What a wonderful story for kids to read. Beautiful illustrations help tell the story. Fun to follow Jeremy as he learns his grandma's Talent. What a surprise! Great family read.

I love this book. My kids and i read it together like we always do with the kid books I am approved for too. My kids enjoyed it as well!

I love the idea that Jeremy's grandmother doesn't have the stereotypical grandma talent. But what I really liked is that when the other kids are going through their grandma's talents, Jeremy sees things that his grandma can do as well. Even though she doesn't have a great "talent" as he defines it, she comes across as a competent but not perfect, like most grandmothers. Then they do figure out her talent and Jeremy gets his happy ending.

There’s an upcoming talent show at the grade school, but in a twist that I’m glad we didn’t have when I was that age, it’s for the grandparents. There are cooks, painters, dancers, and so on, but Jeremy has no idea what his grandma’s special talent is. The book shows them trying several things, all failures, which makes both of them sad.
Perhaps they should have looked at the cover, where grandma is spinning a basketball on her finger. Pretty sure that even with the ballerinas and hula hoopers, she’s gonna win.
Simple story with effective artwork. Doesn’t try to overdo anything.
3.5 pushed up to 4/5

'What Can Your Grandma Do?' by Anne Sawan with art by Sernur Isik is a cute picture book about the many talents that we all have, even if they don't seem obvious at the time.

Jeremy's school is having a talent show for grandparents. The other kids all have grandparents who can do wonderful things like bake or splint an arm or make paintings. Jeremy isn't sure his grandma has a talent, but then he finds that it has been right in front of him this whole time.

The art in the book is cute with color tending towards pink and pastels. The story is a cute one and the lesson that everyone is good at something is not a bad one to teach children.

I received a review copy of this ebook from Clavis Books and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this ebook.

Jeremy’s class is having a special show and tell of their grandparents for Grandparents’ Day, but Jeremey isn’t sure his Grandma can do anything special. Will he be able to find his Grandma’s talent before the show?

This book was very enjoyable and colorful, with hilarious illustrations. It teaches kids that everyone has different strengths and that if they look really hard, they may be able to notice the awesome talents those closest to them have to share.

What Can Your Grandma Do
By: Ann Sawan

This is an adorable and cheerful Children’s book. I love the colorful and whimsical illustrations on each page. Even toddlers can follow along when THEIR grandma reads it to them.

Next week is “Grandparents Appreciation Week” at Jeremy’s school. All of his classmates are excited! Jeremy can’t think of anything his grandma can do. Jeremy and his grandma discuss talents… no, no, nope… not that one wither. Until they discover what his grandma CAN do!

Highly recommend this book!

Cute story of a boy discovering his grandmother's talents. The tale could have gone more into learning more about his grandma, but for a surface story it was cute.

Cute. A fun picture book for children who have relationships with their grandmothers (not all do). Sweet and whimsical illustration that are inclusive of many ethnicities. A book to remind children that grandmothers are special.

Jeremy's teacher announces that they are having a talent show featuring grandparents in honour of Grandparent's week. Jeremy's classmates are all excited telling their friends what their grandparent will be showing the class. Jeremy is not sure what talent his grandmother has or what she will be able to show the class. After school, Jeremy visits his grandmother and tries to figure out what her talent is. When she is unable to juggle, do magic tricks or cook, they decide to take a break and play basketball. Wow, can grandma play basketball! At the talent show, Jeremy's grandma blows all his friends away with her basketball skill, especially dunking. Jeremy is so proud of her!

It is a cute story that sends the message that everyone has a talent, no matter what your age. We are all individuals and can do something well, even though you might not think of it as a talent. You just need to discover what it is and show the world, or just your families and friends. This is a great book for a Grandmother to share with her grandchild, especially a grandson like in the book. The publisher generously provided me with the book via Netgalley.

What a fun book for your collection! Jeremy's school is hosting a talent show for grandparents in honour of Grandparent's Week and the participants will be the grandparents themselves. What a novel idea! Every student expresses the gifts and talents of their grandparents but when it comes to Jeremey's Grandma... well let's just say her choices are limited... or so Jeremy thinks.

Some of his classmates spout off that their Grandma is an excellent cook, another one's Grandpa is an excellent painter, and another one can fix broken arms. Oh my! Poor Jeremy, what can his Grandma do to contribute?

Jeremy asks his Grandma if she can juggle? No... that doesn't go well. Can she do magic tricks? She fails again. Poor Grandma she feels very badly. Finally the two take a break and go off to play basketball... and that's where Grandma's special talent shines! She shows her expertise with her skill when it's her turn at the talent show. Her performance brings raving cheers from all of his classmates! Hurray for Grandma! Jeremy is so proud of her!

This inspiring story will have you, the reader, cheering too. Everyone is unique and has something you really do well. You are never too old to discover your talent or to show it off to the world! A perfect book for a Grandma (or Grandpa) to share with her beloved grandchild.

This would appeal to grandparents reading to children. Given a choice, it is unlikely that a child would select this book.

Callie's Kid Review: 5 stars for the story and pictures. I would recommend it to my friends. The reading level was medium because there was words in other languages and the font was sometimes hard to read. I thought the pictures were pretty. I thought the story was great because she is good at basketball and I'm good at basketball too. I liked it when the grandma grabbed the hoop and then she couldn't get down.

My Mommy Review: WHAT CAN YOUR GRANDMA DO? by Anna Sawan is a fun read for kids. The illustrations are bright and all the images of grandmas and grandpas will delight young children. It also captures the diversity of a classroom which I really liked. The text of the story is approachable for budding readers to tackle though the font and some of the words were hard for my 1st grader. My son enjoyed the bright pictures in this book and the basketball theme. I liked that Jeremy was sensitive to what his grandmother was feeling during their conversation - I liked that he came across as so kind.

I received an ARC of this novel from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Jeremy's class is having a Grandparent Talent Show as part of Grandparent Appreciation Week at school! Everyone's grandparent seems to have a special talent, except Jeremy's. Will they find a hidden talent in time? A great read for all students about finding value in people, particularly grandparents, with exceptionally diverse characters that lend themselves to new vocabulary moments!

Next week is the grandparents talent show at school. Everyone's grandparent can do something cool, except Jeremy. What can his grandma do? A fun look at grandparents and how they all are unique.

Good short bedtime story, a vibrant and colourful book.

I read this along to my grandson and 'tested it out' with him. He is 7 and this book is intended for ages 4 to 7. We quite enjoyed this book and loved the fun, colourful pictures. This is a pleasant little tale, just the right length for bedtime reading, and you can read the whole story in one session. It ended a little bit sooner than I thought it was going to. It was looking very promising but then I thought there could have been just that extra surprise at the end. It just seemed a bit sudden and not very conclusive. The book looks very good and very inviting, vibrant and colourful.

A unique and funny book showing young children that all Grandma's are special in their own way. Perfect bedtime story to share with loved ones.
