This was a cute and fun read! I enjoyed it from the beginning to the very end. The banter between these two was as sweet as pie. Georgie and Andrew were total opposites but yet still the same as they both shared a strong values about family and both secretly wanting to be a part of the other's world. Georgie, yearning for a change and wanting to be taken serious by not only her parents, but by Andrew and everybody else. While Andrew, who knows nothing but structure, work, and over achieving and not knowing how to just be.
When these two finally get it together, their love is the stuff fairy tales are made of... kind of...a lot like...Enchanted. So, because of all that, I will have to give this easy, feel good balanced read 5-stars and suggest that you run on out and read Walk of Shame by Lauren Layne.
I have read quiet a lot of books from this author this year and this one is one of my most enjoyable. It was a fun read with two lovable characters. Also it was super hot and sweet at some parts.Overall it was a great fast read.
This is the fourth book in the Love Unexpectedly series that can be read as a stand-alone novel that features the characters of Georgie and Andrew. It’s an enemies-to-lovers/opposites attract story that I thoroughly enjoyed. I love the way Lauren Layne writes, and I’ve been a long-standing fan of hers. I think I’ve read just about everything she’s written. She is my romance go to writer when I need a break from my mystery/suspense/thriller genre. I love both genres and find myself alternating between the two.
Lauren has a way of always drawing me into her story and transports me into the world she has created for the reader. I can get away from my life and pop into a fun romantic get-away. Her characters are fun and sometimes frustrating, but likeable, even lovable. I find myself always rooting for them. There is just something magical about her writing. That’s why I love reading her books.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a contemporary romance story that makes you smile (and gives you warm fuzzies) when you finish the end.

Reading this title made me a fan of this particular author. I have gone back and read everything she has written and made sure our collection has plenty of her titles in stock. I particularly love her Stiletto series.
I love, love, loved it! This one is about a girl who "hates" her neighbor who is completely different than her. I love a good hate to love story and Lauren Layne never disappoints so this one was a no brainer! Such a cute story!
When you are in the mood for something light and fun, you can't go wrong with Lauren Layne. She definitely knows how to write a light and fun book. You will not be disappointed when you read Walk of Shame.
In the story we meet the socialite, Georgiana Watkins (Georgie), and she's friends with everybody. She doesn't exclude anyone, and genuinely cares. However, she seems to rub Andrew the wrong way, because he finds Georgiana's antics ridiculous. He's a bully to her at times. He just doesn't know how to bask in her light. Georgie is a lot to take in, but she definitely has a heart of gold. Best way to describe these to be night and day, doom and gloom and sunshine and roses. They are pretty much opposites. Yet, they're drawn one to another.
Walk of Shame is a fun read. It's mainly told from Georgie's perspective with a dash of Andrew now and again. As silly as Georgie's perspective can be, it's probably better to be told through her. I love that Georgie knows what she wants, and is willing to put her heart on the line for it, while Andrew hides behind his cynicism. It takes losing her for him to realize that he needs a little sunshine in his life. If you are in need of fun, Walk of Shame is your book.

4 out of 5 stars. I enjoyed it and it reminded me more of Lauren Laynes style when she first started writing books.
Unpopular opinion: I didn't like this book as much as I was expecting to.
I thought both main characters were very childish and that Andrew wasn't rude he was a real bully to me. I seriously did not see the chemistry between the two.
I loved this book and I could not put it down. Layne created two characters that pull at your heartstrings due to their differences and well as how they are a great deal alike. The witty, hilarious romance between these tow characters will keep you wanting for more. I loved this story and look forward to reading more by Lauren Layne.
This story felt a little like reading a Disney movie. And I am a huge sucker for a Disney movie. It was cute and funny and uplifting with a little drama. The only thing missing was the evil witch and the talking animals. I picked this up and really really didn't want to put it down. So much so that when it hit midnight and I was at 80% I fully intended to power through it and feel like shit for the day, so when hubby had other plans for me I actually had to think about it ( for a second). But then the strangest thing happened when the cat woke me up half an hour before the alarm (I always snooze for 40 minutes) went off I actually had to finish the book so I stayed up. I know, GASP right?
So back to the book. What can I say? I loved it. We had a beautiful princess (socialite) who was an admitted party girl that everyone loved because she genuinely cared about everyone in her orbit. And a jaded divorce lawyer who is so buttoned up I was surprised he could bend over. Both of whom happen to live in the same building and cross paths and barbs on their morning commute, him on his way to the gym and her on her way in from last night's party.
This becomes something they both enjoy and turns into something they both go out of their way to manufacture. And for the reader it's a funny, sweet sexually charged foreplay that was really nice to see. The relationship between them springs from there and I was so lost in the lust fog and romance that I never really cared that they were so opposite. They just worked for me.
Naturally there were a few hurdles and stumbling blocks but they both handled it well (kinda). For the most part the drama was dealt with in a normal way and none of it felt manufactured or unnatural so it just made me even more invested in the whole thing.
You honestly have to read this if you're looking for a sweet book. And despite being the fourth book in the series it absolutely works as a stand alone.
Could NOT put it down! This first person alternative POV sucked me in from page one. Georgie does most of the story telling but Andrew chimes in right when he needs to. Lauren Layne is gifted at creating fast talking, witty, and emotionally compelling characters and Georgie and Andrew are two of my all time faves now.
This was a fun read. Light, sexy and romantic. Lauren Layne has been added to my "watch list.
With every book by Lauren Layne, it becomes more and more clear that I'm simply a LL junkie. This author delivers what I love to read. Every single time. With every story she creates a fun and believable plot, interesting and likable characters, and witty dialogue that elicits all the feels. Walk of Shame ( Love Unexpectedly #4) showcases an opposites attract battle between party girl Georgie and stuffy divorce lawyer Andrew.
Being on the sidelines as these two recognize what they feel (albeit very reluctantly) is maddening at the same time it's simply glorious. We immediately recognize that while Georgie's life is pretty simple, she's has such a kind and generous heart. She's got enough chutzpah to egg Andrew on, get under his skin, and worm her way into his heart. At times the cynical Andrew is simply dismissing, but he shows a callous side ( which left tears streaming down my face). He almost lost me a few times but he showed regret and worked on a path towards redemption. There's just enough back and forth, small battles and miss-steps and the story moves forward at a great pace. Because we get the story from both of their perspectives, we also get that perfect 360 degree view as their relationship, good and bad, changes.
I've been an LL fan now for just around a year and while I haven't read everything by her, I trust that I will always get a unique and well crafted story. I kinda wonder if I hold back on reading everything so that I know I have a read from a go to and #oneclick author recommendation. So, another 5 stars to a Lauren Layne read!
I enjoyed book, did feel that Georgie and Andy belonged together, regardless of their differences. I have to say that I was frustrated with them, he was 30 and she was in her 20's, but they acted like children. If they would have just spoken up, they could have avoided so many difficult emotions. I do understand that they were vulnerable, but just open your mouth, and get it over with. Regardless, I did enjoy, and am looking forward to next book.
This book was a ray of ridiculously wonderful sunshine. It was funny, cute, sweet and just a book that make me laugh and mostly made me smile. It's an enemies to lovers story that was executed perfectly in my opinion.
A wealthy fun, beautiful socialite and a high powered, straight laced divorce attorney.....both know how to get under the other's skin and drive each other crazy. Georgiana "Georgie" was adorable and her life was all about her friends, partying and of course charity work. Andrew Mulroney was a workaholic and very prim and proper. Both lived in the same building and that was how these two became "enemies" of sorts. Enemies who knew how to aggravate the other, push the other's buttons and create the perfect storm.
Georgie and Andrew are complete opposites. But isn't it opposites that attract or do they cause havoc for one another? These two do both. The ease of their animosity towards one another is laced with underlying feelings that each keep to themselves. But when Andrew becomes an unexpected guest at Georgie's dinner party, all bets come off the table and these two merge their love and hate for one another in a cute and funny tale. From workouts to sickness to heartache and to love.....this book will keep you believing in happily ever afters.
I have found that when I open a Lauren Layne book, I am going to be swept into a light and fluffy HEA book. The banter between the character is always fun and spot on and the angst is minimal and enjoyable. Walk of Shame delivered on all the above and left me in a feel good mood. I laughed, smiled and truly got swept away with Georgie and Andrew in this wonderful enemies to lovers story. A must read for all die hard believers in happily ever afters . . .

Georgie is known for staying out late and partying with her friends, but lately that lifestyle hasn’t had much appeal. What does hold her interest is the man who walks past the front desk every morning at exactly 5 AM. She loves to torment him because he’s the only person she knows who doesn’t seem to like her and it drives her crazy. She likes to be liked, even if it means stopping and picking up donuts every single morning.
“I hope the Wicked Witch’s flying monkeys carry you away and I never have to see you again.”
Andrew has his own reasons for sticking to his tight morning schedule, not that he’d admit to them. He’s a divorce attorney and because he sees the horrible side of marriage he isn’t the type to want to rush into a relationship, and the thought of marriage isn’t exactly on the his list of top things to do. He takes proper etiquette to an entirely new and annoying level.
“It would seem that my incentive to leave and my incentive to stay are one and the same.”
Walk of Shame is a hilariously sweet read. It takes two of the most unlikely people who seem to enjoy driving the each other crazy and puts them in a scenario that can only have one outcome. I mean how could you not fall for someone who would drop everything to take care of you?!?! Mix the sweet with their daily banter meant for nothing else but to win one over on the other and you have an entertaining book.
Walk of Shame was a book which reminded me of why I love Layne’s books so much, Whereas Love Story didn’t leave me feeling my usual giddy self afterwards, Walk of Shame had everything I love when it comes to reading, hate to love and trope, a slow burn romance and a swoony character to die for in Andrew. The constant jibes aside whenever Georgie and Andrew accidently met up in their lobby at 5am nearly every day, I couldn’t wait until things started to get a bit more heated up between them. I knew that there was real sexual tension and chemistry between them and I could honestly say Layne did a brilliant job at building up their relationship. There wasn’t an instant from enemies to lover’s moment and I appreciated how Andrew wasn’t your typical confident guy, yes he was a pretty good divorce attorney, but when it came to dealing with his feelings, he was known for saying the wrong thing and not getting ahead of himself. Whereas Georgie you could say was his opposite in this respect, she knew what she wanted and wasn’t afraid to put her heart on the line for it. You might be thinking how the heck did Layne even make this relationship work? There were a few road bumps and misunderstandings along the way (but these didn’t at any point take way the enjoyment of the story), but Andrew and Georgie just clicked and it was truly something to watch their relationship develop.
Walk of Shame is definitely one of my all time favourite reads that Layne has had to offer. Ladies if you want to add someone to your top ten fictional boyfriends, Andrew is your man!
Lauren Layne is one of my go-to authors, so I was really excited when I got approved for this on Netgalley that I ditched my school work and finished it on one sitting.
Now in hindsight I'm a bit confused as to why it is called Walk of Shame when there isn't really any walk of shame in it... Lots of walking, though... Walking aside, this is such a fun read! I especially love the way it read like a rom-com movie in my head.
Anyway, the reason why this book worked for me is the same reason why LL's books worked for me in the past: the characters. Georgie stole the show for me, I love her so much. She's kindhearted, easy to love, and she's a genuine ball of sunshine I want to squish and keep her forever. Mr. Love Interest, Andrew Mulroney (*cue Georgie voice* Esquire) is also entertaining to read despite his stoic ways. He's definitely the personification of the You Tried meme; boy just can't express himself without offending people, poor thing.
Their early morning banter are basically the highlights of this book, although I'm still horrified that Andrew is up and ready to go by 5 am (can't relate, Andy). I want to call their relationship enemies-to-lovers but I think they are not quite what you call enemies? It's more of Georgie wanting to get under Andrew's skin and crack him because he is so...stodgy? Either way, it's so fun to watch because everybody likes Georgie and then here is Andrew who keeps calling her ridiculous and rolling his eyes. I would take it as a personal challenge as well.
Also, I'm a big Disney buff, so I shared Georgie's obsession with the movie Enchanted. I really love the role the movie played in the book, especially in the end. I was in tears by the time I reached the ending. It really suits the whole HEA vibe this book had going, my hopeless romantic heart is thriving.
Not to forget, a special shoutout to Peter and Pam, Andrew's brother and sister in law for being awesome. I wish we had more of them. I love their little bit of HEA in the end (I cried, no surprise).
Overall, Walk of Shame has been a great stress reliever, and I recommend it to anyone who's looking for a quick, lighthearted read.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC from Netgalley.
I have to admit that when I started this book I was scared. Yup, you read it right, scared. Why, you ask? Georgie. I was having a terrible time trying to relate to her, but because this IS Lauren Layne, I kept on moving forward. I'm so glad I did!. The more I got to know about Georgie, the more I liked her. (Yes, I still can't relate with the super rich). She grew on me with her kindness and her reluctant attraction for Andrew. And Andrew, what can I say? He was so uptight I just wanted to reach through the book and mess him up! On the surface, they appeared to be chalk and cheese and yet they worked together beautifully. Once again Lauren Layne has made it work. I highly recommend Walk of Shame!
