My Kind of You is my kind of book! Tracy Brogan is a fantastic writer that I adore! I literally laughed until tears rolled down my face. The characters Emily and Ryan were awesome together, and all of the secondary characters were wonderful as well. Trillium Bay is a place that you want to visit yourself. I really enjoyed this book, and I can't wait for the next book in the Trillium Bay series.
Emily's life imploded and now she's back in MIchigan, dealing with her daughter and the rest of her family. Then she meets Ryan. You know these two will have an HEA so read this for the fun characters.
I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. I have tried a few times to get into this book but have not been able to read it. I did buy a copy for my branch though and it goes out frequently so maybe I will try again.
Lots of laughs! Good storyline. I can't wait to see where the series leads.
Emily was returning home to Wenniway Island, the place where she grew up in northern Michigan. She had run away when she married her husband, Nick. She was now divorced, broke and a single mom. She had agreed to come back for the summer to help her grandmother, Gigi, remodel her rental cottage in exchange for a loan she had given her to help her make ends meet until her flip-house could be sold. She wasn't happy about returning under these circumstances but she really had no choice. Her 11 year old, Chloe, wasn't sure this was going to be a good summer, either.
Ryan Taggert had come to Wenniway Island because his brothers said he was seeing a gold digging Bimbo and Ryan had to put a stop to it before their dad did something stupid like marry the woman. When he arrived, he learned that things weren't exactly as they had seemed. Yes, his dad was dating a much younger woman, who happened to be Emily's sister, but she wasn't a gold digging Bimbo, after all. He was attracted to Emily and he also began to see Emily as something more than a possible fling. But his home was in Sacramento, CA and hers was in Texas. They were both only on the island for the summer. He also never did relationships. But, the more time he spent with her, the more he wanted to spend time with her. But there were secrets between them that could destroy any possible future they might have together. Was its possible to come clean and salvage their new relationship or would it be too fragile to survive the blast?
I really enjoyed this book. It was well written and the pace seemed good. The secondary characters were fabulous, too. The sex scenes weren't descriptive, which I personally appreciated. There were a few f-bombs that felt unnecessary to the story, but that is a personal recommendation.
I was given an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I loved this book and you will too. It is funny and easy to read and expect the unexpected.
Emily is home because she made a bad choice and is going to help her grandmother out in repayment of a loan. Ryan is on the island because his recently widowed father is dating a much younger woman whim he thinks is a gold digger.
This title as alot of unexpected twists and turns and is very enjoyable. I can't wait to read more.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I have read a couple of books by Tracy Brogan before. I love writers that can write real characters! They seem like people you might know. The island community brought so many funny moments. Tracy writes with humor! I love that about her! I am all about the HEA, but I want some humor in my books too! The characters were very likeable. Emily & Ryan were meant to be from the moment they met in that airport! The daughter of Emily was so precious! And Mama owes her so much! I don't want to give away too much. This was a wonderful summer read. You can't go wrong taking this one along on vacation or a day at the beach!

Humor, small town charm, and quirky characters make this an absolute joy to read. It's well written with a great flow to the story. Definitely one for the must read list.
Tracy Brogan write another wonderful romance set on a beautiful Michigan island. Emily is returning to her hometown of Trillium Bay with her daughter after a disastrous business mistake leaves her flat broke. Her grandmother hires her for the summer to remodel a rental cottage and gives them a place to live. I love the island setting and I'm excited that this is the first book in a new series. The town folk can spread gossip faster than wildfire and are thicker than thieves when it comes to butting into everyone's business. Can't wait to return to Trillium Bay for book 2.
After a huge mess up Emily gets her teenage daughter and goes back home. She also feels she has to prove herself as she left not on good terms. Luckily for her, her daughter can soften anyone up.
This was a great read the romance is right on target.

Loved, loved, loved this book. I so enjoyed the story and the chemistry between Ryan and Emily. This is such a sweet and clean love/ romance story. I liked that I knew they were in bed together and enjoying each other without all of the erotic details that so many books have. All of the side characters were also very interesting. I will look for more books by Tracy Brogan to read. I will certainly recommend this book to my reading friends.
Another sweet start to a series! Can't wait to see what happens!
My Kind of You follows Emily and her daughter as they move back to Emily's home town, Trillium Bay, for the summer. There, she works to repair her relationship with her family and her career, all while finding love. While I didn't enjoy this book as much as others by this author, it was still a lighthearted, fun read. Some points seemed to drag at times and the book never offered any real surprises. However, the characters were enjoyable and I loved the setting.

Such a great read!!! Tracy Brogan has done it again!!!!!!
A very well written book. I loved the small town setting and the funny and quirky characters as well as the author's style of writing.
Unfortunately the book was not for me, no review was publicly posted on Amazon, B&N, Goodreads or Twitter etc, so no ratings were affected in relation to it.
This one felt a little average to me and left me bored often. The "drama" wasn't very entertaining to me although I did like the main characters. That being said, I typically love Tracy Brogan's books and will continue to read them!
Had some trouble finishing the book. The best part of the book for me was the setting. The relationship between Emily's sister and the older man did not seem very believable.
Tracy Brogan brought yet another novel that made me laugh out loud and brought tears to my eyes.
I am giving this book 3.5 stars. For me, maybe not another reader, I couldn't really bond with the characters until maybe the 50% mark and even then I wasn't consumed with them.
Yet, Emily and Ryan are a great slow burn couple. I enjoyed their banter. I enjoyed how funny the situation with their families were. Their lives seemed like a train wreck waiting to happen. And as the reader I just couldn't look away.
The comic relief by the supporting characters and Chloe is hands down my favorite pre-teen.
