'Hunger' is a box set of Three Novella's totaling about 544 pages. With the following titles and authors:
Alpha's Mate by Eve Langlais: Fabian saves Vivienne after she was kidnapped and thrown in the water to die. Fabian thinks of himself as not a hero and the whole time he is pulling her out of the water he keeps remind himself. But things change pretty quick and all he wants to do is keep her safe. This had some really funny parts!
Alpha's in Dangerous Passion by Kate: Douglas Darnell and Evan which was a second chance at love type story
Alpha in Bound to the Wolf by A.C. Arthur: Marena and Phelan story was had a lot more excitement in it.
I have always said that box sets are nice so that you can learn about the different author's writing so that you can find out if she is author for you. In addition box set make it easier to read when you want a quick story before bed or while waiting.

4.5 Overall Stars!
What a great shifter combination of stories with these three authors. You get the silly and fun humor in Alpha's Mate by Eve Langlais; super sweet, protective Alpha's in Dangerous Passion by Kate Douglas; and the really intense, protective Alpha in Bound to the Wolf by A.C. Arthur.
3.75 Stars for Alpha's Mate by Eve Langlais
Dominant hero, dominant heroine that has clashing personalities but in a humorous way. A bit of danger since someone is trying to kill Vivienne but Fabian goes all protective Alpha on her. This one was entertaining with the over-the-top humor that almost bordered on too much. It's not one you'll take seriously, but will definitely give you a good laugh.
4 Stars for Dangerous Passion by Kate Douglas.
Normally I like the more dominant alpha's in my books but I can not complain about a man who is all about taking care of his woman. That's exactly what you get in Dangerous Passion. These shifters may be more of an omega males but they sure do know how to protect their females. This book is loaded with sugary sweetness. Plus you get two couples story in one book!
5 Stars for Bound to the Wolf.
Bound to the wolf is almost the complete opposite. Talk about intense! You can't get more dominant than Phelan. I would best describe him as dominant, broody and commanding. It takes a very strong woman to handle Phelan and he certainly met his match with Marena. I had to bring out the fan for this book. Hot! Hot! Hot!
All three books are a continuation in a series. While I think you could read them as a standalone, you will be missing some information on characters that were in previous books. ARC provided by NetGalley.
This is a 3 book set by 3 different authors that are not connected to each other. However they are connected to previous books that each of these author's has written. I recommend reading the books before this one so you aren't confused. I didn't realize they were connected to other books and ended up going back and buying the previous books and reading those before restarting this one so I would understand the other characters and the story lines. That being said, I really enjoyed these books. I always love Eve Langlais so I knew I wouldn't be disappointed there, but I hadn't read the other 2 others before and I was pleasantly surprised that I really liked those stories as well!
Book 1 is The Alpha's Mate by Eve Langlais. I really liked Fabian in this book. He seems like he should be this high profile gangster and he is really a softie underneath everything. And then he rescues his snarky mate! I always do love snarky women and Ms. Langlais loves to throw comedy into her books on top of everything else! This anthology was worth it just for this story!
Book 2 is Dangerous Passions by Kate Douglas. I had never read any books by her and I really fell in love with her writing. To the point I went and bought a bunch of her books! This one is the last book in this series of werewolf men looking for their mates. They come up with the unusual idea of opening a resort for women only in the hopes of finding them, and it works! This one is about their alpha Trak and one of his lieutenants Evan along with their mates Chelo and Nellie. I can't recommend these books enough! There was danger, laughter, and just plain love! Definitely a must have!
Book 3 is Bound to the Wolf by AC Arthur. This was another author I hadn't even heard of. But I really enjoyed this book and the ones in the previous books that tie together! This one is about Phelan and Marena. I really loved how they both had their own scars and found the answers to their life and happiness in each other. I especially love how even though they don't know much about each other they still stand for each other against all foes.
All in all, I really liked this anthology. All 3 stories were great and I would definitely recommend it to anyone!
What can I say? I got this book as an ARC, and while I enjoyed the first story, I couldn't make it past the first chapter of the second, and barely made it three pages into the third
First story - if this was written to be a slap-stick, tongue-in-cheek, story, it is bang on. If it wasn't, then, it should have been as that would be the only way to take it
Second story - I feel like i was dropped into a room of strangers, with several story lines going on at once, and not a clue who anybody was. Maybe if I had read other books in the series, but even then, there was so much thrown at you, just a big naw. Didn't really care about anybody I had met, and the only one I kinda thought was okay, seemed a little weak to me
Third story - really? Really? You start with a big event, and then move directly to a brothel. Ugh, such poor taste, and neither of the two characters I assume are the leads, resonated with me at all
Overall, just the last two are a one star, and maybe a three for the first. I could have easily not read any of them and not felt like I was missing anything
Alpha’s Mate by Eve Langlais
We first meet our Fabian as he is trying to save a damsel in distress. We don’t know who she is but she has been kidnapped and they are trying to kill her. We go through the whole book trying to find out who she is and why they are after her. The storyline is interesting and seeing the big bad Alpha wolf interacting with his tough mate is hilarious! I hope there’s more this series because they are really good. Dangerous Passions by Kate Douglas
This is the first book I’ve ready by Kate Douglas but I already have another one to read. I really enjoyed reading this book that much! There are 2 couples coming together in this book but it wasn’t confusing at all. Darnell is on her way back to Feral Passions (so this may be the last book in a series) to meet up with Evan. She doesn’t realize the men at the lodge are werewolves but she’s going to find out in a surprising way. We have their story and we also have a story involving Traker, the Alpha of the group. These stories are written where they intermingle perfectly without leaving you wondering what’s going on. It’s a really good book.
Bound to the Wolf by A.C. Arthur
We meet Marina as she leaves the firm’s anniversary celebration. She has gotten a room at the hotel to enjoy the weekend at the spa. But Davis, a partner at her law firm, has other plans for her. He attacks her and bites her. Then she shoots him until the gun is empty but there’s no body found when the police get there! This kind of excitement is going on in the whole book. There are all kinds of action in this book. We have good wolves and bad wolves, Greek Gods and Goddesses all showing up at one time or another. You are definitely kept on your toes to see what happens next! I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book that I received from Netgalley.
I really enjoyed this anthology. Top marks for me was Alphas Mate by Eve Langlais. Kate Douglas and A. C. Arthur are new authors to me so I will definately be checking out their back catalogue. Diverse but great writing from all authors, kept on the hook to see what happened next in each book. And although I enjoyed the other two authors, Eve's book was the standout for me. Very growly alpha male but faced with an equally alpha mate made for excellent reading.
They're all well written decent stories .Of you love paranormal then you'll definitely enjoy this one!
This is a paranormal romance anthology which includes the following three stories: The Alpha's Mate by Eve Langlais, Dangerous Passions by Kate Douglas and Bound to the Wolf by A. C. Arthur.
I must state at the onset that only Kate Douglas's story was I familiar with the storyline enough to be familiar with the settings - I've read an earlier story in the Feral Passions series. That impacted my reviews of each that follow:
The Alpha's Mate
4.5 stars
Fabian, the alpha of a wolf pack, rescues a woman as she is drowning, having been kidnapped by some thugs out to harm her. She has amnesia so has no idea who she is. This is basically the story of how they discover who she is, how to keep her safe, and the fact that she is his unexpected mate.
This was a good paranormal story with humor along the way. It was great watching them move through the stages of their relationship and the big reveal at the end that was quite a surprise. A little different style (the humor) than other paranormal stories but it was fun!
Dangerous Passions
5 stars
This was my favorite of the three! I've always enjoyed ALL of Kate Douglas's books including the Feral Passions Resort stories, so I was pleased to read a new one and "catch up" with what had been happening with the men of Trinity Alps pack.
I enjoyed the dual stories involving the last two unmated men of the Trinity Alps pack, alpha leader Tracker Jakes and his lieutenant, Evan Dark. The story between Tracker and his mate, Chelo, was especially touching. She had so much in her past that she has to overcome to move forward, but Tracker was patient and kind, giving her the time she needs to recover and gain her personal confidence. He brought out the best in Chelo, and helped her see how strong she was. It was a beautiful romantic love story on its own! This is another GREAT story from Kate Douglas!
Bound to the Wolf
3 stars
This was my least favorite. I believe if I was familiar with the stories of the other main characters and their mates, a lot of the backstory would have made more sense. It kept me from identifying with the two main characters, Phelan and Marena. For some reason, other than the physiological reasons for being attracted to one another (I don't want to give the storyline away here some I'm being purposefully vague!), I didn't really feel their connection as much. Honestly? It might have been due to the fact that by having just read Dangerous Passions where Tracker and Chelo were such an awesome couple connecting both emotionally and physically, it was a little harder to "feel" the connection between Phelan and Marena when theirs was mostly physical for at least the first half of the book. Or, as I said previously, maybe just not having enough background into the setting (the threat to their alpha, the Moon Goddess, the powers each had, etc.) that the previous books would have established, made this one harder to relate to.
Overall however, if you enjoy paranormal romance especially of the wolf kind, you will enjoy this anthology!
Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

Overall I'd rate this book a 4. I really enjoyed The Alpha's Mate, rate it at 4.5 stars. Viviene was kidnapped so that she could be killed. Fabien was in the right place at the right time and saved her. But she has amnesia and doesn't know who she is and whoever was trying to kill her is not done. It takes an interesting twist at the end, though I wish it would have given just a little more story at the end. I love the humor that the author throws in her stories, I know that when I read her stories I will laugh and be entertained, yet will still get the romance and the hot steamy scenes. This was my favorite story in the compilation.
The next book Dangerous Passions I would rate as 3.75 stars. It is supposed to be able to be read as a standalone, however I think it needed to be read in order to get more out of it. It started with an interesting premise, but I didn't like the concurrent love stories running side by side. The one fell flat, the other was a little better, felt like they started building it up and then it fell flat also. The characters didn't wow me overly much and it was missing a lot and at the end it ended leaving you wondering. It wasn't a bad story it just didn't wow me.
The third and final book Bound to the Wolf, I would rate at 4 stars. It was a fun premise, I enjoyed the characters, plenty of hot steamy scenes, biggest issue was the ending ended, and leaves you wanting more information on the couple. I was thoroughly intrigued by the little bit of mythology thrown in and different types of characters. This was my first book by this author and will have to go check out more of her stuff. Happy Reading!!
Hunger had three stories in it. I really wanted to read Alpha's Mate by Eve Langlais. I just finished reading Catch a Tiger By the Tail and went looking to see if Fabian had his own story. Fabian is in
Catch a Tiger By the Tail but he's not a main character in that one but it did leave me wanting to know more about him.
Fabian is pack alpha and boy is he all alpha. He's a wolf shifter. He's kind of the type of guy that you don't want to mess with. I liked him. He's not really the type of person who saves people but that's exactly what he does. He saves a woman from being killed. She has no memories of who she is or why anyone would want to kill her. She's a strong character. She stands up to Fabian and even teases him. She is definitely not afraid of the big bad alpha. I loved these two together. I didn't really try to guess who she was because there isn't really any clues to go on. Because there weren't really any clue to try to guess what her really identity was and why people were trying to kill her, when they part of the plot was reveal "I was like ok" instead of completely shocked. The epilogue has me hooked and ready for Cole's story.
Read this in one sitting. Dark and seductive yet funny and snarky.
The perfect combination.
I really liked this anthology. I loved how each novella was memorable and separate. Often times you lose what storyline you are in if they are repetitious. This was unique
The first Novella, Alpha's Mate By Eve Langlais:
I loved that this continued from the last book; Catch a Tiger By the Tail. Fabian was a great alpha character and "Vixen" was an equally strong alpha female. I loved that she did not know she was or who was after her. Watching as she got used to the shifter community was intriguing. As for her identity you find that out when Ms. Langlais chooses to tell you.
Dangerous Passions By Kate Douglas
I loved that Kate Douglas created a world different than her other series and I cant wait to learn more about Feral Passions and the people involved in that world. The characters were relatable and interesting. I love that she pulled me into the story with a short novella that still felt complete and left me wanting more, more characters and more romance.
Bound to the wolf AC Arthur
This was the first book I read by AC Arthur and it wont be the last. This to me was a hidden jewel. I wasn't sure If I wanted to read it but I'm glad I did. I loved the crossover of Greek Mythology and paranormal. I'm a sucker for Greek Mythology and AC did a wonderful job of making a dangerous world for Lycans in which not only are humans a danger but also the Olympic realm. I am looking forward to learning more and reading more from A.C.
I received a copy via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
More is better and the stories in the Hunger books are awesome. Good solid writing. Unique plots.
This trilogy by three of my favorite authors, Eve Langlais, Kate Douglas, and A.C. Arthur, is a paranormal treasure. My favorite of the three stories is Dangerous Passions with a trip back to the Feral Passions Resort. All three are werewolf oriented and will keep paranormal readers happy.
Alpha's Mate
The heroine finds herself drowning after being tossed bound into the river when Fabian comes to her rescue. When she comes to, she finds she has forgotten everything about herself and who she is; the only thing she knows is that she's being kept in Fabian's house. Little by little, her memory returns, but not before she and Fabian keep having to deflect more attempts on her life.
It took me a little bit to get into this story because everything starts off really fast and the chemistry between the main characters doesn't feel quite there. However, the first time the heroine showed some of her mettle, I started to get more into the tale. I like that the heroine is a badass and while I found Fabian lacking a little in comparison, it was overall a good read. An entertaining, quick read, but not necessarily the author's best.
Dangerous Passions
Darnell Deya returns to the secluded resort where she fell in a severe case of lust with Evan, a man who helps run the resort, the last time she visited. She's brash and bold and willing to make the first move. But what she doesn't know is that Feral Passions Resort is home to werewolves, many of whom were formerly single males seeking mates by running the resort.
Chelo is a werewolf hiding from her abusive captor and forced mate. Trak, the alpha of the resort and surrounding area, offers her protection and maybe something more. These two couples will explore and test their budding relationships as they fend off werewolves with an evil agenda.
This story was interesting enough, but because it was such a short story and focused on two couples, I didn't feel particularly satisfied with either half of the story. I also found myself much more interested in the secondary characters whose stories were told in full books that took chronologically place before this one. An entertaining read but a little too packed and shallow.
Bound to the Wolf
Marena wakes from an attempted sexual assault to discover a bite on her shoulder and that she is a person of interest in her would-be assailant's missing case. She flees to Montana where she discovers Phelan, the only person - lycan - who can ease the pain of what is apparently her transformation. Phelan himself has been cursed by a vengeful Furie and carries secrets of their own. Both battling their own demons, they explore the bond that seems to tie the two of them together.
This was my least favorite of the trio. Both of the main characters came across as very one-dimensional, even for a short story what with Marena constantly trying to get back to her old life so she could work on her promotion while Phelan consistently insists he won't have a girlfriend in a mysterious manner that is so easy to crack. I also personally don't particularly like sexual coercion being used as a weapon by both "villains" and didn't enjoy that aspect of the story at all.
Thanks to the publisher for an ARC in exchange for a fair review!
I'm not sure exactly what I expected from this compilation of short stories, but this was disappointing. The best one is story #2 from Douglas.
3.5-4 stars.
I really enjoyed the fact that it's 3 for 1 with this story bundle.
They're all well written decent stories with likeable characters. I found the first story " The alpha's mate" with Vivienne and Fabian to be my favourite out of the 3. I enjoyed the fast paced smutty romance between the pair. As predictable as the story was I found myself sniggering away at the humour and sighing at the sweet fleeting moments. The chemistry between the pair is off the charts and the sex is pretty hot also. All of the stories are pretty far fetched in the sense of believability however I enjoyed them all the same.
Like I said I enjoyed them all however being honest I can't say they will be super rememberable to me either but again you are getting 3 for the price of one so I'd definitely say it's worth you buying it even if you only like one, I didn't mind the other two but I preferred the first story.
I kindly received this ARC from netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
