I loved this book!! It held my interest from the first page. Parker and Syd meet when Parker is getting over a 10 year marriage gone bad. Parker has sworn off relationships and Syd doesn't do them. It soon becomes apparent that they're meant for each other. I enjoyed the development of their relationship. While neither wanted to give a label to what they were, it progressed naturally. There were obstacles and challenges faced by both. But they added to the plot. Cass Sellers is a fantastic story teller and I really am looking forward to her next book!

This is the debut novel by this author, the first of her Lightning series. It's a romance between recent divorcee Parker Duncan and one night stand extraordinaire Sidney Hyatt. They meet, none of them wanting a commitment, but the attraction is stronger. You can guess the rest as this is a romance. Nothing wrong with this. However, my issue with this book is that as their relationship evolves they encounter a number of clichéd situations that seem too stereotypical and simplistic in their development and resolution. I don't want to give much away but let's say it involves exes, homophobic parents, etcetera. The portrayal of the main characters as femme-butch, gorgeous-handsome, both well-off successful professionals makes them too stereotyped. Again, nothing wrong with that but it is not my cup of tea.

Overall, an ok read. 3 stars.

This book is excellently written! The characters are real, honest, the interaction is great! I have to say I prefer Parker to Syd, but my personal preference is just that, a personal, and it doesn't mean that both characters are not equally good. The book is a great read, it's an easy read, and I would gladly recommend it to anyone.

Most of us wished lightning struck and our dream lover would appear, but such is not the case in this debut novel called Lightning Strikes. Parker is finally divorced from her cheating wife when she goes out with friends to celebrate her new found freedom. It's at the bar when she is lured by Sydney for a dance. The attraction is immediate and intense for both of them but Parker is just not ready and easily escapes Syd's advances. Of course, chance and fate bring them together anyway and the sparks fly from there. The character development is far from subtle when it comes to Syd. She's tall, dark, and intense and she has no problem ensnaring women with her good looks and cheesy pick-up lines. Parker is the more sweet and impressionable one but she's not going to fall for another player. The two begin to build an easy friendship but taking it to the next level is not so easy as they dance around their phobias. This story had its moments that also included a subplot with a deranged stalker after Syd and there's some pretty steamy bedroom play, too. An enjoyable read and not bad for a debut novel. I received a copy from NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Wow, what a wonderful book/story. I loved every bit of it, unbelievably well written, wonderful choice of words, awesome characters, I can still feel the sizzeling electricity between the two main characters. I am craving for more! Well done, Mrs Sellars.

Cass Sellars is a talented author! I loved Lightning Strikes!

A wonderful read! Cass creates amazingly honest characters, blending in real life events with a beautiful twist of humor and heart felt connection!

Parker is nursing a broken heart after she discovers her wife cheating on their anniversary. Parker chooses to move on and embrace a new path. Parker is crafted in strong, yet vulnerable way that gives the reader insight into a beautiful soul who has to face a challenge many readers will journey.

Syd is the ultimate playgirl. After Parker ends up meeting Syd, the two form a wonderful friendship. Each one honest with the other one about where they are in their lives. Syd beings to naturally question her own beliefs about relationships and the authentic heart in Parker.

The book goes on to offer the reader a delightful insight into two souls who communicate honestly, embrace each other's lives. I don't want to give to much away but there is a stalker who tries to disrupt their lives. It's done nicely and adds a level of depth to the story line.

I love the humor, compassion, and action of this story. It's nicely paced and offers funny experiences with friend and family!

I enjoyed her Parker's dad Partick. I wasn't a big fan of her mom Sylvia. However they both were well written and I laughed a few times out loud with her Dad and scene with thinking about driving Syd's porsche. Jenny and Mac were caring friends. And finally Richard & Allen were supportive, but also portrayed realistically in their emotional caution about Parker being hurt so soon after her wife's betrayal.

To sum up is a beautifully written book for anyone who enjoys a fun, thoughtful and action oriented romance!
