This was an enjoyable romantic suspense novel. I felt that the story was good, it flowed really well and had great pacing. It also had a good dose of action and the suspense element was strong throughout. The story was told in flashbacks and at times, I felt there was maybe a flashback too many and they weren't really needed as this got to feel a little repetitive at times. I liked the characters and they had great chemistry. Overall, this was a good read and a nice start to a new series. I'm certainly looking forward to the next book.

Jackson “Jax” Irons has returned both mentally and physically wounded from his last tour in Afghanistan. He’s now a civilian, running his own private security firm with his best friend, Joey, and just trying to take one day at a time.

Megan Cruz is an international superstar—a member of the band TNT and beloved by their fan base. She’s living her dream—until that dream is threatened by a deadly stalker.

What happens when Megan and Jax’s worlds collide—again? They had a whirlwind romance five years ago and haven’t seen each other since. Both have grown up and moved on and experienced life. Is there still a spark? Is there hope for more?

Promise me you’ll be happy.

Damn, I’d liked to have experienced an “all in” romance like Megan and Jax. The burned bright and fast when they first met, and that fire isn’t out! I loved their reconnection. Loved how Jax bulldozed—err, literally—right back into her life. Loved how Megan gave it back as good as she took it from Jax too! I loved their “grown up” relationship—so fun to see how they’d both changed but stayed the same. Add in the suspense with the stalker and I couldn’t put it down! Excellent foray into romantic suspense! Can’t wait for the next one!

I would like to thank NetGalley and SMP Romance for an advanced copy of this book!

Megan Cruz is the lead singer in the band TNT. Megan has developed herself a stalker. When he breaks into her house, she fears the worst. Jax Irons is an owner of Iron Clad Security and also has a history with Megan. Someone he thought he'd never see again after the four intensely amazing days they spent together five years ago. When he hears on the news that she's in trouble he wastes no time getting to her. Keeping her safe becomes his top priority.

The spark Megan felt with Jax hasn't died in the five years they have been apart. They have both changed but that chemistry they shared didn't. Can Jax keep Megan safe while her body is a huge distraction or will Megan go stir crazy waiting for him to touch her?

I figured out the "who done it" early on but I absolutely loved the ride getting there. I am a huge fan of Ms. Halston's writing and Kiss Marry Kill is no exception. It's sexy and fun, suspenseful and has explosive chemistry. It really is everything you want in a romance. I can't wait to see what lies ahead for this series!

This book jumps right into action as Megan Cruz, lead singer of TNT is hiding in her closet with a knife in her hand ready to kill the intruder if he finds her and waiting for the police.

Megan was sitting in her bed writing lyrics for her next song when she heard glass break downstairs. That's when she took refuge in her huge closet. What frightens her is who it may be...an intruder or Ryan, her stalker?

Jackson aka Jax Irons has done two tours of duty in Iraq while in the Marines and is now home and co-owner of Iron-Clad security. Due to an ambush and his injuries, he was honorably discharged and was left with a limp. He started a business with his best friend Joey Clad.

Five years earlier at a Miami Marlins game, he was in his favorite seat (he used to go with his dad and this seat has been his for a very long time), when the guy next to him wouldn't kiss his girlfriend for the big screen when the camera was on them, Jax kissed her for him! And that began their whirlwind affair of 5 days. Where it was about having fun and following your dreams. He was getting ready to be deployed and she was going off to college to become a lawyer. They just knew they'd never see each other again, so they didn't even exchange phone numbers.

Now Jax sees her on TV about the break in at her home and he goes to rescue her. He had no idea she was a famous singer and he also had no idea she was being stalked. This is one of the most important cases his security company has ever taken on and he will move heaven and earth to keep her safe. Once they are together so much, will they pick up where they left off 5 years ago?

I loved this book!! It started out so suspenseful and that was a great way to start a new series!! Absolutely loved the characters, they were so "real"! Jax was a super hot alpha that was demanding in every thing he did! It was also very clever how the title of this book came about! A great twisted story!!

Five years ago, Jax and Megan met at a baseball game. He was about to leave for his second tour in Afghanistan and she was about to start law school. They had a few days of just being together and being happy before the real world came knocking and they had to go their separate ways. Now, Megan is a pop star and Jax owns a security company. So when Megan has a crazed fan break into her house, Jax is the one who comes to the rescue. This just might be their second chance.
I really enjoyed this story. The chemistry between Jax and Megan is smoking hot and I was super glad they got to see each other again. I’ve been reading more romantic suspense lately and I must say that Sidney Halston did a wonderful job in this genre. I can’t wait to read more of her books.

Kiss Marry Kill is the first in Sidney Halston's Iron Clad Security series. I love a good reunion/second chance romance. Add in some suspense, and the result is a page-turner that you can't put down.

Jax and Megan have history. When they are brought together five years later, we see just what happened when they were together last. Their current danger, irresistible attraction, and sweet memories provide action and chemistry not to be missed.

I really enjoyed the set-up of Jax and Megan's story with their interwoven throughout. I couldn't wait to see what was in store next. I'm looking forward to more Iron Clad Security.

I read Sidney Halston’s Pull Me Close and was really, really impressed with the way she wrote her characters and the issues they were dealing with. She writes with a lot of empathy and she had obviously done quite a bit of research for that particular novel. So when I was given the opportunity to read Kiss Marry Kill, I was very much onboard. I love romantic suspense!

Kiss Marry Kill started out with a bang so that I was immediately sucked into the action. This is exactly how you want your romantic suspense–in the midst of action and just keep it coming. Unfortunately that’s where Kiss Marry Kill falls a bit flat. Halston tries to do just a little too much with this first effort at romantic suspense and as such it comes off more new adult romance bookended with a side of suspense. While the characters are initially sweet and layered and interesting, I felt that the novel could have been tightened up a lot in order to keep the suspense going. Instead, alternating chapters told the background story when one would have been sufficient; this significantly diluted the suspense that was created at the beginning.

The manner of storytelling also made the romance grow a bit boring for me, which is kind of unfortunate since I was initially loving it. I loved that Jax was this sweet, but rash hero and that he introduced Megan to new adventures. I also thought it was a wise (although somewhat cliched) structuring of character to have him be closed after he returned from Afghanistan and that Megan would want to bring back some of the boy she knew. Jax’ internal struggle of whether to be Megan’s lover or bodyguard just didn’t seem like enough of deterrent to keep them apart. Even the sex scenes became kind of rote and I oddly found myself skipping over them, also kind of disappointing.

As for the suspense, the issue of Megan’s stalker flits about in the background for probably a little more than half of the novel when the action resumes. If you read a lot of romantic suspense or mysteries, the ending will come as no surprise and again, I was disappointed as I was expecting more.

So while Kiss Marry Kill is well written with likeable characters, it works more on the level of a romance novel than as a romantic suspense as the primary focus was on the romance rather than the suspense. I hope that the next installment in the series, if it’s also supposed to be romantic suspense, gives us a lot more action.

This is definitely for you folks who want a heated romance with a tad of suspense.

First let me say... after reading this book, Sidney Halston has found a new fan. It's me, of course! Who knew that after reading the blurb and being gifted an advance copy that I'd find a new author to add to my favourites list? I freaking love when that happens. Something about this book spoke to me and I'll definitely be delving into her other novels.

Five years ago, Jax was a soldier about to go on his second tour of duty and Megan was on the brink of starting law school. Both had huge responsibilities and burdens, but for four blissful days, they only had to focus on each other's happiness. Now Megan's a famous rock star who's being stalked by an overzealous fan and Jax, with the support of his security company, is just the man to offer her protection.

Through flashbacks to the glory days, we get to see how deep the connection between Jax and Megan really was and how their feelings for one another never died. I absolutely loved Jax and Megan; individually and as a couple. The author gave the perfect amount of attention to their character development and did an amazing job of working it into the plot. I was constantly on the edge of my seat, from both the suspense elements and the development of the couple's relationship. It's safe to say that this story offered not a dull moment and left me in no doubt of the love and utter "rightness" of Jax and Megan. I'm excited to see what happens next in this series!

"Kiss, Marry, Kill" by Sidney Halston. Having read many of Ms. Halston's previous works, I was very excited to start this new series. And, as usual, Ms. Halston did not disappoint. "Kiss, Marry, Kill" is filled with suspense, a sense of danger and, of course, some super sexy romance too. Megan and Jax, two souls that met 5 years earlier and, although it was only short fling, connected. Now, present day, the two are once again together. Jax, a super sexy former Marine and current security business owner, is just a doll. I adored him - he is, of course, HOT, but he's also so sweet and tender. Megan, a successful pop star, has grown into a confident and independent woman. She did annoy me at times, acting a bit of a pop star diva, in my opinion. But, those times were overshadowed by the sexiness and love filled connection these two shared. The story keeps the reader on edge, never knowing what or when something might happen. Despite the suspense of the story, there are plenty of happy moments and moments that made me smile and chuckle too. I certainly recommend this story by Ms. Halston (and her previous works as well) and look forward to the next tale in this series. (received copy for honest review)

Jackson Irons aka Jax has been to hell and back during his time in the military, and the loss of most of his platoon in an incident that left him severely injured still weighs heavily on his mind. He is now living civilian life again with his best friend and one of the few remaining survivors of that day, and he and Joey decided to realize the dream they planned to share with their friends by opening Iron Clad Security. When he sees a news report about a pop star who was attacked in her home by a stalker, his blood runs cold as he recognizes the face of the woman he has never forgotten since he walked away from her 5 years to let her pursue her dreams. She has obviously been successful, and he doesn't think twice about hopping on his bike to check on her.

Megan cannot believe that Jax is actually standing in front of her again on one of the worst days of her life. First a stalker breaks into her house and corners her in a closet, then the man she fell for so many years ago reappears in her house barking orders at police and trying to take charge of the situation before even explaining what he is doing there. Jax is definitely no longer the same carefree laid back guy she met at the ballpark, but he is about to learn that she is no innocent, naive pushover either.

Although both Megan and Jax have changed in the last 5 years, their chemistry and easy connection hasn't changed in the least. Their history is revealed in a series of flashback chapters entwined through their present day escapades as we learn just how they fell so hard for each other yet ended up walking away after just a few days. Now, in a bit of a role reversal, Megan is the one who has to teach Jax to loosen up a bit even as he plans to keep her safe from her crazed fan, and slowly she coaxes a little bit of the old Jax to the surface with their old game of doing 5 things he would never normally do in order to get a little reward at the end ;-)

Jax can't deny he still loves Megan but he is terrified of losing focus and allowing her to be hurt especially after the way things went down in Afghanistan with his team. So he reverts to being a caveman and a jerk as he alternates between pushing her away and wanting to lose himself with her all over again. Megan is determined to make him see that he can have it both ways, and they certainly have some fun as she tries to convince him! But when crazy and determined overcome his best laid plans, Jax shuts down and goes into full on protection mode- from afar.

Megan's best friends Nelly and Taylor who are her band mates, and they are definitely a hoot! They are all about having Megan's back and they have no qualms about giving Jax a piece of their mind for his jerkish tendencies no matter how hot he is! Joey isn't shy about giving Jax a verbal slap in the head either, but in the end Jax has to be the one to find a way to forgive himself for the past and accept that the future doesn't have to be a solitary existence.

Kiss Marry Kill was an action packed, suspenseful and sexy second chance romance that I thoroughly enjoyed! There were plenty of fun-filled moments to offset the heart-pounding ones, and the characters were both well written and engaging. Jax is no slouch on the smokin' hot scale despite his gruff demeanor and caveman tendencies at times, and Megan exhibited strength and independence in the face of the loss of control over most things in her life. She learned over the course of the years to fight for what she wants, and she put those lessons to good use when it came to Jax. All in all, Ms. Halston has given us a great start to a new series and I can't wait to see what comes next!

I loved Kiss Marry Kill something BIG! It had everything I love in a book... Hot Alpha male - tick. Sweet, strong, and sassy heroine - tick.
Drama - tick. Lots of hot, swoon-worthy moments - tick, tick, tick!!

Jax and Megan met five years ago at a baseball game, in a rather bizarre situation. When Megan is rejected twice by her then boyfriend in front of the kiss cam, Jax decides on an impromptu kiss. Little did they both know, it would change their lives forever.

When Jax discovers that Megan is in danger, he seeks her out and offers her his security services. It's not long after, that the old feelings they had toward each other resurface. But Jax doesn't want to take those feelings further for fear that his head won't be on the job.

This story goes back and forth between the past and present, giving us insight into Jax and Megan's early relationship. Although this is a romantic-suspense, there were plenty of sweet, swoon-worthy moments as well... especially when the couple finally give into the hot and intense attraction they still have.

Jax and Megan had a few obstacles to get through, but they were perfect for each other. I loved the way Jax was prepared to protect the woman he loved no matter what.

I'm a big fan of Sidney Halston and her writing. She is an automatic one-click author for me and I can't wait to see who is next in this series of books!

Kiss Marry Kill by Sidney Halston is the first book in the new series Iron Clad Security and I really enjoyed it.

The writing was well done, the drama/suspense was just enough to hold your interest throughout the book and the characters were likable, passionate and very relatable.

I really enjoyed watching Jax and Megan reconnect, they were both passionate people who loved hard and never forgot about the other after being apart for five years.

I liked how we get to see them as they were back when they first fell in love and how they've both grown and changed but the love between them is still strong.
They shared a strong connection and the chemistry between them was HOT!!

I love second chance love stories and author Sidney Halston has written a very entertaining and enjoyable read in Kiss Marry Kill.
What a great start to the Iron Clad Security series, looking forward to Last First Kiss coming later this year.

Kiss Marry Kill is the first book in the Iron Clad Security Series by Sidney Halston.

One weekend.
One love.

Now she's an internationally famous musician. And she's in danger.
He's back and running his own private security firm, Iron-Clad, with his best friend.

He never stopped thinking about her. And now that a deadly stalker breaks into her home claiming to be her number-one fan, he'll do anything to protect what's his.

I loved Pull Me Close so when I knew Sidney Halston was releasing a Romantic Suspense, I was game.

With each page I was waiting for Megan & Jax to stir something within me, and whilst there were some moments that I enjoyed their hot and cold game, it wasn't enough and I got a little bored.

I got that their journey back to one another was important, but what about the suspense? The thrilling moments when you can't stop biting your nails imagining what's going to happen next. Or if someone is going to die...

That's what I expect when reading a romantic suspense but unfortunately I didn't get it here. I'm not saying there wasn't any suspense, it's just that it wasn't enough for me. I felt like the author focused more on the second chance to love and left the suspense behind and for a romantic suspense lover like me that hurt.

Overall, it ended up being just an "okay" book for me. And don't you go thinking that because this one wasn't a winner for me I won't be reading the next one, because you're wrong. A kind of female bodyguard? Yeah, I'm pretty excited.

So I'd certainly say read and judge for yourself. The chances are I'm crazy and you'll disagree with me, LOL.

Kiss Kill Marry by Sidney Haltom a review

Where should I start? I loved this story that's wbere. Completely had me wrapped in I'm the first chapter. I truly enjoyed all the twists and turns in Megan's and Jax's story. The suspense was well executed and could wait to see  what happened next. LOVE IT!

The "live your life like it's the last day" was a huge theme through this story. And it had you wanting nothing but a happy ending for both Megan and Jax. I cannot wait to see what comes next or how you keep me on my toes.

I received this ARC for a fair and honest review.

***4 ‘5 Things’ Stars***

This was a fun, sweet, smexy and heartfilled second chance at love story with a well thought out and executed little mystery woven into it filled with interesting characters that kept me turning the pages to see what would happen next with Jax and Megan’s relationship as well as find out just what the stalkers endgame was.

Jackson aka Jax is working on living a civilian life, but the guilt over an incident that occurred while still in the military is a huge weight on his shoulders that he cannot shake. I loved Jax. The man is a total take charge alpha male with a protective streak a country mile wide. He has his moments of going beyond being a neanderthal, but it’s not because he needs to feed his ego, it’s because he needs to protect those he calls his own. He’s charming, playful and

Megan left one world behind to follow her dreams and through hard work, perseverance and a good dose of being in the right place at the right time luck she has achieved rock royalty status. I loved Meg’s moxie. She sassy and has a genuine and generous heart. I loved how she fought for what she wanted and didn’t have an issue voicing her opinion when necessary.

I loved how Jax and Meg were brought back into each others lives and how it kicked off their second chance romance. It wasn’t an easy one, what with the whole stalker thing and all the crazy that it brought with it, but it was a fun, smexy, sometimes frustrating, and yet ultimately satisfying one as we not only got to see them fight for each others happiness now, but from when they first collided. Being able to see who they were when they first met and who they were now was fun because in some ways they were the same in other not so much, but what was blatantly obvious was the spark between them had never died.

The writing was engaging and I was hooked from the very beginning. The 3rd person dual POV was done well and I thought the whole stalker issue was well thought out and executed. It kept me on my toes throughout the book wondering when the stalker would strike next and in what way. The supporting cast of characters were well written and added depth and entertainment to the story and I’m hoping that we get to see more of all of them as the series progresses.

3.5 Stars!

This is my first book by Sidney Halston and it's a great start to a series. A second chance romance between an ex-marine and rock star. They met 5 years prior, Jax about to ship out and Meghan on the verge of starting law school.

This story had lot of things going for it. They way the two met was cute. How they spent the next four days together before Jax shipped out. The impact he had on her in that short amount of time, gave her the courage to change her life the way she wanted. How after 5 years, just the thought of Meghan in danger has Jax crashing back into her life to protect her from a stalker.

Overall, a great story, great writing and interesting characters. I would have loved a bit more excitement to the suspense part of the story. This also had one of things I do not like in my romance books. Jax thoughts of Meghan were great, he was possessive and loved her long before he could admit it, but he didn't feel good enough for her so there was too much pushing away for my tastes. I really need the man to be a man and make things happen. When that doesn't happen, it takes some of my love of the relationship away. That's just a personal like and I'm sure most readers will love the back and forth with the characters.

ARC provided by NetGalley.

I picked this one by the title so I didn't know what to expect. It's a really good book that kept me hooked.

Megan is famous singer. She's has a creepy stalker. Her creepy stalker is what brings Jax back into her life. Jax is a sexy ex Marine who now owns security firm. Jax is all alpha. Megan is a strong character too. She's not timid and weak, she's strong and independent. I really liked both of them.

They both know each other from before and the book switches from present to past so we get to read their past too. I loved how they meet and reading that they were are different points int heir lives back then I really wanted to read more to see how they got to where they were in the present.

Kiss Marry Kill has romance and suspense wrapped up perfectly together.

Right off the bat, I lost of excitement as I realized it was third person point of view. To make it even worse, it was dual pov. I love dual pov, but not when it's third-person. And oh my gosh, I kid you not I spent probably 30% of the book not knowing who's pov I was reading from. And I hated that.

I don't know, but something about Kiss Marry Kill just didn't feel right. Some of the dialog seemed off or out of place. The main characters didn't feel complete. There were times that it felt that the author might have forgotten the path or personality she had set for her mc's.

Honestly, (and this is where it bums me out) I can not think of any positive comments to add to my review. Argh! I think the only reason why I gave it another half star was because I didn't give up on the book. I almost did so many times. SO. Many. Times. But I just couldn't. Ugh. The suspense wasn't really even...suspenseful.
