Georgiana and Andrew have had a love hate relationship since the first day they moved into the same building and needed to use the service elevator to move in. Andrew thinks Georgie is ridiculous with her always going out and partying and not having a job and she thinks he is just as bad with his getting up at 5am to go and work out and not have any fun. but for some reason these 2 just can't seem to stop fighting and stop thinking about one another.
When they do start dating they do see that maybe opposites do attract.
I really liked this book it was a quick and cute fun read.

This book was so much of what I love about Lauren Layne. It gave me butterfly tummy tingles, it made me LAUGH OUT LOUD, it made me giggle quietly, and it gave the mouth hurts from grinning too wide. And not only that, it gave me frowny faces, and tummy hurts, and chest tightening too. So basically all the good things for a great book.

I wasn't sure how I would like Georgie, but it turns out a lot. She's nothing like I'm usually familiar, a wealthy socialite whose life involves brand names and high end shopping and perfect makeup and being seen in the best restaurants and partying most nights until the early hours. And I'm SOOOO not that kind of girl. But here's the thing: she's also really sweet and kind and big-hearted and a lover of the HEA. And *that* I can relate to. Her vulnerability and sensitivity really hit me hard too. I reacted pretty much the same to everything that she encountered in this book. But she was also strong, and not willing to bend for the wrong reasons. Sometimes I wish we could have seen more development of her character, and seen what happened with her restlessness with her current lifestyle. Did she look into a job?

Andrew surprised me in a good way too!! Having an enemies to lovers story, I was worried that he was going to be a dick or something. But he wasn't! Or at least not intentionally. He was so much deeper than I had been anticipating, and I hadn't quite realized where his animosity...well, not quite animosity, but his rigidness came from. I really appreciated that. The problem honestly is that I wanted MORE from Andrew. We get a lot of hints, but because we only got maybe a third of the book in his head, I felt like I didn't really get him as much, and I ended the book with questions. We get hints, and I can make up my own answers, but I'd much rather know, you know? Like why a divorce lawyer? Why his rejection of marriage? Was it just the logical stuff? Was there more? I really really really wanted more. Because his vulnerability and desperation and confusion with Georgiana was just freaking adorable and made me want to hug him. But I am pretty greedy with my heroes, so even without all the questions I had, I still would have liked more in his head, b/c I love equal time if I'm given dual POVs.

I wouldn't say I'm a huge fan of the enemies-to-lovers trope, but one thing it does bring you is a lot of sexual tension and fun banter at times. And it was done so well in this book. And when they finally collide, DAMN girl!! Just, woosh.

And I even enjoyed the secondary characters in this one, though none of them really got a lot of screen time. But they were diverse and I enjoyed their interactions with our MCs.

So yeah, total hit for me. Honestly the only reason I'm rounding down is because I'm a greedy SOB and wanted more from Andrew. :P

4.5 Stars!! Such a cute story!! This is the first book I've read in this series & it can definitely be read as a standalone!! Georgie was such a fun character! Andrew was a bit stiff but I guess that goes with being super smart! I couldn't help but feel bad for Andrew when he'd mess up!! This really was a good story! Two opposites attract! Andrew was so closed off & serious! Georgie was a bit too 'party-girl'! But somehow they clicked together! Would've liked to know more background info on Andrew & why he was so serious all the time, but you can figure it out! I really like this book! It's sweet & funny at times! I'd have to recommend it!

Despite the fact that I am a huge Lauren Layne fan I was hesitant to read this one. I hate the cover and the blurb left me blah. So I reluctantly clicked. I'm glad I did, because despite my negativity I ended up really enjoying this book. I went in expecting a vapid party girl alla Paris(okay, I'm totally dating myself by using her instead of a Kardashian). But that wasn't the case. I got two real characters, with a great connection. I loved watching them together. I giggled, I cried, I cheered them on, I cursed them, and I left with a smile.

How would I describe Lauren Layne's new standalone: Enchanting and Perfectly Ridiculous!

Walk of Shame is all about this bubbly, charming socialite/party girl and her uptight, grumpy neighbor/divorce lawyer and their enemies to lovers story. It has to perfect blend of comedy, chemistry, romance, and even a little drama... because-- well, you got to have the drama in any good book. These two can't stand each other, always exchanging barb after barb and insult after insult, ending in a passionate kiss. Problem is... they could not be MORE DIFFERENT.

I'm grinning outright now, because that's two ridiculouses this morning, and when he takes to repeating himself, I know I've successfully gotten under his skin. Georgie, one; Andrew Mulroney, Esquire, zero.

Georgie is always thinking positive thoughts, believing in happily ever after, and dreaming of True Love's Kiss *wink wink* While Andrew is a realist to the nth degree, using logic and common sense in all cases.

He had no use for pampered princesses who shopped during the days and partied their nights away. And yet there was an irritating kindness to her- a warmth that she bestowed upon everyone who crossed her path. Except for him.

Still, with every passing time spent together, Georgie and Andy (hahaha!) grow on each other... and guess what happens after that...??? Something Georgie and Andrew NEVER expected to happen... TRUE LOVE'S KISS.

I was wrong, I realize. First kisses aren't always a disappointment. Sometimes they're perfect from the very start.

He was screwed. How had this woman gone from being the aggravating menace of his early mornings to the center of everything?

What I love most about this story is LL writes true and honest characters who are clever and easy to root for, and sure they have their problems and make mistakes, as any person does, but they also make big comebacks. *one involving a certain Disney movie that I'll keep reliving again and again!*
This story has probably one of my favorite LL happy endings!

Thank you, Loveswept.

This book was freaking adorable. And sexy.

Walk of Shame is my second Lauren Layne book, and I’m so, so happy I gave this author a new chance after not falling hard for the first.

This is the story of Georgianna (Georgie), a NYC heiress with a great sense of humor, a big heart and a life-is-good attitude. Georgie is a believer of true love and happy endings, and she’s the life of every party. I loved how the author showed Georgie’s kind hard from the beginning, making her interactions with the concierge something fresh and fun. Being inside her head was a breath of fresh air.

Georgie is extremely likable, and that’s clear from the way everyone treats her. Everyone excepts divorce attorney and her way-too-serious-neighbor Andrew.

Every morning at five a.m., Andrew and Georgie met at the lobby. He’s going out to the gym, then the office where he made partner at age 30 because of his high IQ and driven personality. She’s getting home from one of her nights out with her super rich girlfriends. They couldn’t be more different, but they make taunting and teasing each other part of their morning routine.

The hate-to-lovers vibe in this story is instant and appealing. I felt the sexual tension from chapter one and devoured this book as I waited for Georgie and Andrew to give in to their obvious attraction. There was enough of that to keep my heart pounding fast.

The biggest source of tension between them is the fact that Georgie and Andrew live in different worlds despite being neighbors. He’s all business, all logic. She’s all fun, all emotion. The non-romantic part of me finds it hard to see them lasting, but the romantic part of me (a much bigger part, I guess) thought it was adorable that they found their way to each other despite their differences.

Walk of Shame was a great “opposites attract” romance with a enemies to love trope, lots of sexual chemistry, just the right amount of sexy scenes and some funny parts that helped lighten the mood. If that sounds like something you’d be interested in, I’d highly advise picking up this book.

Smart, sexy and a little awkward. Be prepared ladies - Andrew Mulroney is going to leave you a smitten and swooning!! I loved his romance with Georgianna in Walk of Shame.

Here's the deal.  Andrew is the king of all divorces. If you're wealthy and famous, he is your man. Not only is he fierce in the court room, but he's got the whole quiet, sexy intensity thing going on.

Georgie is a wealthy socialite and she's fabulous. (As I read, I felt her energy and light - she is seriously engaging and fun.)  Anyway, every morning she makes her way home after an evening of drinking and dancing to her favorite part of her day. Sparring with Andrew at the front desk of their building.

These two circle one another - courting each other and it is amazing. Their quick wit and banter was some of the best verbal foreplay that I've read in quite some time.   And holy freaking chemistry - this momma want left panting!!  I devoured page after page - loving every minute I spent with this duo.

Walk of Shame is the perfect example of why I love reading Lauren Lane books. Her characters were charming and seductive - they made my pulse race and heated me up without being overly smutty.   On the last page, I just had this overwhelming feeling of true love in my heart and it left me feeling happy.

Honestly, I have nothing bad to say about Walk of Shame except for my time with Andy and Georgie ended and I hated it. My recommendation is that you stop what you're doing immediately and purchase this book. Andy and Georgina are worth meeting.  Seriously - GO NOW.  You will love them, too.  I promise.

Loved this one!!! This might be my favorite Lauren Layne book of all time!!
Georgianna Watkins is what you think you typical socialite would be. Shopping, clubbing, hair done, nails perfect.... but here is the thing with Georgianna, she has a heart of gold. She is one of the nicest people in the world and not too many people know it.

Then there is Celebrity divorce attorney Andrew Mulroney. He is snarky, kinda mean and doesn't deal well with others. Especially Georgianna. He has seen her type before and knows to stay away. But, Georgianna is worming her way into Andrew's life. He doesn't know how much she can change his stubborn and pessimistic ways just by doing little things tonic her way into his life and then his heart

So the goddess of romance novels (you didn’t know there was one, did you?) heard my statement that I was going to stop requesting romances for a while because, well, frankly I had gone through a number that just weren’t romantic or fun or entertaining (to me). Then in the past week she sent me three really good ones and then today she sent me the bestest.

I can’t remember the last time I read a novel in a few hours but today the deck was sunshiny and warm and inviting and I started Lauren Layne’s Walk of Shame and I couldn’t stop reading it. I had a smile on my face and I want to write: “the world is a happy place” because that rhymes and this novel just made me HAPPY.

Georgie Watkins is not the normal romance main character that I would identify with. She is a socialite with tons of money and lives the party girl lifestyle. But Layne wrote Georgie with so much heart that there is no way you couldn’t fall in love with her quirkiness and kindness. And Andrew Mulroney in the hands of a different author could have been a real jerk, but Layne again just makes him irresistible. He says something jerky, but then realizes how it sounded and didn’t mean it and is just adorable in the way he reacts.

And, yes, maybe that’s what this romantic comedy is—adorable. I loved it from the first page to the last. Layne wrote in her afterward that this was her love letter to love. Ultimately what she showed in this novel is that she understands love, she understands what romance is, and she understands how to make us all fall in love.

So, oh, goddess of romance novels, you win. Maybe I won’t give them all up. I’ll just be more discerning, but you just better send me the ones just like this. I hope that’s a deal.

I absolutely LOVED this book!!!! Georgie and Andrew are true opposites who were made for each other. This book is full of love and snark and silliness and sexiness and all sorts of goodness. The characters are well developed and jump off the page. I laughed and even shed a tear while reading and didn't want it to end. I highly recommend this one!

Georgie Watkins, is a wealthy young woman who spends her time shopping, dancing and drinking all night with friends, and working on charitable functions. The day she moves into a luxury high-rise in New York, she meets Andrew Mulroney, a prominent divorce attorney. Georgie is friendly with everyone and is well liked but Andrew treats her very coolly with a somewhat superior manner. She’s not quite sure how to handle his attitude. Since he insists on calling her Georgiana she calls him Andy just to irritate him.

The more they see each other, you know they are interested in each other but are so different that you can’t quite see them together initially. Their interactions are beyond funny and I couldn’t stop reading, wanting to see what Georgie would do next. She is so vivacious, friendly and caring and Andrew seems so remote. Georgie seems to delight in finding ways to needle Andrew. He calls her ridiculous but you see the meaning slowly change throughout the story.

Andrew never seemed to know what to say to Georgie and many times the things that came out of his mouth were mean but not what he meant. I could easily feel the hurt that Georgie felt but it was somewhat funny to see him scrambling to think of what to say. For someone that was such a famous attorney, he couldn’t seem to say the right thing to her. It certainly didn’t help that he worked on so many high profile and contentious divorces, which would make it difficult to believe in HEAs.

I love dual POVs and while the majority of the book is from Georgie’s POV, I loved seeing a bit from Andrew. It was a special insight to his frustration in not knowing how to understand and interact with Georgie. It also tugged at my heart seeing his vulnerability.

The movie references in the story are a perfect fit for each scene. The characters are well developed and I loved the secondary characters also. I found myself wanting to be included in Georgie’s group of friends.

Georgie is one funny woman and I laughed out loud several times throughout the story. There are some sad parts to the story but it was mostly funny, sweet, sexy, and a HEA. When they finally have their sexy times, I was just as astounded as Georgie to see that Andrew is definitely NOT stodgy or a boring lawyer-type! They have an extremely passionate connection and it was scorching!

I love epilogues and this was a short but sweet one and left me wanting more of Georgie and Andrew!

Lauren Layne is such a good author that I always look forward to each of her new books. Walk of Shame is one of the best enemies-to-lovers books I have had the pleasure of reading. I really enjoyed the banter and the chemistry between the characters. I love some good snark and there was plenty of it in this book. I liked both of these characters so much and I’m super glad I got to enjoy their story. The slow burn of tension between them was so intriguing and it kept you wanting to know more about their story and to not put the book down. If you have never read anything by Lauren Layne, what are you waiting for?

I loved getting lost in a new LL book! She makes it so easy to get absorbed in the sweet romance and whirlwind life of her characters. This book was full of the feels and sweet HEA theme. Georgie is a socialite and completely different from Andrew, who is an attorney. Sure, she doesn't have a day job, but she plans benefits and galas, which is a job in itself. She also doesn't carry on normal hours. But luckily for her, her arrival time is Andrew's leaving time. They were pulled toward the other when realistically it didn't make sense.
I enjoyed the banter between the two of them and watching their love/hate of each other. They fit each other and made each other happy. It was easy to believe and fall in love with them. I was sucked into their world and couldn't put this book down. I enjoyed how Georgie pushed Andrew's buttons and the way they just clicked. They had obstacles to overcome but this was a fun, sweet and sassy story and I highly recommend this book!

A hate-to-want-you story featuring a party girl with a heart of gold and the grumpy-cute lawyer who can’t stop thinking about her, WALK OF SHAME is a funny, low-drama romance that kept me smiling throughout. The banter is strong in this one folks, so if you love light-hearted teasing and sexual tension-laden bickering then you’re in for a treat.

Georgie and Andrew get off on the wrong foot when they first meet in the lobby of their apartment building, and their courtship (or should I say hateship?) grows from there. They have a Super Serious unspoken tradition of meeting in the lobby every day at 5 AM to tease and taunt one another, which is all kinds of adorable. Doughnuts also have a starring role in their weird brand of flirting, so what’s not to like? Of course, it’s not long before these two are spending all kinds of time together outside of the lobby and realizing that there’s more to one another than they first thought.

Unlike some enemies to lovers stories, neither protagonist in WALK OF SHAME crosses the line by saying something too cruel. Andrew definitely comes close, and I found his judgmental attitude grating at points, but his grovelling was pretty good. My only real complaint about this one is that the story wrapped up entirely too quickly and Georgie and Andrew’s HEA felt rushed. Overall though, I really liked this one and I’m excited to read more by Lauren Layne.

Ms. Layne writes the best novels, and every one is just as delightful as the previous one, which makes it hard to choose which of her stories is the best. But I've got to say this fourth book of her Love Unexpectedly series would have to be close to the top of my best list when it comes to Ms. Layne's books. The way this story started with Georgie being a stereotypical socialite, finding her way home at such a ridiculous hour of the morning after having been out doing whatever took her fancy had me intrigued and made this story a real page turner for me. Since from Georgie's point-of-view it seems like she's gearing up to make someone's life interesting.

With this being a story that encompasses the opposites attract trope, there was so much to like about it. Such as the well-written and witty dialogue with its Wizard of Oz and 'ridiculous' references, the entertaining characters that had me enthralled by their back stories and everything they go through on their journey to happy ever after, and an ending that took me by surprise because of what the hero was keeping secret from the heroine, but left me completely satisfied with how things worked out perfectly between Georgie and Andrew.

As for the main characters, Georgie is vivacious in the way she lives her life and always manages to draw people in by her friendly and bubbly attitude. Also, I couldn't help but be affected by her emotions and reactions when things are said that she can't handle. Does she overreact, or is Andrew in the wrong? But most of all, I liked how determined she was to prove she could live a day in the life of Andrew when it comes to what he does day-to-day. Certainly, she challenges him to be less serious and less of a workaholic. Everyone needs to take a break once in a while. Do Georgie's efforts work? While Andrew, he's smart, he's hard-working and it's no wonder he's such a celebrity when it comes to his job since it seems he never loses a case. I also liked how difficult he finds it to say the right things to Georgie and what he was willing to do for those he loves. Because his sister-in-law deserved to have her wish; a wish he could help her achieve. But most of all what I liked about the hero was how he handled everything thrown at him including the media situation they face. Will it bring them closer together or further apart?

Overall, this was an incredible read filled with plenty of humor, a hot romance that does justice to this couple's strong chemistry, and was a story that I could not put down for even for a second. The way this story ended was perfect, as Andrew did something so out of character to win Georgie back. Who knew he had it in him? Then again, it proves how much he loves her. I would highly recommend Walk of Shame by Lauren Layne, if you enjoy the opposites attract trope, the enemy to lovers trope, or books by authors Julie James, Marina Adair or Jennifer Blackwood.

"Walk of Shame" by Lauren Layne. Can you say LOVE? Ms. Layne has hit a homerun with this one! I adored the entire story - the characters, the plot, the writing. It's a feel good story that had me smiling and chuckling throughout. Georgie and Andrew - could the two be any more different? Yet, together they are smokin' hot! I adored Georgie. She's fun and friendly, yet there's a vulnerble side to her that is what I truly liked. Andrew, he's hot and sexy and underneath the scowl, he's a warm blooded male that would make any woman swoon. And on top of that, deep down, he's a truly good guy. The story line is delightful! It's fun and witty and light, yet there's the touch of deep down love that everyone yearns for, even if they don't realize it. Ms. Layne's writing style is easy to follow and flows effortlessly. The story is told from both POV's which is always fun for me. Having read most of Ms. Layne's previous works and having had enjoyed them too, I was really hopeful for this one. And, I can honestly say, Ms. Layne did not disappoint. Honestly, this is my favorite of her works so far and I cannot wait for more. (received ARC from NetGalley for honest review)

Walk of Shame lacked a few things I love in a good story. I like my hero's uber Alpha and Andrew was not. He is a divorce attorney with a high IQ who is a little geeky and set in his ways and doesn't have a clue how to handle his party girl princess neighbor who clash immediately upon meeting.
Georgina is privileged party girl with no job who parties all night. I just couldn't relate to her. She seemed a little immature.
What I did enjoy about this book is the banter between the two and watching as they discover thy kinda like each other, but neither seem to know how to move things along.
The story does pick up around half way through when their relationship changes. This was a quick light read.

This book is essentially a fairy tale come to life. Even Lauren Layne, the author agrees this book is a love letter to love. A very cute, easy read of a story. I read it in one sitting and enjoyed every minute of it. Yes, I know if was fluff and it isn't more than a feel good, HEA book, but just what most of us want when reading a good romance. Ms. Layne made the characters believable and funny, and fun to be around. Andrew was the curmudgeon, and Georgie was the silly, eternally optimistic, heart of gold, heroine. A really fun story, and I, for one, am glad I read it. Just a feel good read. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this for an honest review.

Andrew and Georgiana or should I say Andy and Georgie are an impossibly sweet couple. On the face of it, she’s a socialite, the daughter of rich parents and grandparents who can spend her days doing pretty much anything she wants. He’s a lawyer, not just any lawyer, but someone who has devoted his life to the profession, and has made partner and more very young. She’s all social, he’s all business.

That’s on the face of it. What this book does with incredible depth is to create two characters who are far more than they seem. She’s loving and caring, and we end up wanting what she does, the love story. He’s socially repressed, but we want him to fight his battles, the awkwardness of talking to women, particularly Georgie.

And we get it, an improbable love story that’s handled with such care that two characters that could easily be treated as superficial become the people we root for. And we do root for them through the inevitable obstacles that they face on their voyage towards each other.

I understand why the author did it, to use a mixture of third and first person. In a way it works, because Andy is oh so the third person. At the same time, I also tend to prefer the first person. But you know what I still loved the book, third person and all. When I first encountered it, it was jarring, but like I say, it worked for Andy’s personality. It was a risk, but in the end, one that paid off.

5 "You're ridiculous" Stars

For me, Walk of Shame was everything I hoped for and more.

The storyline was entertaining from start to end, once I started reading I couldn't put it down.
Both Georgianna/Georgie & Andrew were wonderful, likable, endearing characters that had me laughing with their banter one min, then frustrating me with their stubbornness the next.

I loved watching Georgie get on Andrews nerves, she had a way with her words and actions that would wind Andrew up, the more he tried to ignore her the more she got to him.
Watching their relationship unfold made this such an awesome, memorable and entertaining read.

Walk of Shame by Lauren Layne is a well written, witty, fun, sweet and heartfelt read. The characters will capture your heart and bring out all the feels while they go after their happily everafter.
Truly a joy to read and I highly recommend it.

Thank you Lauren Layne for writing this very entertaining romance, you've proven once again why you are on my fav authors list <3
