I was really excited to get into Hard Justice, but unfortunately it feel a little flat for me.
The story opens with former MMA fighter-turned-bodyguard meeting his latest assignment - wealthy heiress Fallon Wade, a young woman with overprotective parents and a traumatic past who wants to start finding her way back out into the world again. She’s looking to try new things and make friends, and her parents compromise by hiring a bodyguard to keep her safe. As a result, Fallon’s feeling a little smothered, but that changes when she meets Justice Wellington. He takes her out to places she wants to go, meets new people, along with many of his friends and she becomes immersed in the MMA culture as a result. One night, after pretending to be a couple, true feelings begin to develop between them. Fallon’s also dealing with a former boyfriend who’s reluctant to give her up, while Justice is being pursued for a rematch of a fight that he has no intention of committing to.
Hard Justice is not a bad book. It did, however, feel a bit problematic for me personally. I really liked Fallon; I could appreciate her history, her trauma and her need to finally be herself. It was encouraging that she was trying to break away from her over-protective parents and be brave enough to take new risks and live a little. And for a while, that worked in the story - until the over-protective (and frankly, overbearing) behaviour was adopted by Justice under the guise of his love for her and needing to protect her from every little thing. It really rubbed me the wrong way, and I found it disappointing that Fallon gave into that so easily rather than trying to be that happy, independent girl.
Ultimately, it just wasn’t the right kind of book for me. If you like the damsel-needing-rescue kind of romance, you may like this one.
I gave it 2 out of 5 stars.
Great quality reading as usual. I just can't put Lori's books down. Really entertaining read. Looking forward to her next book.
This was a DNF for me, I don't know if it's me in a book slump or I have gone off Lori's writing but I just couldn't get into it at all. Sorry.

I loved the first book in this series, and I loved this one just as much!
Justice and Fallon are sooo adorable!
He's the big, bad, former fighter turned bodyguard, with the death stare.
She's the sweet, sheltered, inexperienced, rich, daddy girl.
Two people who would've never met in real life, but who are so perfect for each other!
Of course it's not all cute and funny...
We have some very serious and mysteriously suspensy moments and some very moving moments and of course some very sexy moments too. ☺
This was the perfect Mystery Suspense Romance
(mystery because we don't know who the bad guys are!)
• funny • sexy • adorable • moving • exciting • suspensy •
I just loved reading it - finished it in one afternoon/night!
*warning* Unputdownable due to adorableness-overload!!!!
And I also really loved that we got to see all our old fighting guys again and of course the future bodyguards too!!!

I adored the first book in the Body Armor series, but for me Hard Justice was just on another level of adorableness.
Fallon and Justice would never have met under normal circumstances, but now that they have, they really are MFEO.
Fallon - oh dear did my heart go out to her, but I loved her pluck, how she would no longer let fear rule her.
Justice is just all kinds of swoony. Tall, hard, tattooed - I need to get myself a bodyguard to find me one of him of my own!
There is a bit of mystery running in the background of our lovelies story, and there were a few red herrings thrown in there to put us off track.
I love the spark between our lovelies. From the first glances to the end, there was just something between them, even when they didn't want it to be there.
We get lots of Leese from the first book and the fighters from the Ultimate series, and I hope we get more of them in the future books.
Now we have a long wait until the 3rd book in the series hits our kindles :( But it will be worth it!

I loved this latest book by Lori Foster, I'm such a fan of hers. This is Justice and Fallon's story. Justice is an ex MMA fighter now bodyguard and Fallon is a rich naive heiress. Due to a tragedy a few years ago Fallon has lived her life in limbo and has been very sheltered. Her parents hire Justice, and Fallon blossoms. The more time they spend together the more connected they become.
Love it when an Alpha male is brought to his knees by a sweet innocent, child like young woman.
I know nothing about fights but the author certainly brought the atmosphere to life. The story was exciting and fun with some drama thrown in...loved the ending. The characters were also enjoyable to read. I highly recommend this book.

This is a rather sweet, good old fashioned type of romance...and I really enjoyed it. Justice was a fighter and is now acting as a bodyguard to rich, innocent Fallon. Her parents have been very protective of her since a tragedy hit the family a few yrs back.
She is strong, well trying hard to be strong, he is...well Justice is quite simply YUMMY...and he is protective and slowly acknowledges he wants much more from Fallon.
Mystery, intrigue, family, lust, sexiness...what more could I want in a book? A happy ending...yes, the reader will get that too.
First time Lori Foster reading and new fan. Even though this book is 2nd in a series it was also great ass a stand alone. I liked all the characters especially the totally polar opposites of Justice and Fallon. There were some sparks flying between the two from the beginning and there was just the right amount of sexual tension and chemistry to make them a great couple. It was good to see Fallon grow through the story. All that topped of with a bit of mystery and action made it a thoroughly good read.
I haven't read the first book in the Body Armor series.
While I found the storyline to be entertaining, I can't say that I thought this book was amazing. There is an awful lot of nothing happening most of the time, with most of the action unfolding in the last part of the book. I also found it really hard to relate to the characters. Fallon was described several times as someone who didn't care about the material things in life despite her wealth, but she never really found her backbone. She began the story wanting some independence and ended up trading in an overbearing relationship with her parents for a rushed future planned with Justice. I got no sense of who she really was apart from cute and afraid. She seemed to have no sense of humor, no prior interests, and no real passion for anything. Even her career was never much more than a passing mention.
Justice saves the book from being boring, but barely. He's very stereotypically possessive. I'd have liked to see him a little bit more willing to let Fallon do her own thing.
Overall, Hard Justice is a nice book to pass the time.
There is nothing more sensual then envisioning an hot bodyguard. Nothing more exciting then allowing your mind to imagine him , his body language and persona in each scene. It exceeded my expectations and then some. And then there's the cover to bring sexy into how you imagine the bodyguard to be. This novel is the real deal. Its beaming erotic. You just know that there is some saucy erotica concealed in this book and that is what captivates and intrigues you to keep reading. Its a must read for sure.. I would rate it 5/5 stars.
