This book wasn't for me. I really tried with this book, but ultimately, I got bored with it. It's basically the same premise of opposite attracts with forced proximity. Read it before, and this book has the same premise of it.
This book was so funny! Enemies to lovers is a favorite trope of many and this one is a book I will recommend for sure.
Let me start by saying I'm a Lauren Layne fan and have read the majority of her books. This one my least favorite. I found Georgianna to be self absorbed and shallow and it was difficult to root for her. Maybe I didn't have the right frame of mind going in but I could not get invested in her happily-ever-after.
There is something when I comes to Lauren Layne books that I know I'm going to love. This was no different. I laughed outloud reading this. I couldn't put it down and might have lost some sleepover it, but it twas totally worth it.
Lauren Layne always does the perfect combinations of sophistication and down to earth with her female characters and I’m not quite sure how she manages it. At first you would think Georgie is just all flippant and doesn’t have a care in the world, and in some ways that part is true. However, she really does do a lot of good in the world besides just charity work. Her little acts of kindness every day set in motion I’m sure a giant ripple effect for the rest of the world. I love her open kindness to everyone around her, no matter how little time she has known them. Her loyalty to her friends is really a great trait that is shown in the very beginning and I loved it.
Andrew was a very tough nut that’s for sure, I feel he was a little bit emotionally stunted from his job and lack of normal school life. I really enjoyed the banter he had going on with Georgie through out the whole book and that he refused to call her by her nickname. I usually like reading the books where the girl is super awkward because I can relate to that better, however this one where the guy was unbelievably awkward so nice. I think most of was because he didn’t know how to handle Georgie she didn’t fit into his nice plotted out and color coded life style.
Lauren Layne has been and will probably always be an auto buy author for me. She just writes probably the best city/posh/rom-coms and I love them. So if you would love an enemy to lovers rom-com this book would be right up your alley.
This was a super fun read. Andrew just doesn't know what hits him, when the whirlwind called Georgie enters his building and enters his life. After all, what could they possibly have in common when she is always coming home after a night partying just as he's leaving to hit the gym - it's ridiculous. The chemistry is undeniable, and this heat is smoldering until it absolutely combust. Be ready for a fun read - and for Andrew to lose control.
I'm a MAJOR fan of Lauren Layne. Her writing is simply phenomenal! But for some reason, this story lacked the specialness and the spark of LL's writing. It was a very entertaining read, but it didn't wow me, like LL's stories usually do. I still recommend it to readers because it may just be their cup of tea.
I wasn't able to get into this one. I tried until 32% and decided it just wasn't for me. Thank you for the opportunity to read this title.
This is very, very belated, for which I apologise. Walk of Shame was fun, but it wasn't as fun as I'd expected it to be. I enjoyed the interplay between Andrew and Georgie, and I'd been looking forward to a sort of enemies-to-lovers dynamic, but somehow the book didn't crackle for me like I'd hoped. Having lived in New York City, though, I do always enjoy Layne's setting her books there, it's always like taking a weekend trip to Manhattan in just a few hours. I will keep reading more of her books, particularly the ones set in NYC.
Walk of Shame is an unexpected pleasure of opposites attract. Georgianna and Andrew are opposites in every way. When she goes to bed, he is going to the gym. While he works as a divorce attorney, she manages fundraising galas. Still, the few minutes a day they share at the lobby of their building are the ones they both look forward to. The moments when they spar with each other. The minutes when their attraction flares and their emotions surface. But nothing can come of it. Nothing until the night when Andrew loses his cool and kisses her senseless in front of a paparazzo. The night when they become the new it couple. There is only one thing to do then... Perhaps they can manage the Walk of Shame together... if only they can overcome their preconceived opinions and ideas of what they want in life and from each other... A really fun read!
Can opposites attract and live happily ever after? Divorce lawyer Andrew and party girl Georgiana are about as opposite as you can get.....and she believes in fairytales...... The early morning banter between these two neighbors makes ya wonder, I found a new author to add to my list of favorites.....
Thank you for the opportunity to review this title. Unfortunately, I found it difficult to connect to the story. As I didn't completely finish this book, I will not be publishing a review. We do not feature uncompleted books on the blog. Although this title didn't work for me, I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.
4.5 stars - Romantic comedy at its best. Two unlikely people learning to love their differences and try to make a go of it. Loved both characters and the snarky humor. Ms. Layne does not disappoint (as usual).

I’m not sure why but I’ve been REALLY into contemporaries lately so I just HAD to read this one when I saw it available to request on Netgalley.
I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed this one.
You could literally feel the tension leaking off the two main characters. Georgie is a socialite who used her inheritance from her grandmother to get her apartment and Andrew is the top divorce lawyer in New York. What happens when opposites attract? Some very steamy scenes that I wish I was at least warned about…. There’s not too many of them but keep that in mind when you read this one.
With any contemporary, there’s always angst and I found myself wondering – for the second time this year – if I was setting myself up for an unhappy ending. Fortunately I can say that this ended happily ever after Disney style. 😉
This book is a great choice if you like an opposites attract storyline. Good characterization, and chemistry between the leads. I usually find good humour in this author's books.
I started out unsure but ended up loving this one! Sometimes, even if you don’t quite “feel” the characters they still end up being some of your favorites.
Fun! Not deep or ground-breaking, but a very entertaining read. Liked the NY setting and both of the characters. I wish we would have only had Georgie's perspective or Andrew's not in third-person. Made it a bit awkward and hard know him/understand him.
Georgie seemed to be a spoiled socialite trust fund baby. Georgie seems to be flighty, and shallow who sleeps all day and parties all night. . Georgie is crushing on her neighbor who is uptight somewhat unfriendly in her apartment building Andrew/ Andy. Georgie does have an Economics degree and actually arranges a lot of charity events. . Georgie actually is a loyal, caring, and sincere in reality. Andy is one of New York's top divorce lawyers. Andy is a no nonsense type of guy who leads a structured life. Andy was the youngest to make partner in his law firm. But Andy does have times of insecurity and not fitting in that we get to see. Andy didn’t believe in love especially with all he had seen with his clients who are either famous or notorious or both. . Georgie and Andy meet up in their apartment lobby every morning at five am when Georgie is just coming home from her night of partying with her friends while Andy is on his way to the gym and then to work. Georgie and Andy share some sarcastic banter every day. Georgie does love pushing Andy until she breaks through his distant cold attitude. But Georgie does actually care what Andy says. Andy slowly starts to crave Georgie’s bubbling personality. Georgie and Andy have strong chemistry and become lovers. Georgie and Andy are opposites yet seem to compliment each other. Georgie had not been in a serious relationship before. Georgie believes in fairy tale endings.
I loved reading this book. I loved the pace and the plot. This book made me smile and chuckle which was great. This was an easy read. This book had my attention from the beginning to end. I really loved Georgie and Andy together. I loved how Georgie filled a part in Andy’s life that was no longer just work and going to the gym like it was before Georgie. I felt there was realism in this book. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I highly recommend.
Walk of Shame is romance at its best! Georgie and Andrew went from frenemies to real friends to lovers in this adorably romantic story. The author gave the romance time to develop, making the reader believe these character’s feelings were real. And the HEA was why I read romance!
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Loved the every element of this story. Lauren Layne does an amazing job of crafting her plot and characters. WoS is a book that will make you laugh and swoon. It is goodness from cover to cover.
