artwork is fantastic and the pace and action is page-turning and frenetic. Highly recommended.

Harley skips all the Rebirth baggage and kick the shit out of zombies. Ivy helps.

This book is stuck to my pull list under the label 'good, dumb fun and/or heartfelt' under such time as the current team breaks up.

Verdict: Get it.

Excellent as usual, puddin'! I love love love LOVE Connor and Palmiotti's take on Harley, and this volume doesn't disappoint. I hope they keep writing her for many, many more issues.

Unfortunately I could not read this graphic novel as it wouldn't load on any of my devices. My apologies and thank you very much for the opportunity.

I received an eARC copy of this title from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Well, for eye candy, Harley doesn't disappoint. The artwork overall is pretty great. The first story, "Die Laughing" is decent, with some good Harley humor chuckles. "108 Ways to Die" was pretty meh, and the final three parts "Undercover Punker" were pretty awful.

All in all, I think I'm about Harley'd out. Still love the girl, but I might have become overexposed at this point.

Maybe a break is in order.

Die Laughing has two story arcs. The first story concerns a zombie outbreak caused by an alien inserted into the food supply that causes a zombie outbreak on Coney Island. During the course of the outbreak, Red Tool was disarmed by Harley Quinn which keeps having future consequences. The second story involves, punk music, knights on black horses robbing the mail, Arkham memories, and a super-her0/super-villain fetish club. Need I say more? Enjoy at your own risk

Positive reviews for Harley Quinn tout its silliness, humor, and fun, but this book is basically an excuse to throw around shower scenes, gratuitous violence, and sex jokes. Silly? Yes, but not in a good way. Funny? Not really. Fun? Not a chance. It's a slog to get through all the jokes that don't land and power through the manic energy of Harley and her friends. Better versions of Harley appeared in Batman: The Animated Series and Gotham City Sirens.

One of DC's worst books carries on where it left off (Rebirth? what Rebirth?) and is just as bad, with an awful level of over-wordiness, and – worse – a quipping, punning script the likes of which we thought safely left behind in the 70s kids' pages. There's silly, and there's stupid, and there're people who can't for the life of them tell the difference.

ARC from Netgalley.
WOW! Such a dense and meaty Volume to start off Harley's Rebirth run. Still amazing and hilarious, with wonderful, consistent art. May Connor and Palmiotti write Harley Quinn forever!
Starting off with a recap of the highlights of her adventures in New 52, we then dive right into absurdity with an alien being chopped into bits and added to a batch of hot dogs, which causes anyone who eats it to turn into a zombie. Let the carnage begin, aided by girlfriend Poison Ivy! A bite from a zombie causes Harley to chop off Red Tool's arm (completely unnecessarily LOL) only to have it be replaced by the right arm of a convicted creepy stalker... I love all the adult humor in these!
Zombie threat stopped, Harley heads off to Mumbai to stop a corporation who are harassing the elderly with annoying calls. Taking out a call center, a giant mech, and a Russian mobster? Problem solved.
When an armored suited gang commits a robbery and takes out Harley's favorite mailman, she goes undercover as a punk rock singer (complete with new mohawk which looks great for her) to flush them out. The armored gang is actually punk rock group Purple Satin, and their bass player is wearing a piece of Harley's stolen mail, a soap heart necklace carved with " J (heart) H", which was given to her by Joker right before they broke out of Arkham together. While Harley's bandmates (Big Tony, Eggy, and Red Tool) go through some hijinks of their own, the leader of Purple Satin meets up with his boss, The Penguin, who informs him of Harley's deception and infiltration. Deal made, criminals busted, Harley goes home.
...but Volume 2 is called "Joker Loves Harley".... what are we about to get into???
Either way, I'm definitely along for the ride. High recommend.

This was great! I love Dr. Harley and she's at her peak in this volume. The art is great and I really like the individual issue arcs. One thing I take issue with, though, is the slow creeping in of the Joker back into Harley's life in the midst of her having some issues with Poison Ivy. After recognizing that her and the Joker's relationship was kaput and unhealthy, I wish she would toss that stupid soap heart into the nearest vat of acid. LOVE YOURSELF HARLEY, YOU DESERVE BETTER.

I hope some of Gotham's greatest villians come to Coney Island, I enjoyed seeing Penguin and a little glimpse of the role he may play in the upcoming volumes.

I thought this volume did an excellent job of re-introducing Harley Quinn. In Die Laughing, we get plenty of Harley's zaniness in settings to match. My favorite was the bizarre zombification of Brooklynites due to the inadvertent meat-grinding of a visiting alien into the city's favorite hot dogs. The writers did a great job of making Harley dance on the fine line of insanity, with compelling results. You want to love her for her ridiculousness and dislike her for her craziness at the same time.

Artwork was fabulous. This one was another fun ride. Liked the story , had some laughs. More Harley . what's not to love.

Oh Harley.... I don't know what it is about her character but I always enjoy reading her stories. She may be insane, but she usually means we'll - even if she does cut off your arm lol.

A fun read with dark humor.

I understand the HQ humor but some of the dialogue and plot unfolded in cliche.

I had a great time. Love this crazy woman.

I had mixed feelings about this.
Pros:
HQ and Poison Ivy. Although Harley and her merry crew made Ivy seem sane.
The Artwork. Excellent.
Red Tool. By far my favourite character. Come on. He's a parody of Deadpool, who is already a ripoff of Deathstroke. It's perfect. He needs his own comic!
Cons: The stories get a bit confused and random in places. Maybe this intentional to reflect Harley's mind. It just came across as messy to me.
How is Harley in two places at once? Coney Island in this and locked up with the Suicide Squad in the other comic.

Not my favourite title but not awful either.

I received this from NetGalley and tried to read it as best I could. The book looked good from the description and I have always wanted to try a graphic novel. However, no matter how I tried, even with help, the book would not download and therefore could not be opened. I cannot post a fake review and lie to the publisher. If I can get a copy guaranteed to work, I will rush to read and review it.

Sorry everyone!!
