When Annie Nobody, who now knows that she is a Time Stopper, awakens, she feels like something is wrong. Soon, she and her friends - Eva the dwarf, Bloom the last elf, and Jamie, who might be a troll discover that Miss Cordelia, the magical Time Stopper, who is now Annie's guardian, after a long string of foster families, is missing. Together, Annie and her friends have to save Miss Cordelia from the evil demon Raiff. Action and adventure abound in this second book in this fun, middle grade series.

While this is the first of this series, or by this author I have read, I still ended up enjoying it! Well written, and such fun to read!

This is the second book in the Time Stoppers series. You can see my review of the first book here. I liked this book better than the first, but there are still some issues. Some of them may have been because it was a galley and not the finished product, some inconsistencies in the story, that hopefully have been caught. But I also still have some of the same issues that I had with the first book.

Annie is beginning to show some strength and growth and doesn’t appear as downtrodden, except when she is expected to be the leader and make decisions. Then she starts to think the same old things that she isn’t good enough and no one ever loves her or likes her and she can’t do what is needed. But then she goes ahead and does it and does it well, but can’t accept the praise of her friends. I just find her a bit tedious and whiney.

The character of Eva is better, but I think that might just be that we don’t see her as much in this book as the last. Although I was able to get through most of the scenes with her in it with out skipping over her parts as much as I did the first book. She is a little less annoying but not by much.

Bloom, the elf, is still my favorite character. He is strong and tries really hard to do what is right. He is always there for Annie and the others. Jamie is also becoming a strong and endearing character, especially in this book. He is beginning to grow more comfortable with himself and trust his own decisions more. He is also becoming and indispensable part of the group. There is one new character that is now joining them on their quest, a stone giant by the name of SalGoud. He is an interesting character and adds some much needed strength to the group.

There is a dragon in this book, which I really liked. He was very dragonish, but helpful to the children and their quest to defeat the Raiff. I hope to see more of him in the future books.

The story is good, it moves quickly and keeps your attention. It ends on a high note even though the children are off on another seemingly hopeless quest. The only thing I didn’t like, was that they wouldn’t confide in any of the adults, just because someone made them promise not to tell. I’m just not sure that that sends the right message. They wouldn’t even tell Miss Cornelia, probably the only adult they could have trusted. I guess I would have liked to have seen a little more positive adult interactions.

Still I would recommend this series, even with its faults. I think there are kids who will really like it and enjoy it!

I was interested in this book when I had first seen the cover and also the title. I love time travel books and thought that this would be an interesting Middle Grade read. This series so far is about a girl named Annie who is a Time Stopper. She is one of the last humans in existence that is able to control time. She is now living in a new home in the town of Aurora. There are many mystical and magical creatures that she lives with such as Eva a dwarf, Bloom and elf, and Jamie who may be a troll. They are all living with their guardian Miss Cornelia. She is another one of the Time Stoppers. In this novel Miss Cornelia goes missing and Annie and her friends go on a mission to find her.

It took me a while to get into this novel once I started it though the idea of how the magic worked was something that kept me wanting to read.
