I'm in love with the Joe Ledger series! It just drives me crazy how much he and his team go through. I read so quickly that I forgot to review and just fibrin with the next book. These are that good!

Weirdly I'm not into espionage but somehow Jonathan Maberry writes these in a way that keeps me glued to the page.

Hubby and I both read and enjoy these so much that we also now have all the audibles. Ray Porter is a fascinating narrator!

Joe Ledger and the DMS are hurting. The past several groups have managed to really damage the members of the DMS psyche and the organizations reputation. Now another attack seems to be ramping up with strange rabies attacks in Baltimore, Mindreader acting up, and untraceable text messages. Another unknown enemy has Joe Ledger and all his families in their sight. But the DMS manages to pull a rabbit out of its hat and distract the dogs, allowing the good guys to win once more. But raising questions about Mr. Church once again!

I love Jonathan Maberry and was thrilled when I received a Netgalley review copy of it. Sadly there was something seriously wrong with the review copy so there were tons of blank pages and at first I thought the entire book was empty so it took longer than I expected to get into it. However, glitches aside I really enjoyed this book.

As expected of a Joe Ledger book it's a roller coaster ride of one exciting scene after another. His team is still dealing with the fallout of their past mistakes and regaining everyone's trust that they can handle the big problems. But I'm glad to see most of the team members back in the saddle. The story line was great and I couldn't wait to see what would happen next. Excellent addition to the series!

Robots are no longer science fiction. Autonomous, programmed to react like animals: fast, relentless, deadly. From microscopic nanobots to massive self-guided aircraft. This technology is here, it’s accessible, and it’s dangerous. What’s even scarier is that almost anyone can get their hands on it.

A freelance terrorist uses the latest generation of robot dogs to deliver WMDs into cities across America. Sophisticated military weapons systems turn on their human masters. A technological apocalypse is coming and we may be too late to stop it.

Joe Ledger and a newly rebuilt Department of Military Sciences square off against this new and terrible threat.

Dogs of War is another pulse pounding, action packed bio-terrorism thriller in the Joe Ledger series. What is not to love:

NANOBOTS!

RABIES TURNED BIO-WEAPON!

EXPLOSIONS!

FIGHT SCENES!

DARK, SARCASTIC HUMOR!

CREEPY VILLAINS!

I loved everything about the book, both in print and in audio (seriously Ray Porter is a narrative genius!). Predator One and Kill Switch were heavy and the fallout for the characters is still very real. None of them are on their game when this new threat comes into play.

Maberry is a fantastic action writer and excels at pacing, character building, dark humor and just general great storytelling. His villains are legendary as are his heroes. My only problem now is that I've gobbled up this new release and have to wait for another!

Final rating: ALL THE STARS!!!

I've been thinking about this review for a month now, and for some reason I'm just befuddled by the whole thing. I'm not usually at a loss for words when it comes to Jonathan Maberry and his Joe Ledger series. Ledger and his team are always fighting the big bad, but this book ended up scaring me in another way. A.I., robotics, and nanotechnology is not my idea of great things to look forward to! But, the way Mr. Maberry has come up with the destruction of humanity in this book is truly terrifying. To say that I'm looking forward to the next few books in this series would be a vast understatement! Yep, I'd recommend this book and author. Thanks to St. Martin's and Netgalley for supplying me with an early e-arc.

Jonathoin Maberry does it again with his newest Joe Ledger, The Dogs of War. If you are looking for consistent excellence in a series, this is it. Maberry's writing is top notch, and the flow of this book is wonderful. He make the unbelievable, believable.

Another rock-'em-sock-'em Ledger adventure from the fertile yet happily damaged imagination of Jonathan Maberry. The print version of Pure Pop for Now People. Cue up the next one, please.

Maberry continues to excite and terrify
with his series of Joe Ledger novels.
Ledger is best described as
Spencer meets James Bond
with Sci Fi horror thrown in to taste.
These stories feature bleeding edge science
that is at best only a few years away from reality.
Joe Ledger and his colleges at the
DMS ( Department of Military Science)
fight the battles that we never see.
Terrorist plots so horrible that even knowing
about them would collapse society.
At the heart of these stories
(9 strong plus novellas)
Is Joe Ledger.
Just a Baltimore cop who catches the
attention of Mr. Church the enigmatic
leader of the DMS.
A secret agency that fights in the shadows
to keep the rest of us safe from the
monsters in the shadows.
Maberry is brilliant. His Prose
is subtly brilliant.
He paints a picture
and characters
with minimal effort but maximum effect.
I have every one of these stories.
Exciting and amazing
they are among my favorites.
This story in particular
was wonderful.
keeping you guessing up
to the very end
if Ledger and his team would win.
Maberry continues to be one of my
favorite authors.
He has yet to let me down.
